Matt Meyer is a member of the Boulder Underground team, a running and strength coach at Revo Physiotherapy and Sports Performance, and owns a 2:34 marathon PR. With the help of an impressively high mileage training schedule, Matt's hoping to demolish that PR with a 2:25 this December at CIM (California International Marathon). Matt can now handle mileage that's jaw dropping to most of us. In our conversation, Matt and I discuss the the details of high mileage running: The necessity of balancing very easy and very hard running Why running requires having a continuous conversation with your body How strength work builds a foundation for durability The importance of seeing every training block as a stepping stone How to pick the low hanging fruit when it comes to recovery (hint: eat and sleep!) Why training PRs are just as important as race PRs No matter how many miles you run each week, there's a lot to be learned from my conversation with Matt. Enjoy! DESCRIPTION Today we are sharing a sneaky bonus episode for Season Two. Initially, this episode was only going to our private Tips & Tricks for Women Living with POP - Facebook group. Then after listening through after production, I was like, how can I not share this with everyone who tunes into this podcast? Because you might find some things in here that are really helpful for you as a parent in terms of how to start conversations about pelvic sexual health with your own children. DESCRIPTION In today's episode, our guest is one of the first women that we are speaking to who lives with pelvic organ prolapse and has not yet become a mum. That's right, Natashja was only 18 when she discovered that she had prolapse. Now, I don't want give too much of her story away, but I do just want to let you know when I welcome her to the show you are going to hear me call her Simone and you might think, oh, Steph's losing the plot. She doesn't even have the name of her guest right. I've only ever known her as Simone and I think we need to address this point. When Natasha first started her prolapse journey and started talking about it openly, she had so much fear of the shame and taboo of talking about women's pelvic health and then the extra layer of being so young and then the extra layer of not yet being a mum. So Natasha started her Instagram account and called herself Simone as a pseudonym as a level of protection, I guess. And I am so proud of her. I'm so proud of her for sharing her journey with us today because she is so brave to be able to do that.
