From Marketing Chaos to Clarity: A Purpose-Driven Framework for Growth EP 140

In this episode of HAYVN Hubcast, Nancy Sheed welcomes back author, publisher, and marketing strategist Jenn T. Grace for a conversation about marketing with intention, clarity, and purpose. Jenn shares the inspiration behind her new book, Promote Your Purpose, and breaks down her Aspen Method, a practical framework designed to help authors, entrepreneurs, and professionals market their work without getting lost in overwhelm. Drawing from more than two decades in marketing and over ten years working closely with authors, Jenn explains why so many people struggle with marketing and how skipping foundational steps often leads to confusion, wasted time, and burnout. She emphasizes that effective marketing isn't about chasing every tactic or becoming an influencer. Instead, it's about understanding your purpose, your audience, and the strategy that actually aligns with your strengths and goals. Key Points Jenn created the Aspen Method after realizing that many authors and business owners were overwhelmed by disconnected marketing tactics and needed a clearer framework for decision-making. The Aspen Method stands for Assess, Strategize, Plan, Execute, and Nurture, creating a step-by-step approach to building sustainable marketing efforts. One of the biggest mistakes people make is jumping directly into tactics like social media, ads, or influencer marketing without first understanding their audience, goals, and larger strategy. Jenn encourages people to “bring others along for the journey” while building a book, business, or product, helping create community and momentum long before launch day. The conversation highlights how relationship-building and nurturing an audience are often the most overlooked but most valuable parts of marketing success. Nancy and Jenn close the conversation by reinforcing that marketing doesn't have to feel manipulative, overwhelming, or performative. By focusing on alignment, strategy, and genuine connection, the Aspen Method helps people market in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.  Connect with Nancy LinkedIn  Instagram Website Connect with Jenn LinkedIn LinkedIn Company YouTube Substack Learn more about your ad choices. The culture is obsessed with speed, scale, lean teams, massive output, and automation, but faster output does not automatically mean better direction. In part two of this connected conversation, the focus shifts to the missing human layer underneath AI-powered growth and the belief that more content, more automation, and more velocity always lead to better outcomes. Using S³ Growth Streams™ as the operating lens, you will learn how to strategize before accelerating, synergize before scaling, and systemize before sprinting forever. More importantly, you will see how to separate signal from noise, align tools with real human capacity, and build repeatable rhythms that support growth without requiring constant sacrifice. This episode is not anti-AI, anti-hustle, or anti-ambition. It is anti-default sacrifice, anti-permanent sprint, and anti-output without awareness. It also challenges the obsession with flow state by introducing five operating states that support sustainable growth: capture, clarity, commitment, flow, and reflection. Because flow is not the whole game. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is capture the signal, get clarity, commit to the right action, recover, reflect, and return to baseline before sprinting again. The goal is not to become more machine-like. The goal is to become more intentionally human while using machines wisely. There are moments in life when you recognize that it is time to move forward, even when everything around you seems to be working. It could be growth, impact on people, and lives changed, with awareness that the current chapter has reached its end, just like the Diamond Life Mentor. This podcast has become a space to share ideas, experiences, and lessons in a way that fits into everyday life. People have been able to listen while going about their routines. The intention has always been to provide something meaningful that encourages growth and expands perspective. Through consistent conversations and honest insights, this platform has delivered exactly that.In this episode of Diamond Life Mentor Uncut, Balazs W Kardos shares what it takes to tell a success story that led you to where you are.You will hear key insights on:Closing of the Diamond Life MentorRebranding your businessStarting the Global Prosperity Movement ShowChanges during the Diamond Life Mentor transitioning to the Global Prosperity Movement ShowGuests inside the GPM ShowFour years before the podcast began, Balazs noticed a demand for content that gives deeper guidance around network marketing and a freedom lifestyle. It led to the creation of mentorship programs and the podcast, and to members developing new skills, building confidence, and achieving results in different areas of their lives. As time went on, a shift began to take place, especially since last year, when Balazs had to get Diamond Life Mentor Uncut episodes from his mentorship program to keep the podcast going due to evolving priorities. Now he wants to get back to sharing real stories from real people. The intention is to highlight individuals from different backgrounds who have created meaningful results through their own journeys. These stories from members who have achieved 6A2 and above will show the process behind their success, the challenges they faced, and their overall journey in the GPM community. This transition represents an expansion of the original mission. The purpose remains focused on encouraging action and creating meaningful change. The way that mission is delivered is evolving into something larger and more connected. How can you do that? Focus your time and energy on your business. Strategize your ads and their targeting. Build a structure as you provide solutions to their problems, and train your team members to duplicate you. And when you understand how to communicate this clearly, whether to your team, your audience, or potential partners, you start attracting people who want to be part of that system."This isn't an ending because something didn't work. It's an ending because it did work. It served its purpose, and now there's a whole new level, a whole new vision that has unfolded that is tying things back to the original, larger vision that I had 13 years ago." - Balazs W Kardos

