Donna wants to go to Bonnaroo, Burning Man or Talladega. Just hearing the ‘T’ word is triggering for Cadillac Jack. It brought back some frightening memories. Brown liquor and ashes at turn 1. Shutting down the state’s third largest city in the Fall of ‘99. It’s a shuddering trip down memory lane. Needless to say, we’ll see you at the Talladega Superspeedway in April. Caddy moves on to the other side of the racecar counter by sharing a story from this weekend at the DMV. The attendant really wanted a piece of Caddy. (We see you, Window 8.) In the end, it all worked out. Charlotte even saved the day at J. Christopher’s. Morgan Wallen just spent his 10th week at the top of the charts. It’s a huge deal, but not the biggest story out of Country music this week. The main headline is from Garth Brooks- Chris Gains is back. Confused? Join the party. Donna and Cadillac Jack shed some light on the alter ego who may have purchased 1.5 million copies of his own album. Plus, did you know that Matthew McConaughey starred as Walkaway Joe with Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley? Before the show taps out, Donna and Cadillac Jack say a bit about the Atlanta story that has been on national news this week. It’s a somber tone about tragedies, family and the importance of doing the right thing. Lastly, you’ll hear a few Pod Peeps and their favorite two-handed-songs as a way to lighten the show. Let us know about your own two-handers and if you have advice from years at Talladega. What exactly is Donna in for? 7704646024.
Cadillac Jack was roped into a Georgia Public Broadcasting telethon. He and Tina Turner ended up raising over $300 on the program. Morgan Wallen is now at week 9 at the top of the charts. Donna, Megan and Harry Styles all developed the same moves. It’s just another Thursday here at the My Second Act podcast. There’s a new season of Caddy Wagon with Ritchey and Raider coming. To prep, Caddy has been taking ride alongs with Officer Phil Ritchey. Caddy “takes off his silly hat” to discuss some of the incidents he has seen in recent weeks. It’s a heavier segment that will remind you to love and check in with each other. Donna’s takeaway is that some of this year’s changes are here to stay and it’s important to take them seriously. Most importantly, give yourself some grace. Caddy almost had a stroke (we really shouldn’t say that) when he got a text with the three dreaded words- “Call me, please.” The next segment of the show covers Todd Chrisley and his gift for GBnME. It really got Caddy emotional and he’s seen all the videos. Donna simply wants to know which restaurant Todd was in. Just another highly-favored Second Act. This one rounds off with a clip of Reba on Oprah’s Masterclass and a few bits about the tourist destination that is Nashville, Tennessee. What are some other songs that make you drop your drink and run to the dance floor? Your two-fist dances? Let us know at 7704646024.
It’s the first show after the Grammy’s and for this semi-music podcast that means one thing: we’re going to spend a very small part of the show covering the awards. First Donna and Cadillac Jack explain their Hype Song Playlist(s) and why they go from Jay-Z to Dolly Parton to Earth, Wind & Fire. Next, Caddy fills us in on his weekend with Olivia and their 20+ innings of softball. It mostly served the purpose of enjoying the weather reminiscing on youthful days. But watching the 4U teams’ coaches (and parents) also took Caddy down a more painful memory lane. Imagine if Dad had been out the night before and then had to catch for Mom. That’s a little bit what the segment is about. Donna caps it with a PSA of her own, reminding folks that “if you’re the team mom, get those lazy little kids to pick up after themselves.” Not before Caddy admits to falling for a MLM. Or a phishing attempt. Plus a real life ponzi scheme. Then a quick update from TaskRabbit’s Pee Pee. Making good on our Apple designation as a semi-music podcast, the show covers highlights from this past weekend’s Grammy awards. Harry Styles, Black Pumas and Wop. Taylor Swift, Post Malone and Wop. Billie Eilish and Wop. You’ll hear it all on today’s Second Act. You know how we’ll end the Act? With some Riff Raff that Donna bought. You properly need to hear it. Get your tickets now for the Atlanta Auto Show, April 14-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Then call 7704646024 and tell us if you’ll be waiting in line for the new Ford Bronco.
This episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act features a man named Pee Pee and a Brit named Sean. Donna met Pee Pee on TaskRabbit. He’s coming to the house on Friday to look over the trampoline. He said they’ll make do. Meanwhile the CDC has new guidance on who can hug who. You’ll hear the clip on today’s and be just as confused as Caddy and Donna. We go to Sean, the show’s British Correspondent to fill in some royal blanks. It makes up the bulk of the show and will give the perspective of someone who is very much in support of the Crown. Before he hangs up Sean plays a quick game of Can’t Beat Jack. It’s 40 seconds of nail-biting. Find out who gets hosed. Then there is a new series of concerts booked for the Uncorked Concert Series at Painted Horse Winery. Caddy gives a quick intro and pitches the first artist- Jeffrey Steele. You’ll hear a couple of the hits Steele has written over the years like “Shotgun Rider,” “Knee Deep” and “Stick That in Your Country Song.” To close the show, we run through a couple of pod peeps for the episode like Misty Cato. Follow Caddy on Twitter @atlcadillac and subscribe to The Letter by texting LEFTONRED to 22828.
Dolly Parton sings us in on today’s Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast. Then the show can’t fully begin until Donna and Cadillac Jack clear the air. You’ll have to stick with us through the first six minutes of the episode as we dig up some irritation with memes, communication habits and “a double dose of Rock.” The real show starts with a tip: You can now listen to Cadillac Jack: My Second Act on all Delta flights. Just search “Cadillac Jack” on the Atlanta-based airline’s in-flight entertainment center. Then some quick hits like Morgan Wallen’s record breaking week and the Grammy’s new producer. The real meat of the show is spent on Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. There were more than a couple jaw-dropping moments in the two-hour special. Donna points out some anger over Harry’s parents, crisis-inducing pressures on Meghan and who exactly was concerned about their son Archie’s skin color. You’ll hear a few clips that were not aired during the interview. Loneliness and thoughts of self harm were discussed in the interview, something that will cast more light on the challenges of mental health. There were a few bright lights in the show, like Tyler Perry’s good graces and the incoming baby girl. Louie Anderson had a role in Coming to America because Paramount said the movie had to have a white guy. At least, that’s what Eddie Murphy says. You’ll hear the clip in question and a preview of the follow-up, which is streaming on Amazon Prime. The reason we talk about it on the show is because of the massive marketing campaign that pushed it out. From wrapped trucks to high-dollar commercials, the promotions were everywhere. The show caps with a story about Ethiopian food. That’s all we have to say.
It’s award season here at the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast. We take a look back at “the first awards show to try and do it,” the Academy of Country Music awards. Then a brief pan over the Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Pohler who were socially distanced by 2,000 miles. Plus there was Jason Sudeikis, not that he knew where he was at the time. PS - Who even is the Hollywood Foreign Press? Then the night brings the Jodie Foster / Aaron Rodgers storyline full circle, with an explanation from Cadillac Jack. Caddy manifests some serious mojo, just asking the world to smite him with some sort of illness. Donna takes the time to really drill in what it means to “manifest" something into reality. The following segment is about OnlyFans. It’s not what you think. Combining avocados, ASMR and lemonade. Plus, a few other creators who provide more traditional “nekedness.” Turns out Prince Harry did not tell the Queen. It’s Caddy’s understanding that anything goes in the tell-all interview he and Meghan Markle had with Oprah. You’ll hear two promos released by the Oprah camp that seem to confirm it. Caddy goes as far as classifying what kind of teases they are, from a production perspective. For the final segment, Michael calls in. He lives in Chamblee and has been a listener for a long time, but most importantly he’s deep into the Jeep culture. Michael is able to give an inside perspective on the Jeep life and what’s going on with the Jeep wave. It’s an uplifting conversation, for the most part. The only downer is that Caddy has to get used to having a sore wrist. It’s a tough life here on My Second Act.
