Mark Hunter, CSP, known globally as “The Sales Hunter,” is a renowned sales expert, keynote speaker, consultant, and best-selling author who helps organizations transform how they approach sales. With more than 30 years of experience in sales leadership, he has worked with companies around the world to help sales teams identify better prospects, build stronger relationships, and close deals with confidence and integrity. Before launching his company, The Sales Hunter, Mark spent nearly two decades in the sales and marketing divisions of Fortune 200 companies, leading large sales teams and developing high-performing sales strategies. He is the author of several influential books, including High-Profit Prospecting, High-Profit Selling, and A Mind for Sales, and is widely recognized for his practical insights on prospecting, mindset, and building trust-based sales relationships that drive long-term business success.SHOW SUMMARYIn this episode of Selling from the Heart, Larry Levine and Darrell Amy welcome renowned sales expert, author, and keynote speaker Mark Hunter, known around the world as "The Sales Hunter," to discuss his latest book, Integrity First Selling: How to Create Better Sales with Better Customers.Mark challenges conventional sales thinking by reminding listeners that sales is not about moving products—it's about serving people. He explains why the most successful sales professionals focus on helping buyers achieve outcomes they never thought possible rather than simply chasing quotas, commissions, or quarter-end numbers. The conversation explores what it truly means to put integrity first in sales, including aligning with the buyer's journey, building trust through transparency, and playing the long game even when short-term pressure tempts salespeople to do otherwise. Mark also shares practical insights on prospecting, pipeline development, leadership, accountability, and why many organizations mistakenly create the very buying behaviors they complain about. In a marketplace increasingly crowded by AI-generated noise and transactional selling, Mark makes the case that trust, authenticity, and consistency remain the most valuable competitive advantages a salesperson can possess. This episode is a powerful reminder that sales done with integrity doesn't just create better customers—it creates better careers, stronger relationships, and lasting success.KEY TAKEAWAYSSales is fundamentally about serving people, not selling products.Integrity-first selling requires joining the buyer's journey rather than forcing your own agenda.Long-term trust always outperforms short-term sales tactics.End-of-quarter discounting often trains customers to delay purchasing decisions.Healthy pipelines eliminate desperation and create better customer experiences.Sales leaders should focus on creating opportunities, not simply closing deals.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESSales is serving people. It's not selling stuff. The products we sell are simply the medium we use to help people.Closing without integrity creates revenue today and regret tomorrow. The easy sale isn't the one you get. It's the one you deserve.Desperation at the end of the quarter is usually the result of poor pipeline discipline at the beginning of the quarter.Being the same person at work and at home makes life simpler and sales more effective.ADDITIONAL RESOURCESExplore the secrets of heart-centered leadership and thriving workplace cultures with Culture from the Heart Podcast! Tell us what you think of the show! This Week in Cleantech is a weekly podcast covering the most impactful stories in clean energy and climate featuring Paul Gerke of Factor This and Tigercomm's Mike Casey. This week's episode features special guest Tim McDonnell from Semafor, who discusses the potential future of the Strait of Hormuz and energy markets if the US-Iran de-escalation deal holds. This week's “Cleantecher of the Week” is Andrew Redd, CEO of Endurance Energy, a Seattle-based seafloor geothermal energy developer, which just raised $54m in Series A funding. Redd is a former SpaceX engineer who is now drilling into spots at the bottom of the ocean where tectonic plates split apart and magma heats the water to over 700 degrees. Tell us what you think of the show! Welcome to the premier edition of the Factor This Policycast, a brand-new podcast partnership with national industry association Advanced Energy United, tackling the legislation, rulemaking, and market design that matter to clean energy leaders.Hosted by Factor This content director and Emmy-Award winning journalist Paul Gerke, this series of discussions will feature voices from across the energy policy landscape and spotlight issues shaping the evolution of our electric grid. The first topic is one that you may have spotted in recent headlines: competitive transmission solicitation. It's no secret that large-scale, critical electrical infrastructure projects like high-voltage transmission lines cost a LOT to build and take some time to come online.About 15 years ago, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, mandated that utilities competitively bid out such projects, but that mandate isn't being enforced, for reasons we'll get