Does this look familiar? You want to grow a business by squeezing more out of your own schedule. You wake up earlier, sleep later, stack meetings, chase tasks, and push harder every week. That is great, being accountable and putting in your hard work, but your personal capacity has a ceiling. No matter how disciplined or motivated you are, there are only so many hours you can give before your energy drops, your health suffers, and your performance declines.Instead of asking, “How can I do more?” the better question is, “How can I get more done without my team depending on me?” Because once you begin working through people instead of just by yourself, everything changes. In this episode of Diamond Life Mentor Uncut, Balazs W Kardos shares why you are thinking too small about time and money, and that hinders your growth. You will hear key insights on:Making your ad spend a multiplierInvesting time and money in the businessLeveraging building a team for business growthTransforming paid ads into passive incomeMaking earning money ethicalAccording to Balazs, when you have a small group supporting a shared goal, each person contributes a manageable amount of effort every week. On its own, that might not seem like much. But when you combine those contributions, you are no longer operating on your own limited time. As that group grows, so does the total effort going into the business. How can you do that? Focus your time and energy on your business. Strategize your ads and their targeting. Build a structure as you provide solutions to their problems, and train your team members to duplicate you. And when you understand how to communicate this clearly, whether to your team, your audience, or potential partners, you start attracting people who want to be part of that system."So then all of a sudden, we're at 20 people, 30 people, 40 people, 50 people, 100 people, each doing 10 hours, just to keep the math really simple, and eventually you start having 500 hours a week of input into your business, leverage, not through your own time." - Balazs W Kardos

Today's guest proves that a creative career doesn't have to rely on algorithms, going viral, or luck. If you've ever wondered how to strategize your creativity like a real profession—and build a living from your work—this conversation is for you.Kern Carter is a former indie and current traditionally published author writing books for Penguin and Scholastic. He writes essays at the intersection of publishing and pop culture, offering candid insight into what it actually takes to make a living as an author and creative entrepreneur.www.kerncarter.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/kerncarter/In the past year alone, Kern has sold approximately 15,000 books—without being popular on any social media platform—by intentionally building and leveraging community. His journey includes dropping out of high school at 18 when he became a father, earning a full athletic scholarship, self-publishing his first books, securing an agent, and signing multiple traditional publishing deals beginning in 2021.Beyond books, Kern runs a thriving creative business spanning film production (with a film on Amazon Prime Video), ghostwriting, and platforms that support emerging writers. His story is one of perseverance, planning, and playing the long game.1) Designing a Creative Career on PurposeKern, you've said you're living the life you told yourself you'd live at eight years old—and that it didn't happen by accident. How did you approach building a creative career the way someone might approach a traditional profession, with strategy, planning, and long-term vision?2) Prioritizing Yourself While Raising a ChildYou became a father very young, yet you still prioritized your creative ambitions. That's a difficult balance for many people. How did you navigate that tension—and what impact did that decision have on both your career and your relationship with your daughter?3) Selling Books Without Social Media FameYou've sold roughly 15,000 books in the last year without being popular on social media, which goes against most advice writers hear today. What role has community building played in your success, and how can writers start building real relationships instead of chasing followers?4) Playing the Long GameYour journey took 15 years to reach what many would call “overnight success.” How did you stay motivated through the slower seasons, and what mindset shifts helped you keep going when results weren't immediate?5) Education, Income, and the Future of Creative WorkYou've been outspoken about what formal education gets wrong when it comes to preparing writers to earn a living. What do you think aspiring authors really need to learn—and how are you personally adapting to changes like AI entering creative industries? For creatives listening who feel behind, discouraged, or unsure if their plan is working—what's one thing you want them to remember about patience, strategy, and belief in themselves?

