Bill Maher welcomes country music superstar Kenny Chesney to Club Random for a conversation that starts with sold-out stadiums and ends somewhere much deeper. Kenny reflects on his ""hillbilly rock star"" glory days, why he's never canceled a show in nearly three decades, and the bus-ride epiphany that convinced him to stop drinking before performances. He also pulls back the curtain on creating the visuals for his record-breaking Sphere residency. Kenny gushes over Religulous, while Bill tells stories about Larry Flynt's gold wheelchair and Bill Clinton's legendary charm. Then one simple question about legacy cracks the whole conversation wide open: what happens to everything you've built when you don't have kids? Sometimes a show starts with a plan. Other times it turns into 30 minutes of Alice Cooper golf stories, celebrity colonoscopy competitions, and an unexpected debate about Grateful Dead clothing. Guess which one happened today. On this episode of The Rizzuto Show, the crew dives headfirst into another beautifully unhinged morning of entertainment news, questionable life choices, and the kind of conversations that probably shouldn't happen before breakfast.First up, Blink-182 fans are losing their minds after hints of a major anniversary celebration for Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. Is a tour coming? New music? A giant reunion of people who still know every word to "The Rock Show"? The crew investigates. Then we learn that Alice Cooper accidentally left his credit card at a gas station during a golf trip in Arizona. Luckily, it was found by a fan who returned it instead of funding the world's weirdest shopping spree. The gang discusses Alice's legendary golf obsession, his friendship with Groucho Marx, and how the guy somehow still looks cooler than all of us combined.Things get even stranger when Tom Hanks reveals that he, Steve Martin, and Martin Short host actual colonoscopy parties. Not metaphorical parties. Real parties. Complete with competition, suffering, and discussions nobody asked for but everyone immediately became fascinated by. Naturally, the crew spends way too much time debating which show member they'd be most comfortable pooping in front of. Science demands answers.Elsewhere, Moon admits he's becoming dangerously attracted to Grateful Dead merchandise despite knowing almost nothing about the band. Is this maturity? A midlife crisis? A cry for help? The jury remains out.The celebrity chaos keeps rolling as Taylor Swift wedding rumors heat up, Jack White quietly drops news about a new album, Alanis Morissette launches a theatrical stage production, and Hugh Laurie apologizes after accidentally unleashing the internet on a TV critic. Because apparently getting drunk and tweeting remains undefeated. And then things really go off the rails when the crew ranks the greatest country summer songs ever recorded. Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett, Zac Brown Band, strawberry wine, cold beer, lake life, and approximately 47 references to boats somehow dominate the conversation. By the end, you'll either want to buy a pontoon boat or file a noise complaint against country radio. If you love weird celebrity stories, ridiculous debates, pop culture commentary, and a group of friends constantly distracting each other from the topic at hand, this episode delivers exactly what you'd expect from a daily comedy show. And if you're somehow listening while preparing for a colonoscopy, congratulations—you've found the perfect soundtrack. This daily comedy show proudly answers life's biggest questions:Should Grateful Dead merch require a knowledge test?Is a colonoscopy party friendship's highest form? Can Kenny Chesney survive without mentioning sand, boats, or cold beer? Why does Alice Cooper somehow have the coolest retirement plan ever?We don't solve them. We just make them funnier.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

For the 100th episode of their show "How We Heard It," the podcast team is giving you the music artists who give 100 percent. Musicians are like any other group of workers. Some are tireless - endlessly productive, relentlessly creative or both. Others fill the status quo, doing what might be expected, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. Still others are just plain lazy, pushing their work off on others, making excuses why they can't do more and invariably disappointing their supporters, time and time again. It's not about talent, it's about effort. This week "How We Heard It" is all about effort. While other artists might knock out a new album every few years, these artists are producing twice that output. Or while other artists are sticking to their established style (same themes, same sound), these super-producers are constantly exploring new ways to express themselves, tweaking and reinventing their art as they go and challenging their followers to keep up. The same goes for live shows: Some artists are constantly on tour, giving their all on stage night after night. Others rarely tour - and when they do, they just phone it in. Not surprisingly, effort and success don't exactly overlap. (Life is never fair, is it?) Some of the most ordinary artists generate the biggest sales, draw the most fans and win the most awards while some extraordinary artists struggle on the edge of obscurity. Yet every now and then, the brightest and hardest working artists will be among the most popular. Where do your favorites rank? "How We Heard It" takes a look at everyone from Bob Dylan and Elton John to Kenny Chesney and Adele to Taylor Swift and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Their conclusions might surprise you.
