Kingdom Economy Pt. I 1: GOD IS THE OWNER. YOU ARE THE MANAGER. Psalm 24:1 (NLT): The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Deuteronomy 8:17–18 (NLT): He did all this so you would never say to yourself, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy. 'Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful… 2: MONEY IS SPIRITUAL. IT REVEALS WHAT YOU REALLY TRUST Proverbs 11:25 – “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”   3: FAITHFULNESS STARTS BEFORE ABUNDANCE Luke 16:10 (NLT) If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities.” Faithfulness doesn't start when life gets easier. It starts with what you already have Deuteronomy 8:18 (NLT) Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful… God doesn't bless control. He blesses trust.

How to Handle the Word | Pastor Zach Fontaine

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 18, 2025 44:07

Non-Negotiables - Part 4 : How to Handle the Word   How to Handle the Word: How to Read, Understand, and Apply the Bible 1 - Know What You're Holding  The Bible is one book... but it's made up of 66 smaller books. It's not laid out like a novel - it's a library.   Old Testament (before Jesus came - points to Him) New Testament (after Jesus came - shows how to live in the New Covenant)   What does fulfill the law mean? 1. The Law Set the Standard Romans 3:20 - Through the law we become conscious of our sin.   2. Jesus Met the Standard Matthew 5:17- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.   3. Now We Live in His Righteousness Romans 10:4 - Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.   2 - Some is to you but all is for you Romans 15:4 (ESV) For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.   Filter 1 - What does this reveal about God's character? Filter 2 - What principle or pattern is here that still applies? Filter 3 - How does this point me to Jesus? Jesus Himself Said It   Luke 24:27 - "Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself."   John 5:39 - You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me."   Examples of the Old Testament  Pointing to Jesus   Passover lamb (Exodus 12): Blood over the door saved Israel from death - Jesus is the Lamb of God whose blood saves us.   The sacrificial system (Leviticus): Constant sacrifices showed sin required death - Jesus is the once-for-all sacrifice.   Jonah in the fish (Jonah 1-2): Three days inside + Jesus rose after three days in the tomb (Matthew 12:40).   The Exodus (Exodus 14): God delivered Israel from slavery to Egypt * Jesus delivers us from slavery to sin.   3 - Learn to Apply What You Read James 1:22 says, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."   4 - Let Scripture Interpret Scripture Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

    Non-Negotiables - Part 3 : The Final Word | Pastor Zach Fontaine

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 11, 2025 47:13

The Final Word Why the Bible is the final authority for a Jesus follower. You can feel confident and still be wrong. Without God's Word, you might be carrying something messy and not even know it. The Bible isn't optional — it's the blueprint for life.   1. The Word of God is the Voice of God   All Scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Same breath that created the world speaks here. This is your Creator's manual — not to limit you, but to align you. Obedience doesn't earn God's love — it unleashes His wisdom (James 1:22–25). Different Bible translations fall into the following categories:  a)Word-for-word translations (like NKJV or ESV) stick as close as possible to the original wording. b)Thought-for-thought translations (like NLT) keep the meaning the same but make the sentence structure easier to read in modern language. c) Paraphrases (like The Message) that are more like a devotional commentary than a literal translation.   Reflection Question: Is the Bible the final authority in your life, or just an optional opinion? When you disagree with Scripture, who wins?   2. The Bible Transforms Your Mind   The biggest battle is in your mind (Romans 12:2). If you don't fill it with truth, culture will fill it with lies. God's truth doesn't change with trends. The Word is alive and pierces to the core (Hebrews 4:12).   You are being shaped every day: ....By what you scroll ....By what you watch ....By the conversations you're in ....By the opinions you allow to settle in your soul And if you aren't grounded in God's Word, you will be swept up in the world's way of thinking.   3. The Bible Is Truth   “Your word is truth” (John 17:17). The Bible isn't a suggestion — it's the standard. Truth doesn't bend with culture — we change for it, it doesn't change for us.   Some of the Hardest Commands Are the Ones That Set You Free Things like: Tithing - feels like a financial burden until you realize it's God's way to protect your heart from greed and open you up to provision. Sexual boundaries - feel restrictive until you realize they guard the most vulnerable and sacred parts of you. Forgiveness - feels impossible until you realize it frees you more than the person you're forgiving. Rest - feels like a waste of time until you realize it's how God keeps you from becoming a slave to productivity. Serving others - feels like a drain until you realize it's how God expands your capacity and matures your heart. Loving your enemies - feels unfair until you realize bitterness only keeps you bound to what hurt you. Honouring God with your body - feels outdated until you realize it's about worship, not restriction. Letting go of self-defined identity - feels scary until you realize He knows you better than you know yourself.   God's boundaries aren't about control. They're about calling. Every voice will try to define you. Only God's Word can hold you when storms hit (Matthew 7:24–25). Decide today: The Bible is not just a book you respect — it's the voice you obey.

