Are you in the seat that God is calling you to?  In this episode, Jeff and Kyle discuss:  Living with curiosity and open communication. Generosity in influence. Learning and living in both the 1st and 2nd generation seats of organizations. Tapping into your emotional side.    Key Takeaways:  The family story is made up of 4 Ts, not 3: time, talent, treasure, and testimony. Write for your family alone. What do you want them to know and to carry forward? We must invest in the rising generation. Consider walking through the succession and transfer of influence sooner than you think. This can help to break the negative cycles that we may not even see. The focus of the family needs to come through the spirit. Get out of your head, and feel what God wants you to know and to do.   "I'm talking about doing something that taps into this softer, emotional feeling side that at first feels very uncomfortable, but I believe the Holy Spirit will speak through it in ways that are unimaginable and are uniquely gifted to unleash something that is God-breathed." —  Kyle Circle   Episode References: Gospel Patrons: People Whose Generosity Changed the World by John Rinehart   About Kyle Circle: Kyle is from a 19-generation farming family and was born into the largest 1st Gen strawberry farming family in the U.S., now in the wine business in the Central Coast of CA. They sold a 500-acre vineyard to the Gallos in 2018 and another 440 acres to Cupcake. Today, they're the largest grower for Joel Gott and Austin Hope in Santa Ynez and Paso in the Central Coast of California, with hundreds of acres of premium vineyards. The family history can be summed up as high-tech thinking in a low-tech industry, like agriculture. Today, the family holds various classes of real estate. This led him to start his 1st business when he was 11 years old, today owning land/vineyard, commercial, industrial & residential properties. He ended up having a 15-year professional music career where he played drums for Katy Perry. He did A&R, having found Francesca Battistelli getting her record deal, and managed a half dozen artists until 2010. His last artist was Nate Smith, who now has 3 #1 country singles and has been out with Morgan Wallen all last year and been out with Jason Aldean. Kyle was featured in Robert Frank's 2007 New York Times best-selling book, “Richistan: A Journey Through the American Wealth Boom and the Lives of the New Rich,” in Chapter 11 titled Astrokids. Robert was the Senior Editor of the Wall Street Journal's “The Wealth Report” for 18 years, is now the CNBC Wealth Editor, and has been hosting Inside Wealth since 2012. In 2005, along with a small group, co-created YPONextGen (now called YNG for raising the next generation of YPO/YPO Gold), which Kyle was part of for 7 years before joining EO (Entrepreneurs Organization) for 7 years, where he was also on the local board. There is now a YNG chapter in every major city in the world. He's always been a serial entrepreneur with a deep heart for pastors! Having chaired the national board for standingstoneministry.org for 4 yrs, on the board for 7 yrs, 2017-2021, and walked the founders through succession planning, which opened his eyes to how closely related the rich younger ruler and pastors and ministry leaders and their families were.   Connect with Kyle Circle: Website: flourishingfamily.com LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kylecircle    Connect with Jeff Thomas: Website: arkosglobal.com Podcast: generousbusinessowner.com Book: arkosglobal.com/trading-up Email: jeff.thomas@arkosglobal.com X: x.com/ArkosGlobalAdv Facebook: facebook.com/arkosglobal LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/arkosglobaladvisors Instagram: instagram.com/arkosglobaladvisors YouTube: youtube.com/channel/UCLUYpPwkHH7JrP6PrbHeBxw

The Working Songwriter

Our guest this week on the Working Songwriter originally hails from Virginia, but made his bones in the bustling hip-hop scene of Atlanta. Yung Lan began producing tracks on his laptop as a novice with no ties to the formal music business. Signing a modest publishing deal got him in the room with some hip hop luminaries, and he seized the opportunity. His first success came when one of his songs made it onto Fetty Wap's self-titled album, which went platinum. He has since gone on to work with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, and many others. Yung Lan's work on Morgan Wallen's song "Cowgirls" won him a BMI Country Award. All told, his songs placed with different artists have amassed over 6 billion streams and he's contributed to 30 albums with RIAA certifications. I got a chance to catch up with Yung Lan a few months back to hear about his musical journey so far. Interested in sponsoring us? Contact BGS: https://bit.ly/sponsorBGSpods