In this open discussion episode, host Kendall Hotchkiss leads a hands-on social media workshop, fielding community questions and sharing practical strategies. Topics range from promoting free tools to crafting hooks, storytelling techniques, and platform-specific tactics for motion designers. This episode covers:Promoting free tools and work-in-progress content: Rather than only announcing a tool at launch with a single video, sharing the development journey—snags, workarounds, and behind-the-scenes moments—builds anticipation and a stronger audience connection. Platform strategy for niche audiences: Different platforms serve different purposes—Reddit and LinkedIn tend to perform well for technical tool creators, while Instagram favors short-form and quick cuts, YouTube rewards vlog-style depth, and TikTok skews toward meme and humor content. Documenting process after the fact: For creators who struggle to post while in the middle of a project, it's entirely valid to open old project files, film a quick walkthrough, and frame it as a case study or retrospective. Posting for availability without sounding desperate: Framing availability as "booking for next month" rather than "available now" signals that you're still in demand. The chocolate-covered almond hook framework: Effective posts use a compelling hook (the "chocolate") to draw people in, paired with genuinely useful substance (the "almond") to retain them. The three copywriting questions—Can I visualize it? Can I falsify it? Could nobody else write this?—help ensure posts feel specific, authentic, and not interchangeable with AI-generated content. Storytelling structure for social posts: Short-form storytelling follows a simple beginning-middle-end arc—even a monthly recap carousel ("here's what I did, here's what I learned, here's what's next") qualifies. The three-panel problem/solution/outcome format and writing as if addressing a specific person (a mentor, a son, a Girl Scout troop) help ground posts in a specific perspective and avoid generic-feeling copy.Consistency over frequency: Posting once or twice a week with focused, high-quality content outperforms daily posting of filler. Engaging on other people's posts, reposting with commentary, and showing up in comments all count as social media presence—useful for staying visible without burning out on original content creation.LinkedIn profile and banner optimization: The LinkedIn banner is an underused piece of real estate where freelancers can embed their elevator pitch or positioning statement. High-conflict divorces thrive on chaos. In this episode of We Chat Divorce, hosts Karen Chellew and Catherine Shanahan sit down with divorce strategist and coach Courtney Harkness to explain why treating divorce like a business deal—not an emotional battleground—can dramatically shift power, protect assets, and preserve peace. Courtney, creator of the Divorce Is a Business Deal framework, shares how successful professionals can stop reacting and start leading their divorce with strategy. Drawing from her own experience co-founding a private-equity-backed company and navigating a high-conflict divorce, Courtney breaks down the three-phase approach she uses with clients: Stabilize, Strategize, Execute. You'll learn why emotional stabilization must come first, especially when dealing with narcissistic or high-conflict spouses; how reacting fuels conflict and legal costs; and why “no sudden moves” is one of the most powerful rules in divorce. The conversation also explores why rushing to hire an attorney without financial clarity often escalates conflict—and how preparation saves time, money, and long-term regret. The Daily Boost | Coaching You Need. Success You Deserve.

