「横浜FMから海外挑戦。水沼宏太がフリー移籍へ！「出場機会限定で退団」Jリーグ復帰は？」　　横浜F・マリノスやセレッソ大阪、FC東京などJリーグ複数クラブでのプレー経験がある元日本代表MF水沼宏太は、今季限りでオーストラリア1部ニューカッスル・ジェッツFCを退団する見込み。フリー移籍となるが、複数クラブでの争奪戦やJリーグ復帰の可能性も考えられるところだ。　現地メディア『フットボール360』は18日、ニューカッスル・ジェッツに所属する一部選手の去就を特集。「契約満了になる予定の選手は多い」とした上で、水沼について「彼はオーストラリア全土で絶大な人気を博したが、マーク・ミリガン監督のもとでは出場機会が限られていたため、今季限りで退団する」と報じている。　現在36歳の水沼は横浜FM、栃木SC、サガン鳥栖、FC東京、C大阪でプレー。2020年に横浜FMへ復帰した後は、公式戦100試合以上でピッチに立ち、J1優勝等に大きく貢献した。　2025年1月に横浜FMからジェッツへ完全移籍した水沼。海外挑戦1年目はオーストラリア1部リーグ戦12試合出場で2ゴール4アシスト。2025/26シーズンは20試合の出場で2ゴール2アシストをマークも、スタメン出場はわずか2試合。新指揮官のもとで序列を下げていることは明らかだ。　一部でJリーグ復帰を期待する声もあるが、現時点で水沼の移籍先候補はオーストラリア国内で報じられていない。オーストラリア国内での評価が高いだけに、海外挑戦続行の可能性も十分ある。

Kenneth Batcheldor was a British clinical psychologist who, during the final two decades of his life, investigated the paranormal through direct experiments in table-turning. The final fruit of that work was an essay, compiled from Batcheldor's notebooks by Patric Giesler, entitled “Notes on the Elusiveness Problem in Relation to a Radical View of Paranormality.” Published in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research in 1994, it remained unknown to JF and Phil until Shannon Taggart called their attention to it quite recently. Since the theory Batcheldor presents here with admirable lucidity is deeply attuned to ideas they have been discussing on Weird Studies for nearly a decade, they decided to devote an episode to it. As far as I know the Bee Gees tune was only ever released on a 7″ (my ‘format of choice’) for Jose in Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines and Spain and never as an A-side and arranger, Al Capps most probably winced if he ever got to see the NZ pressing below. Strangely, Jose’s very rarely performed the song live. I’ve only noted it three times, including two at London’s Jazz Cafe, in 1996 and again in 1998 and at the former it surfaced nearly under duress. With the audience (maybe unsurprisingly) constantly shouting out for past JF favourites Jose countered, ‘You know there’s a lot of songs you people ask me for that unfortunately… and I’m not being rude, a lot of artists are rude, they do it on purpose, but some of the songs that you ask me to sing, do you know that I haven’t sung them in years and I’ve forgotten the words and rather than make an ass out of myself that’s why I don’t sing them, OK? So, don’t take it personal… I don’t sing those songs anymore. But I’ll tell you what though there’s some that you ask for that I do remember, like this one. Cohn definitely wouldn’t have seen this coming, as the self proclaiming Mahna Mahna and the Snowths duo upstage him in a short but cheeky mashup (of sorts) I happened on via Youtube a couple of decades ago. I’ll openly admit I was a Muppets fan when they first aired on UK TV back in the mid ’70s and with Statler & Waldorf the stars for me I remember walking my girlfriend of the time, Jill home from work and then running up the hill to my house to record the show. Pre the age of video recorders, at one point there was a stack of ten to twenty AGFA(!!) cassette tapes of the shows in my bedroom. Bush Greatest Hits, v/artists, CDr only – Spin The World – 2004 I heard this cut and paste work of art somewhere around its ‘release’ and as of 2004… ‘… utilizing the revolutionary Presidential Truth Filter(PTF). The PTF operates like this: All presidential statements are recorded, and made into a huge database. The database is searchable by speech, phrase, keyword, emotional intensity, etc. In parallel, an analysis is made of the historical circumstances of the particular presidency. The question must be asked, what is this man (all men so far…) really all about? What is a defining characteristic of this presidency? The final question which must be addressed by the PTF is, how can we use the assets in the database to concatenate the truth, and make the President speak it? The first attempt was Bushwack, in 1992. This turned into a huge hit before the Presidential election in 1992, though BMI denied that it was ever on the air at all. Through October of that year, stations such as San Francisco’s Live105 were playing it almost hourly. In 1997 Rock The House was a popular download at an early digital music download startup, muzic.com. In 2003 Bushwack2 was released at about the start of the Iraq war. The mood of the song is quite grim, as the truth of those times was interpreted by the PTF. In 2004, the PTF was reprogrammed to emphasize economics and general silliness, and