Donna is thrilled about the Atlanta Hawks taking Game 6. Cadillac Jack wants Donna to name three Hawks. The first segment is when we talk about drugs. Then Donna and Cadillac Jack get married. Plus, we say goodbye to @ATLCadillac. It's a wavy first 20 minutes of the podcast.  After that we cover the Fathers Day Dinner fail. It was an 80-mile trip to nowhere, through a tropical storm, only to miss the Not-So-OK-Cafe. Sad day on Highway 20, in the words of the great Zac Brown. Been on one? Let us know. 7704646024.

It's a wiley coyote day here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.  First off, Ned Beatty has passed away. Where the Red Fern Grows, All the President's Men, Deliverance. They're all ways we'll remember the great Ned, and we take a moment to recognize them. Then Donna kicks uss off by playing Caddy his birthday Cameo. It was a bargain buy and… it shows. You'll hear the full seven seconds and exactly why Donna wants a refund. Blake Shelton built a chapel for Gwen Stefani. We repeat, Blake Shelton built a chapel. Meanwhile, Donna and Cadillac Jack are having problems with their fire alarm. One of these things is not like the other. Donna brings us back to earth with the thoughtful songwriting of Brothers Osborne. It's a few surreal moments in an episode of haywire. It doesn't take long before Caddy starts talking about his master propane and baiters. Needless to say, this show takes the ‘E' flag pretty quickly. Before the end of the show the Jacks explain a bit about naming rights and the new tours from Alan Jackson and Eric Clapton. Donna takes us out on one noteworthy bit- Kim Jong Un is a mean guy.

It’s a rootin’ tootin’ enlarging episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act.  Donna is longing for some friendly physical action. She feels like we all could use a little more platonic loving. It’s a bug that has spread like COVID and is taking a toll on the Jack household. The good thing is that as of last week, she’s vaccinated. Cadillac Jack? Not so much. He’s more concerned about the fact that easter bunny sales are up. No kidding. Donna worked at Cumberland Mall back in the day and every Spring they had a rule- if you’re late, you wear the bunny suit. Give you one guess who was late.  Kenny Chesney made the call. Donna and Cadillac Jack are huge fans of Kenney and consider themselves a member of No Shoes Nation. They fulfill their semi-music podcast designation by announcing some news from the man himself. As a pair who have participated in their fair share of Chesney parties, it’s a bit of a let down. At the end of the day, “I won’t take chances with those that I love.”  Then Donna’s hype song leads the show down memory lane. The last time she heard Earth, Wind and Fire, Cadillac Jack was officiating a wedding in Charleston. If you don’t remember, Caddy was ordained on the side of the highway. That’s not a joke- he really is available to officiate weddings and funerals. As he was quick to point out, “I do the back end as well.”  We cover shrimp tails and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. If you haven’t seen the story, fellow podcaster @JensenKarp found some little critters in his cereal. Caddy and Donna set the stage for what they’re betting will be a story all year. Cadillac’s prediction? It’s the end of General Mills.  Plus some great news for Cadillac Jack and every other heart attack survivor. Dr. Oz has a new recommendation: Viagra. “It’s the dipstick to a man’s health.” And what’s even better than the little blue pill? Donna’s Appy segment. It’s a way for folks to easily fill their time (and their pockets). Cadillac Jack is thinking of applying to be a host. Just not that kind of host. Can anyone help him with his ZipRecruiter profile?  Follow Caddy @atlcadillac or text him at 7704646024. New shows every Tuesday and Thursday of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act.

Someone mailed Donna a fruitcake. So if that’s you, thanks! Also, why? To fulfill our semi-music category, there a couple industry hits on the agenda: ERNEST, a new country artist inspired by a blend of Eminem and George Strait.  Thomas Rhett is off Instagram and his fans are off Thomas Rhett  A new piece from Eminem himself Caddy and Donna went on vacation but went incognito. Would you go to Disney World right now? Would you really?  Postal workers must be done. They’re really over it. Caddy wants to know how much smack they’re getting right now. Donna explains and asks a couple questions about the interworkings of USPS.  Caddy takes the next segment to make a confession. Then if you’re wondering, there is no fondant on a Dairy Queen cake. Caddy would know, because he just went to DQ to get himself a cake. A whole cake. Then Donna went to DQ herself and spent $72. $72. One more time: $72.  The bit transitions to a story about a man who has a relationship with the most dangerous animal in South Africa. Then another story about a plane crash that revealed a love affair. It’s a jam packed and sporadic episode. You’ll love it.

