For our final day this week, we are going to meditate completely on Scripture that expresses gratitude. Take these passages into your mind, heart, and spirit. (Psalm 100 NLT) Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. (Psalm 105:1-4 NLT) Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. (Psalm 106:1-2 NLT)Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? (Psalm 107:1-2 NLT) Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. (Psalm 108:1-5 NLT) My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! … I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. (Revelation 5:11-13 NLT) I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.” Pray “Lord Jesus, thank You for forgiveness and freedom. As I accept Your forgiveness and freedom, help me always to grant forgiveness and freedom to others. You are worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. As above, so below.”
Word for Today: 1 Kings 3:9 NLT “Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong.”
NOTES: Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Hebrews 12:14–15 (NLT) Bitterness is the result of unresolved, unforgiven anger and resentment built up over time. It's an INVISIBLE root that produces VISIBLE fruit. THREE SIGNS OF UNRESOLVED ANGER SIGN #1: FUME and SPEW. SIGN #2: PAYBACK. SIGN #3: SILENT attack. HOW DO WE KILL THE ROOT OF BITTERNESS? EXPOSE the OBJECTS of your bitterness. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. Ephesians 5:11 (NLT) Give up your claim to REVENGE and BLAME. Get to the ROOT of the PROBLEM. BOTTOM LINE: A bitter ROOT produces bitter FRUIT. THE CHALLENGE: Identify the ROOT.
The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, “Go down to the potter's shop, and I will speak to you there.” So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. Then the Lord gave me this message: “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand.” Jeremiah 18:1-6 NLT 1. Jeremiah saw the potter Remember, I pray, that You have made me like clay. Job 10:9 NKJV In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NLT In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2 NLT 2. Jeremiah saw the wheel And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT 3. Jeremiah saw the clay Sin is simply when we resist God's Will. In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets—some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage. Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 MSG LIFE WILL NEVER MAKE SENSE UNLESS YOU LIVE A LIFE BIGGER THAN YOURSELF For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. 5:8-10 NIV 1. ASK YOURSELF “What should I STOP doing” Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them… Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise… Ephesians 5:11;15 NIV Behind your darkness is God's purpose for your life. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLT Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; your feet from following evil. Proverbs 4:25-27 NLT 2. ASK YOURSELF “What should I START doing” Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Ephesians 5:16-17 NIV Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. James 4:17 NLT “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:34 MSG 3. ASK YOURSELF “What AM I WAITING FOR” I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT People that procrastinate talk about a life of purpose. People who take initiative live a life of purpose. Why do you Matter? 1. You Matter to our Church God is looking for passionate disciples. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the lord.” Psalms 122:1 NLT But the time is coming—indeed it's here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. John 4:23 NLT God is looking for compassionate disciples. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:13-15 NLT 2. You Matter to our Community Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16 NLT Well our Church must become larger and smaller at the same time Small groups create 3 things we all need A place to Connect A place to Protect A place to Grow 3. You Matter to God There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other; But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it… 1 Corinthians 12:4-7;18 When you live beyond yourself the meaning of life comes into focus and life has purpose! But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Acts 20:24 NLT