Savage Season is all about finding the real ones — and Maggie Doogan is exactly that. In this episode of SportsLifeTalk: You Got Next, we sit down with the “Richmond Rifle” herself — a 6'2 senior forward out of Richmond University who has been on an absolute tear, averaging 23+ points per game and proving she's a complete two-way force in the A-10.B Jones sets the tone with a legendary intro (including a “deadliest spider” comparison that Maggie takes like a champ), and from there the episode becomes a masterclass in confidence, culture, and competitive edge.We kick things off with Moment of Truth (two truths and a lie), where Maggie reveals she's a fourth-generation college athlete, the oldest of four siblings, and keeps the vibes rolling right into our call-to-action run that reminds the SLT family what this platform is built for: exposure, storytelling, and lifting the women's game up — one savage at a time. Then it's time for the SLT Initiation, where Maggie shares her Top 5 artists (showing real range): Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, and Cody Johnson. She breaks down why she rocks with Spider-Man (because… spiders), and taps into her mindset with a calm, grounded pregame theme song rooted in worship — because killers don't always show up loud… sometimes they show up locked in.Maggie also explains the story behind her jersey number 44, a family connection tied to her grandfather and her basketball roots, and she puts us on to a Richmond favorite: The Continental, a campus-area spot where she's keeping it simple with a chicken Caesar salad, but makes sure everyone knows the burgers go crazy too.But the heart of the episode is The First 48 — the night Maggie dropped 48 points in a historic three-overtime win at Davidson. She walks us through how it felt, when she realized it was special, and how adrenaline took over when the game demanded more. The best part? She admits she doesn't even fully remember the details — she just clicked into a different mode. That's what real “Mamba Moments” sound like.We also get into the bigger picture: why Maggie stayed at Richmond instead of chasing portal hype or NIL noise. Her answer is real: she chose a place she could be happy for four years, a program that felt like home, and a journey she wanted to finish with her people. She's focused on winning, enjoying the moment, and letting everything else come when it's time.As the episode closes, Maggie shares what's next: continuing her career professionally (in the U.S. or overseas) and eventually stepping into coaching — with a future that feels bigger than basketball. She also shouts out her team and calls out a teammate we need to get on the show next: Rachel Ullstrom, a shooter she describes as unreal. This one isn't just hoops — it's legacy, leadership, and proof that Savage Season is built for players like Maggie Doogan.

Imagine a 6'2 lefty sniper who can shoot you out of a zone, drop 38 in a revenge game, and still tell you she doesn't need Hollywood — she just needs her people. That's Bella Ragone.Georgia High School Player of the Year. Top 25 in the Class of 2026. Five-star recruit. Notre Dame women's basketball signee. And in this episode of SportsLifeTalk – You Got Next (Savage Season), Bella opens up about her journey from NFL sidelines to Georgia hardwood greatness — and why loyalty and faith shaped her rise.Bella's life wasn't built in one zip code. With her dad coaching in the NFL, moving was normal. She's lived in Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia/D.C., Chicago, Georgia, and even around Los Angeles. But when her dad joined the Rams and relocated to L.A., Bella made a defining decision — she stayed in Georgia. Not for spotlight. For stability. As she said, “I just need my people.” That mindset reveals everything about her foundation. Her basketball story didn't start with hype. She played multiple sports growing up. But in middle school, it clicked. She realized she was good. She loved the grind. She wasn't burning out. That's when the game became serious.Bella calls herself a “three-way player.” Translation: true three-level scorer. She takes pride in her jump shot — deep range, quick release, and a deadly one-dribble pull-up. As a lefty, she naturally creates angles defenders struggle with. Over the past two years, she's extended her range and sharpened her off-the-bounce scoring. When teams tried zone? She smiled and said, “That wasn't a good idea.”Her defining moment came in the region tournament. Third matchup against a team that had already beaten them twice. Home floor. Pressure packed. Bella decided, “This has to be my game.” Final stat line — 38 points while her team scored 50 total. She carried them into the region championship and delivered one of the coldest performances of the season. That wasn't stat padding. That was ownership. Her commitment to Notre Dame women's basketball wasn't based on rankings. It was about fit, faith, academics, and relationships. A Catholic university aligned with her values. A culture built on family. Coaches who invested in her as a person. She's joining a special freshman class — and she knows it.The basketball DNA runs deep. Her mom played Division I at Louisville after moving from Estonia at 15 and learning a new language. Bella wears #5 in honor of her mom's jersey number. Her dad, also a lefty, trained her and sharpened her competitive edge. Add in a Division I quarterback brother, and you get a household built on competition and discipline. When NIL opportunities came up, Bella didn't overthink it. She said Lululemon. Authentic. Clean. Real. That kind of clarity matters in today's NIL era.Off the court, she keeps it grounded — spending time with friends, supporting other sports, traveling, and protecting her energy. Her favorite local food spot? Buffalo's. Order: Kickin' Chicken Wrap. Simple comfort.During SLT Initiation, her Top 5 artists included Drake, SZA, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar. Favorite superhero? Black Widow — independent and powerful. Theme song? “Over” by Drake. The biggest lesson basketball taught her? Resilience — pushing through fatigue and pressure when it would be easier to fold.Right now, Bella's focus is healing, staying healthy, and preparing for her freshman season at Notre Dame. Long-term goals? Win a national championship. Earn individual accolades. Bring a title back to South Bend. Her words were clear: “We deserve it.”Bella Ragone didn't choose the spotlight. She chose stability. She didn't chase hype. She built foundation. She's not just next. She's built.