Donna and Caddy brought their ham receipts on today’s episode of My Second Act. It’s a quick coverage of all things Honey-Baked, including what to do if you (or your hubby) forgets to order one.  Then Donna tells the story of what Olivia thought of Zach Brown and the time she got to meet him at the station. One big happy Zamily here on the My Second Act podcast.  The first major segment of the show covers the University of Georgia and why it’s admission process is similar to The Bachelor. For those of you who live outside the state, important to know how selective the school is. The average GPA? 4.0-4.3. Want to know what Caddy got the first time he took the ACT? Listen up. Want to know what Donna got? So do we. She withheld the answer. It’s an extended conversation about secondary education in America and predictions for the future of schooling.  Have you been friending and unfriending folks now that the election is over? Reconsidering the relationships, if you will? Caddy is. Donna is. You know who else? Florida Georgia Line. Caddy and Donna dish the scoop on inter-band relations on the following segment.  The last segment introduces the best part of the week: Appy Time! Donna has a pick that lets folks gift lists and organize what the family wants. It will tell you everything you need to know about what your loved ones want for the holidays (or birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, the whole 9 yards). Check it out. Eddie Van Halen passed away. Caddy and Donna speak about the history of Van Halen and some of their own memories surrounding the group. Donna collected, saved and then camped out in a Ford Expedition to see Van Halen. That last one actually resulted in a short-fused relationship. Then Donna and Caddy talk about Nathan Apodaca, a father from Wyoming whose love of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice has paid off. It’s a light, heartwarming story that’ll give you a smile and boost Fleetwood Mac’s streaming numbers.  The show was right- Saturday Night Live was pretty dang good this past weekend. Donna and Caddy cover a couple of the highlights before turning to this weekend’s SNL, which be hosted by Bill Burr with musical guest Morgan Wallen.  On a similar note, some news has been released about this year’s Country Music Awards. You’ll hear a quick host recap from Caddy and Donna, plus a disclaimer from Dolly Parton. Reba McEntire Trump, Suburbans and PPE. Caddy wants to know- who signed off on this? It’s sort of like how Kenny Chesney used to be moved around concert venues hidden in a road case. Did that happen here? Where are the emails? Where are the road cases?

