# We are overjoyed to welcome back ACB'S President, Dan Spoone. We will talk about 2020, 2021 and will end with a discussion of the Voting Task Force. Dan must leave us to go to a meeting of that group so I thought we might use his discussion of where the group is and what plans there are to springboard a discussion of the whole voting issue for the last half hour of the show. There is an old saying that says: "a one-eyed man is king in the country of the blind." Only ten percent of those who are legally blind are totally blind according to statistics I have seen. In ACB, how are partials doing? Are they represented in proportion to their numbers? If not, why not? Do the issues facing people with some usable vision get enough attention in our resolutions or in our policy efforts? Should we be doing more to encourage the participation of people with some vision? These are just some of the questions that we explore in this episode of Tuesday Topics. My co-producer of Tuesday Topics will be featured during the first hour to tell us more about how he herded cats and juggled streams during the convention. Rick Morin was awesome and I want him to tell us more about how he did what he did and I hope he will tell us about some of the scary moments that we didn't notice because he fixed them just in time. It seems ridiculous given the avalanche of information we are getting this week at the convention for me to be suggesting that you plan to listen to something else next week. ACB Radio was once again proud to broadcast live National Braille Press' “A Million Laughs for Literacy Gala” Thursday beginning at 6:30 PM Eastern, from the Museum of Science Blue Wing in Boston, MA where the full-size Tyrannosaurus rex model oversaw the festivities. For more than 15 years, the A Million Laughs for Literacy Gala has raised millions to support National Braille Press' Braille Literacy Programs which exist to ensure blind and visually impaired children are given an equal chance to read. Braille typically costs three times more to produce than the same materials in print, but NBP strives to make sure blind individuals do not have to pay more for the same information. Thursday's Gala features comedian Pat McGann. Pat is a stand-up comedian and television host from Chicago. In 2015, he made his second appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Pat created and hosted the Emmy-nominated television show The Chicago Stand Up Project. He has been invited to The Great American Comedy Festival, Laugh Fest, The Lucille Ball Comedy Festival and has been heard on the nationally-syndicated The Bob and Tom Show as well as seen on AXS-TV's Gotham Comedy Live. His debut comedy album Sounds Good can be heard on Sirius/XM radio. Brian Charlson and Rick Morin host the event.