It only took 125 shows before the Zodiac Killer made his way into an episode title. Here at the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcasts, we’re pretty proud of that. In other, non-Texan news, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift have reached new heights. The last folks that high were Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. No, seriously. Caddy and Donna cover it in the first segment of this semi-music podcast. Then it’s time to have a conversation about Tiger Woods. Donna and Cadillac Jack talk about the news cycle that some probably wanted to hear. They cover the Tiger’s background and how it’s oddly similar to the recent revelations surrounding Brittany Spears. Donna points out the one “winner” from the situation, if you can call it that. There’s a quick hit segment (that’s a pun, it’ll make sense 28 minutes in) before Caddy and Donna hit the real goss- the “three sexiest features of men who are the best in bed.” It’s a bit straight out of Cosmo and lasts 90 seconds. Donna makes her own quick hit on a new edition of “Riff Raff Donna buys on Instagram.” This week and next week are pet-focused products. (Petter days, petter days.) Do you remember your first time behind the wheel? For the parents listening- when did you first let your kids take the seat? Donna and Cadillac Jack drop the clutch and chime in. Before hitting the road, Caddy has a few questions about Jeep culture. If you know the answers, give us a wave at 7704646024.
The show kicks off with tthe marketing vitality of “the Tik Tok.” Then Caddy doesn’t understand the backlash towards Ted Cruz and his Sandals vacation. Donna starts her response by pointing out that Sen. Cruz was headed to the Ritz, not Sandals. Only one thing is for sure, and this is not a joke: as we record there is a mariachi band playing outside the Senator’s house. As Cadillac Jack says, “find out who your friends are.” What happens when you’re on an airplane and hear a big “BOOM” outside the plane? On a United flight out of Denver, one passenger did exactly what Donna would not: raise the shade and look out. You’ll hear the mayday call and learn about the pilot’s skill in handling the situation. We continue the air travel theme by covering the recent Mars landing. That one is less turbulent. Before the show is over you’ll hear an update on Caddy’s readers and Donna’s clogs. Give us an update right back at 7704646024.
Like beavers, the cast and crew of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act are delicate creatures. That’s why Caddy had to get a massage before recording this episode and “hang out in the chill room” for two hours. Donna… well, Donna was not getting a massage or hanging out in the chill room. The ACM Awards are headed back to Nashville. Victor Sansone, who is big in country radio and Caddy and Donna’s former boss, was inducted into Country Radio Seminar’s Hall of Fame. Ashley Judd went to the jungle and came out 48 hours later with suitors. Oprah is planning a sit down with her neighbors Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The world is beginning to heal. It’s still 2021 though, so the following segment is about Caddy and Donna listening to other people’s phone calls. Legally. Caddy wants to hear about climate impact reduction and why more POC don’t go to Burning Man. Donna explains what it means to “leave quietly.” It’s a bit about the Clubhouse app that’ll remind you that this year will be just as strange as the last one. Donna and Cadillac Jack bring it all home with a game of Can’t Beat Jack. Kara Scott calls for a quick round and she came in hot- the last time they played a similar game, Kara walked away a winner. Tune in to the final segment and find out who takes the cake. Here’s a hint: Donna gets up to clog. Think you have what it takes to Beat Jack. Slip into the show’s DMs. Text 7704646024. By the way, if anyone is wondering- the pot roast turned out great.
It’s another Brown Bag Special here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast. The show is long, jammed full and ends with a sweetheart. Consider it our Valentine’s Day gift to you. You can even have some time stamps. As a treat. 01:01 - A PSA about children and data privacy. (As in, kids breaching their parents’) 04:29 - The possibility that the Conway family (Kellyanne, George and Claudia) have been playing America, proved by Claudia’s appearance on American Idol. 10:45 - The adult Taylor Swift, including six tracks you’ve never heard. 15:23 - 40 seconds of the new Morgan Wallen apologizing for an old 72-hour bender. 20:28 - Underdog: How Michael McDonnell broke a 357-race losing streak and won the Daytona 500. 21:22 - The “Zoom Cat Lawyer” who has already been cancelled. 23:57 - Cadillac Jack steps away from GMC. 31:10 - The New York Times Presents, and the incredibly hard time Brittany Spears has faced. 33:59 - Are we cancelling Diane Sawyer for her participation in ^ ? 35:46 - Justin Timberlake’s apology and how it lands. 38:54 43:08 - Mr. Al calls in to the show to share about his recent visit from The Donut Man. [That’s the segment you won’t want to miss] Thanks for listening, it’s time for lunch. Call us on the way. 7704646024. Follow Caddy (@atlcadillac) on Twitter and The Donut Man (@spreaddonutlove) on Instagram.
This episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act is split into two very different parts. First there is some pretty gut-wrenching news about the son of Dr. Laura Berman. It leads to a frank discussion about the difficulty of quarantine for teenagers, but also the dangers of unrelated Big Tech. Above all, the message is one of transparency and communication. Make sure everyone you care about knows the lines of communication are open. The second part of the show is about Tennifer (that’s with a ‘T’) the Gorilla Glue Star. The Louisiana woman tried using the product in a way that… well, you probably just shouldn’t do. In fact, according to Gorilla Glue’s legal team, no reasonable person would even consider it. To look more at the case, Caddy and Donna bring in Jeffrey Jackson. Jeffrey is an attorney and managing partner at Jackson & Brubaker. He calls in to answer some of Donna and Cadillac Jack’s questions and offer Tennifer some advice. We’ll sum it up for you here: Good luck. Let us know what you think by texting or calling 7704646024. Follow Caddy on Twitter @atlcadillac and come out to Gallery Furniture this Saturday (Feb. 13) for some hot dogs. And Caddy. Plus both Donnas. But mostly hot dogs.
The show focuses almost entirely on Morgan Wallen and his ongoing controversy. It’s the story dominating Country right now but Donna and Caddy hit some talking points you might not expect. At the end there’s a bit of talk about r/theSuperbOwl, including Tom Brady and the pink singlet streaker. Plus a few answers to questions from some Pod Peeps. For the most part, though, the show covers a topic that we think will have a big impact on how the entertainment industry is set to change. Let us know what you think. We’ll all have a sit down with the big man upstairs. 7704646024. Follow Caddy on Twitter @atlcadillac and subscribe to the Letter by texting LEFTONRED to 22828.
This episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act is so full of gold nuggets that we’re doing show notes a little differently. Here is a list of topics and quotes… can you tell which are which? - If there’s one goal for this show it’s to not have the Chrissly Knows Best sound guy hear the conversation. - LIVE from Gobbler’s Knob, it’s Cadillac Jack! - Just wanted to hop on and give y’all some friendly reminders. - By the third kid you really don’t have any questions. And if you do, you know not to ask them. - What’s not to love about us? For one, we’re humble. - Listen, Dolly Parton is smart. Smart and big-chested. - We’re all for encouraging podcasters. C’mon in. But you have to get your sound right. - The Super Bowl is this Sunday (that’s right- we can say it) and no one in Atlanta is getting either of the two largest in-market news stations. - Remember when we were blacked out from *** programming? - What six NFL teams do not have a city in their name? - What do YOU know about Tucson? - Caddy wore a camel-haired winter coat to bed last night - Just let me pump my gas and get on my way. - How to explain the past 12 months to the 19-year-old British kid that just woke up from a coma? God bless him. - 365 days since Death Starts at $6.99 - Who are you? We did what? A few episodes ago, Caddy added Strawberry Wine by Deanna Carter to the playlist per a request from pod peep (really, superspreader) Melissa. It was an event that left the show with a whole lot of questions. The first segment of today’s show clears a good bit of it up because Melissa brought some answers. Then, Morgan Wallen strikes again. And we’re not just talking about when he ran Donna off the road. Morgan is spending his third week on top of the charts and still had time to drop some new music. If you’ve listened to any of it, let us know what you think. To round off the music segment Donna shares the story of how Miranda met her “blue light hubby” at the Biltmore KOA. Do we have the proper set up for vaccination? Donna wants to know about the sanitation and licensing. Caddy wants to know about the juice boxes and cookies. They both agree who should REALLY be running the process. Paging all biologists. We’re looking for the difference between groundhogs and beavers. When you’re done with that, we’re also paging all college admission officers. We’re trying to figure out your inside arrangement with the United States Postal Service. It’s an episode that is really on the hunt for some answers. There’s a new sheriff in town. And by that we mean the show has a new sponsor. Donna and Cadillac Jack introduce their new partners and what they can do for us all. Check out hertz.com/mycar or give Caddy a call if you have any questions. You know the number- 7704646024. The last segment of the show covers a phenomenon that literally (we mean it- literally) no one can fully understand. Even still, Carl Appen voices in and tries to give an explanation.