Chad's solo on the mic with a lot on his mind and a few things he wants you to know about. First up is Freedom Hunters. Founded by Anthony Pace, Freedom Hunters gets returning veterans, active duty, and special forces out into the field. Hunting trips, fishing excursions, time in God's country. Chad's been in the blind with these warriors, and he'll tell you straight about how much it matters. The Freedom Hunters Nashville Classic is Sunday, June 21st and Monday, June 22nd, at the Nashville Palace and Hermitage Golf Club. Tables are available. Come shake some hands. Then there's the Silent Valor Project. This is a newer organization that Chad's been asked to join the board of. The mission is getting special forces operators transitioned into the private sector when their service is done. Rangers, SEALs, the ones you can't even name. They fought for this country, and then the country makes it hard for them to find work. This project wants to change that. June 24th in Las Vegas, Seth Vandover and his band are throwing down at Caspians inside Caesars Palace. Kenny Chesney's at the Sphere that night. This is the after-party. Proceeds go to the Silent Valor Project. And if you're in Temecula, Gary LaVox, lead singer of Rascal Flatts, is doing an acoustic performance at Hendo's Barrel House on June 11th. It's almost sold out, so move fast. Chad loves this country. He loves the people who protect it. This episode is his way of saying so. This episode is brought to you by The Silent Valor Project, Freedom Hunters, Demerbox, Almost Heaven Saunas, and The Nashville Palace. Lets go!

Dan Tyminski was six years old when his parents began taking him to fiddle contests, square dances, and bluegrass festivals across New England. For a young musician who would later become one of the biggest names in modern-day bluegrass, those early experiences were life changing.“Watching live music always spoke to me much louder than sitting in front of my record player,” he remembers. “I loved it. Wherever music was being played, I wanted to go watch. Years later, I still feel that way.”Throughout his 30+ year career, Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. His voice famously accompanies George Clooney's performance of the Stanley Brothers' classic song, “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow,” in the film, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? and his vocal collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii on the song “Hey Brother” was a global smash, having been streamed more than a billion times to date. His diverse solo projects and years of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station have yielded troves of award-winning music. In recent years, Tyminski's live shows with the Dan Tyminski Band have become bluegrass fan favorites and are regularly on the must-see lists among music fans of any genre. With his newest album release – the Grammy-nominated 2024 concert album Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman – he captures the magic of those live shows, while also proving that he still has the same passion for live music as he did when he was growing up. His earliest touring and recording work was as a part of the band, Green Mountain Bluegrass. He later joined the influential bluegrass group, Lonesome River Band, before embarking on his three decades of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station. The first album that Tyminski recorded as a solo artist was the soul-stirring Carry Me Across the Mountain (2000), followed by the Grammy-nominated Wheels (2008) which was named the 2009 Album of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. His work with the EDM artist, Avicii, inspired Dan to create the genre-defying Southern Gothic album, released in 2017 to much critical acclaim. Tyminski would then showcase again his heart for bluegrass with the 2022 EP tribute to Tony Rice, One More Time Before You Go, which included guest performances by Molly Tuttle, Sam Bush, Dailey & Vincent, and Billy Strings. The following year saw the release of the full-length bluegrass album, God Fearing Heathen, which quickly hit #1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart. Over the course of his career, Tyminski has also evolved into a prolific songwriter, penning songs with Monty Criswell, Phillip Lammonds, Kristian Bush, Ashley Monroe, Chris Stapleton and many others. Dan has been honored with 14 Grammy Awards and is a four-time Male Vocalist of the Year honoree by the International Bluegrass Music Association. He has also recorded instrumental or vocal harmony contributions for projects by Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Joan Osborne, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Rob Thomas, and Charlie Haden, to name a few. Tyminski certainly represents the pinnacle of modern bluegrass music. While Dan enjoys a good conversation and a good cigar, he can often be found participating in charitable Pro-Am golf tournaments, as well as competing regularly in the Foosball tournament circuit.