Fuzzy Math was born. A heartbreaking tragedy has brought the country together. Tejas, India's light combat aircraft fighter jet and heart of its self-reliance in the skies, crashed at the Dubai Air show Friday. The pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Syal, couldn't eject, and lost his life. He is survived by his wife, also an air force officer, and a 6-year-old daughter. Tejas has an excellent safety record, with only one crash last March in Jaisalmer due to engine failure. At that time, the pilot ejected safely. But this year's tragedy is heart-wrenching at so many levels—a national loss, a reputational loss and an irrecoverable loss of a qualified, experienced and skilled fighter pilot. For this episode of 'Worldview with Swasti', former fighter pilot Group Captain Ajay Ahlawat and I will break down many more layers of this unfortunate incident, its technical issues, the reputational damage to the Indian Air Force at a time when India's squadron strength is lowest, and its geopolitical impact amid a worsening security situation. Not to forget that while India lost an excellent fighter at Dubai, the Pakistan-China co-developed JF 17 got fresh orders at the same venue. Friends,When I was on my book tour for Hawk Mountain, I did an event with Andrea Lawlor where we spoke, at length, about horror. In the Q&A, someone raised a hand and asked:WHAT IS HORROR?Andrea and I both laughed. We found ourselves at a loss.Horror :Once you consider it, it's not clear.There's the assumption that horror is scary. Sometimes that's true. But obviously what's scary for you might not be scary for me, and vice versa, so that can't define the genre. We say horror has certain elements, but there are different kinds of horror to define its contours, whether it's body horror, slasher horror, cosmic horror...We might turn to the familiar face of horror - the monster - to see what they reveal to us. But while vampires, werewolves, zombies express, through their differing powers and weakness, different theories about horror, they can't give us a picture of what it is really. They're contained by it.Horror: Always on, always available, always around us. So… what is it?I asked my friends PHIL FORD and J.F. MARTEL - the cohosts of the WEIRD STUDIES PODCAST - onto the show to walk into the dark - or is it the blinding, malevolent light? - with me, and with you, to see what we would find there.Weird Studies is, in my experience of it, anyway, a horror podcast. In fact, my last conversation with Phil and J.F. was on Weird Studies and about horror: on Weird Studies 144, we looked into Clive Barker's Hellraiser and the book it's based on, The Hellbound Heart.But it's not a horror podcast because it's always focused on horror; many episodes are about topics and artworks that seem less than horrific (their series on each card in the major arcana of the tarot, for instance, or their episode on Herman Hesse's novel about enlightenment, Siddhartha). But there is a quality on each episode - a quality which we discuss in this conversation - of the threat of art, philosophy, image and sound. The way they invade our lives. Rearrange our organs Destroy the world we knew. In other words, we might think of horror as a position in time, something approaching or orbiting. Or as something creates shadows by blocking the light, or by creating a void where an object once was. You can hear me going in many directions again. Conversation with Phil and J.F. inspires that in me - being pulled in many directions at once. That's another way of thinking of horror: horror as blob; as spreading epidemic, as destroying giant, vaster than the safety of our shelters.This is what I love about talking with Phil and JF and about Weird Studies, and also why I often think of their podcast as the only true sibling to mine. In conversation with them, everything a springboard for everything. A web of connections. Photographer and paranormal researcher Shannon Taggart joins JF and Phil to explore the phenomenon that was Michael Jackson. One of the most brilliant and successful musicians of the modern era, Jackson was also a liminal figure sans pareil, a shapeshifter who defied the binary categories through which we order the human world. How do you design a world that honors Hawaiian history while telling a story on a global stage? For Production Designer Jean-François Campeau, the answer was equal parts creativity, cultural respect, and collaboration.
