Trump Sues Wall Street Journal Over Epstein Birthday Letter Allegation President Trump files a lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal and News Corp over a report claiming he drew a suggestive birthday card for Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. Trump calls the letter fake and denies the language or drawing style matches his. Bryan explains this is what prompted Trump to denounce the Epstein case earlier this week and argues the leak may be tied to fired DOJ official Maurene Comey. Congress Moves to Slash Billions from Global Aid and Public Broadcasting The House is expected to approve a rescissions bill that cuts $9 billion from foreign aid and media outlets like NPR and PBS. Democrats call the cuts cruel, while Trump's budget chief confirms more clawback bills are coming. Thailand Ups Tariff Offer to Avoid Trade Penalties Thailand increases its offer to allow 90% of U.S. goods tariff-free, part of Trump's broader strategy to open global markets for American products. The White House has not yet said if it will accept the revised deal. 93% Tariff on Chinese Graphite Set to Boost U.S. Mining The U.S. announces steep tariffs on graphite imports from China, a critical mineral for batteries and aerospace. The move is expected to revive domestic projects in Alaska, Alabama, and Louisiana that have long struggled to compete with Chinese state-subsidized graphite. Trump Halts Plan to Remove Columbia River Hydropower Dams Reversing a Biden-era decision, Trump defends the Pacific Northwest's dams from removal. The decision preserves 24/7 electricity for AI data centers, agriculture, and irrigation, while ensuring continued barge access for inland cities like Lewiston, Idaho. Coca-Cola Drops Corn Syrup Under Health Secretary RFK Jr.'s Push The company will shift from high-fructose corn syrup to sugar, a change long advocated by Health Secretary Bobby Kennedy Jr. Farmers in the Midwest worry about lost income, while Florida and Brazil sugar producers stand to gain. Ice Cream Industry to Remove Synthetic Dyes by 2027 Forty major ice cream brands will eliminate petroleum-derived colorants, but the transition will take years due to the farming cycles of natural color sources like beets. New Delays for Air Force One Due to Security Clearance Issues Skilled workers at Boeing's Seattle plant are failing security screenings, slowing production of the next presidential jets. Even the Qatar 747, once floated as a backup, will need similar vetting. Chinese Investors Buying Up U.S. Homes in Record Numbers Chinese buyers spent $13.7 billion on U.S. homes this year, up 83 percent, mostly in Democrat-led states like California. Bryan raises concerns about affordability and national security. China Pushes to Control Panama Canal Deal, Trump May Respond Beijing threatens to block a port sale in Panama unless its state-owned firm COSCO gets a share. Trump is reportedly furious and may use military pressure to prevent Chinese involvement in canal operations. Ukraine Proposes Drone-for-Weapons Swap with U.S. President Zelenskyy offers U.S. access to battlefield-hardened drone technology in exchange for American missile systems. Trump is reportedly intrigued, and Bryan calls it a win-win—though argues we should get the tech for free. Study Links Bright Evening Light to Heart Risk Australian researchers find that excessive nighttime light exposure increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure by up to 45 percent. Bryan urges listeners to shut off devices before bed—or just go full Amish. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." – John 8:32

1976 - Lewiston, Maine. In the early hours of a November morning in 1976, Dorothy “Dotty” Milliken left her home  to do some late-night laundry in Lewiston, Maine. She never made it back. A local paperboy found her body just before dawn, outside Beal's Laundromat. She had been beaten to death in what police called a frenzied attack. Tonia was just seven when her mother was killed—a traumatic loss that reshaped the course of her family's future. In the years since, she's worked to understand what happened. Now, a new book revisits the case, pulling together decades of theories, suspects, new interviews, and questions to form a possible picture of that night. But police are still missing a critical piece of the puzzle: the person that knows who killed Dorothy Milliken. Robert Bergmann, CEO and Director of Relevant Gold Corp. (TSXV:RGC) (OTCQB:RGCCF), joins us to introduce this gold exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, discovery, and development of district-scale gold projects, and is applying an Abitibi-style geological modeling to projects in the state of Wyoming.  Their land concessions cover both the Bradley Peak Camp and South Pass Camp with 5 key projects and 17 targets to explore for orogenic gold.   The Company just announced on June 11th that it has received both State and Federal permit approvals for a fully-funded 5,000-meter drill program on the Apex target at the Bradley Peak Gold Camp in central Wyoming. This drill campaign is the first ever at the Apex Target and is integral to the Company's 2025 exploration program. Mobilization has begun and drilling is expected to commence soon.   Robert outlines why the team is so interested in this Apex Target from an orogenic gold perspective, and provides some context on their overall Bradley Peak Gold Camp.   Then we shift over to their South Pass Camp, which has 4 Projects: Golden Buffalo, Lewiston, Shield-Carissa, and Windy Flats. The Company did 2 prior drill programs at the Lewiston Project, and drilling in at the Golden Buffalo project the prior 2 years, and will be doing more mapping, sampling, and surveying of these properties this year to vector in on more targets for future drilling.   Wrapping up we cover the geological experience and business acumen of the management team and board, key strategic shareholders like Kinross, William Bollinger, and Rob McEwen, and the capital structure.  The company has ~ $8 million in the treasury to carry out this drill program and execute on future work initiatives.   If you have any questions for Robert regarding Relevant Gold, then please email us at Fleck@kereport.com or Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to follow the latest news on Relevant Gold

