Episode 2 of the Seven Faces of the Soul. This episode of the podcast is, from excerpts from a weekend seminar that I did on the Soul's Path. What is the Soul? The Soul is a being - living and vibrant - and it is so much more. It has several specific Faces - seven of them to be very precise. And your Soul is with you from the moment of death to the moment of birth, and all the time in between. And each of these faces comes to you and gives its many gifts to you. Not necessarily by vocally expressing itself but by communicating in their way - through the cracks and crevices of our life, in the silences, in the stillness, in the cherished moments, and in the enchanted times of your life, our Soul communicates all the information we need to know. Sadly, because the Soul is denied in our world and is given such few avenues of communication - because its particular tools have been turned into shams of silliness or of embarrassment - the communication to so many is very difficult. Because of the inbred chauvinism, because of the impact of an arid spirituality, that exists for many only within the confines of religion, it’s messages are missed. They are lost. And people flounder. We flounder in delusion, we flounder in a negative ego that ultimately turns against them... We flounder imprisoned in our own shame, in our own pain, in our own sorrow continuing to punish ourselves, never finding our power and never using it - never finding our talent, never using it. And It certainly does not have to be this way. It was never meant to be this painful. If we can hear the messages of our Soul, so many answers can come. So many new directions can be found and so much pain can be relieved and healed. It is not a panacea, yet there is so much magic if we can learn to listen to our Soul ... if we can know its Faces. In the last episode, I talked about the first three faces of the Soul -the Name, the Power, and the Eternal Youth, which correspond for the early part of our life. In the frenzy of global activity, in the chaos of the current increasing violence, and with the escalating threats of tragedy and terror, it is increasingly difficult to know where to turn or how to respond. You are a magician, a masterful one at that, you are a future maker - but with all that's happening and with the speed with which these crises are unfolding, it is easy to lose sight of who you are, of why you are, and of how to be who and why you are. I have spoken of the prevailing energies of this phase - of this current, turbulent and threatening times - and those energies are present and they do and will prevail. This episode is about meditation, this episode is about pain and this episode is about compassion. I am going to tie these three areas together. I’ve given 100’s of classes and courses in meditation - and one of the things I've noticed - which I'm sure you've noticed too, is that many people have a view about meditation. People often think it's like shutting yourself down and a lot of people struggle, unnecessarily, when they meditate because they try to clear their mind. And that phrase clear your mind is sort of thrown around, a lot - clear your mind, clear your mind, clear your mind - and of course, you're sitting there trying to clear the mind and the mind is screaming! And so people are struggling to clear their mind, to switch off their thoughts. I think people are struggling because the whole concept is not helpful - trying to sort of go into a blank state, is more like trying to become unconscious - it's like being in a coma. I think meditation has nothing to do with clearing the mind - it has nothing to do with switching off! It's about exactly opposite, it’s switching on, it's about waking up. And so our thoughts, and the emotions and particularly, our pain are very powerful catalysts in the practice, if you can learn how to work with them, in a creative way. When we talk about meditation and about consciousness, especially talk about expanding our consciousness - which is obviously the theme here - what we're talking about is realizing that our mind is bigger than our thoughts. Some of the metaphors used in the ancient texts on meditation, are metaphors, such as the sky or the ocean. So imagine you're flying in an aeroplane and the plane is coming down to land - of course, we know that the plane is going to come down, through the clouds and land. What if you didn't know that, maybe if you're a small child - you might think that the plane is going to crash into the clouds because they look very solid. So in the metaphor the sky is our mind - the clouds are our thoughts and emotions. And this is what happens to us...

I knew to surrender myself to a higher power. Let's start with the first question - what exactly is manifesting? And what would I say to people that believe that this is bunk? The act of manifesting is the awareness – it’s the conscious awareness, that we get to create our reality based on our thoughts and our feelings. So there are so many instances that naturally happen either in science or nature, where we can see that every action has a reaction and this is essentially manifesting because we live in this beautiful vast universe, where every thing is based on intention and feedback. So you set an intention and it comes back to you. You think of a thought, it then is executed in a specific way and this essentially is the core essence of manifestation. It’s not as simple as that, is it? You don’t just think a thought and that which you want comes to you. Well, the beauty of manifestation is that it is simple and effortless - and that most people, especially in the personal development industry - over complicate it. They believe that it is something that it’s not! I like to call junk food spirituality, where you see people say “let me manifest a million dollars”, I’ll think about it or I’ll create a vision board. I’m not saying those things don’t happen. What's Your Destiny & How to Work with It There's almost nothing more mysterious: Destiny, even sounds as if it is imposed from without, having nothing to do with our conscious choice. In fact, there is destiny that is given and destiny which is chosen. Destiny is a complex of Fate, Fortune, Forces and the Inevitable, with a magical Empowered Destiny emerging when we consciously work with the Forces of Destiny. And in the midst of life in which destiny already operates, we can place programs in our destiny, knowing that anything placed within its umbrage and radiance will come to pass. Destiny is a really powerful concept, and I used to think that it was in contradiction to the ideas of conscious reality creation. I was thinking of it in the old consensus ways and in the ways of religions from earlier in the twentieth century and in the century before... The paradox: If something is destined to be, then how can you say you consciously create your own reality? If something is destined, how can you say time and space are illusions of your creation? I pondered this paradox for years, and it was a source of a great deal of highly productive energy. In a joking way, I say that I am sort of sad to see that paradox leave (be resolved), as I will miss it. Now, there are several kinds of destiny: the given destiny and the chosen destiny...