It’s time for a trip to Gallery Furniture because Donna and Cadillac Jack’s bed is full. There are a few pieces of audio that you’ll hear in today’s episode. Some words from Braves manager Brian Snitker at Hank Aaron’s memorial service. Then you’ll hear what happens when Dr. Fauci and Matthew McConaughey walk into a bar. You’ll hear the “10 reasons Caddy hates clickbait,” or something. Jesse calls in to play a round of Can’t Beat Jack. 8-1 is the current record, and the category today is a bit better than the “Psychic” one from terrestrial radio. After the game, Caddy and Donna reflect on a more solemn moment that happened this past weekend. One radio note from the show covers Sandra Golden’s move from 680 The Fan. She’s a legend and a good friend of the Jacks. Sports radio is a competitive field but Sandra rises above the rest. She’s also a champion and ally of other women in broadcasting. Atlanta radio and the sports world as a whole will miss you! Follow her on Twitter @sportsandra and call the show at 7704646024
On this Tuesday episode of My Second Act you’ll learn the dangers of pet-friendly hotels, COVID travel insurance and why the Joe Exotic team is upset with Donna and Cadillac Jack. To fulfill the semi-music podcast designation, there’s also some coverage of Eric Church’s upcoming triple album. Joanna Cotton came on the show a few months ago and talked about her experience helping Church on a 28-day music making marathon. The fruits of their labors are about to come to light with the 24-track Heart & Soul. Donna and Caddy travelled to Asheville this weekend to see Cadillac’s dad. Their hound dog Roscoe tagged along and the gang learned some lessons about why you may not want to stay inside any furry-friendly hotels. (Apologies to Double Tree) Are you on any dating apps? If so, do you look for folks who are self-reporting their vaccinations? On the next segment Donna and Cadillac address a new phenomenon where profiles are starting to use the designations as badges of honor. In the words of Donna, “an upsell,” if you will. After that the show covers the passing of two greats- Hank Aaron and Larry King. Both legends have left huge impacts on their crafts and our memories. Then it’s time for the show’s climax. A listener- no, an advocate- emailed into the show because she believes there were some mistakes. She’s a friend of Joe Exotic and some things said on the last show did not sit well with them. Don’t forget to come out to Gallery Furniture on February 13th. There will be music, food, furniture and the Jacks. Ask for Donna, Ask for the Wolfman and Caddy will tie whatever you’d like onto the roof of your car.
Have you heard about pomping? Used paper mache recently? Take money from Big Oil and Gas? This is the podcast for you. Not really but it’s all addressed today as Donna and Cadillac Jack hit the studio for My Second Act. Carpool being back in and the Presidential inauguration have Caddy feeling some typa way. So much so, that he’s on a Dude Wipes binge. One big turning point has been that Joe Exotic didn’t get a pardon. Executive Producer Carl Appen chimes in because he used to be pen pals with Joe. It’s a true story and he has the receipts to prove it. Today is a light show because we all need it. Tune in and pack out (Dude Wipes). 7704646024.
Search Donna and Caddy on Spotify to find “Part Deaux” of the podcast’s hype song playlist. On it you’ll find Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood and Marvin Gaye. Plus a few other artists that fit in between. It’s inauguration week here in the United States. There a few reasons to be excited about it (like cable news critics) and some reasons not to. One plus side for Donna, Caddy and the whole second act is that the pledge of allegiance will be led by North Fulton resident Andrea Hall, the first Black female Fire Captain in Fulton County. Plus, the Ocean Spray guy will be there. Afterwards Donna and Caddy take a deep dive into their trip below the sea. They saw ocean creatures, unbuttoned pants and cheddar biscuits. Red Lobster is sending the Jack’s waitress to Chattanooga because she sold so many double-baked potato upcharges. No kidding. Donna and Cadillac Jack move on to cover a frightening trend for the City of Atlanta and a terrifying allegation surrounding a certain Armie Hammer. Before the show closes, you’ll hear an update on Caddy’s job search and what some Pod Peeps had to say. Join ‘em. 7704646024.
Are you tired? Are you done with being stuck in your house? Do you like swapping? Donna has just the thing for you. It’s the intro that’ll get you acquainted with Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. After that, we listen back to the interview with Mark Wills and remember how much the touring industry has changed. Here’s a hint- $39.7 Billion. The good news is that the all-high (Dr. Fauci) has a prediction on when the stage will return to normal. To fulfill our obligation as a semi-music podcast, we take a look at some of the most-used words in country music. It ain’t boots. After that Caddy and Donna cover Nick Saban, Nick from IT and “getting busted on the big screen.” Do you know the story of when Donna and Cadillac Jack got busted at a Kenny show with their “bodyguard?” You will after this episode. Plus hear an update on some of Caddy’s new jobs. Trust Caddy to teach your kids? How about your liver? Laundry? Hire him at 7704646024. The show doesn’t end without Donna’s newest hit segment (Donna’s Riff Raff from Instagram) and some great news from Nana and Al.
Donna and Cadillac Jack are back in the swing of things for this Second Act. It’s a helluva feat, because they arrived at the studio a bit frazzled. You’ll hear why within the first four minutes. To fulfil the semi-music designation of the podcast, the Jacks move on to covering some recent divorcees and top artists of 2020. Plus one top divorced artist of the year. Then, we address the theme of pandemic babies. That is, the idea that men are flying all over the place because folks are pursuing super babies. That’s a real sentence from the show. The topic is artificial insemination and how the industry is affected by the pandemic. There’s also discussion of the black market trade of… well, you know. On a serious note: we really do want to hear from folks who have experience and can answer some questions for the show. Caddy has a lot of them. Reach out. 7704646024. The show rounds the corner with a return to Cameo’s top performer of the year. He’s a big Bulldogs fan, Georgia boy and accountant from The Office. You’ll hear his message for the University of Georgia’s incoming Athletic Director. Last show wrapped about two hours before the US Capitol riots began. Cadillac and Donna take some time at the end of the show to address what happened. It’s short and solemn and honest.
There are new music releases coming up. For Morgan Wallen, the release came a bit *too* soon. To fulfill the show’s designation as a semi-music podcast, Caddy and Donna explain how Walmart leaked some Wallen. Then, what’s the highest pre-added country album in the history of Apple Music? What does “pre-added” mean? More questions answered in the semi-music segment. After the turn, Melissa calls in to play a quick round of Can’t Beat Jack. Despite her collusion with Donna, the two face a hard time toppling Cadillac “The Establishment” Jack. Donna rounds out the episode with the introduction of her brand new segment. You’ll want to refer to the (other) notes to find the balls. Just… just listen to the segment. It’ll make sense.
Donna has been getting spammed by her friends Raphael, Kelly, Jon and David. Cadillac Jack hasn’t heard a peep. Tune into today’s My Second Act while Georgia’s voters head to the polls to declare their favorite friend of Donna. The spending on political ads has become incredibly high and Donna gives some insight on how special issue advertising can work in the broadcast industry. It’s 2021 and the Jacks have some strong, encouraging words to start the new year. After the intro Cady shares a story about when he’d host industry night at a certain club. In Donna’s words, it’s a seedy story you’ll want to hear. “I don’t like Tik Tok anymore and I don’t want to talk about it.” “That’s because you’re on the wrong Tok.” Hear the reasoning in the middle of the episode. As the show rounds the corner, Caddy and Donna ask some long-standing questions. What is LDS? Do the Rockettes exercise at Orange Theory? Do they age out? The show touches on a solemn note as a local police department lost a K9. Caddy shares his thoughts on K9 Karlo, who he had interacted with a few times while on the scene for his Caddy Wagon podcast.