Yesterday we talked about fixing what's broken. Today I'm giving you the exact three steps I use with every single client to make that happen. You already know what needs to be fixed. The problem is everything feels confusing and overwhelming when it's bouncing around in your head. But when you dump it all on the table and see it clearly, suddenly you can't hold yourself back. These three steps work because they take you from confused to clear to unstoppable. No choice about it. This is how we fix things. Featured Story Every time I work with a new client, there's something I'm going to make them do. No choice. They're going to do it my way, and it might be uncomfortable. They might not want to admit what's there, but I'm going to make them do it anyway because it's the foundation of everything that comes after. We start with a massive inventory. Imagine a big table where you toss every piece of your life puzzle. Your finances, your dreams, your relationships, all of it. The stuff that sucks usually comes first. Everything that keeps you awake at night goes on that table. We don't try to fix anything yet. We just dump it out. And then something amazing happens. Important Points Taking inventory means dumping everything on the table without editing. Every resource, obstacle, and dream revealed. You already know what needs fixing. Until you see it clearly on the table, it's not blinking bright enough yellow yet. When you see life as it is and build a strategy from there, you almost can't hold yourself back. That's pure motivation. Memorable Quotes "You already know what's wrong. Until you put it on the table, it's not blinking bright enough to say caution." "Everything confusing you right now will be laid out in front of you. It's not as bad as you thought. You can do this." "Don't go for the motivation first. Go for the fix first by getting the inventory you need and seeing life as it is." Scott's Three-Step Approach Take a massive inventory and dump every single thing in your life onto the table without editing or fixing anything. Strategize by sorting through what's there, throwing away 80%, keeping the 20% that matters, and building your roadmap. Stand up, take a step, repeat. Once you see clearly where you are, the action becomes almost automatic and unstoppable. It feels good when we do it. We all like to feel generous, but are we? The impact God wants us to have requires  more than impulsive generosity. In this teaching, Servant Marcia Carty shares a timely message for believers living in a world that is increasingly chaotic and challenging. She draws a parallel between our current times and the days of Noah, highlighting the violence, lack of love, and moral decline that Jesus foretold. Carty provides a three-part framework for how believers can not only endure but thrive in these times. The three main points covered are: -- Be Strong in the Lord: Carty emphasizes that being strong is an act of faith, requiring us to trust that God is with us and will not fail or forsake us. Citing Moses' charge to Joshua, she explains that this strength comes from knowing God's greatness and His power to make the impossible possible. She encourages listeners to stand firm and to remember God's promises for their lives, their careers, and their ministries. -- Rest in the Lord: Resting in the Lord is a core component of this message. Carty explains that this rest comes from entering into God's presence and trusting in His promises, which is the antidote to fear and unbelief. She warns against hardening our hearts, as the Israelites did, which led to their being unable to enter into God's rest. -- Strategize: The final, and equally important, point is to strategize. Carty uses the examples of King David's counsel to Solomon and the disciples helping Paul escape to illustrate that being strong and trusting in God doesn't mean we should be passive. She encourages believers to pray for divine strategy, to put on the full armor of God as described in Ephesians, and to use the minds God has given them to navigate conflicts and challenges. Stu Muck says a little fog this morning should burn off to a beautiful day.A new proposal in the state legislature is aimed at the future of Wisconsin farming. The bill would require the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to launch a farmland link program through its Farm Center. The idea is to connect landowners and retiring farmers with beginning farmers looking for agricultural ground. The bill’s author Representative Clint Moses tells Stephanie Hoff that the idea came from a statewide need to both find farmland and keep that land in agriculture. Moses is vice chair on the Assembly Agriculture Committee.Crop conditions continue to look good. Pam Jahnke recaps the latest field updates including the fact that over 22% of the corn silage has already been harvested.Tuesday and Wednesday are the last hearing opportunities for farms that could be impacted by proposed fee increases on livestock yards, dealers and truckers. The President of the Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association, Tressa Lacy, has a small herd of Red Angus cattle with her husband in Rio, Wisconsin. Recently, she participated in a public hearing held by DATCP about the proposed. She says if these fees go into place it might force some livestock sales to go out of state! She says that's just not feasible for a lot of the smaller operations that depend on that local service. This crop just seems to keep getting bigger. John Heinberg, market advisor with Total Farm Marketing in West Bend says Friday's World Ag Supply/Demand report didn't have a lot of big surprises for the traders. It did shave some yield off both corn and soybeans. Heinberg's advising growers to activate some tools that will allow them to maintain ownership on their crop after they've marketed "extra bushels" to cash flow the farm through the fall.