Donna is going grave robbing before the bodies are even warm. She’s headed into cubicles looking for keyboards, pens and left behind medicine balls.  It’s Alicia Keys’ street week. If you’ve been keeping up with this semi-music podcast, you’ll know that means Alicia has an album coming out. It’s also the first street week we’ve seen since the pandemic (or whatever you’d like to call it) interrupt the norm. It is the first time Caddy and Donna see an answer to their question: will the entertainment industry ever look the same?  Then Donna takes a trip back to Ridgemont High and gives Caddy a tour of what he has missed. Hear Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston replaying a scene and taking us all down memory lane. It’s a clip from a charity read by an actor who lives down the road from Caddy and Donna. Then the show gets slapped an Explicit rating after another trip, this one up Schitt’s Creek. The Jacks use some of their podcasting perks that Jimmy Kimmel, the Emmys and Joe Rogan don’t enjoy.  The show gets its semi-politics podcast rating on the following segment, one that covers the recent passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It’s a solemn segment that is lightened with the fact that Donna loves a good fall video. And Mitch “The Turtle” McConnell obliges.  To end the show, Caddy and Donna talk about the early stages of their relationship after a listener called in to ask about kindling.  @atlcadillac. 7704646024. The first segment touches on the upcoming Halloween holiday. Wait, what? In all seriousness, Donna says that couple costumes have always been a part of the Jack’s relationship. They run through a couple of past favorites and pitch a few ideas for this year.   Then Donna gives an update on her 141 campaign. She is charging everyone to do one new, productive thing for one month. Donna has heard from a lot of folks about their progress and wants to encourage others to take it on.  One of the subjects Donna wants to pick up the 141 challenge is on the show today. That person is Cadillac Jack. Hear where he is on his own growth journey.  Then Donna and Caddy hear a clip from Caddy Wagon that speaks to the question: Can you make a left on red? After Officer Ritchey gives his answer, Donna moves into the best segment of the month: Appy.  The Appy is a great way to get discounts on medicine and other prescriptions. Today’s episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act is a quick hit.  First off, Susan Clark intro’s the show. Not only does Susan Clark does she pipe us in, but comes with fighting’ words. Susan is the only person who has (allegedly) Beat Caddy twice. We can’t remember the old name, but we’ll have a rematch of You Don’t Know Jack to settle the score.  Donna and Caddy cover their feelings about upcoming holidays like Labor Day and Halloween.   After that, Donna tells Caddy about the time she was encouraged to steal Clarence Clemons’ hip replacement card. Spoiler Alert: she returned it to him.  The show fulfills the music portion of its Semi-Music Podcast classification by covering some upcoming songs. The first ones are upcoming classic Christmas songs covered by a few Country artists. Donna and Caddy are not fans. There’s a hunch that Tug Cowart isn’t either.  Then Donna talks about a new project from Chris Stapleton that features some folks from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  Caddy went on a Daddy / Daughter field trip this week. It was a little unconventional- the two went to the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office and Morgue.  He shares the experience on the middle segment of today’s show.  Statesboro. Bullet County. It’s a new target for the White House. Caddy and Donna tackle the situation on the third major segment. Hear their thoughts on the school, the parents and the nation. It leads right into a discussion on some changes in national testing for schools and prep courses in the college application process.  Check out Caddy Wagon and Hustle, both podcasts are out now. Another show in paradise here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.  Luke Bryan biked a century- aka 100 miles- which makes Donna wants to summit something. She is thinking Machu Pichu or Everest. Caddy wants her to start with Kennesaw Mountain. Donna wants to swim across the English Channel. Caddy wants her to start with swimming across the Wills Park pool. Caddy uses the segment to cover Country music’s hottest new artist with a song that ended up in the Top 10 within 24 hours of release. Then Donna talks about why she thinks Caddy is not as invested and interested as he once was. According to Caddy, he just doesn’t like animal videos. Who has been to more health centers? Caddy went a lot because they have free… candy. Donna has been back when she had… strep. They cover some of the COVID-19 considerations that the University of Georgia’s Health Center may have released to students. Some of the recommendations are inappropriate for the show to broadcast. Just, consider wearing a mask. Little Hyde loved sugar. So much so that reminiscing caused Caddy to pull a U-Turn and head up Post Road. As Donna says, if you’re not from Atlanta, “that’s out in the middle of nowhere.” It causes Dona and Caddy to jump segments and talk about the newly re-discovered Nature Valley and Sunbeam stores. Caddy took so many laps that he had to get a cart. Rolls. Buns. 4 for $5. Turns out his food pyramid is made up of sugar, cinnamon and high fructose corn syrup. The segment caps with a reminder of just how connected memories are to food. Have your kids been all up in your business? Donna thinks yes- and she literally means her business. “Like a whole new gang of coworkers.” Nowadays everyone has to get creative about how they create alone time. At the end of the day, the kids really are the heroes. That’s one reason Charlotte was a red-plater this week. In this episode, blogger and Daily Intermittent Faster, Donna Reish summarizes her fourteenth week on Daily IF, including her week of carb counting while IF (under 50 net carbs)--and the effect this had on her weight and her enjoyment. She explained how the carb counting took precedence over the control of the eating window--and how she would do that differently if she ever decided to count carbs more often. Then Donna explained the difference between low carb eating and keto eating--and why a person can seldom "sort of keto" with good results. In "Listener Lessons," Donna dives into the three things factors to consider in determining what to eat in your eating window: a) food that gives you the nutrients you need; b) food that makes you feel good (i.e. no carb comas or brain fog); and c) food you enjoy. Daily IF can meet all of these criteria! Finally, she emphasizes the importance of following something that you can stay on!