The final Second Act of 2020 does not disappoint. Donna and Cadillac jack open up with some Kip Moore before addressing what’s going on in Nashville. Then our honorary foreign correspondent Tug Cowart calls in from his trip to Bosnia (sorry about the service). They talk about the trio’s most used emojis, the passing of Phil Niekro and their closing thoughts on 2020. Or as Tug says, “2020-won.” Wait til the end of the call to hear about Tug’s new pup and a reminder of what happened to his last one. After the call, Donna and Caddy have a bit of a family focus. To those of you listening who were away from loved ones this Christmas or faced co-parenting challenges with, the segment is for you. In the words of Tug Cowart quoting Thomas Rhett, “If we should take one thing into 2021, let it be this ‘slow down’ mentality we’ve gotten from 2020.” Follow Caddy at @atlcadillac and Tug at @TugCowart
To the parents listening- how closely do you pay attention to the appropriation of Christmas presents? Are you on the Donna side of the spectrum or Cadillac Jack’s? After running through the balance, the Jacks talk about pillow-smothering conspiracies and a CEO’s sink drinks. It’s an odd start to the show. The show moves right along and answers Caddy’s question about losing his load. Officer Phil Ritchey fills in the blanks. If you listen closely about 16 minutes in you’ll hear why the Boy Scouts aren’t allowed near the Jack’s house after Christmas. Then take a step back through time with some of the show’s best clips from 2020. You’ll hear the origin of #LeftonRed, which you still can’t do. You’ll laugh at Caddy’s hibachi excrements- I mean escapades. Even get quizzed on the Jacks’ spiritual journey. The show hits our usual Pod Peep segment (shoutout to Lisa and Shane) before capping with a lighthearted conspiracy about the voicemail line. Call 7704646024. Test it out. Follow Caddy on Twitter and Instagram @atlcadillac. Use promo code CADDYRESET2021 to get $30 off your dinnerafare.com order.

Donna takes a tumble. Christmas treat #1. Donna’s Appy segment - a keeper for all of your deepest secrets. Sorta. Donna makes the (Dallas Cowboys Cheer) team. Christmas treat #2. Caddy and Donna go up and down the radio dial with some industry news, including a never-before-told story about a certain personality being shopped around. Pod peeps for the episode. An uh-oh cameo. Someone mailed Donna a fruitcake. So if that’s you, thanks! Also, why? To fulfill our semi-music category, there a couple industry hits on the agenda: ERNEST, a new country artist inspired by a blend of Eminem and George Strait. Thomas Rhett is off Instagram and his fans are off Thomas Rhett A new piece from Eminem himself Caddy and Donna went on vacation but went incognito. Would you go to Disney World right now? Would you really? Postal workers must be done. They’re really over it. Caddy wants to know how much smack they’re getting right now. Donna explains and asks a couple questions about the interworkings of USPS. Caddy takes the next segment to make a confession. Then if you’re wondering, there is no fondant on a Dairy Queen cake. Caddy would know, because he just went to DQ to get himself a cake. A whole cake. Then Donna went to DQ herself and spent $72. $72. One more time: $72. The bit transitions to a story about a man who has a relationship with the most dangerous animal in South Africa. Then another story about a plane crash that revealed a love affair. It’s a jam packed and sporadic episode. You’ll love it.
Disclaimer: If you’re Donna’s InstaShopper, please don’t listen to this episode. Jeannie comes on the show to play a quick game of Can’t Beat Jack. Caddy may be headed to court. It’s quite a show today on My Second Act. Charley Pride has passed away. The Country Music Awards insist that protocols were followed after he attended the event. Maren Morris introduced some concerns on twitter (now deleted) that have lead to responses from the Awards, artists and other industry professionals. After speaking a bit about Charley, Caddy and Donna move to Taylor Swift. Taylor addressed some rumors about her new releases, and you’ll hear her explanation to Jimmy Kimmel. What would you be willing to pay for a Cameo from Caddy? He says he’d do it for free. Donna says not so fast. That’s the intro to today’s Cameo segment where the show covers all that’s new in the world of Celebrity Shout Outs. Caddy introduces some sneak peek of Caddy Wagon before moving to his own Wagon Woes. For the past few weeks, GMC has been flaunting some bonkers commercials where folks surprise their spouses with vehicles. “Read the ******* room, GMC.” Saturday Night Live finally called them out with a spoof this past weekend. You’ll hear the segment on the show as well as some responses from the Jacks. Plus the cliff we’re approaching in the restaurant crisis for Georgia folks and others around the country. On a lighter note (for Caddy) Corey Dylan is headed to Cali. Caddy's former co-host got a morning show gig at Big FM. Lastly and bestly, it’s time for a round of Can’t Beat Jack. Jeannie calls in and plays a round with the category “Shots.” (Thanks Donna). One anonymous pod peep has suggested a new job for Caddy. Donna is a fan. In fact, Donna thinks it’s the perfect gig. Text Caddy if he can put you as a reference. 7704646024. Get $30 off your order at dinnerafare.com
Eric Church dropped a new song ten minutes before this episode was recorded. So, you could say there was a lot on the mind. Here are a couple things that were covered across (a pretty large) spectrum: The moral legality of fireworks. Dua Lipa. Taylor Swift’s new project. (Of the 15 new songs on the album, 6 of them got explicit stamps.) More on the Carl Lentz situation intro’d last week. Cadillac Jack’s Taylor problem. (By that we mean he consistently drops names throughout the episode. I’d tell you when they happen but I lost count.) Donna announcing Caddy’s new job. (It’ll be a stretch, but his first goal is to beat the 2020 revenue of a certain NBC star.) Moving into an NYC storefront for Christmas. The Times Person (or People) of the Year. Milton’s Pinestraw Bandit of the Year. Having folks come over to candle some ears.
If you listen to one episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act, it should be this one. Here are a few things covered, as they speak for themselves: A few picks on Donna’s Christmas wishlist. Hint: Caddy says no. Billboard’s Best Songs of 2020, including a segment that could land all of us in a lawsuit with Megan Thee Stallion. CHRISTMAS TREE SHOPPING SOLO. DEPRESSING. DON’T EVER CALL ME SCROOGE AGAIN. (Programming note: That’s word for word how the segment appeared on the run of show.) Three instances of bowling. 1) The Jacks’ recent trip to pandemic lanes. 2) The bowling league Caddy was a member of at Hickory’s Colonial Lanes. His team was the Gutter Busters. 3) When Donna’s mom would drop her off at the bowling alley daycare. Rev. Raphael Warnock and whether or not that’s really his beagle (it’s not). The best late night jokes about COVID, from Fallon, Kimmel and Seth Meyers. Plus some potential restrictions on those who get it. New York Times bestselling appster Donna Choate presents her Appy segment. It’s an app you can use to bring back Layaways and secure items when money gets tight. Quick hits from the radio industry about career updates from Howard Stern and Jason Pullman. It includes a prediction about Cadillac Jack’s former station. Listen. Then check back with us in March. Messages from some of the show’s best pod peeps. When you finish the episode, text Caddy at 7704646024. Then use the code CADDY to get $30 off your order at dinnerafare.com.
Apple classifies My Second Act as a semi-music podcast. That designation is earned on today’s show, which covers Morgan Wallen, Sam Hunt, Old Dominion and a lot more. The episode starts off with Morgan Wallen’s return to SNL. It’s a broadcast segment but music is reinforced with the news that Bob Dylyn has sold his entire catalog. One more time: Bob Dylan is selling his entire catalog of music. Donna and Caddy talk about the deal and its implications, along with its comparison with a similar move from Stevie Nicks. After that Cadillac explains how he broke his rib. Donna follows it up with an explanation of whether or not he really did. Just one thing to say- “we’ll see you back in mid-February.” The following segment covers some #gapol coverage, which has naturally become a national story. Caddy and Donna explain why Georgia’s Senate seats will have such an impact on the country. As someone who leans right, Caddy wanted to know why one participant wouldn’t show up. From the other side, Donna thinks that person may be a wimp. Continuing the news, Caddy talks about the second race and offers a primer of its two candidates. Donna brings some great points to the table but none are more important than one particularly hairy suggestion. The final segment is on a positive mental and emotional movement happening on TV and across the airwaves. Donna and Caddy are just happy to share. Follow Caddy on Twitter and Instagram @atlcadillac and then text Donna. In that order. Or not. 7704646024.
