After graduating from seminary, Russ was unsure of God’s leading. He and his wife had been discussing the idea of beginning a new ministry geared toward men. Russ opened his Bible up to 2 Samuel 7, where he had left off the prior day. Verse 3 leapt off the page. It read, “Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it for the Lord is with you.” At that moment, Finding Purpose was born. Russ says that “looking back, I can say that Finding Purpose was God-breathed by His Word.” Since that moment in 2003, Finding Purpose has been all about helping men find their purpose in life. Augustine said it well: “O God, You made us for Yourself, and man’s heart is restless until it rests in Thee!”
