Q. When tieing leader to lure (jighead or hard body) loop knot or uni knot? and why in place of the other? Q. How to deal with different conditions? I remember you talked a bit about wind, I'm just getting started and tried fishing under a bridge recently and the cross current gave me grief.
How to unsnag lures Do scents work
Josh Annand shares his tips on how to chase jewfish on the north coast of NSW and surrounds using lures.
Choosing lure colours for water conditions, day and night; Differences between 1, 2 and 3 piece rods
Q. Goodonetwo - Just listened, thanks shroom. Great info! I learnt that my leader was a bit long
Q. Hey Shroomlette, how are you mate? Really been enjoying your podcasts btw, I had a question and I don't remember if you went over it? When would a good time be to switch soft plastics to a different design when the fish aren't biting and everything has gone stale, even after applying the good one xfaxtor, I never know when to change plastics and then end up not changing it at all most times. - Reels and cms per wind (low gear, high gear). Why you should know.
Q. Hey shroom moving into the colder months what adjustment are you making to increase your catch rate in winter? Eg. more Vibes, less erratic lure movement etc. would love to hear your opinion and what changes you make, if any?
S3E10 Soft Plastics Beginner Series (8) - Bream For The Level 1 Angler (Soft plastic kits in rod combos any good?, do I recommend the double uniknot, what are windknots?) by Shroom

How long of a leader do I use? What are the reasons behind that. Q. Fishing on the Georges river on a jetty catching bream and whiting on bait, how best to transition to lure fishing there as I've had zero success
I discuss the easiest lure technique to get going that has worked for me in my quest to catch fish. Slow lifting, how and why it is effective, and one of the most mistake-proof techniques.
This concept is something every angler should come to terms with. Too many people discount the cost of gear as having any influence in their fishing results and others place too much importance. Neither school of thought is entirely correct. Is it the reason why you are being held back from achieving your desired results when you fish? I'm going to explain this in detail why it matters and hopefully it helps you to make more informed decisions on your future purchases.
Shroom discusses some common questions such as: how do you work a zman grubz or a paddle tail? What action or technique can be imparted to effectively utlise the lures advantages. The concept of 'high sticking', what it means and how to avoid it and understanding that a rod should not be treated as a consumable item like braid or lures. Lastly an ever green question - when you get a fish hit the lure, do you always strike?
I discuss the two main categories of spin rod materials and why one is preferred over the other, spots and why greener on the other side is a misnomer, colour of water dictates what is best in the area and local knowledge and the age old question of beginners - what is a bite and what is a snag when they get a hit
Further information on technique-related concepts (size of movements and speed of twitches), connected-ness to lure in the form of line control of slack and concentration and belief and mindset.
So you've started soft plastic fishing have been doing it for years and only seem to be able to catch flathead and other species. Bream has eluded you outright or results have been few and far between. Maybe you're just getting back into fishing about 20+ years and need a refresher. I go through some of the common sticking points that my viewers have persistently brought up in my comment section and DMs. This podcast will set you straight and help improve your success.
Everything to get a handle on your soft plastics lure fishing Record date: 28/01/22
Greg 'Doc Lures' Vinall discusses 'Fish Senses'. Ever wondered how lure colours appear to fish underwater? Why some lures appear more attractive and some others get ignored? What fish can hear underwater - whether they can sense your approach or what you hear in the rattle of the lure sounds to them? Can they sense your lure even when fishing in complete darkness. How do scents factor in and what are the conclusions we can make from the scientific studies done on some popular scents? A myriad of other questions relating to how they sense the world around them with a focus on their anatomy by a research scientist. Guest segment starts at ~15 mins Live Air Date 18/12/21