into on the program. New data points to tremendous benefits from competitive transmission, though, including billions of dollars ultimately saved by ratepayers. Detractors argue the bidding process delays timelines and subjects projects to hidden costs, and a group of Midwest utilities has even asked FERC to halt bidding in MISO and SPP. On this episode of the podcast, Factor This's Paul Gerke is joined by Caitlin Marquis, managing director at Advanced Energy United, and Paul Cicio, chair of the Electricity Transmission Competition Coalition (ETCC). Both are advocates for competitive transmission and share findings to support their case. They discuss that utility request to ban competition outright, talk about FERC's role in all of this, and explore the finer points complicating broader transmission build-out- at a time we really need it.New episodes of the Factor This Policycast go live at 6 am ET every other Thursday.Want to make a suggestion for This Week in Cleantech? Tell us what you think of the show! Talk about systems and solutions is everywhere across the utility sector, but the biggest challenges the grid is facing are more about coordination than hardware. As utilities, retail suppliers, and operators all compete to manage the same DERs like electric vehicles, solar infrastructure, and smart appliances, the biggest challenges are associated with alignment, timing and expectations on every side. Michael Grasso, CEO and founder of GridRails, has a keen awareness of these challenges. His decades of experience in the industry has exposed him to teams and processes that have become paralyzed by fragmented tech silos and sluggish financial settlement cycles that take anywhere from 30 to 120 days to resolve. That's why his company is working to solve these challenges by introducing an agnostic, software-as-a-service (SaaS) orchestration layer that unifies these fragmented endpoints into a single platform, giving energy suppliers direct control over their network operations. We caught up with him to explore why his platform structures its solution around three core pillars, what it means for consumers to receive instant financial gratification in a digital wallet for adjusting their energy usage in the moment, the importance of shifting the utility paradigm from a penalty-based framework to a real-time incentive model, and much more.Want to make a suggestion for This Week in Cleantech? What if the reason your habits haven't stuck has nothing to do with willpower? What if the problem was never motivation, discipline, or how badly you want it — but the way the system was designed in the first place?James Clear spent years studying how behaviour actually changes. Not the motivational story we tell ourselves. The real mechanics underneath — the neuroscience, the psychology, the architecture of lasting transformation. What he found became one of the best-selling books of the last decade. Over 20 million copies sold. Translated into 50+ languages. Read by everyone from elite athletes to Fortune 500 CEOs.But reading about a system and running that system are two entirely different things. That's what this episode is.In this Modelling Excellence Monday session, Adam takes the seven core principles from James Clear's Atomic Habits and builds a deep hypnosis session around them — so you don't just understand the philosophy intellectually, you begin to live it from the inside out. This is not a summary of the book. This is an installation. The Seven Principles Modelled in This Session:You Don't Rise to Your Goals — You Fall to Your Identity — Lasting change comes from becoming the type of person who naturally produces the results you wantEvery Action Is a Vote — Every habit you perform is a vote for the person you wish to become. Cast enough votes and the election is wonMake It Obvious, Attractive, Easy, Satisfying — The four laws of behaviour change that make good habits inevitable and bad habits impossibleThe 1% Rule — Marginal Gains Compound — Get 1% better every day and you'll be 37 times better by the end of the yearNever Miss Twice — Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the beginning of a new (wrong) habit. Always come backEnvironment Design Over Willpower — We don't rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems. Design your environment and willpower becomes irrelevantThe Plateau of Latent Potential — Real change is invisible at first. You put in the work, nothing seems to happen... then suddenly, everything clicks. The breakthrough was being built all alongHow to Use This EpisodeFind somewhere quiet. Headphones in. Eyes closed. Give yourself 45 minutes where you won't be disturbed. You don't need to have read Atomic Habits to get everything from this session. And if you have read it — this will take everything you already know and move it from your head into your bones. If You Missed Episode 001Last week Adam modelled the mind of David Goggins — seven principles including the 40% Rule, the Cookie Jar, and Never Finished, built into a full hypnosis session. Search The Hypnotist — Modelling Excellence Monday to find it.Two very different people. Two very different philosophies. The same destination: becoming the person you're capable of