Jesus: The Non-Negotiable | Pastor Zach Fontaine

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 21, 2025 39:28

You can get a lot wrong in life and still find grace, but if you get Jesus wrong, you miss everything.   Key Scriptures: • Matthew 16:15 - “Who do you say I am?” • John 14:6 - “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” • 1 Corinthians 15:17 - If Christ hasn't been raised, your faith is useless. • Romans 1:4 - The resurrection proved Jesus is the Son of God. • 2 Corinthians 11:4 -  A warning about following a different Jesus. • Colossians 1:15–20 - Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.     1. Jesus is the Centrepiece of the Gospel Christianity isn't built on vibes or values, it's built on a Person. Take Jesus out, and the whole thing crumbles. He didn't point to truth; He said, “I am the truth.”   2. Not Every Jesus is the Real Jesus A made-up Jesus can't save you. If your Jesus never challenges you, never confronts sin, and always agrees with your opinions, you didn't find the Messiah. You built a mirror.   3. The Resurrection Proves It Jesus said He'd die and rise again - and then He did. That's either delusion or divinity, and only one of those changed history. The resurrection isn't a metaphor. It's the reason your faith has weight.   One-Liner to Remember: You either crown Him or crucify Him, but you can't casually admire Him.   Call to Action: Don't follow the version of Jesus that fits your preferences. Follow the One who beat death and still calls you by name. This isn't about religion; it's about surrendering to the King who actually lived, died, and rose.

Non-Negotiables - Part 1 : What Are We Even Doing? Not all truth carries equal weight We're called to know, build on, and defend the core truths of the Christian faith without getting distracted or divided by side issues   Point 1: Not All Truth Is Equal 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day”   Truth All biblical truth matters, but not all truth is essential to salvation If you try to carry everything like it's essential You'll crush yourself You'll crush others   Maturity is knowing what matters most and keeping the Gospel central   Point 2: The Non-Negotiables Are the Foundation   The Core Non-Negotiables    Jesus is God John 1:1 Colossians 2:9 He didn't just speak for God—He was God He died for our sins Isaiah 53:5 2 Corinthians 5:21 The cross wasn't a tragedy. It was a substitution He rose from the dead 1 Corinthians 15:17 Romans 10:9 No resurrection means no hope But Jesus did rise We're saved by grace through faith Ephesians 2:8–9 Titus 3:5 Not earned Not maintained through performance It's all Jesus The Bible is the Word of God 2 Timothy 3:16 Psalm 119:105 It's not outdated It's God's truth revealed and alive God is Father, Son, and Spirit Matthew 28:19 John 14:16–17 One God in three Persons This is the framework of the Gospel The Father sent The Son accomplished The Spirit empowers and seals   Why it matters  If you remove any one of these, Christianity collapses   Point 3: Negotiables Shouldn't Divide You Romans 14:1 “Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarrelling over disputable matters”   Examples of negotiables - Worship styles - End times timelines - Bible translations - Tattoos, clothing, holidays - Drinking alcohol   These may shape how you live, but they shouldn't decide who you walk with in the faith   Titus 3:9 “Avoid foolish controversies… they are unprofitable and useless”   Not everything is essential Some things are open-handed We can still love Jesus and see things differently     Reflection Questions Have I made secondary issues more important than the Gospel? Do I know what I believe about the core truths and why I believe them? Do I treat others with grace on disputable matters or try to win every argument?