What does Nashville actually listen for when deciding whether a country song gets cut—or passed on? In this TAXI TV live stream, we're joined by Steve Bloch, a veteran Nashville music publisher, song plugger, and A&R professional who's been working in the Music Row community since 1993. Steve has had songs cut by major artists including Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack, Dierks Bentley, and Cody Johnson, and has pitched material that landed with artists like Kenny Chesney and Tracy Byrd. Today, he continues working closely with top Nashville talent and artists at labels like Black River Entertainment, including Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Young, as well as long-time collaborators tied to Dolly Parton's camp. We're going inside the decision-making process that most songwriters never get to see.
You've never met a mother quite like Paul Cauthen. The outrageous Texas country singer remains proudly defiant on his new album The Book of Paul, which he says is about “the freaking trials and tribulations of Paul.” In a new episode of Rolling Stone's Nashville Now podcast, the man known as “Big Velvet” tells us exactly what those tribulations are. He also talks about writing songs for Beyoncé, explains a lyric that dissed Kenny Chesney, and reveals where his alter-ego “Big Velvet” ends and Paul Cauthen begins. It's a wild ride with one of country music's most complex figures. Country is Here… Nashville is Now. Check out our Hear Now playlist on Spotify, updated weekly. Learn more about your ad choices. He heard all the "olds," but then Garth Brooks came along to change the game and it became something Jake needed to dive into. After fifteen years in his own chiropractic practice, he found himself on NBC's The Voice with Blake Shelton as his mentor and made his way into the finals. He released his first album in 2012 and has kept the music coming ever since. Not only does he love music, he loves his fellow man and his desire to help people—especially veterans—is extraordinary. He's an artist with a lot of heart and ton of music and love in that heart. All songs on this show are used with the permission of Jake Gill."Kansas Queen" written and performed by Jake Gill℗ 2014 Jake Gill."I Saw Jesus In A Bar" written and performed by Jake Gill℗ 2025 Jacob D. Youtube InstagramSpotifyBioAbe Yellen's latest single, “South of Italy,” unfolds like a vivid dream an emotionally rich meditation on heartbreak, longing, and the slow journey toward healing. Anchored by layered harmonies reminiscent of The Beach Boys and a hauntingly intimate chorus, Yellen captures the raw vulnerability of love lost. As the song builds, swelling drums and orchestral arrangements expand the sonic landscape, guiding listeners from introspection toward emotional release. The track's gradual ascent reflects the reality of moving through grief, mirroring the experience of a scenic train ride one that inspired the song during Yellen's own travels to Positano on Italy's Amalfi Coast. “When something hard happens, we want to move on as quickly as possible,” Yellen explains. “But it's okay to sit in sorrow, let it run its course, and take your time before moving forward.”Music runs deep in Yellen's family lineage, with Grammy-winning relatives and an uncle who tours as guitarist for country superstar Kenny Chesney. His earliest performances took place in church, where he first learned to play guitar, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to music.Professionally, Yellen began his career as a roadie for his brother Winston's indie folk band, Night Beds. Thrust unexpectedly into the role of drummer during a live performance, Yellen rose to the challenge a defining moment that launched his evolution as a musician. He later transitioned to guitar, developed into a sought-after full-time producer, and formed his own band in Austin, Texas. Now based in Los Angeles, Yellen is turning his creative focus inward, channeling years of production experience into his own artistry. This renewed direction culminates in his forthcoming album, The Long Goodbye, set for release later this spring. The project explores themes of love, loss, reflection, and renewal, further establishing Yellen's voice as both intimate and expansive.“South of Italy,” released January 30 with promotional support from Starlight PR, is available across all streaming platforms. Fans can anticipate upcoming music videos and live performances throughout Southern California.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