Think the Grammys always reward the biggest voices? We put that idea on trial. From Luke Combs and Blake Shelton to Eric Church and Martina McBride, we map the stunning list of country heavyweights with multiple nominations and zero wins—and ask what those numbers really say about merit, timing, and taste. Then we widen the lens: Jelly Roll's breakout sweep, Zac Top's historic Traditional Country win, and how a single new category can rewrite a career's story overnight. We keep the momentum with a packed news slate: Lainey Wilson's cryptic “Can't Sit Still” teasers and possible Netflix tie‑in, Hardy's cinematic multi‑generational collab featuring Tim McGraw, Eric Church, and Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw's Pawn Shop Guitar tour routing through Fenway Park, and The Voice's two‑hour season launch after the Winter Games. Power, ownership, and timing decide more careers than any single hook—and this episode shows why. We pull back the curtain on country music's biggest label battles, from unpaid digital royalties to shelved albums and surprise re-releases. Kenny Rogers, Brad Paisley, and the Chicks wrestle with reporting and payouts; Tim McGraw challenges an “unfair” contract and wins; and Garth Brooks redefines royalties with a bold 50-percent deal. Then there's Taylor Swift, turning re-recordings into a masterclass on leverage and fan alignment, and Morgan Wallen calling out reissued early work that tests the ethics of timing and brand control. We keep the pace quick with a news sweep that actually matters: Margo Price aiming for Grammy glory, Jelly Roll judging a Star Search reboot, Zach Bryan's deeply personal wedding tribute, and Garth teasing a tour that will melt ticket sites. We talk duets that blur the line between home and studio, why CRS still sets the tone for country radio and industry strategy, and how authenticity cuts through the noise when new and legacy artists share the same stage.Listeners jump in with their favorite music documentaries and create a watchlist worth saving: Sound City, It Might Get Loud, History of the Eagles, and the ever-quotable Spinal Tap. We fold that into our country chart rundown and indie spotlight, highlighting songs on the rise and the artists betting on craft over hype.Episode LinksScotty Simpson: https://jayfranze.com/episode3/Bob Bullock: https://jayfranze.com/episode28/Dave Jackson: https://jayfranze.com/episode53/William Lee Golden: https://jayfranze.com/episode72/John McEuen: https://jayfranze.com/episode85/McBride & The Ride: https://jayfranze.com/episode87/Billie Jo Jones: https://jayfranze.com/episode98/Dalila Mya: https://jayfranze.com/episode102/Mark Badolato: https://jayfranze.com/episode1Send us a text Support the showLinks Jay Franze: https://jayfranze.com/ JFS Country Countdown: https://jayfranze.com/countdown/ Contact Contact: https://jayfranze.com/contact/ Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jayfranze TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jayfranze X: https://x.com/jayfranze YouTube: https://youtube.com/@jayfranze Services Services: https://jayfranze.com/services/ Books Books: https://jayfranze.com/books/ Merchandise Merchandise: https://jayfranze.com/merchandise/ Support Support: https://jayfranze.com/support/ Sponsor the Show: https://jayfranze.com/sponsor/

From growing up in Florida crate-digging scenes no one cared about, to turning underground instincts into global movements, Diplo breaks down the uncomfortable truth behind longevity in music: following your taste when everyone else wants safety. We get into: The real physical and mental toll of nonstop touring in a world that never shuts off The power of branding and how he did it (and why you have to, to) Breaking scenes before they're acceptable Burning out, disappearing, and rebuilding without chasing relevance Why instinct beats public approval every single time And the reality of turning risk into influence and underground energy into global impact This episode is for anyone building anything. Country took some wild turns this year, and we sift through every twist with one big question: what actually deserves the spotlight? We kick off by ranking the top country albums of 2025, weighing the case for Tyler Childers at the summit, poking holes in Morgan Wallen's lower-than-expected slot, and making room for Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, and a few traditional voices that feel older than retro yet strangely fresh. Expect strong opinions, sharper jokes, and a running thread about why some records stick while others burn out fast. The conversation opens up when we tackle the greatest male-female collaboration. Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers ultimately take the crown for chemistry and timeless storytelling, but not without a fight from Conway and Loretta, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, and even rock-forward duos like Lizzy Hale and Corey Taylor. That debate draws a line between technique and feeling: perfect vocals are nice, but songs that live in your bones win the replay war. We also break down how live-in-studio recording changes everything—from headphone mixes to “more me” monitor boxes—and why capturing a band in motion often beats the sterile shine of overproduction.Episode LinksTom Harding: https://jayfranze.com/episode30/Billie Jo Jones: https://jayfranze.com/episode98/Dalila Mya: https://jayfranze.com/episode102/Send us a text Support the showLinks Jay Franze: https://jayfranze.com/ JFS Country Countdown: https://jayfranze.com/countdown/ Contact Contact: https://jayfranze.com/contact/ Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jayfranze TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jayfranze X: https://x.com/jayfranze YouTube: https://youtube.com/@jayfranze Services Services: https://jayfranze.com/services/ Books Books: https://jayfranze.com/books/ Merchandise Merchandise: https://jayfranze.com/merchandise/ Support Support: https://jayfranze.com/support/ Sponsor the Show: https://jayfranze.com/sponsor/