Jesus saw people in their helplessness and confusion, and He had compassion. What would it look like for us to fully receive that compassion and allow it to fuel our mission? Lead Pastor Jason Gore looks back on 2023 and forward to what's in store for 2024.--Every year at Hope, we take a moment to look back through the past year and highlight what we've experienced and accomplished. We also paint a vision for what the next year will be like for us as a church. What has the last year looked like for us at Hope, and what are we looking forward to in this next year? Near the end of the year, we do three things: 1. Celebrate what God has done through this church family 2. Evaluate where we are as a church family 3. Look ahead to what God has for us in the coming yearMatthew 9:35 (NLT)Jesus was with the people.Matthew 9:36 (NLT)Jesus had compassion on the people. Our God is a God of compassion.Matthew 9:37-38 (NLT)Jesus told them to pray. Pray for more workers.Matthew 10:1, 5a, 7-8 (NLT)Jesus made His disciples the answer to the prayer He told them to pray. Jesus sends those who understand His compassion to go to the ones who need compassion. Two things we need to learn from this passage: 1. Jesus has compassion for us in our brokenness. 2. We are led to show that compassion to the world around us.Compassion fuels the mission.Compassion should move us to prayer, and that prayer should lead to action.Who We Are – Our mission as a church is to love people where they are and encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Nice by Shannon Hodde Miller 1 Chronicles 4:10 NLT - He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request. 1 Chronicles 16:25-27 NLT - 25 Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. 26 The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! 27 Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling. 1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. In a world where we have no idea what news could drop tomorrow or what is going to pop off next, Jabez's bold prayer can bring us comfort, bolster our faith, & remind us that our hope in the Lord is never misplaced. For those of us who bear the name of the Lord as Christians, representing Him here on earth comes with a measure of responsibility & sobriety. Let's opt to live honorable lives, as Jabez did. Ask yourself, "Am I truly honoring my Lord? And am I brave enough to pray the way Jabez prayed?" Take time to pause and give the Lord praise on a regular basis. Dig deep and spend time considering new things to thank Him and praise Him for. God is to be feared above all else. do we actually fear Him? Or do we have more of a "so-so" kind of fear of the Lord? Our fear of the Lord is proven or disproven in our hourly, daily, weekly, yearly decisions, thoughts, actions, choices, attitudes & behaviors. God is to be feared - and this is not a suggestion. Strength & joy fill His dwelling. We can, and should, rely on His strength that is over all else, and take part in His joy (which we are told in the book of Nehemiah is our strength). A joyless life is a strengthless life for the follower of Jesus. His majesty is always surrounding Him. It never departs from His presence. Do we stand in awe of the majesty of God? Be sure to give thanks to the Lord - for He is good! And be assured of this promise: God's faithful love toward YOU endures ... for how long? FOREVER~

1 Peter 5:7 NLT: Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Are you a worrier? In I Peter 5:7 he tells us to take all of our anxieties, everything that worries us, and to give them to God who cares deeply for us. Your pressures and burdens can become heavy and difficult. When you try to carry them on your own you will become weary. But God has a better way. ___________________________________________________ COMMENTS: yvonnetheauthor@gmail.com ______________________________________________________________ TO PURCHASE MY BOOKS: https://www.amazon.com/Yvonne-Randle/e/B00D5SKEDW%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share?fbclid=IwAR3otQzNZCgFthQigTc_6hKgFM9Zy8Q8ANtJDyNHFj7LEfOCphbCd8wgguM --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/healthywealthywisedating/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/healthywealthywisedating/support
[Romans 11:33] Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! There is no way we can know ___________________ about God. [Isaiah 55:8-9] "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. [9] For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. God isn't trying to ___________________ from you. God is always true to His ___________________. [2 Peter 1:3-5] By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. [4] And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. [5] In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. God works through ___________________ like you. [John 14:12] "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. Everything God does is ___________________. [Psalm 107:1 NLT] Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. God wants to ___________________ Himself to you. [Philippians 3:8-11] Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ [9] and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith. [10] I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, [11] so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