Our guest this week on The Working Songwriter hails from The Woodlands, Texas. Hayes Carll is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller whose sharp wit and plainspoken poetry first broke through with his 2002 debut, 'Flowers & Liquor.' That was followed by 2008's 'Trouble in Mind,' which delivered the hit "She Left Me for Jesus" and cemented his place among the genre's most distinctive voices. Carll has toured with artists like Old Crow Medicine Show, Todd Snider, and Alison Krauss and his songs have been covered by Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, and Kenny Chesney. He's recorded for Lost Highway, Dualtone, and Thirty Tigers and he's performed on stages from Newport Folk Festival to Austin City Limits and the Grand Ole Opry. 'Rolling Stone' praises his work for its "razor-sharp wit and lived-in warmth," while NPR notes his "keen eye for the human condition wrapped in disarming charm." 'American Songwriter' calls him "one of Americana's most reliable truth-tellers." Our show's most frequent guest pops by to discuss his latest album "We're Only Human" and finding a creative voice that's more true to himself. Interested in sponsoring us? It’s Nancy’s birthday! Karly got her a cake that says “Happy Birthday Grancy” (the grandma name she hates). Karly had some awkward moments at the Rascal Flatts show. She wore a Lightning McQueen t-shirt and told the band she loved them in the Hannah Montana Movie. She posted about it on TikTok and Gary Levox commented on it. Then she accidentally brought up Taylor Swift to a guy that works at her old label, the one where there’s some bad blood between them. Are we going to get ice and/or snow this weekend? Joey used a sewing machine for the first time this weekend at church. His wife signed the family up to help make blankets for people in need. He thought about trying to get out of it, but he decided to just do it. Hot Tea: Dolly Parton turned 80 years old yesterday and says that if you don’t let yourself get old then you won’t. Chris Stapleton might retire sooner than we think, and when he does, he’s shaving the beard. Kenny Chesney admitted that he got so distracted while performing at The Sphere that he forgot his own song lyrics. What did your parents make you apologize for? Joey once accidentally drove through a neighbor's yard and drove away, but his mom made him walk over there and admit what he did. Nancy stole a paper envelope from a store when she was 5 and her mom made her return it and apologize. It’s Nancy’s birthday and she asked Joey to serenade her. He played his piano and sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Lucky 7 for $50 to Pinchy’s Joey keeps track of how much money his kids owe him. They like to buy toys in the store, but Joey has them use their own money. He covers the cost for them but expects to get the money back once they get home and have access to it. Nancy thinks he is teaching them responsibility and wishes she did that with her kids. Group Therapy: Am I A Jerk for Not Tipping on To-Go Orders? We take a deep dive into the world of AI and music with artists Dylan Heidt and Jeff Dayton.Jeff Dayton is an American musician, singer, producer and songwriter best known as being the bandleader for Glen Campbell and the Jeff Dayton Band for 15 years, plus touring with Kenny Chesney and Lee Greenwood.Dayton performed with club bands in the upper Midwest, including a year with the KO Band, which was fronted by Bob Dylan studio musician Kevin Odegard. Their producer was David Z and their drummer a young Bobby "Z" Rivkin.Dayton moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona and formed the Dayton-Privett Band with Mark Prentice, Tom Sawyer and Ron Privett. After 2 years, Privett left the band, and was replaced with Dave Watson; the band was renamed High Noon Band and continued until the band went their separate ways. Dayton then formed the Jeff Dayton Band, and over time about 100 different musicians performed under that name with Dayton, notably steel guitarist Ed Black, guitarist Bob "Willard" Henke, Grammy award winner producer Michael B (aka Mike Broening), drummer Mickey McGee, banjo player Bruce Leland, drummer Merel Bregante, bassist Doug Haywood, etc.[1][15]High Noon won the Wrangler Country Showdown and the Jeff Dayton Band won the Marlboro Talent Roundup. The JDB was named New Times' Best of the Decade's Best Award.[4] In addition, Dayton wrote and recorded That Lady Can Love which became his first #1 record at KNIX-FM and another song earned a platinum songwriting award for George Strait with "Any Old Time." The song was also released as the "B" side of Strait's single "The Cowboy Rides Away."Dayton and band opened for Merle Haggard, The Judds and Alabama in 1987. After a chance meeting with Glen Campbell that evening and an impromptu jam session at the grand opening of Jack Nicklaus' Desert Mountain golf course, Dayton and his group were hired to tour with Campbell.[5][6]For the next 15 years the Jeff Dayton band performed on worldwide tours, TV and record dates, celebrity events and many concerts.[7][8] While Glen Campbell's' musical director, he conducted many symphony orchestras and even Les Brown and His Band of Renown. Highlights included shows at the White House, NBC's The Today Show and the Grand Ole Opry stage. Campbell and the Jeff Dayton Band also played with Gene Autry, Willie Nelson, Bob Hope, Vince Gill and dozens more."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
