If you're a child of divorce or if you're a parent facing separation and divorce, then you're intimately familiar with just how broken, expensive, exhausting, and toxic for our children the current culture of divorce in the United States is. Fortunately, alternatives exist, and experts are ready and willing to help you navigate divorce and find your best path forward. On this episode of Divorce, Healthy!, attorney and author Ashley-Nicole Russell, of https://anrlaw.com/ (ANR Law), welcomes Wendy Hernandez, a family law attorney and host of https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3v2tvsfJxXJSVs7GZedIeg (Command the Courtroom) on YouTube. They offer timely insight and guidance on moving forward with your life after divorce. Wendy explores her transition into family law after beginning her career as a criminal defense attorney. Wendy found that a number of her criminal defense clients were also facing stressful domestic and family law issues. Her daughter was also a motivating factor in choosing to pivot to a career helping children and families.  Wendy understands how devastating it can be to a child for their parent to lose sight of their interests in the whirlwind of divorce, focusing only on the parent's conflict with the spouse. Quoting a friend, Wendy says, “[i] t's not divorce that messes kids up, it's the conflict between the parents.” (2:35) Wendy also has practical advice on how to begin the divorce process with the right attitude, “I think that generally speaking people should get really clear on what it is that they want first of all in their life and then funnel it down to what do I want out of this divorce situation? Get clear on what your intentions are.” (13:48) Highlights from the episode:  The broken system (02:35) What happens to the kids and how it affects their lives (04:00) Definition of “healthy divorce” (08:01) Modeling Healthy conflict (09:45) Opportunities for a new beginning (11:18) Collaborative divorce (11:51) Watch Wendy Hernandez' YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3v2tvsfJxXJSVs7GZedIeg (Command the Courtroom), with live streams every Monday at 6:30 p.m. You can also visit her at https://www.commandthecourtroom.com/ (CommandTheCourtroom.com). Is podcast marketing right for your business? How much does it cost, and is it hard to get started? Our guest, Shannon Hernandez (also knows as The Shan Man) is a 19 year radio veteran with 18 of his years spent with Arizona rock station, 98 KUPD.He's had the opportunity to interview some of the biggest names in the rock industry like Ivan Mood of Five Finger Death Punch, Phil Labonte of All That Remains… to Ben Anderson of Nothing More, David Ellefson of Megadeth and many more.Shannon's biggest passion is helping content creators build podcasts that make a sonic impact for listeners through sound design, branding/imaging and storytelling. He currently holds down his normal 7-midnight shift for 98 KUPD and produces podcasts like Carey Peña Reports and the Catalyst Conversations. You can also catch him on his YouTube channel and podcast, The Swing Shift Side Hustle.I became a devoted fan of Shannon and his remarkable work in the world 5 years ago when I had a live video show on Google Hangouts. He has helped many of us podcasters and broadcasters succeed in creating compelling content. With a warm, welcoming ability to share his deep knowledge and love of audio and visual content creation with folks … Shannon has built a huge following everywhere he glows. He has been instrumental in my own success as a podcast and video host – and I know you’ll love his view of the world as much as I do!Shannon shares the strategy and tactics needed to create and build a successful podcast, how a podcast can be your "pillar content" strategy, and how affordable this strategy is to build brand awareness. Here is a fave quote from our conversation:"A key fundamental strategy as a business owner is you have to take time to relax and you have to recharge because burning the candle at both ends doesn't give you results all of the time. In fact, it stifles you, so you have to learn that maybe taking that day off to go to the Spring Training game is good for you and your business. Here is a link to the book Shannon mentioned, Extreme Ownership:https://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Ownership-U-S-Navy-SEALs/dp/B015TM0RM4/Here is a SlideShare for Gary Vee's Pillar Content Strategy:https://www.slideshare.net/vaynerchuk/the-garyvee-content-model-107343659Here are the links to follow and connect with Shannon on Social Media:YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/shannonhernandezFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/theshanmanonlineInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/shannonjhernandezTwitter: http:/www.twitter.com/theshanmanWebsite: http://www.theshanman.comFree Downloads:Essential Podcast Equipment Guidehttp://www.theshanman.com/quickstart-guide-to-podcastingTop 3 Tips To Monetize a Podcasthttps://www.theshanman.com/6-clever-strategies-to-monetize-your-podcastPaid Product Links - use the discount code Startup28 at checkout (thanks Shannon!!):Podcast To-Do Checklisthttp://www.theshanman.com/podcast-to-do-checklist-c6 Clever Ways To Monetize Your Podcast http://www.theshanman.com/Monetizing-Your-Podcast-EBookBadass Podcasting (Edit Like A Pro)https://www.theshanman.com/store/LPDmMcbsWatch Shannon's sister, Wendy Hernandez on her YouTube Channel - Command the Courtroom:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3v2tvsfJxXJSVs7GZedIeg/featuredIf you need startup mentoring – please visit my website, http://andelyons.com where you’ll find all the ways I can add value to your startup journey: strategy calls, pitch deck and one page business snapshot coaching, WBENC application support for women business owners - I’d be honored to mentor you through whatever you’re going through – so please don’t hesitate to reach out.If you’d like to receive an alert whenever I post a new episode, please follow me on Spreaker Stitcher or Google Podcasts… and let’s connect on social media!Listeners - thank you so much for tuning in - I am genuinely grateful for your time and presence. Wendy Hernandez has been a successful family law attorney in Phoenix, AZ for over 20 years. She has a true passion for helping families through hard times and keeps everyone's best interest at heart. As Wendy began to witness more and more heartbreaking results in the courtroom, she was motivated to create an endless stream of online content to share her knowledge with those in need. Wendy started to frequently see people in the courtroom who had good cases but were getting horrible results. They were losing time with their kids and ultimately losing the fight. This was not always in the best interest of the family so she felt compelled to do something to help these people.  Her online program called Command the Courtroom teaches people how to build their own custody case. This provides those who may not be able to afford an attorney with the knowledge they need to have a fair fight in the courtroom, at a much lower cost.  About a year ago, Wendy began to put one video a week onto YouTube answering the most common questions that she is asked. In that short period of time, Wendy has surpassed over 250,000 views on her videos and has helped countless people have a fair chance in the courtroom. Skyler and Wendy dive into her methods and how it has helped her business thrive.
