Three-Inning Save: Tyler Glasnow to 60-day injured list

True Blue LA

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 10, 2026 28:22

The Dodgers moved Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day injured list over the weekend, pushing back his timeline for returning from back spasms until July 6 at the absolute earliest. Glasnow has been shut down from throwing. With Glasnow and Blake Snell out, we compare the Dodgers rotation this year to 2025, when those two were injured midseason but returned by August, giving the team a big four starters they rode to a championship in October and November. For now, the Dodgers have to first get through the next six weeks until the All-Star break, but with strong performances by Roki Sasaki, Justin Wrobleski, and Emmet Sheehan, the pitching depth is in a much better place in 2026. Plus more on Nick Frasso, now back on the 40-man roster, what's next for River Ryan, and more. The Three-Inning Save is part of Bleav Network. Hosted by Eric Stephen and Jacob Burch, with questions from Craig Minami. Produced by Brian Salvatore. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Rams said 'F them picks' yet again as they trade for reigning DPOY, Myles Garrett. The Dodgers are in a groove after taking 2 of 3 from the Phillies but got some tough news on Graterol and Glasnow. Also, an awful bit of news from Tanner Scott's wife when it comes to fans (if you can even call them that) on social media. Kiké Hernandez returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup and immediately made his presence known with an RBI double. The rest of the Dodgers offense showed up late and got a win for Kyle Hurt, who had previously allowed the first run an LA reliever has allowed in a long time. The Dodgers got run-scoring productive outs from Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts in that rally, plus RBI hits from Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages. Add it all up and the Dodgers beat the Rockies, 5-3. In other news, we got injury updates on Max Muncy, Tyler Glasnow, Tommy Edman, Edwin Diaz, and Brock Stewart. Jeff Snider and Clint Pasillas dig into all of it and more on this episode! Tyler Glasnow is pitching like an absolute ace, but his history of back issues and a current workload of 140 projected innings make him the ultimate sell-high candidate. Joe and Corey debate whether to flip him now for a slow-starting superstar before the inevitable injury risk catches up to his elite surface stats. The waiver wire is filled with multi-positional assets this week, including Casey Schmidt, Brooks Lee, and Andrew Vaughn. The guys also look at Brice Matthews, Bryson Stott, and pitchers Payton Tolle and Max Meyer, though they question if these arms are being overlooked in too many leagues. Agustin Ramirez is officially this week's rage drop after being sent down to Triple-A to work on his defense. Other drops discussed include Jung Hoo Lee, Tanner Bibee, and Emmet Sheehan, with the hosts noting that Sheehan's increased home run rate and hard contact make him someone else's problem. Rankings risers are led by Brandon Marsh, Jordan Walker, and Mickey Moniak, while Jack Perkins is surging as the potential new lockdown closer for the Athletics. Fallers include Rafael Devers, Luis Robert Jr., Joe Ryan, Spencer Strider, and Bubba Chandler, who is struggling significantly with his command. In the trade market, Corey Seager and Logan Webb stand out as premier buy-low targets despite their slow starts. Eury Perez remains an upside play, while Oneil Cruz and Justin Wrobleski join Glasnow as players to move now while their value is peaking. Tyler Glasnow left his start after just one inning with back tightness, and Cole Ragens was pulled after 3 IP with a 3 mph velo drop and left tricep/elbow soreness. Both situations are worth monitoring closely heading into the weekend, and Joe Bond has the fantasy fallout on today's episode. Joe runs through the Rankings Risers and Fallers, with Brandon Marsh, Jordan Walker, Mickey Moniak, and Jack Perkins trending up, while Zach Neto, Luis Robert Jr., Joe Ryan, Spencer Strider, and Bubba Chandler are trending down. Rafael Devers shows up on both sides of the ledger. On Studs and Duds, Andy Pages, Marcus Semien, Rafael Devers, Andrew Vaughn, Jack Flaherty, Bryan Woo, Paul Skenes, and Shane McClanahan stood out, while Munetaka Murakami, Bryce Eldridge, Teoscar Hernandez, and Gunnar Henderson had rough outings. Today's FanDuel Bet of the Day features Nico Hoerner at 2+ Hits, Runs, and RBI at -160, or the longer shot at 3+ for +140. The guys start the show off reacting to last night's Lakers loss in Game 1 to the OKC Thunder... LeBron carried the load once again, but it wasn't enough! Is there more hope or fear after that loss? If LeBron gives you a near-perfect