It’s the time of year when Donna is feeling like Uncle Charles. A celebrity is asking for a seven-figure child support agreement. Spotify is wrapping everyone up. All that plus Cadillac Jack outing himself on this episode of My Second Act. The show starts off with a musical recap of 2020. Caddy and Donna look at what hits have come out of the year and what they’ve been listening to the most. There’s a quick segment on what has happened to Caddy’s masks. It’s a messy one. After it ends, Caddy and Donna talk about The Unhinged. It’s their new binging favorite and has led to a whole new brand of conspiracy theory. Who would win in a fight- Cadillac Jack or Jake Paul? Who’s more lifted- Snoop Dogg or Mike Tyson? The answers would surprise you. All that covered on the segment sponsored by Toad Testosterone. Then Cadillac Jack comes forward with his funk. It’s a favorite aspect of the show- being able to talk openly about struggles and how it has affected him the past couple months. He’s worried about how it has impacted the show, which is characteristic. Donna’s response is that it’s part of a bigger picture. Either way it’s a segment that makes the show thankful for the show itself. As a quick part of the Radio Notes, the show covers come news about Atlanta’s Clark Howard. The following segment takes a look at child and spousal support, as a certain celebrity couple has made headlines for their incredibly high amounts. Caddy and Donna are familiar with the topic. They talk about what folks are thinking during the process and who really wins in the end. The last segment covers two things: the 2020 Word of the Year and superspreading swingers. They are not related.
The combination of Donna’s Christmas love and Caddy’s True Crime obsession has lead to a new tradition in the Jack household. You could get away with a lot of things- possibly even a murder. One of the Jacks has thought it through. The first, dark segment of the show teases us along that perfect plot. To fulfil our obligation as a semi-music podcast, the following segment runs through the recent Grammy nominations. You’ll hear why artists do some of the things they do, including their ability to impact huge companies with their fans. As a side car, Donna shares the origin story of her relationship with Shaun Cassidy. The laziness of wealthy folks can result in some high-paying gigs for the rest of us. (Is that what they mean by Trickle Down Economics?) Caddy introduces a few gigs that are on the market, including some virus-related spots like people making $100+ per hour to stand in line. Donna’s side car touches on some cognitive behavior therapy. She just wants to know the root of Caddy’s Christmas aversion. And Disney aversion. And cruiseline Aversion. What would you pay someone to do for you? The next segment steps into some solemn material. Some news from the British royal family sparks a discussion on struggles women and their partners often experience but seldom discuss.
It’s time for some Thanksgiving mishaps. Caddy and Donna celebrate the day by reflecting on a few historical uh-ohs that have occurred over the years. Just for the record: It’s important to remove the bags and packaging from turkeys before cooking. Speaking of burnt birds, the next segment moves to cover Justin Bieber. Donna is a fan but worries about whether or not people take the artist seriously. Bars, vacations and quesadillas during a pandemic. Cadillac Jack is familiar with all of them. At the same time he also values the ability to use the pandemic as an excuse for what he doesn’t want to do. Don’t want to see someone? Pandemic. Family wants to come over? Pandemic. Holiday decorations need to go up? Pandemic. The flag is useful and the flag is versatile. Caddy takes a quick break in the run of show to apologize. He’s got to get something (else) off his chest. Zoom holiday office parties. Does anything get any worse? Caddy doesn’t even understand why they exist at all. (He’ll also be using another COVID excuse.) Donna has mixed feelings but for more understandable reasons. Donna and Cadillac Jack met at work, which is important to remember for the next segment. They cover why their first debut as an official couple got a little out of control. Let’s just say the event facility ran out of glassware within a half hour. And the facility had to shut down for a few months. Actually, it never opened back up. Anyways… Then at a David Allen Coe concert an on air personality was rendered incapacitated in front of the women’s bathroom. The company was not invited back. Then at a party in front of Papacito’s in Atlanta, an on air personality forgot to wear certain bits of clothing. Some assistant producers had to go around with an umbrella to jump in front of all photographers. The company, and certain personalities, were not invited back. Then at a holiday party hosted by Norm at the Ritz-Carlton, Caddy got his first taste of “richy salespeople,” who had camped out for the whole week. They were invited back. For a couple years, at least. But the gospel group that had split the ballroom with the company dropped out pretty early. The show finishes up by covering one woman who lost it when she finds out her husband will be working from home for 7 more months. Others have suggested that the work-from-home movement has disrupted marital affairs. Some suggest rolling their husband up in a carpet and dropping them in a lake. Donna and Caddy evaluate the whole thing and prescribe their own suggestions. Step one: tear out the thermostat. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go pick [My Second Act]’s socks off the floor.
Donna and Caddy brought their ham receipts on today’s episode of My Second Act. It’s a quick coverage of all things Honey-Baked, including what to do if you (or your hubby) forgets to order one. Then Donna tells the story of what Olivia thought of Zach Brown and the time she got to meet him at the station. One big happy Zamily here on the My Second Act podcast. The first major segment of the show covers the University of Georgia and why it’s admission process is similar to The Bachelor. For those of you who live outside the state, important to know how selective the school is. The average GPA? 4.0-4.3. Want to know what Caddy got the first time he took the ACT? Listen up. Want to know what Donna got? So do we. She withheld the answer. It’s an extended conversation about secondary education in America and predictions for the future of schooling. Have you been friending and unfriending folks now that the election is over? Reconsidering the relationships, if you will? Caddy is. Donna is. You know who else? Florida Georgia Line. Caddy and Donna dish the scoop on inter-band relations on the following segment. The last segment introduces the best part of the week: Appy Time! Donna has a pick that lets folks gift lists and organize what the family wants. It will tell you everything you need to know about what your loved ones want for the holidays (or birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, the whole 9 yards). Check it out. Then text Caddy what you want for Christmas. 7704646024.
Donna is used to plotting and planning, which is something that has gone out the window. This year it will affect her Black Friday shopping, and Cadillac Jack’s Cyber Monday experience. It reminds him of a time when an old Program Director made a judgement call and had Caddy working the holiday. The question is, should My Second Act also give away a parking spot? Then it’s time to talk about Taylor Swift. Her catalogue has been unwittingly sold. Again. Caddy and Donna cover the news with an interesting twist. Donna explains what a holding company is and why its use would make the transaction more disparaging to Taylor. Caddy touches on the Non Disclosure Agreement aspect and what a contract like that means for the situation. The next segment covers the new directives announced from Ticketmaster and the legal questions that come with it. Caddy thinks that because Ticketmaster is a ticket broker, their control does not extend to the venue itself. Donna wants to know how it applies to separate third-party vendors like StubHub. It further goes to show that we’re headed into unchartered territory. At least we’re out of the Bermuda Triangle. The Grammys are coming up, with nominations on Tuesday. Donna and Cadillac Jack run through some of the odds from Vegas and where Harry Styles’ styles originate. (That last part is just a little sidecar from Donna) Caddy is exhausted. There is some bedroom real estate being disputed. Donna knew that this was going to come up. She brought receipts and Caddy brought rhetoric. A tale as old as time. It’s Game Time in the Second Act nation. Brandon Engels calls in from Atlanta to play a quick match of Can’t Beat Jack. The topic from Donna has to do with this upcoming Turkey Day. Before sending the show out, Caddy and Donna cover a quick change in Zoom’s rules for Thanksgiving. It seems like it could lead to a good and healthy option for seeing family in 2020. Caddy and Donna reflect on the last holiday season and how family dynamics have changed in the time since. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but Caddy and Donna still have gone about a year without hugging loved ones. (PS- #FreeAl) Unfortunately, though, the problem with people Zoom bombing and flashing has not been solved. We’ll wait with baited breath. It’s like one long period of Daylight Savings. Warning: be careful of listening to the end of the show if you have a weak stomach. Or if you have an affinity for soft serve ice cream. If you don’t, give it a listen. Then text Caddy about it. 7704646024.
