1 Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. 2 The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life. 3 It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling. 4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing. 5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out. 6 Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man? 7 A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him. 8 A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes. 9 Who can say, "I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?" 10 Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to Yahweh. 11 Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right. 12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Yahweh has made even both of them. 13 Don't love sleep, lest you come to poverty. Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread. 14 "It's no good, it's no good," says the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasts. 15 There is gold and abundance of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel. 16 Take the garment of one who puts up collateral for a stranger; and hold him in pledge for a wayward woman. 17 Fraudulent food is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth is filled with gravel. 18 Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war! 19 He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets; therefore don't keep company with him who opens wide his lips. 20 Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness. 21 An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning won't be blessed in the end. 22 Don't say, "I will pay back evil." Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you. 23 Yahweh detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing. 24 A man's steps are from Yahweh; how then can man understand his way? 25 It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows. 26 A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them. 27 The spirit of man is Yahweh's lamp, searching all his innermost parts. 28 Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love. 29 The glory of young men is their strength. The splendor of old men is their gray hair. 30 Wounding blows cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the innermost parts. In this especially vulnerable episode, Fr. Michael Trummer, Fr. Christopher Trummer, and Mary Bielski delve into the complex issue of woundedness within the Church. They explore how many people struggle with their faith because of inconsistency and hypocrisy on the part of Christians, whether fellow believers in the pew or priests and other leaders. Acknowledging the hurt and the legitimate anger and indignation, they discuss the need for forgiveness, accountability, and effective communication in healing these wounds. The conversation aims to provide hope and practical steps for those who have been hurt within the Church, so that all of us can cling to Christ through intercession, compassion, and by staying engaged in the community. Send us a textWelcome back!In today's episode, we explore a timeless moral tension: What do we do when our freedom conflicts with someone else's conscience? From meat offered to idols in Corinth to alcohol in our modern lives, the principle remains the same—love must guide freedom.Growing up, many of us were handed an unwritten moral code. But what happens when that code isn't black-and-white in Scripture? How do we navigate the grey?Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 8 teach us that knowledge—while important—can puff us up. But love? Love builds up. When others are watching, when their faith is at stake, Paul says: “If my freedom causes them to stumble, I'll lay it down.”This is not legalism. It's not a weakness. It's Christlike love in action.Whether you're navigating questions about cultural practices, personal liberty, or sensitive matters within your community, this chapter invites you to ask not just, “Is this allowed?” but “Is this loving?”Episode Highlights:

Send us your questions for Fishbowl 6!Here Dr. H sits down with Lisa, a pediatric nurse practitioner, to witness her story of developmental trauma, concomitant chronic depression, and eventually her path of healing and rebuilding trust and connection, largely through psychotherapy. During her years of intermittently crippling and suicidal depression, she was put on various psych meds, which might have helped at the time, but later became shockingly difficult to try to taper and stop. This is a story of overcoming shame, a story that looks at the question of whether people need meds for life….and it turns out, surprise surprise, that what's causing or driving depression actually really matters….and when that's a Mom wound, most psych meds are really just acting as flimsy bandages."I Love You, I Hate You, Are You My Mom?" We may feel that we're following our heart, when in reality, we're following our trauma. In this episode, we explore the seductive pull of the trauma bond — how it masquerades as chemistry, intensity, and “meant to be,” but is often rooted in pain from the past. Learn how to tell the difference between true love and addictive attraction, and how to break free from the cycles that keep you chasing wounding instead of receiving love.
