It is officially the offseason for Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays, so our focus for the podcast has shifted as well, not only to the possible offseason moves, but a shift toward discovering more about the Rays community, the faces and people within the community, either those working for the team, covering the team, or fans of the team. In this first offseason episode, we talk to John Vittas, the radio voice of the Charlotte Stone Crabs, the current High-A affiliate of the Rays in Port Charlotte, Florida. Vittas, working out of the spring training home of the Rays, not only follows around the Stone Crabs, working as the Media Relations Manager for the team, he has been the on-field MC for Rays Spring Training the past few years and this year, worked in the radio booth for Rays Radio during some games. John was great to talk to and we hope you enjoy our conversation with him, talking a lot about the current state of the minor leagues and what to expect coming out of the Rays farm system in the next few years.