There’s something about Thomas Rhett. When artists get rolling they have a tendency to consistently put out fantastic material and that’s exactly what is happening with Thomas Rhett. That’s the first topic touched on during today’s Second Act. The conversation kicks off Donna and Caddy’s recap of the CMAs. There was a lot to cover, including how artistic Eric Church can be outside of music, and it’s all discussed on the show. Despite how the public responded to the awards (so says the ratings) Donna and Cadillac Jack both thought it was a great performance. The Uncorked Concert Series at Painted Horse Winery had it first performance this past weekend. Joanna Cotton took time to sit with Caddy and Donna and put a few things to rest, like whether or not Eric Church really did drop the “E.” Listen to her interview, which starts about 21 minutes into this episode. The interview just about finishes out the show, but not until Donna and Caddy move onto Carl Lentz and Hillsong. It’s a great segment to leave the show with, and the lesson that everyone has their own road within spirituality. It’s a good bet that you haven’t heard the last of Carl Lentz. It’s also not the last time you’ve heard from Cadillac Jack. But if you can’t wait, text him at 7704646024.
One, two, three, four, five, six… or something. With all the counting going on these days, Donna is having nightmares of her time as UGA Zeta’s rush chair. She’s also consistently asking herself W.W.D.P.D. For those who don't already know, that’s “What would Dolly Parton do?” The Country Music Awards have not escaped the effects of COVID-19. Artists have dropped out and performances have been moved around. The next episode of the podcast will feature a recap of the awards, as well as a quick conversation with Joanna Cotton. Ms. Cotton will tune into the show after her performances at the CMAs and the Uncorked Concert Series. Morgan Wallen is having some remorse about his University of Alabama / Saturday Night Live incident. Caddy and Donna discuss his actions, reactions and why he’ll end up just fine. Did someone say "Pay-For-Play?” Not us and definitely not Cadillac Jack. It’s not included or mentioned in the second segment of the show. Nor is a certain past producer in terrestrial radio who had a habit for hot mics. It’s hard to expect on-air talent, including broadcast journalists, to not let something slip when hot mics are involved. So says MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian. And My Second Act’s Cadillac Jack. Then it’s time for a round of Can’t Beat Jack. Aaron Gresham calls in to take on Cadillac Jack and see if he can beat him at his own game. (Here’s a hint: you’ll want to listen.) It’s a turbulent week. SEC Football is cancelled. Mike Tyson uses a prosthetic penis and calls it his Whizinator. Caddy remembers a time or two when he has purchased some urine. Donna laments. Caddy explains. Before closing the show, Donna wonders- doesn’t 11Alive’s Chris Holcomb also have a Whizinator? Text Caddy and let him know. 7704646024.
You called. We listened. The verdict is in and the episode has been declassified. Here's what Cadillac Jack had to get off his chest... Cadillac Jack is under the gun. It doesn’t take long, though, for him to admit he knew it was coming. Caddy has been busted. Today’s Second Act starts off with Cadillac Jack under the gun. It doesn’t take long, though, for him to admit he knew it was coming. After the brief confessional, Caddy and Donna move on to welcome Charlotte to the studio for a few playlist additions. It transitions well into a short segment on what it’s like to take your kids to the doctor. Or your husband to the doctor. Or the doctor to your husband. Then Caddy brings a couple Quick Hits to the table. They include a near-explosion at a Home Depot, the Return of (another) Beaver and a removed SNL guest. The section carries its own “Listeners Enter At Your Own Risk” label. Then it is Tuesday after all, which means the third segment is a game of Can’t Beat Jack. Taylor Garland from Cherokee County, Georgia calls in to play a match. Before she leaves, Taylor and Donna find common ground in their grumblings of Caddy and his Me-So-Phony condition. Call Caddy. He’s bored some days. 7704646024.
Cadillac Jack has been trying to suppress Donna’s vote all week. At the same time it was Caddy whose ballot was flagged when he got to the precinct. We’ll see which one will end up on the rolls. Eric Church has a few new songs out. Caddy thinks that means he has a double album in the pipeline. That’s because Eric Church with no street week, promotion or interviews, dropped Mr. Misunderstood. The show takes a turn and dives into the dichotomy or Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Taylor Swift. Caddy and Donna discuss publishing contengencies, like when an artist is restricted from performing or obligated to produce a certain number of albums. Listen and watch for more on the topic in upcoming shows. “Whole Foods makes me shake. It’s not just a store, it’s a machine.” Caddy feels discriminated against when he goes into Whole Foods. Donna thinks it may be warranted. It all shakes out in the fourth segment of the show. PS - As a comfort item, Cadillac Jack brought home a bag of peppered beef jerky and an entire pineapple upside down cake. And some gingerbread popcorn. And brown butter cookies. The show rolls through some presidential trivia. (“Who could say no to petroleum jelly?”) If you didn’t have enough to be worked up about, stay tuned for the fourth segment of the show- laundry day. As Donna says, it’s compelling content but we really needed to talk about Caddy’s processes. It’s… worrisome. And leads to the question of “What are you freakishly good or bad at?” There’s a pound of Libby’s Pumpkin in the pantry. Is it for pie? Unfortunately not. It’s for a pretty bAnal reason. It has always been important to have the whole family under one roof. And it’s been that way for a long time. But that’s changing, as Wil is about to move away to Knoxville. The show ends on a more serious, down to earth tone as Caddy and Donna share their initial reaction to the change. Donna feels like she and Wil are ready, she’s excited for the next chapter. Caddy is having a harder time with it. Sometimes it’s just nice to have everyone at dinner.
There was a horrible storm in the southeast- Tropical Storm Zeta. Some of its effects were felt by Donna and Cadillac Jack. After giving a brief report, Caddy and Donna move on to covering how it relates to Naked and Afraid. Let’s put it this way- if you were on the show, how much pixelization would you need? We make this promise to you: there is (almost) no talk of the 2020 election on this podcast. The one time it does come up today is when Donna pitches her theory that Melania Trump has a body double. “I’m not going there.” A few bits of big news in the life of Cadillac Jack. The McRib is back. Parents are moving away from testing. Power tools (including coffee makers) are over rated. Then hear a snippet from the Mark Wills interview and get a bit of the perspective of a singer-songwriter in 2020.
Christmas has been cancelled for the Jacks. Roscoe had to go to the emergency room and his treatments drained the holiday slush fund. He’s doing much better now but it goes to show: be careful what you get into in Cadillac Jack’s backyard. After filling everyone in on Roscoe’s status, Caddy and Donna move on to Borat. Whether you’re a fan or not, everyone must acknowledge the strength of the work. If the Tourism Department for Kazakhstan can appreciate it, so can you. That’s why the segment includes a clip that the international agency has used to promote the country. After filling in a couple plugs, the Jacks move on to covering their night out in Alpharetta. It involves a curb, a bar and one cool mom. Also Megan Thee Stallion (@theestallion), a cross-body bag and an unmarked taxi. We’ll put it this way: we really had to cut the segment down. Caddy gives Greg Barnhill a call around 20 minutes into the show. Greg is joining Caddy at the Uncorked Concert Series and gives a peek behind the curtain into what it’s like to be a songwriter. It’s a quick conversation that you’ll want to hear. Then it’s the best time of the week: Donna’s Appy Segment. Donna’s pick is a way to stretch your brain, pass the time on commutes or get inspired. It’s an overall great way to get starTED learning about fields that interest you. To close out the show, we hear from Officer Ritchey. The Jacks had been wondering about the legal nuances of making a citizens’ arrest and Ritchey has some answers. He calls in to share his thoughts (and stop Caddy from hogtying strangers). It's your last chance to like Hemp Farmacy - Alpharetta on Facebook, so make sure you do. Then text Caddy about it. 7704646024.
On this special show of the My Second Act podcast, Mark Wills sits down (virtually) with Donna and Cadillac Jack. You’ll be surprised to hear what it’s like to have your world inverted as a touring musician, to interact with fans through a new channel (From The Bunker!) and to travel the country with your family in an RV…. for fun. This is an episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act that you won’t want to miss.
