Los extraterrestres de Varginha El periodista Pablo Villarrubia, del equipo de Cuarto Milenio, estuvo en Brasil y entrevistó a Edison Boaventura Júnior, uno de los principales investigadores de dos casos Ovnis emblemáticos: el de los extraterrestres de Varginha, de 1996 y el Ovni que explotó sobre el mar en Ubatuba en 1957. El 20 de enero de 1996, en la localidad de Varginha, tres jóvenes afirmaron ver una criatura extraña con piel viscosa y ojos rojos en un terreno baldío. Ese mismo día, testigos reportaron el avistamiento de un objeto volador no identificado y la presencia de militares y bomberos, quienes habrían capturado a uno o más seres y trasladaron sus cuerpos a instalaciones militares. El incidente generó una gran cobertura mediática y fue comparado con el caso Roswell, siendo investigado por ufólogos y periodistas. Edison Boaventura cuenta a Cuarto Milenio que el gobierno de EE.UU. estuvo involucrado en el caso y que existen documentos y declaraciones de militares de ese país que confirman que los presuntos extraterrestres estarían en territorio estadounidense. El caso del ovni de Ubatuba ocurrió el 14 de septiembre de 1957, cuando testigos en la playa de Ubatuba, Brasil, vieron un objeto discoidal volar a gran velocidad, maniobrar y luego explotar en el aire, dispersando fragmentos metálicos sobre el mar y la arena. Algunos de estos fragmentos fueron recogidos y enviados a un periodista, quien los remitió para análisis científicos. Los estudios revelaron que el material era magnesio de pureza inusual, sin los elementos traza habituales. El incidente es uno de los pocos casos OVNI con evidencia física analizada en laboratorios.