It's only when the control is gone that you start feeling what love can really be, what power it really has. And when you do, you no longer have to settle just for the words, just for the poetry that for so long you've had to settle for. You actually experience that love far more deeply, far more richly than you ever have. Love really is all there is. It really is everything people say it is, and oh, it is so much more. Of course you do love. But even so, the price of control is giving up love, banishing it, renouncing it to whatever degree.

You are haunted by this desire to know. Deep within our brain stirs the thought that if we just knew the answer to one of these questions, then everything else would make sense. our heart echoes with feelings that a satisfactory answer would make everything - absolutely everything - all right. Our purpose, our mission, our task - or, as I prefer to say, our focus - can be stated with disarming ease. The prime reason you are here. To learn to have fun. Yes. That's it.

This is a very personal episode, I take you on my inner journey to heal the pain of my daddy issues. There were very powerful questions that arose on my inward quest for forgiveness. I will not only ask these profound questions but also attempt to answer the insights that I discovered on my journey to self healing. I knew deep in my heart what I struggled with all those years: why my father didn’t fight to have me in his life. Forgiveness is such a powerful tool. And it is only recently that I have come to realize that it is far more powerful than I thought. We often think of forgiveness as the proper thing to do and we have all heard the clichés about the importance and beauty of it. It's the Christian thing to do or the spiritual thing to do. And it is. I mean, those thoughts are correct. But it is soo much more than that, too. It is truly a powerful technique that can profoundly and instantly change our reality. That is why the title of this episode is The Dynamism of Forgiveness. Dynamism describes a process whereby the nature of reality - of our illusion - is a function of force and energy rather than of movement and mass. The velocity and mass are quantitative measurements but are the true building blocks are energy and force. It takes very little energy and force to generate a change in mass. So it is the force and energy of forgiveness that I explore in this episode.

Creative visualization is the technique of using your imagination to create what you want in your life. There is nothing at all new, strange, or unusual about creative visualization. You are already using it every day, every minute, in fact. It is your natural power of imagination, the basic creative energy of the universe, which you use constantly, whether or not you are aware of it. Most people in our culture have become cut off from their awareness of their spiritual essence. We have temporarily lost our conscious connection with our souls and, thus, have lost our own sense of power and responsibility for our lives. In some inner way, we have a sense of helplessness; we feel basically powerless to make real change in our lives or in the world. This inner feeling of powerlessness causes us to overcompensate by striving and struggling very hard to have some degree of power or control in our world. Sometimes people who have studied Eastern philosophy or are on a certain spiritual path feel a hesitation about using creative visualization when they first hear of it. Their conflict comes from the apparent paradox they see between the idea of “being here now,” letting go of attachments and desires, and the idea of setting goals and creating what you want in life. I say apparent paradox because, in actuality, there is no contradiction between the two teachings when they are understood on a deeper level. They are both important principles that must be understood and lived in order for you to become a conscious person. In order to explain how they fit together, allow me to share with you my viewpoint about the process of inner growth.

This episode is dedicated to crux of healing science: practices to strengthen the DIGESTION agni and how to get restful sleep. The healing tradition of Ayurveda teaches that health and well-being depends upon our ability to digest everything we take in from the environment. How to Get Restful Sleep Restful sleep is the foundation for your mental and physical well-being. After a day of stimulating activity, your body needs deep sleep when your mind and body can rest and reset. When you’re well rested, you’re more alert, able to process new information more efficiently, and you make better decisions. On the other hand, when you’re sleep deprived, you’re more likely to make mistakes and it takes longer to complete tasks.

Before I dive into weeks topic, I want to take a moment here and be really vulnerable and share that I am not one of those people, as I’ve shared in a previous episode that I’ve struggled with my weight on and off in my 20’s & 30’s and I’ve also dealt with depression and anxiety throughout my life and I when I was approaching 40, I knew that I needed to not only finally look at my unhealthy relationship with food BUT also the underlying issues in my life that lead me down the rabbit hole of depression and anxiety. So I become my own patient and begin not only a regime of clean eating but also cleaning out my emotional closet, and finally began a healthy love affair with my self, and my sense of worthiness. The suggestions I offer in episode are by no means the be-all, end-all for dealing with anxiety and depression. If your symptoms are not manageable with these spiritual tips and techniques, I suggest you work closely with your medical professional or your therapist to create a protocol that works specifically for you. Everything I say about the topic of anxiety and depression is rooted in a wellness, wholeness, from a spiritual perspective. When it comes to depression and anxiety, so often we get caught in this trap: “Anxiety & depression is something terrible that I have to fix.