Would you ever join a nudist colony? What about visit a nude beach? What’s the difference? Donna and Cadillac Jack start the show answering those questions. Unfortunately there aren’t any tips on how to hold the cup of coffee. Then some quick hits from Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey and Rich Robinson. It makes Donna ask if popular music will ever be the same. Find out November 20th with Garth. The show is excited to have Mark WIlls on next week to talk about what these past months have been like from the perspective of an artist. Mark and the Jacks go way back, all the way to The Buckboard days when Mark was the lead singer of “The Buckboard Bandits.” Cadillac Jack talks about some of the questions he is looking forward to asking. It should be a very real, insightful and down to earth conversation that you won’t hear anywhere else. Would you live in a van down by the river right now? Just ask Chris Farley in his classic SNL skit. Caddy and 52% of Americans say they’d be open to living in a van during the pandemic. Donna isn't so sure but after the first segment, she may come around. Caddy and Donna take the next segment to talk about the importance of voting. They have a few unique reasons that you haven’t been hearing- setting a good example for your kids. It’s sending a message of what’s important- regardless of who gets the vote. Caddy gets stood up in the third segment and Officer Phil Ritchey will have to pay for it.
Have you ever been in the bar, barefoot, at last call, when the Cowboys show up? Donna has, and knows it has happened to Caddy too, because she was with him when it happened. Believe it or not there was a time when some Florida Georgia Line was considered “new country” and certain radio stations wouldn’t play it. Bet that has changed since then. Caddy and Donna talk about it and why it’s important for songs to have an intro. Here’s a hint: without an intro it’s impossible for radio to sell the song or sell the artist. How do you organize your memes? Where do you get them? How do you use them? Those are the gripping questions that steal the second segment of the show. They might even lead into a new Appy segment next week. Then it’s time for round 6 and to see if the great Ben Burnett can beat Jack. Ben calls in to the show to play a quick round of Can’t Beat Jack and talk shop with the Choates. Skip forward to about 19 minutes in to hear the game but hold onto your hats- at least one contestant runs the board. Don't forget to give Hemp Farmacy - Alpharetta a like on Facebook to win a Halloween gift basket. Then text Caddy about it. 7704646024.
Caddy is self-diagnosing. This week the ailments have been racking up and Cadillac Jack knows what prescription he needs. It’s important for folks to bank their fame. Whether industry-deep personalities or organic rising stars, you never want to be the last person at the party. Well, unless you’re Cadillac Jack. On a serious note, handling fame and admiration well is a trait that can end up being very useful. With a few exceptions, Caddy has been blessed to have high quality coaches and program directors. Donna and Caddy spend a few minutes covering what that productive management looks like and how it can help. The Bachelor is back. Caddy and Donna talk about the franchise, but not in the way you’d expect. The Bachelorette recently enforced its contract, forcing a contestant to pay up for “making disparaging comments.” It makes history and Set your own goals with Donna’s Appy of the Week. It brings you into a supportive community and uses that platform to help build you up. It’s the best segment of the week. Then to round out the show, Caddy and Donna run through a few heart-warming updates in the Atlanta area. Do Caddy a favor and like Hemp Farmacy Alpharetta’s Facebook page. You could win a gift basket from one of Second Act’s longtime supporters. Then, text Caddy about it. 7704646024.
The secret is out. 7704646024.
Christy and Richard Roth join Cadillac Jack in the studio for this bonus episode of My Second Act. The three of them chat about CBD as the Roths answer questions from listeners. You'll hear about the difference between products, what they can treat and why it's so important to buy CBD from folks you trust. Go Like the Hemp Farmacy and win a Halloween gift basket at the end of the month. Questions? Give them a call at 770-676-0853.
Eddie Van Halen passed away. Caddy and Donna speak about the history of Van Halen and some of their own memories surrounding the group. Donna collected, saved and then camped out in a Ford Expedition to see Van Halen. That last one actually resulted in a short-fused relationship. Then Donna and Caddy talk about Nathan Apodaca, a father from Wyoming whose love of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice has paid off. It’s a light, heartwarming story that’ll give you a smile and boost Fleetwood Mac’s streaming numbers. The show was right- Saturday Night Live was pretty dang good this past weekend. Donna and Caddy cover a couple of the highlights before turning to this weekend’s SNL, which be hosted by Bill Burr with musical guest Morgan Wallen. On a similar note, some news has been released about this year’s Country Music Awards. You’ll hear a quick host recap from Caddy and Donna, plus a disclaimer from Dolly Parton. Reba McEntire Trump, Suburbans and PPE. Caddy wants to know- who signed off on this? It’s sort of like how Kenny Chesney used to be moved around concert venues hidden in a road case. Did that happen here? Where are the emails? Where are the road cases?
On this Second Act you’ll get a few potty jokes and one quick game of Can’t Beat Jack. Have you ever had to make a call from inside the restroom? Well, you’re not alone. Be careful tuning in to the first segment of the show, when Caddy and Donna cover a recent trip to Benihana. Moving right along, the show plays a new game: Are You Smarter Than A [6th] Grader? It’s because there was recently an article that has everyone worried. Apparently the average parent is no better at math or science than a 6th grader. On a serious note, the reason it makes it onto the show is because of the increased pressure and stakes that grade school students are experiencing. When traditionally there has been movement as kids graduate from year to year, now folks may be less-inclined to focus on school. Grades, motivation and future inspiration seem like they’re taking a dip. Betsie Richards comes on the show to play a game of You Can’t Beat Jack. The category is “people who are -gists.” All ties go to Cadillac Jack and we foresee that becoming a problem. Call Caddy at 7704646024 or tweet @ATLCadillac and tell him what you think. Just don't do it from Benihana.
Have you ever been asked to play beer pong at 1 PM in the afternoon? What about poker? For Donna the answer is yes- both happened this week. The first presidential debate was Tuesday and that only means one thing- Saturday Night Live is going to be really good this weekend. Caddy and DOnna run through a couple clips from the “debate” and talk about some of the more serious implications. Then you’ll here a couple lighthearted clips that will definitely catch jokes on SNL (which returns this Saturday). Did you know that Daughters Day was this week? Caddy did. Donna did. Want to guess which one celebrated it? Then finally tt’s the best time of the week: Appy. Donna’s new favorite app is all about meal prepping and healthy eating. As usual the show rounds off with a Pod Peep or two before rolling off for a weekend of cold opens. Take a listen, give a watch and then text Caddy about it. 7704646024.
It’s a tough show today on Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. Everything gets rolling when Donna brings to the table a story of a man who just didn’t want to get rescued. If it was Caddy in the quarry, she would have been ticked. If it was Donna, she wouldn’t have wanted anyone to intervene. After explaining that one particular difference between men and women, the Jacks move to covering a few quick hits: some NYC policies regarding certain public actions and a new Michael Jackson “souvenir” for sale. After those two sound bites, Caddy and Donna cover a few bits of Entertainment/Music news. Then it’s finally time for a new round of Can’t Beat Jack. Holly Bagby calls in to play live for the first. She is used to playing from the road, but this is her first time live on the show. It’s an “abbreviated” edition- you’ll hear why. After the game, Donna and Caddy cover some fresh statistics from Pollstar. Let’s just say, we’re all about to see a whole new kind of live event. The show rounds off as it always does with a pod peep or two. Be one. Text 7704646024 or find Caddy @atlcadillac.
Donna is going grave robbing before the bodies are even warm. She’s headed into cubicles looking for keyboards, pens and left behind medicine balls. It’s Alicia Keys’ street week. If you’ve been keeping up with this semi-music podcast, you’ll know that means Alicia has an album coming out. It’s also the first street week we’ve seen since the pandemic (or whatever you’d like to call it) interrupt the norm. It is the first time Caddy and Donna see an answer to their question: will the entertainment industry ever look the same? Then Donna takes a trip back to Ridgemont High and gives Caddy a tour of what he has missed. Hear Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston replaying a scene and taking us all down memory lane. It’s a clip from a charity read by an actor who lives down the road from Caddy and Donna. Then the show gets slapped an Explicit rating after another trip, this one up Schitt’s Creek. The Jacks use some of their podcasting perks that Jimmy Kimmel, the Emmys and Joe Rogan don’t enjoy. The show gets its semi-politics podcast rating on the following segment, one that covers the recent passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It’s a solemn segment that is lightened with the fact that Donna loves a good fall video. And Mitch “The Turtle” McConnell obliges. To end the show, Caddy and Donna talk about the early stages of their relationship after a listener called in to ask about kindling. @atlcadillac. 7704646024. You know what to do.