being.Who Should Adam Model Next?Modelling Excellence Monday is built on one of the core ideas of NLP: anything that any human being can do can be elicited, modelled, and replicated. If you can identify the beliefs, the internal strategies, the way a person processes the world at their best — you can hand that as a shortcut to anyone willing to step into it.Success leaves clues. Hypnosis is how we install them.So who inspires you? Who do you watch and think — I don't just want to admire that, I want to understand how they think? It could be an athlete, an entrepreneur, a scientist, a philosopher, an artist, a leader. Anyone who excels at something you want to embody.Nominate them. Adam reads every submission — and your nomination could become a future session heard by hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

Looking back, he realized that while he was focused on driving change and having difficult conversations, he failed to first earn the trust of the people around him by listening, connecting, and understanding what success already looked like within the organization. The discussion explores the relationship between identity and performance, the importance of maintaining belief in yourself, and how professional setbacks often become the greatest catalysts for growth. Jeff explains why integrity is much more than keeping your word—it's the alignment between what you sell, who you sell it to, how you sell, and why you sell it.Listeners will also hear powerful insights on culture, self-awareness, defining "enough," and why true success starts with getting the right priorities right both professionally and personally. This is an honest and thought-provoking conversation about growth, humility, leadership, and the ongoing journey of becoming the person capable of achieving the results you desire.KEY TAKEAWAYSSelling from the heart begins with integrity—alignment between what you sell, who you sell to, how you sell, and why.Belief and confidence are not permanent; they require daily attention and reinforcement.Lasting results require personal transformation, not just better goals or systems.Leadership starts with trust. Before driving change, leaders must understand and earn the hearts of their people.Professional setbacks often provide the greatest opportunities for growth and self-discovery.More than one truth can exist at the same time—you can experience failure and still be proud of your effort.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESIntegrity is alignment between what you sell, who you sell it to, how you sell it, and why.Belief is a daily practice. The moment you assume it'll always be there, it starts to disappear. In order to achieve different results, you must become the kind of person capable of producing those results.I knew what good looked like, but I never stopped long enough to understand what good already looked like to the people around me.You can't lead people effectively until you've earned the right to influence them.ADDITIONAL RESOURCESExplore the secrets of heart-centered leadership and thriving workplace cultures with Culture from the Heart Podcast! Tell us what you think of the show! The U.S. Department of Energy is moving forward with releasing billions of dollars in rebate funding to states earmarked by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for two home energy programs: Home Efficiency Rebates (HER/HOMES), which enables whole-home retrofits that cut overall energy use by at least 15%, and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR), providing point-of-sale coupons for high-efficiency electric appliances like heat pumps and electric stoves for low- and moderate-income households. On this episode of the Factor This podcast, host Paul Gerke is joined by Advanced Energy United policy principal Kate Shonk, who explains why the funding was stalled, where it's headed, and how it can really help people at a time when electricity prices are climbing almost everywhere, and affordability is on the menu for dinner table discussion. She dives into examples from a few of the roughly dozen states that are rolling out unique programs to take advantage of the efficiency rebates and shares what's working. Rebecca Puck Stair, a director for the State of New Mexico's Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department, also joins the show and explores the real, tangible, human impact programs like HER and HEAR can have on communities in need. Todd Caponi is a sales strategist, keynote speaker, author, and advisor passionate about elevating the sales profession through behavioral science and transparency. A three-time author—including The Transparency Sale and The Transparent Sales Leader—Todd helps organizations rethink how they sell, negotiate, and lead by building trust through honesty rather than perfection.Blending his fascination with decision science, sales methodology, and learning theory, Todd works with customer-facing teams to create more confident, frictionless B2B buying experiences. Through speaking, teaching, and advising, he equips leaders and sales professionals with simple, practical frameworks that drive stronger relationships, better outcomes, and long-term growth.SHOW SUMMARYIn