Episode 509 - Stacey Sanderson - Heart Wide Open, A Holistic Guide to Self Recovery from Narcissistic Wounding - No Not Enought Button, No Wake SignStacey Sanderson and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and Holistic Life Coach. It's my mission to help people heal and release relationship patterns and step into their power. As part of my own healing and recovery process I dove into understanding personality pathology and focused on this and the biopsychosocial roots of this issue. For the last twenty years I have sought to better understand narcissism from the point of view of trauma, attachment and energy. With many years experience as a therapist, I wanted to create a more heart-centered and holistic approach in my work with clients, integrating trauma and somatic modalities with meditation, mindfulness, expressive arts.My work is collaborative and intuitively guided. A lot of the time, this work is about empowering empaths! I believe that there is healing in connection and community. My own personal healing from narcissistic family and work systems came full circle when I stepped into my power and full potential - and I know you can do the same!I live in rural Ontario, Canada where I enjoy being in nature either running, skiing, kayaking or gardening! I have been married for 27 years and have two adult children, our beautiful rescue dog Zoe and two cats. I have a small private psychotherapy practice, and my passion is in leading the Inquire Within relationship recovery community.Book: Heart Wide OpenA Holistic Guide to Self Recovery from Narcissistic Woundingby Stacey SandersonAs a practising psychotherapist, Stacey Sanderson takes a holistic and trauma-based approach to healing in her work with clients who are—or have been—involved in narcissistic relationships. In Heart Wide Open: A Holistic Guide to Narcissistic Recovery, she delves into the roots and consequences of such relationships through a comprehensive examination of a number of factors, including attachment theory, family dynamics, and early childhood trauma. At times, Stacey draws upon her own personal experience of recovery to bring her point poignantly home. The book includes a series of self-directed exercises, or “Journal Prompts,” to help readers develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics of toxic relationships in their own lives. With Stacey's guidance, this self-delving leads readers toward self-compassion and healing through what she refers to as “Compassionate Detachment.”Heart Wide Open: A Holistic Guide to Narcissistic Recovery, written in down-to-earth accessible language, is a must-read for those who want to learn more about narcissism and narcissists, their own personal relationship patterns, and how they can create powerful interpersonal boundaries to facilitate healing. The emphasis is on recovering the vital aspects of the self that had to be hidden in order to survive the relationship. Now, it's time to break free of unhealthy cycles to make room for the love you deserve.https://www.staceysanderson.ca/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

Welcome to a very special episode!Today we have not one but two special guests on the show. Alla is here to share her powerful recent healing experience doing a medicine journey with Ben and myself. My hubby Ben his here as well to share from his perspective. We dive deep into a healing conversation around using 3 MMC to heal trauma, healing the masculine wound and so much more!Who is Alla?Alla is a big believer that we can heal ourselves from old hurts and trauma and the work is truly in and through the body. She has been on a trauma and self recovery healing journey for over 12 years now, learning to unwind the belief that it's not safe to be herself. It wasn't until she was rear ended in 2022 with a diagnosis of post concussive syndrome that her journey sent her even deeper into her body. With the help of her somatic therapist, Alla was able to map out her nervous system's responses of fawn/freeze/flee and discovered the good girl's aversion to anger, a much needed emotion that would be an ally in helping her get into contact with healthy "fight" protector mode and help her body recalibrate to a more balanced state. With the help of Dani and Ben and their medicine work together, Alla discovered how much wounding she had held towards men and how Ben's healed masculine presence helped her access her anger in a safe container, explore her power as a woman, and be supported through some deep relational attachment wounds. Now that she is on the other side of the journey, she is here to advocate for the importance of finding safe facilitators to heal with, the importance of somatic approaches to healing and how avoiding exploring the father wound and suppressed anger is holding women back from stepping into their own power. We are the medicine, and through the portal of feeling our feelings, and being witnessed and held in safe containers, we have the power to restore ourselves back to our authentic, joyful and innocent nature to become the co-creators of our lives.Who is Ben?Ben is a somatic therapist, breathwork facilitator and internal family systems practitioner who is on a mission to support people in their deep healing journeys. He is also my loving partner and amazing father!******************➠ Discover the unique ROOT CAUSE that is keeping you stuck on the sugar rollercoaster every year. Wisdom is sacred. And the beautiful thing about it, is that it's all your own and once its comes to be, it can never be taken away. I received a Divine message during meditation recently that said, Rely on you wisdom. That relief you're feeling is wisdom. Yes healing has happened yet healing is just the absence of pain. Wisdom is the higher experience that came from it. This was like a huge relief to hear because it felt like strong guidance that I can rest assured that wisdom has been obtained and I can trust it, rely on it, and release doubt. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all do more of that?On this Divine Feminine solo episode I jump around a bit yet the central message is an invitation to rely on your wisdom. It's yours and you earned it. When we come to realize that our own wisdom comes from our wounding which has healed we can acknowledge that the relief we feel in our lives ( less stress and worry over what others thing, less hurt & offense we take to rejection or disappointment, etc) is an indication that we have developed significant Divine Feminine wisdom.