Donna and Caddy are having some food fights. Donna thinks that Roscoe undervalues Boars Head. Caddy had to leave dinner the other night because of some particular taco shells. There is a lot of tossing and turning going on upstairs at the Jack house. On the following segment, Caddy talks through some of the possible reasons. Tug Cowart phones into the show to recap the Academy of Country Music Awards and play a round of You Can’t Beat Jack. McDonalds has gone mining. Their partnership with Travis Scott has taken a turn that, according to Caddy, is dastardly brilliant. It all started a few months ago when the rapper blew off social distancing, pulled up in a Lamborghini and looked for a burger. Donna explains why the event’s origins might be a little different and thinks it’s the kind of marketing the money can’t buy. The topic blends perfectly into the best segment of My Second Act: Donna’s Appy. Hear about a new way to care and learn about your little green friends. Selfcare has become so much more important recently but it’s also been a lot more… awkward. Some things that were once relaxing, like “Caddy Time,” can feel labored. Still, there are moments that can be savored. Atlanta Braves’ Freddy (?) Freeman jumped on a jet to fly home and see his son’s first T-Ball practice. The middle segment turns sentimental as Caddy and Donna reflect on the relationship between parents and children. Lastly Carole Baskin and Chris Evans make their way back to the show for an Entertainment News segment. The bottom line is: how low would you go, and how long would you linger there? Come back Saturday morning for the ACM recap. Then text Caddy about it. Just remember, it’s not where you start, it’s where you end.
The Jacks are feeling the love. That's why Donna brought five love languages to the table and forgot all the white wine. They're all covered on the first segment of the show right before Caddy “Get’s Down On It.” There’s an upcoming collaboration between Travis Scott and McDonalds. It’s actually a pretty big deal, as the last person to score a similar deal was Michael Jordan. All you have to do to participate is use a certain phrase in the Mickey D’s drive-thru. Caddy tried it for himself, sharing both his experience and wait time. The ACM Awards are coming up. There will be a bonus show covering the results, but first Donna and Caddy run through a couple previews. Luke Combs, Taylor Swift and Eric Church are all ones to watch. The debates are coming up, too, and some of the plans bode well for the podcast industry. The 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is cancelled. Tik Tok has been saved. Chris Evans’ pecker has seen the light of day. Donna and Caddy touch all three in today’s Entertainment News. Rolling out of the segment, the show covers a traditionally Southern method of paying respects before closing with a few minutes of Donna's least favorite game.
As a Saturday treat, we’re releasing a special episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. Christy and Richard Roth stopped in to the studio to talk with Caddy and Donna about Hemp Farmacy. The first segment touches on the upcoming Halloween holiday. Wait, what? In all seriousness, Donna says that couple costumes have always been a part of the Jack’s relationship. They run through a couple of past favorites and pitch a few ideas for this year. Then Donna gives an update on her 141 campaign. She is charging everyone to do one new, productive thing for one month. Donna has heard from a lot of folks about their progress and wants to encourage others to take it on. One of the subjects Donna wants to pick up the 141 challenge is on the show today. That person is Cadillac Jack. Hear where he is on his own growth journey. Then Donna and Caddy hear a clip from Caddy Wagon that speaks to the question: Can you make a left on red? After Officer Ritchey gives his answer, Donna moves into the best segment of the month: Appy. The Appy is a great way to get discounts on medicine and other prescriptions. If you or someone in your family regularly goes to a pharmacy, make sure to listen in.
It’s another great show on the My Second Act semi-music podcast. This one has games, background and three advertisements. First of all, what’s your checkout policy? During COVID, some folks are encouraging others to check yourselves out. That’s the advice that Donna wants to listen to. Caddy has some opposing views about who should be checking out who right now. It’s game time in the Cadillac Jack nation. Before they play a live lightning round, Caddy and Donna introduce themselves to new listeners, providing some color for the ride they’re about to take. Familiarize yourself with backstories and the whole field of recurring characters, from Roscoe to Richard. Then, it’s time to play. Susan Clark chimes in to the show today to take on Caddy in a 20 second pop culture trivia game called You Can’t Beat Jack. It’s a completely original and never before done broadca- er, podcast segment where quick-fire answers are the way to win. Tune in, shout out and then text Caddy about it. 7704646024.

Caddy explains why and answers the popular question of who exactly can vote in the CMAs. The second segment of the show covers some music news for the State of Georgia and specifically, the City of Atlanta. It’s estimated that 20,000 music professionals live and work in the state. Based on the show’s semi-music designation from Apple, it’s unclear where Caddy and Donna fit in there. On the following segment, Caddy and Donna talk about the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman. He was an incredible actor whose diagnosis was kept under wraps from almost everyone. It’s a powerful example that those around you can be dealing with immense struggles. Caddy and Donna turn around the show with a quick game of Which Came First? It’s a trivia game that will be a warm up to thie upcoming round of You Don’t Know Jack. Here are some early vision The Empire State Building or Clint Eastwood? King King or Ping Pong? The newest season of Dancing With The Husband Killers is coming soon. The featured entrant? That’s right. It’s Carole Baskin. After that she is headed to Animal Crossing to put up campaign signs. Caddy explains the nuances of the situation and why it has to do with the lack of Joe Biden boat parades. Donna and Cadillac Jack almost make it to the fifth segment without earning the show its “Explicit” tag. This one comes from the discussion of OnlyFans. Donna thinks that it promotes the concept of directly paying creators for their content. She says it will move away from “the naughty bits.” Caddy says he isn’t interested in any of that. Today’s episode of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act is a quick hit. First off, Susan Clark intro’s the show. Not only does Susan Clark does she pipe us in, but comes with fighting’ words. Susan is the only person who has (allegedly) Beat Caddy twice. We can’t remember the old name, but we’ll have a rematch of You Don’t Know Jack to settle the score. Donna and Caddy cover their feelings about upcoming holidays like Labor Day and Halloween. After that, Donna tells Caddy about the time she was encouraged to steal Clarence Clemons’ hip replacement card. Spoiler Alert: she returned it to him. Donna and Caddy are not fans. There’s a hunch that Tug Cowart isn’t either. Then Donna talks about a new project from Chris Stapleton that features some folks from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It really seems like this year has been a loop, so don’t miss those deadlines. Then Caddy and Donna recap the newest episode of Hustle, an interview with Ethan Daniels, before previewing a s[ecial edition of My Second Act. Watch for a bonus show covering the Academy of Country Music Awards in just a few weeks. Caddy has seen a few beavers over the years and is surprised that they do not all look alike. Donna explains why. Caddy thinks. It sounds like a new game… All it took was a trash bag, a pair of cooking tongs and two and half minutes for Caddy to get rid of his opossum. Donna and the Ring got the whole thing on tape. Speaking of which, Donna wants to know what’s going on with Caddy’s tools. As Caddy recently said himself, “Tug you’ve known me for 20 years. Do you think I own a shovel?” Listen to minute 16 to hear why a bike rider had to stop and remove their helmet when behind Caddy’s truck. What are the 10 things around the house every one should know how to do? Donna brought a list. So did Caddy. How do you stack up? Donna’s Appy/Appie of the Week makes a big splash. Cadillac Jack and Donna cover a project from Brothers Osborne and how they rank in Outlaw Country. Then Dynamite lands on the Hype Song Playlist, as BTS launches their first entirely-english song. Continuing their Semi-Music podcast theme, Caddy and Donna go over the New Artist winners from the Academy of Country Music. Caddy has some news about Netflix that comes with a confession. The intro brings a new segment to the show called “Maria or not?” Wait, no, it’s “Hear and Tell.” After the game, Caddy and Donna move on to some of the unexpected impacts of these new masks. From social implications at school to environmental concerns that sound awfully familiar. Before the show ends, Donna talks about the changes she wants to make in the bedroom. Caddy likes the idea so much, he said he’d sleep in it. Billy Oliver intro’d the show. He was Donna’s across-the-street neighbor growing up. She has a lot of fond memories of the neighborhood crew playing softball, baseball and going to the Oliver’s house to watch Evel Knievel. Nowadays Billy is married and has a son who is training to be an advanced EMT. Billy just got his 25-year company pin, though we hope his 26th year is better than Caddy’s! He is so positive and encouraging and we are so glad for his support. Check out Caddy Wagon and Hustle, both podcasts are out now. When you’re done, tell us what you think. 770-464-6024.