God Owns Everything You think Own 1 Corinthians 10:26 (NLT) 26 For “the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it.” Psalm 24:1 (NLT) The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Exodus 19:5 (NLT) Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. Job 41:11 (NLT) Who has given me anything that I need to pay back? Everything under heaven is mine. Haggai 2:8 (NLT) The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven's Armies. Your Giving Back to God Reflects your Faith in God's Ability to Provide for You Mark 12:41-44 (NLT) Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. 43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.” Giving Should be Sacrificial and Generous 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 (NLT) Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. 2 They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. 3 For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. 4 They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem. 5 They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do. Leviticus 23:10 (NLT) “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you enter the land I am giving you and you harvest its first crops, bring the priest a bundle of grain from the first cutting of your grain harvest. Giving Is an Act of Worship Genesis 4:3-5 (NLT) When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, 5 but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. Matthew 6:25-26 (NLT) “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are?
1 Kings 3:9 NLT “Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”” But is godly ambition alone enough for us to succeed?
It is so easy to get anxious or become fearful when things are happening around you, or maybe even in your body. It's easy to become anxious, but you don't have to give in to the pressure of life. You don't have to live under the circumstances. You can be strong in the Lord. I want to help you face and fight anxiety with God's Word. In today's teaching, I'm going to give you 2 ways that will help you know how to fight anxiety. And so, you don't miss them, I'm going to give you the 2 ways to fight anxiety right up front. Hear the Word of God Pray the Word of God. Not only do I want you to give anxiety the one two punch of hearing and praying the Word. I want to give you 5 verses that have helped me fight anxiety and fear so many times. God's Word is powerful I fight anxiety with Philippians 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I can't tell you how many times I have prayed 1 Peter 5:7 NLT Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Proverbs 16:3 BSB Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be achieved. Psalm 55:22 BSB Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 34:15 BSB The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. It changes things, we get a grip on the reality that God sees and listens when we cry out to Him!!! Two ways to use these verses to fight anxiety. And, I am going to give you two resources that will build your faith muscles and help you pray more effectively. Listen, I want you to win over anxiety, but you got to get up and fight the good fight of faith. So here's two resources that will encourage you. The first resource is the video on this page. 1. Listen to these verses, but more importantly let them soak into your spirit. Say them with me again and again. Jot down anything Holy Spirit whispers as you listen to these verses. 2. Read the verses aloud yourself. I put the verses in a .pdf so you can upload them into your Kindle or whatever reader you may use. If you have joined my tribe of hungry believers, then you will have the link in an email from me. If you haven't joined me yet, let me encourage you to join us right now. Problem fixation: the inability to look beyond the circumstances to think __________________ about a situation. [1 Kings 17-19] Even the Godliest can get __________________. When the problems of the moment cover over the glory of God. God knows you are __________________. He is not always heard in the loudness, or in a mighty show of power, but is mostly in __________________ _________ __________________ when it seems like he's not doing anything. [1 Peter 5:7 NLT] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Give your problems over to God and __________________ that he will act. [Romans 5:1-5 NLT] Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. [Romans 8:28 ESV] And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. [Romans 8:31 ESV] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Today, I wanted to talk about the idea of getting ready to meet with God. Now, the caveat is that you can talk to God anytime, anywhere, right? In fact, we're instructed to pray at all times, aren't we? Ephesians 6:18 says, “Pray in the Spirit at all times.” And 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Never stop praying.” And that is such a blessing, such a gift, that we can talk to God at any moment. We don't have to be anywhere special, we don't have to wait for a certain time. We can just talk. But what I want to focus on today is that sometimes we need to not just talk to God, but prepare ourselves to actually encounter Him, to stop and listen for His response. We need time to get ready to meet with Him. Today, I want to explore a few different ways that this idea of getting ready shows up in the Christian life and then see what it might look like for you personally. Kari ARE YOU READY TO C.A.R.E.
How do we gain more respect in our relationships? In this week's podcast episode titled "Respect", I break down the importance of setting the tone for how we want to be treated in our relationships by how we treat ourselves. This includes: setting boundaries, communicating our needs, and showing respect to others. Let me know what you think about this week's episode down in the RATING/REVIEW section. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @ReconstructHER! Definition: Respect (n) - due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. (Oxford Languages) Biblical References: Matthew 22:37-39 (NKJV) - Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Luke 6:31 (NLT) - Do to others as you would like them to do to you. Luke 6:35 (NKJV) - But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Luke 6:38 (NLT) - Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full --- pressed down, shaken together to make room for more running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/reconstructher/support

Episode Summary: Even if you've not been in the situation, you know others who have and need to know there is hope. In this episode, I talk with Karen DeArmond Gardner about hope for healing after domestic abuse. Many women don't realize they are in an abusive situation because he doesn't hit her. Only 14% of domestic violence is physical violence. When they get out of the marriage, they don't know that healing is available. There is hope and healing. Quotables from the episode: So often, our ministry comes out of our deepest pain, Many women don't realize they are in an abusive relationship. Coercive Control is when someone uses coercion through the threat of violence to control or manipulate someone. Only 14% of domestic violence is actually physical violence. There is often nothing a domestic abuse victim can do to change their abuser. Domestic abuse is NOT suffering for Jesus. Scripture References: Proverbs 6:16-19 NLT “There are six things the Lord hates—no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.” Psalm 107:1-2 NLT “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.” Ephesians 5:2 NLT “Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” Galatians 5:13 “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:19-23 “When you follow the desires of yur sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Recommended Resources: Hope for Healing from Domestic Abuse: Reaching for God's Promise of Real Freedom by Karen DeArmond Gardner Free Download: How To Fight Fearful/Anxious Thoughts and Win Breaking Anxiety's Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety's Grip Free Study Guide Free 7-Day YouVersion Bible Reading Plan for Breaking Anxiety's Grip Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor's Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Social Media Links for Host and Guest: To connect with Karen DeArmond Gardner: Website / Facebook / Instagram / Twitter For more hope, stay connected with Dr. Bengtson at: Order Book Breaking Anxiety's Grip / Order Book Hope Prevails / Website / Blog / Facebook / Twitter (@DrMBengtson) / LinkedIn / Instagram / Pinterest / YouTube Guest: Karen DeArmond Gardner is a thirty-year survivor of domestic abuse and an advocate for women who've experienced abuse and divorce. Deuteronomy 16:16-17 (NASB) “Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths; and they are not to appear before the Lord empty-handed. God Owns Everything You think Own 1 Corinthians 10:26 (NLT) 26 For “the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” Psalm 24:1 (NLT) The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. Haggai 2:8 (NLT) The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Your Giving Back to God Reflects your Faith in God’s Ability to Provide for You Mark 12:41-44 (NLT) Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

