Eclesiastés 9:4 "Aún hay esperanza para todo aquel que está entre los vivos; porque mejor es perro vivo que león muerto”.La frase "mejor es perro vivo que león muerto", es un dicho bíblico de Eclesiastés 9:4 que significa que mientras haya vida hay esperanza. La frase enfatiza que un ser vivo, tiene más potencial para el futuro y puede hacer cosas, a diferencia de un ser poderoso que está muerto y no puede hacer nada. Denota la importancia de la vida y la esperanza que viene con ella, compara la vida de un ser humilde pero vivo, con la de un ser poderoso pero muerto, para resaltar que la vida es preferible a la muerte, por lo tanto mientras la tengamos tenemos que procurar “Ser Feliz”.Salomón fue el tercer y último rey del reino unido de Israel, después del rey Saúl y el rey David. Él fue el hijo de David y Betsabé, la ex esposa de Urías el hitita que David había matado para ocultar su adulterio con Betsabé, mientras su marido estaba en el frente de batalla. Salomón escribió el Cantar de los Cantares, el libro del Eclesiastés, y una gran parte del libro de los Proverbios.Cuando Salomón llegó al trono, buscó a Dios y Dios le dio la oportunidad de pedir lo que quería. Salomón reconoció humildemente su incapacidad para gobernar bien y desinteresadamente le pidió a Dios la sabiduría que necesitaría para gobernar justamente al pueblo de Dios. Dios le dio sabiduría y también riqueza.Salomón completó muchos proyectos de construcción, también construyó una flota de buques y adquirió toneladas de oro de Ofir con Hiram, rey de Tiro, su aliado, el proyecto de construcción más importante de Salomón era terminar el templo judío, por instrucciones y disposiciones de su padre David.Salomón tuvo 700 esposas y 300 concubinas, muchas de ellas extranjeras que lo llevaron a la idolatría en su vejez, enojando grandemente a Dios, 1 Reyes 11:1-13, en 1 Reyes 11:9-10 Dice:  "Y se enojó el Señor contra Salomón, por cuanto su corazón se había apartado del Señor Dios de Israel, que se le había aparecido dos veces, y le había mandado acerca de esto, que no siguiese a dioses ajenos; mas él no guardó lo que le mandó el Señor". Hay muchas lecciones que podemos aprender de la vida de Salomón:Cuando buscamos a Dios con todo nuestro corazón, lo encontraremos (1 Reyes 3:3-7). Aquellos que honran a Dios, Él los honrara (1 Reyes 3:11-13; 1 Samuel 2:30). Dios nos capacitará para llevar a cabo las tareas a las cuales nos llama, si confiamos en Él.La vida espiritual es una maratón, no una carrera de velocidad. Un buen comienzo no siempre es suficiente para terminar bien (1 Reyes 3; 11).Podemos sinceramente pedirle a Dios que incline nuestro corazón hacia Él (1 Reyes 8:57-58), pero vamos a caminar fuera del camino de rectitud si elegimos violar Su Palabra.Vivir la vida sin Dios no tiene sentido, así tengamos educación, objetivos cumplidos, placeres y abundancia de riqueza.Al final, Salomón escribió en Eclesiastés 12:13-14 “El fin de todo el discurso oído es este: Teme a Dios, y guarda sus mandamientos; porque esto es el todo del hombre. Porque Dios traerá toda obra a juicio, juntamente con toda cosa encubierta, sea buena o sea mala”.Tomando estas enseñanzas, quiero compartir la manera como Salomón considera una vida llena de felicidad, en otras palabras, “Como ser feliz”.Salomón nos enseña la realidad inevitable de la muerte para toda persona. Todas las personas comparten este mismo destino. En última instancia, nuestra vida y el día señalado en que moriremos están en manos de Dios; por tanto, debemos apreciar la vida y aprovecharla al máximo mientras aún tengamos aliento. Salomón afirma: "Aún hay esperanza para todo aquel que está entre los vivos; porque mejor es perro vivo que león muerto”.Puesto que al final todo el mundo muere, es inútil e insensato pasar nuestros días en la búsqueda sin sentido de cosas como el poder, la fortuna y la fama. La muerte rebaja al majestuoso león a una posición inferior a la del perro vivo, a un estado de nada. Dios nos da una sola vida, una oportunidad inestimable de conocerle y recibir la salvación, Isaías 55:6 “Buscad a Jehová mientras puede ser hallado, llamadle en tanto que está cercano”; Si nunca pensamos en la muerte y en nuestro destino eterno, probablemente perderemos la oportunidad de pasar la eternidad con Él.Esta Palabra de Eclesiastés 9:4 nos lleva ineludiblemente a Eclesiastés 9:5-10 “Porque los que viven saben que han de morir; pero los muertos nada saben, ni tienen más paga; porque su memoria es puesta en olvido. También su amor y su odio y su envidia fenecieron ya; y nunca más tendrán parte en todo lo que se hace debajo del sol. Todo lo que te viniere a la mano para hacer, hazlo según tus fuerzas; porque en el Seol, adonde vas, no hay obra, ni trabajo, ni ciencia, ni sabiduría” y de aquí surge esta pregunta ¿Cuántas veces hemos dicho o hemos escuchado “Después de muerto ya pa que”? Salomón del cual estamos hablando; Tuvo todo lo que nosotros podríamos pensar que se necesita para ser feliz, pero al final de sus días nos mostró que eso no era la felicidad; “Fama, carros, caballos, mujeres, palacios, reputación, todas las riquezas, oro, plata, etc”, todo y Salomón deja ver que la vida se pasa rápido, que la muerte no da aviso, que la vida de una persona puede aparentemente tenerlo todo y estar demasiado vacía, por lo tanto esto es una invitación a través del pasaje bíblico, a que podamos aprovechar cada momento de nuestra vida.Hay mucha gente que dice “estoy esperando en Dios”, “estoy orando para que Dios haga algo” y lo que tienen en su corazón es pereza y dejadez, muchos se han convertido en personas perezosas, andan en desidia, no tienen propósito y no saben de donde vienen ni para donde van y yo quiero decirle algo, hay cosas que Dios nos da para hacer en el momento, pero si no las hacemos no las podríamos hacer nunca mas, recuerde que si no aprovechamos cada instante de nuestro tiempo, simplemente se nos va y no lo podemos recuperar.Ahora bien, sabemos que la muerte es una realidad, pero es necesario que entiendas, que aunque tememos morir, no por eso tenemos que desperdiciar el privilegio que Dios nos ha dado de vivir y ser feliz. Lo malo no es morir, lo terrible es vivir sin propósito.Al avanzar en el texto me tropiezo en verso 7 con una expresión “Anda…, adelante…” ese término “Anda…” no trata de una sugerencia, sino que es una orden que Dios está dando a través de la Palabra “Así que come tus alimentos con alegría, bebe tu vino con corazón contento porque Dios lo aprueba” y remata diciendo “Vístete con ropa blanca, elegante y échate un poco de perfume”. Hay cosas que pueden ser realmente sencillas ya que lo que Salomón no enseña es “muévete, disfruta lo que Dios te he dado, los años que Dios te ha entregado, disfruta lo que tienes ahora y no esperes un mañana diciendo: Luego lo haré”.Observa que estas cosas y estos detalles son más fáciles de tener de lo que pensamos tu y yo, Dios te dio las cosas sencillas para que las disfrutes justamente ahora que Dios te ha dado ese regalo llamado vida, no esperes morir para ir a decir: Gracias, te amo; es en vida que se dan las pal...
