Yosimar nació en Guerrero México, pero se crió en los Estados Unidos. Yosimar es actor, productor, escritor y director de teatro y para acabarla todo le sale bien! En este episodio Yosi comparte abiertamente sobre su experiencia de crecer en un área de bajos recursos y cómo esa experiencia nutre su arte y le ayuda a ofrecernos una visión profunda y con la que muchos nos podemos identificar. Hablamos sobre cómo su poesía explora la vida de un inmigrante y las realidades de crecer en un entorno con recursos limitados. Morning Keynote, Adrienne Keene, is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. She holds a doctorate in Culture, Communities and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her research focuses on college access for native students and the role of pre-college access programs and student success. Her dissertation is titled: "College Pride, Native Pride, and Education for Nation Building: Portraits of Native Students Navigating Freshman Year." She is also a blogger, author and activist. Afternoon Keynote, Yosimar Reyes, is a nationally acclaimed poet, educator, performance artist and speaker. He was born in Guerrero, Mexico and raised in East San Jose, California. Reyes explores migration and sexuality in his work. The Advocate named Reyes one of the “13 LGBT Latinos Changing the World” and Remezcla named him one of the "10 Up and Coming Latinx Poets You Need to Know". In his YWCA keynote speech, he shares a video he wrote and narrated as well as a performance.

Kat Evasco is a writer, stand up comedian, performance artist, and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was born in the Philippines and immigrated to Los Angeles where she was raised. Evasco is best known for her nationally touring autobiographical one-woman show, Mommy Queerest, co-written and directed by John Caldon. Evasco currently serves as the Chief Dream Director at The Future Project and as the Artistic Director of Guerrilla Rep. Evasco is a recipient of the Creative Capacity Fund Quick Grant, NextGen Art Professional Development Grant, and the Zellerbach Family Foundation Grant. Author, activist, educator, poet and performing artist Yosimar Reyes was born in Guerrero, Mexico and was brought to the US when he was three years old. He was raised by his grandparents in East Side San Jose, a place that fuels his storytelling with unique and comical narratives that cut to the core of his immigrant and queer experience. He is currently an Arts Fellow at Define American, an organization founded by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas and is also developing a one-man show a'la Jon Leguizamo.
