Pranayama and ParaYoga practitioner and teacher, Kate Dalrymple, talks with Tracy about how yoga, breathwork, and meditation practice has meaningfully impacted her mental, physical, and spiritual health. In 2011, yoga discovered Kate. Pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and asana practices became essential for her functioning as a human being. Kate felt called to be a teacher to explore and to share what was learned with others. It began as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression and then transformed into a new way of life. Yoga has brought her joy and peace in a way that no other “coping mechanism” has been able to. Kate graduated with a degree in Environmental Humanities and Outdoor Leadership and Education in 2015 and brings that passion for environmental justice and equity, public lands, and place-based learning into her practice. Kate completed her 200-hour certification in 2016 at Salt Lake Community College where she studied under teachers from multiple disciplines. Her style is heavily ParaYoga influenced and is rooted in breath-centered and functional movements, meditation, and a deep compassion for life. In mid- 2017 she moved back “home” to Boise. Her intention as a teacher is to bring more joy, loving kindness, and awareness into the world one practice at a time. Kate strives to inspire all to live compassionately with their bodies, spirits, and minds.
