Never say these 7 words in negotiations. You want to make sure are coming from a place of strength and knowing that closing the deal is the most important thing. Screwing over the other side is not the objective and can hurt you in later deals in your career. 1) BUT is one of the words most often use the word, and that can hurt the way you communicate with people. 2) CAN'T is only a mask for something you don't want to do and isn't being honest with yourself or the person you're speaking with. 3) HOPE is conceding your strength or ability to the whims of the world. 4) NO and NOT is most often a way to back away from something that can be done when a yes can drive a higher level of customer service. 5) Negative actions or talk to create confrontation. 6) SHOULD, you are giving up control and not being confident in yourself or your abilities. 7) TRY, there is no try. You are either doing it, or you're not, the choice is up to you. So say what you mean and mean what you say. Improve your education and strengths through books. 10 ways to avoid failure. Failure isn't a mystery to anyone, least of all not to those in production. Working full time or part-time, it's all about how you show up every day in your business. Having the savings or financial support to make the switch into the business so you have the runway to start and learn your business. Training is one of the vital lifelines to anyone in any profession, learn from those who came before you so you don't have the same struggles they have had. You shouldn't be trying to invent a new way to do business, in your first couple of years in the business. You must also learn how to lead generate for business. If your only way to get business is to pay a company that's trying to put you out of business, then you don't really have a business. The more independent you are when it comes to building your business pipeline, the longer you will stay in the business. What a market 2020 is becoming and why you should like it. While 2020 has not turned out how the vast majority of us had expected it to, it's still a market that a lot of us are making into a career shifting year. If you haven't started, now is the best time to get online and build the community and brand we have been preaching about for the past 140 plus episodes. Tell your potential clients how great interest rates are, how great the home prices are, and how locking in longterm debt at great rates is a great deal! Now is when you should be coming from service and making the great connections to other business owners and those impacting your community. If you haven't connected with every business owner and community leader, then you haven't created any of the content you should about your community. Become that digital mayor and be for ALL of the people. If you need a great lender in Texas, California, and Arkansas, text MagicMike to 88000. If you're interested in starting your own podcast or want to talk about your business you can reach us at info@realestateontherocks.com
Get it in writing! While you might want to trust the agent on the other side of the deal, you must protect everyone by getting everything in writing. It happens to everyone, not just new agents who want to believe the agent on the other side of the deal will act with integrity, but sadly that's not always the cast. Countless Realtors around the country have had to pay for their mistakes out of their commission. You need to also document the process, send follow up emails to confirm what was said and agreed on, and for notes about the clients. By getting everything in writing, you'll have a place to reference information and know you're on the right track both during a transaction and long past the closing date. Reach out to the team at info@realestateontherocks.com to talk about your business and if you're interested in starting your own podcast.
Setting the state with your clients. While it seems like an easy concept that everyone would do, it's one of the most often missed concepts or steps of the process with most agents. By failing to set the stage and flow of the process, you're allowing for the normal issues or steps to become an unknown step that can cause a lot of fear and anxiety that could easily be averted. One of the best ways to keep a list of things that have gone wrong or ways to improve your process. Then as you speak with clients, you'll know what parts to mention to them and how you'll mitigate things or negotiate through them. As you grow and show more confidence in the process and your abilities, you'll have a lot fewer issues in the process that you haven't already warned your clients about or that you aren't prepared for. The art of qualifying leads. It's not a magical superpower, it's all about understanding your client, analyzing their wants and needs, and then leading them down the path of success as a professional. You have to practice the words, internalize the substance of the conversations so it will flow from you as you're speaking with them. Ask great questions and know it's about them and how you can be of service to them. You know more about the process and system, so show your value and ask for help when needed. Why you should STOP making goals. Those 1, 3, 5 year goals are killing your business. You're trying to win the sprint and the marathon, in the same race. You need to focus on your 90 day goals and be very specific on what those goals are and how you'll accomplish them. As you get more consistent on the 90 days, you'll be better able to forecast those goals and create a more even cycle throughout the year. Implement strategies that keep you in the front of everyone's mind and eyes throughout each week. As you do that, you'll leverage client attraction to complement your lead generation. It's all about the systems you build for the cycles you're creating. Stay strong with the work, the goals, and most importantly, with consistent and scheduled tasks so you'll succeed in your business. Contact us at info@realestateontherocks.com
