Main Topic of the Day From Personality-Driven to Framework-Driven Yesterday I sat down and drilled into every project and business I run. Income-generating. Money-costing. Even things like helping when someone in the community is ill — and yes, we should mention the Jeffrey Dheeres fundraiser. Everything fit into three buckets: Nicole Sauce centered Holler Homestead centered Weird outliers The outliers go on the chopping block first. But the bigger realization was this: I have been avoiding a leadership vacuum. I kept waiting for consensus. Waiting for another leader to step forward. Waiting for clarity to magically appear. And while I waited, I tried to just do more myself. That cost me peace. It led to burnout. It stalled momentum. Here's the lesson: If I don't accept my role as leader — meaning I walk in front instead of pushing from behind — we stay in one place. Not because people aren't good. Not because they don't care. Because without structure, everything becomes personality-driven. And personality-driven systems stall when the personality gets tired. What we're building now at Holler Homestead is a framework. Basecamp Lodge is functional. Classes are being scheduled (like the March 14 bacon class). The basement classroom is moving forward. Homestead systems are being documented. The buying club is poised for its first test. We're looking at additional acreage. Long-term vision: Expanded land. Commons effort. Cabins for temporary stays. People coming to experience regenerative community, food, skill-building, and reset. Membership options for non-residents. Not a massive intentional community. An example. Something that can be learned from and replicated elsewhere. And here's the key: Structure allows generosity. When more people in the community have needs, chaos doesn't scale — structure does. If you don't build framework, your generosity burns you out. If you build framework, your generosity becomes sustainable. So here's the question for you: Where are you avoiding stepping into leadership? Where are you burning out because you won't build structure? Is your project personality-driven when it needs to become framework-driven? Sometimes growth doesn't require more effort. It requires clarity. And someone willing to walk in front.

EPISODE 121 DETAILS U.S. Ranchers Say No To Argentina Beef President Donald Trump's new beef trade deal with Argentina could increase imports by as much as 80,000 tons this year — a move that's raising red flags for some U.S. ranchers. The agreement takes effect today. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is defending the decision, saying critics are missing the bigger picture. She argues the additional imports are focused on ground beef and are intended to help bring down prices at the grocery store — noting that ground beef is not the primary product most U.S. ranchers produce. But not everyone is on board. State agriculture leaders from North Dakota to Texas are pushing back. North Dakota Farmers Union President Matt Perdue says cattle producers in his state are disappointed. He argues the deal is unlikely to significantly lower consumer prices and warns it could put added pressure on domestic producers. Meanwhile, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is calling for a stronger “America First” approach, especially as the U.S. cattle herd sits at historic lows. Miller says the priority should be rebuilding America's cattle numbers and expanding domestic processing capacity to keep ranchers competitive. He's also voiced  concern about expanding Argentine beef imports at a time when U.S. producers are already facing tight supplies. Looking ahead, Miller says the next Farm Bill must firmly support American ranchers, and he's outlining proposals aimed at strengthening the cattle industry for the long term. A decades-long fight ends, opening new opportunity for hunters across Pennsylvania.   Pennsylvania has officially expanded Sunday hunting, marking one of the most significant conservation policy wins in the Northeast. After years of stalled efforts and narrow defeats, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation along with the Pennsylvania Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus Members, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and a broad coalition of conservation groups worked together to roll back long-standing restrictions and restore access for sportsmen and women.   Championed by Representatives Mandy Steele and Anita Kulik, and signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro, the legislation gives the Game Commission authority to fully incorporate Sundays into regulated hunting seasons. For working families balancing youth sports, church, and packed schedules, the added day means more time afield and on the waterways, and greater opportunity to mentor new hunters.   Beyond access, the impact stretches into wildlife management and agriculture. Expanded hunting days can help address crop damage from high deer populations, reduce deer-vehicle collisions, and support long-term conservation funding through license sales. Early reports from wardens indicate strong participation and heartfelt appreciation from families finally able to hunt together on Sundays.   This milestone also sets a precedent for regional states like Maine and Massachusetts, where full prohibitions remain.