performance and you still lose by 18 - does this series end in 4 or 5, or is there a path if the role players wake up? The biggest story was Austin Reaves no-showing - again! He had the worst FG% by any Laker in a playoff game in 35 years! Which one is it - "he's still hurt" or "this is who he really is in the playoffs"?? Dodgers talk! Berg's 3 things... Well, welcome back, daylight burners. How the hell are ya? Spent yesterday arguing with AI chatbots and my shit wasn't working, but the studio's finally alive again, so let's talk some damn baseball. We kick it off with Tarik Skubal's elbow surgery — loose bodies in there, Tigers' ace on the shelf, and the only real news from Monday turning into a "well, that's not ideal" situation. Then we roll through scores from around the league: Red Sox pounding the Motor City Kitties, Jays dropping one to a hot Rays club, Yankees and Royals rolling, Reds reeling, and everybody else stuck around .500. Framber Valdez decides Trevor Story's been tipping signs and buries one in his back, benches clear, and we get into where "stealing signs the right way" ends and "you're just being a dumbass" begins. Christopher Sanchez absolutely shoves it right up the A's ass, Severino pitches good enough to win, and the bullpen finds a way to light it on fire anyway. Then it's the injury and transaction dump: Skubal's elbow, Carlos Correa's bad ankle, Acuña's hammy, Shea Langeliers on the paternity list, Jonah Heim back to the A's for catcher depth, and a pile of arms bouncing between the IL and rehab assignments. Standings talk: AL Central is straight booty with not a single winning record, AL West is mid while the A's somehow hang on with a negative run differential, Braves are a wagon, Cubs are rolling in a loaded NL Central, Reds cooling off, Pirates way better than anyone expected, and the Giants and Rockies both suck at their own pace. We wrap it with today's pitching matchups worth a damn: McClanahan vs Corbin, Glasnow vs McCullers, Wheeler vs Springs, Paul Skenes vs Soroka, and a bunch of dudes who are either shoving or getting touched up. Segment One: Clippers Pummel the Bucks in Intuit Dome Statement The Los Angeles Clippers looked unstoppable on Monday night, dismantling the Milwaukee Bucks 129–96. Grant reacts to a clinic in offensive efficiency that saw the Clippers shoot 58% from the field and a perfect 18-of-18 from the charity stripe. Kawhi's Efficiency: We hear from Kawhi Leonard, who needed just 25 minutes to drop 28 points. Kawhi discusses the team's "locked-in" mentality as they fight back to .500 (36–36). The New Engine: Darius Garland (15 points, 6 assists) talks about the ball movement that led to 17 made threes, while Kobe Sanders reacts to his 19-point breakout off the bench. Ty Lue's Take: Coach Lue discusses the defensive game plan that held Milwaukee to under 100 points and how this two-game win streak is the "blueprint" for the final ten games of the regular season. Segment Two: The Roki Sasaki Dilemma As the Dodgers wrap up the Freeway Series against the Angels, the spotlight isn't on the stars, but on the No. 4 starter. Grant breaks down the concerning final spring outing for Roki Sasaki, who struggled with his command in a 2-inning, 6-walk performance. Dave Roberts' Admission: We hear from "Doc" on the decision to keep Sasaki in the Opening Day rotation despite a 15.58 Spring ERA. Roberts discusses the "betting on talent" philosophy and the need for Sasaki to find his fastball command before his first regular-season start. Roki Speaks: Through a translator, Roki Sasaki addresses his "overthrowing" and the adjustments he's making to the MLB ball. Is it just spring jitters, or a deeper mechanical issue? We discuss Mookie's decision, what it means for Team USA, and why family always comes first. Tyler Glasnow also addressed recent trade rumors and shared his excitement about the idea of playing alongside Tarik Skubal if the Dodgers were to land him. We break down what that would mean for the rotation and whether the buzz has real legs. Plus, more WBC news, roster chatter, and live fan reactions throughout the show. Later, Dodgers broadcaster Eric Karros (28:45) shares a more in-depth preview of Glasnow's start, how the Jays' bats should approach Shohei Ohtani in Game 4, if there are still hard feelings for the LA faithful over Scherzer's time with the Dodgers, and the impact of the shadows at Dodger Stadium. In this pregame episode of the All Dodgers podcast, Jeff Snider delivers important updates centered around the Dodgers' pitching and injury situation ahead of their game against the Baltimore Orioles. The primary news is the scratching of starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow due to back tightness, a recurring issue that raises some concern given his injury history. Shohei Ohtani is set