this episode of the Selling from the Heart Podcast, Larry Levine and Darrell Amy welcome sales strategist, author, and transparency advocate Todd Caponi to explore why trust should never disappear when negotiations begin.Drawing from his latest book, The Four Levers of Negotiation, Todd challenges traditional negotiation tactics that often turn collaborative sales conversations into adversarial battles. He explains that while sales professionals spend months building credibility and trust, many unknowingly undermine those relationships the moment pricing discussions begin.Todd introduces a practical framework built around four universal business drivers—volume, timing of cash, length of commitment, and timing or predictability of the deal. By helping buyers understand the true factors that influence pricing, sales professionals can negotiate transparently, trade value instead of giving away discounts, and create outcomes that benefit both parties. The conversation dives into behavioral science, decision-making, confidence in pricing, and why transparency consistently outperforms manipulation. Whether you're negotiating enterprise contracts or everyday business agreements, this episode provides a modern, trust-centered approach to creating win-win outcomes while strengthening long-term customer relationships.KEY TAKEAWAYSTransparency creates stronger outcomes in sales, leadership, negotiations, and customer relationships. Many salespeople build trust throughout the sales cycle only to abandon it during negotiation.Every B2B pricing discussion is influenced by four key factors: volume, payment timing, contract length, and deal predictability.Buyers are less likely to push aggressively for discounts when they understand the rationale behind pricing.Negotiation works best when both sides openly collaborate rather than hide information and play games.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESTransparency sells better, leads better, negotiates better, and creates stronger customer advocates than pretending to be perfect. We spend months building trust with our buyers. Why would we risk losing it the moment the negotiation begins? The best negotiations don't feel like battles. They feel like two sides working together to create value.Every pricing conversation is driven by four simple levers: volume, timing of cash, length of commitment, and deal predictability. The minute you give away a concession for free, you diminish its value—and your own.ADDITIONAL RESOURCESExplore the secrets of heart-centered leadership and thriving workplace cultures with Culture from the Heart Podcast! Langton explains her CTG methodology, connect, trust, grow, emphasizing authentic connection to overcome resistance to change, trust built through leadership and data to scale beyond pilots, and growth through iterative wins. She shares how purpose rooted in personal adversity fueled her leadership, how aligning personal mission with organizational priorities creates transformation, and why technology and AI require a “human path” for adoption by building with, not for, stakeholders.KEY TAKEAWAYSAuthentic connection must come before trust , and trust must come before growth. Skip one, and the whole framework breaks.Your personal "why" is your most powerful sales asset. Aligning your purpose to your client's or organization's greatest need creates unstoppable momentum. You don't need to be the expert , you need to connect the experts. Leadership and sales are about asking the right questions and keeping everyone aligned to one mission.Build with people, not for them. Co-creation drives adoption; top-down mandates don't.Data empowers people, it doesn't replace them. The human path to adoption is just as critical as the technical solution.Adversity can become your superpower. Lived experience creates authentic credibility that no credential can replicate.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESIf you don't connect, your stakeholders will resist. If you skip trust, what you're building will never scale beyond a pilot.Technical playbooks don't create change, people do.People follow the version of you that's true.We built with, and not for, them. Today’s Rickey Smiley Morning Show delivers a powerful mix of global headlines, celebrity claps back, and major milestone moments, starting with breaking international news as Donald Trump announces that the U.S. ceasefire with Iran will be extended indefinitely while negotiations continue. According to multiple reports, the ceasefire remains in place as Iran works to present a unified proposal, even as U.S. military pressure and blockades continue in the region, keeping tensions high and talks uncertain. The show also dives into a heated social media moment as boxing champion Claressa Shields fires back at critics attacking her appearance, firmly reminding the internet that her Olympic gold medals, undisputed titles, and confidence speak louder than online trolls. The conversation continues with legal drama surrounding NFL star Stefon Diggs, as his defamation case takes a new turn with the accuser requesting access to Diggs’ financial records, arguing that claims of reputational and financial harm must be backed up in court.