“Students will often refer to voice lessons, to choir rehearsal, as therapy. I felt that there was something to that. I wanted to make the connection between individual therapy and voice lessons and group therapy and the choral rehearsal. What is it about the choral organism that becomes a space that can be therapeutic? I found a lot of commonalities in group and individual counseling and what we do.”Dr. Sarah J. Graham was just promoted to Professor of Music at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, where she teaches courses in music, humanities, ethics, and conducts the Concert Choir. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Whitworth University, a Master of Arts in Classroom Teaching and English from Pacific Lutheran University, and both a Masters and Doctorate in Music Conducting from Michigan State University. She is currently finishing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Capella University in Minneapolis. Dr. Graham has been teaching for over thirty years, twenty of which have been in higher education. Much of her current work has to do with mental health and teaching pedagogy. Sales Gravy: Jeb Blount
How to Use Data and the Right Tools to Build Your Sales Plan (Ask Jeb)

Sales Gravy: Jeb Blount

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 15, 2025 19:42 Transcription Available

Eric in Lewiston, Maine, asks how to use last year's data to create and accurate sales plans and evaluate software tools (like CRMs and ZoomInfo) to make those goals happen. Sales planning is vital—without a roadmap, you're just hoping your revenue targets magically come to life. If you haven't defined clear performance metrics—like call activity, lead generation, conversion rates, or daily prospecting targets—then you don't really have a plan. You have a wish list. Looking Back at Last Year: Which Metrics Matter? Eric wanted to know which metrics from the previous year he and his team should be analyzing to inform this year's targets. The short answer? All of them, if they are metrics that matter to your business goals. Consider: Conversion Rates from Inbound Leads Speed to Lead (How fast are you following up?) Outbound Touches vs. Opportunities in Pipeline Opportunities-to-Proposal Ratios Proposal-to-Closed Deals Ratios Upsells, Cross-Sells, and Expansion Deals By mapping out how each step in your funnel converts to the next—calls to first appointments, first appointments to proposals, proposals to closed deals—you can see exactly where to focus in the new sales year. Maybe you need more first appointments. Maybe you need to tighten up your proposals so more of them convert. Or maybe you're missing upsell opportunities with existing clients. Data points you to the gaps. Pro Tip: Once you understand your ratios, you can decide if you're aiming to improve them by, say, 25% (a stretch goal) or if you're reaching higher. However, be careful not to “fix” one area and inadvertently break another. Success in sales is about balance across the entire funnel. Choosing the Right CRM: Beware of Overkill Eric also mentioned his team's struggle with an outdated CRM that's not built for strong tracking. As they look ahead, they're weighing big guns like Salesforce. But here's the deal: Salesforce is an excellent platform—if you're a larger organization with the bandwidth, budget, and complexity to justify it. For smaller teams (like Eric's with just two salespeople), adopting a massive enterprise CRM can be overkill. Zoho, Pipedrive, Nimble, and HubSpot are great alternatives for small-to-midsize sales teams. They're user-friendly, more cost-effective, and far simpler to deploy. The rule of thumb? Choose a CRM that matches your current size and selling process. The last thing you want is to waste months configuring a powerhouse system that nobody uses because it's too big or too confusing. Making Sense of “Big Data” Tools Like ZoomInfo Eric's final question was about whether to invest in a data-intelligence tool (e.g., ZoomInfo, Apollo, LeadIQ) to identify new leads and tap into “intent data.” My take: ZoomInfo: This is what we use at Sales Gravy, and we love it. It delivers reliable data, helps us expand into new verticals, multi-thread inside target accounts, and dramatically speeds up our list building. Intent Data: Tools like ZoomInfo can show you who's actively looking for solutions like yours. While it's not perfect, it can be a game-changer for prioritizing outreach to the prospects most likely to buy. Beware the Shelfware Trap: If you invest in a high-end data platform, make sure you have a solid plan (and the discipline) to use it consistently. It's easy to drop serious money on software and then let it collect dust. Pro Tip: Start with a limited number of “power users” on your team who will commit to mastering the tool. Then expand usage as you integrate it into your sales workflow. How We Made It Work: A Cautionary Tale We've been using ZoomInfo for years. Early on, we blew through a lot of money because we didn't fully implement it. It wasn't until we got serious—trained our people, integrated it with our CRM, and held each other accountable—that we started seeing results. Today, ZoomInfo is essential to how we prospect, grow pipeline,

Mike and his partner, Cindy Workman, didn't realize anything was wrong, and went on a camping trip the next morning. It wouldn't be until they returned that they realized their son had never come home after his trip to the gas station. A search party was formed immediately, but despite many tips, including the names of people who may have been involved in Shane's disappearance, Mike says that Lewistown Police quickly lost interest. After seven years, Shane is still missing, but his family is still fighting for Shane and for justice.Anyone with information regarding Shane Workman's disappearance is urged to contact Detective Jeromy Poff with the Lewistown Police Department at 814-445-4104.Buy the ebook! - And Then They Were Gone: True Stories of Those Who Went Missing and Never Came HomeSubmit a caseFind us everywhereGet episodes early and ad-free on PatreonMerch storeFor a full list of our sources, please visit our blogBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/and-then-they-were-gone--5360779/support.