to start in Glasnow's place, although he is expected to have a limited outing of three to four innings due to a recent illness that caused him to miss a start. The podcast also provides updates on other key injured Dodgers players including Max Muncy, Tommy Edman, Will Smith, and several pitchers on rehab assignments or sidelined for the season. There is optimism about the possible return of some players like Muncy and Edman in the coming weeks, which could bolster the struggling Dodgers offense and improve defensive alignment. The bullpen is expected to be heavily relied upon in today's game, but the Dodgers remain favorites to win despite the pitching shuffle. Additional mentions include the ongoing management of Will Smith's hand injury and the status of several pitchers unlikely to return this year. The episode concludes with encouragement to follow the Dodgers community on social media and the podcast's Discord server for more real-time updates and discussions. Former MLB Pitcher Josh Towers and Scott Seidenberg discuss the latest around Major League Baseball. Juan Soto's struggles, the Dodgers slump and futures bets to make right now! In this episode, Scott Seidenberg and Josh Towers dissect a range of MLB storylines, with a heavy focus on Juan Soto's troubled transition to the Mets. Soto's recent on-field behavior—particularly his lack of hustle on a hit off the Green Monster and only securing one hit across three games against the Yankees—sparked criticism. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza announced plans to speak with Soto about his effort. Towers emphasized how professional athletes are expected to hustle regardless of performance, especially when part of a new organization. He critiqued Soto's declining stats (.246 average in 2025, subpar defense) and called out the media narrative that built him up unrealistically since his 2020 breakout. He believes the $765 million valuation raised unsustainable expectations. Michael Kay, based on conversations with Mets and Yankees insiders, claimed Soto appears “glum” and without joy. Soto reportedly preferred to remain a Yankee, but his family urged him to accept the Mets' offer. Towers, who played for both franchises, praised the Yankees for their professionalism and structure, saying it fosters respect and accountability. In contrast, he noted that the Mets, while improving, still lack the Yankees' foundational stability. Scott and Josh then evaluated the NL East race. Seidenberg endorsed betting on the Phillies to win the division at +130, noting their strong veteran core (Harper, Schwarber, Wheeler) and manager Dave Dombrowski's history of bold moves. Josh echoed this but pointed out the Phillies' need for young talent infusion, something they've lacked in recent years. They also discussed the Braves' resurgence, who started 0-8 but have since gone 24-15, with key players like Max Fried returning. Shifting to the Dodgers, both hosts criticized Dave Roberts' pitching management. The team's constant injuries and overuse of bullpen arms have led to four consecutive home losses. Towers questioned the effectiveness of the organization's throwing programs and training strategies. Despite Yamamoto's reliability, the rest of the rotation, including Snell, Glasnow, and Kershaw, remains inconsistent or injured. Fried's Cy Young candidacy was explored in depth. With a 1.29 ERA and consistent dominance, Josh called him the clear front-runner. Other contenders like Robbie Ray, Hunter Brown, and Chris Bubik were noted, though Fried's consistency set him apart. On the offensive side, Pete Crow Armstrong's recent surge sparked MVP speculation, but Josh dismissed it due to his relatively weak OBP and limited consistency. Attention turned to the Texas Rangers, whose rotation (deGrom, Eovaldi, Mowley) and improving offense make them serious contenders. The coaching shift toward personalized, non-analytic-heavy hitting plans has improved their situational batting. They also discussed trade rumors including Bo Bichette, Kenley Jansen, and Sandy Alcantara potentially moving before the deadline. The Orioles and Rockies came under fire for poor development. The Rockies' minus-150 run differential led Scott to predict they might break the all-time worst record. Josh argued that both teams lack direction and accountability, especially with player growth and clubhouse culture. Lastly, home field advantage in 2025 has reached historic levels, with home teams winning 56.5% of games, the best rate since 2005. Betting trends show high returns for home favorites, and Seidenberg emphasized this is a year to follow such patterns. The hosts closed with MVP and Cy Young betting odds, a promo for Pregame.com, and a final note on the season's unpredictability and remaining opportunities. Learn more about your ad choices.
