In this episode we talk to the amazing Errol La Grange, a recent convert to the beauty and lifestyle afforded by the North West Coast of Tasmania.  Errol is a remarkable business man who is the co-founder and executive chairman of online learning education company Cahoot, which facilitates learning in 127 countries globally. Errol is a qualified mediator and high level tax lawyer who has worked in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Errol has a strong moral compass and sense of community, and is working on programs and initiatives to influence and impact the people of the North West Coast of Tasmania and beyond. A fascinating conversation which Giovanna and Grant really enjoyed, infact so much we will have a follow up episode soon, as we have munch to uncover and learn about Errol. Enjoy 

Art is part of the cultural fabric of any community. In this episode we discuss art, its importance to community, and the commencement of a new Gallery, called Intersection, driven largely by Scott Campbell. Scott moved to Tasmania after 15 years living and working in Tokyo, Japan. Its great to be back and Scott was an awesome guest for our first week back

2 weeks ago Giovanna and Grant caught up again with Ricardo Lionearth, funny and very talented, and always the most enjoyable discussions. Grot pop ups for a quick phone chat, and we sample one of the new songs from the upcoming album to be released by Ricardo, and it's bloody good!!!!! Yep we recorded a couple weeks ago, and some technical dramas has caused our delay.....but better later than never

Giovanna and Grant talk to two ladies on a mission, Kendell and Kylie, working mothers, best friends, and now business partners. We followed their journey on social media, from when they purchased their first investment property together and commenced renovating themselves (no prior experience needed). Two inspirational ladies getting it done!!

This week Grant is in a 14 day home quarantine and Giovanna was home on the couch, but that wasn't going to prevent us from this weeks interview with Jesse Teinaki. A remarkably talented singer and song writer, from humble beginnings in Burnie Tasmania, to supporting Bon Jovi on tour, and featuring on the Voice, the driver of the Make Life Better movement and an all round nice and humble guy, we really enjoyed our chat with Jesse. Troy and Joe, whom are the South Road Boys are approaching an incredible milestone of 200 episodes, this episode with us was not so serious, and........at times a little nerve-racking for Giovanna and Grant, as both Joe and Troy unique sense of humor shone though, and gave us plenty of laughs, we had a hell of a lot of fun, and we hope we can do this again with South Road Boys.  PS: Big shout out to the Roadies, whomever you may be :-)

This week Giovanna and Grant speak with Mitch McPherson, founder of Mental Health advocacy Speak Up Stay Chatty. Founded by Mitch after the death of his brother, Speak Up Stay Chatty and its team members are playing an extremely important role with schools, businesses, sporting clubs and other organizations on addressing mental health and wellness. A great interview from a truly inspirational young man.

This week we catch up with Clint Proctor, developer of the app Check Me. Clint is a Community Development Officer at the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, and development coach for the Box Hill Hawks in the Victorian Football League whom are the reserves team for Australian Football League Team Hawthorn. Clint has developed an App called Check Me. Ready for launch, the Check Me App provides an amazing and non invasive method to assist with mental health well being for both sport people and employees, from ground roots level to professional level athletes. We enjoyed catch up with Clint and hearing all about his development, and had a great chat on life in general. We know you will enjoy this episode

Samuel Johnson is an Australian Actor, radio presenter, voiceover artist, author and philanthropist and one hell of a great human being. Sam is known for his portrayal of Molly Meldrum in the miniseries Molly, starring in television shows The Secret Life of Us and Rush. Sam is also the founder the Love your Sister Charity, in honor of his sister Connie, raising funds to cure breast cancer, and fulfilling his mission of reminding Australian Women to be “Breast Aware”. He has even ridden a Uni-cycle 15,955km around Australia in a world record journey raising $1,477,630. He has been awarded an Order of Australia medal for service to cancer research support organisations, and to the performing arts. And………he won Dancing with the Stars in 2019. This interview was just simply amazing, to hear from Samuel and hear his story, his passions, driving forces and what he has achieved living a life in the service of others.  We were honoured to have Sam as a guest on our show

This week Giovanna and Grant met with Aaron Meldrum from Man Up, a men's mental health support network which recently launched.  From an idea stemming from reflection on his own mental well being, enhanced by the experiences of a friend, Aaron brought together a group of like minded people which led to the foundation and launch of Man Up.  Aaron is an inspirational and driven young man determined to have an impact and raise awareness for men's mental health.

Mark was a Co-Founder, and former CEO of Whitelion, now the CEO for Big Brothers Big Sisters, an amazing youth mentoring organization with programs in Melbourne, Ballarat, Wangaratta, Sydney and Canberra. Hear from Mark about the importance of Youth Mentoring, why it is good not just for the young person being mentored, but also for the community in general. Mark is a great human being who continues to pay it forward helping young people in need.  

This week Giovanna and Grant speak with Nathan and Kent from Safe Space, a place for those who are without a home, to stay, to be safe, and to become housing ready. This organisation has felt the brunt of negative community feedback in its short existence, much of which is ill-informed or coincidental.  Nathan and Kent share some detail on how Safe Space came about, and dispel some community concern. This episode is enlightening and opinion changing, and hearing from Kent and his transformational story, was unexpected, and quite emotionally confronting. We are also joined by Nic Minton, a great friend and listener of Get The Know Howe, who dropped in for a visit.

Tia has a great story and it is one you must here. A Chinese girl growing up to working parents, whom she became separated from at a young age to being fostered by her real "mum and dad" to becoming a very successful professional and mother in her own right. Tia is a bundle of fun and laughs, and a real inspiration to all. This episode was fun and filled with humor about an incredible young professional woman and her journey, and we should mention better half of our first guest on episode one, Dr Issac Poole. This week Giovanna and Grant talk to Kyle Perry, Author of the best selling book, The Bluffs. Kyle Perry is a councilor who has worked extensively in high schools, youth shelters and drug rehabs. Taking inspiration from his trade, and his time growing up at the foothills of the Great Western Tiers in North West Tasmania, Kyle released The Bluffs, published in many countries and has a four book deal with Penguin Books. His debut novel was such a success, and his next novel The Deep will be released sometime mid 2021. Kyle is an amazing young man who shares his journey from writing his first transcript in year 9 of High School to becoming the successful best selling author he now his.