Text: various Theme: Letting go of the fantasy that I can control my life is such a critical step. There is a clear need for each of us to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. More than a “get-out-of-hell-free” card, this step completely places me under His leadership. He calls the shots in EVERY area of my life. Memory Verse: 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
"Letting Go" is about fearing less and loving more. It means instead of trying to adjust everything to your own desires, you take each day as it comes and cherish each moment. Let go of others and let God deal with them! To get the most out of this devotion, set aside time to read the Scripture referenced throughout this reading. Today's reading is from Psalm 55:22 (NLT) "Give your burdens to the Lord." Facebook Groups: Relentless Devotion, Relentless Living Website: www.relentlesslivingnow.com

2 Corinthians 8:2-5 (NLT) 2 They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. Ungenerous Christians are stunted souls. 2 Corinthians 8:6-8 (NLT) 6 So we have urged Titus, who encouraged your giving in the first place, to return to you and encourage you to finish this ministry of giving. 7 Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us —I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. 8 I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches. Nothing inspires a good endeavor as much as a good example. 2 Corinthians 8:10-11 (NLT) 10 Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it. 11 Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Good intentions are useless if not followed with corresponding actions 2 Corinthians 8:11-12 (NLT) Give in proportion to what you have. 12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

Join us this week as Pastor Rick talks about what living a generous life actually looks like. Is it more than a feeling, and how do we know if we are growing in our generosity? NEXT STEPS: I will assess my generosity through the lens of Christ’s generosity toward me. This week, I’m asking the Holy Spirit to show me how I can go the extra mile in my relationships. This week, I will memorize Proverbs 11:24-25 (NLT) “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” I will be generous in my giving, and increase my giving by 1%.
WHY WE NEED A RIGHT PERSPECTIVE EWOC – September 1,2019 Hebrews 12:2 (HCSB) 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne. Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV) 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God 1. About People Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT) 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ A. Many Lack A Right Perspective Concerning Others. Some hold ill feelings and resentments. Some depend too much on others –, doctors, ministers, friends or loved ones – instead of Christ. B. God Must Be First In Our Lives We should love others and appreciate the assistance, kindness and support we receive from them – BUT we must put our ultimate faith and trust in God! 2. About Problems 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) Give (cast) all your worries (anxiety) and cares to God, for he cares about you. A. Many People Are Engulfed By Their Problems And The Cares Of Life. They work with their problems, bring them home, and eat and sleep with them. Their lives are frustrated and exhausted with problems. B. We Must Face Up To Our Problems Recognizing them for what they are and seeking solutions for them. Our faith and God’s help will bring the right perspective – He is always able to solve our problems 3. About Possessions Luke 12:15 (NLT) 15 Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Matthew 11:25-30 & Hebrews 13:1-9 Scripture that I was looking for: 1 Peter 5:7 NLT Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Week 9 – Andy Hazelet – July 30th, 2017 Message Notes: Big Idea: The problems of our day require a different solution. Main Scripture: Zephaniah 2:3; 3:1-4. 3:1 – “What sorrow awaits rebellious, polluted Jerusalem, the city of violence and crime!” (NLT) Big Question: What is the problem of our day? The Problem of the People. 3:2 – “No one can tell it anything; it refuses all correction. It does not trust in the LORD or draw near to its God.” (NLT) Rejection of God's truth: “She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction.” (ASV) Trust in themselves. Ignored the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV) James 4:8 – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (NASB) The Problem of the Leadership. 3:3 – “Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey. (NLT) Zephaniahs 3:4 – Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God's instructions.” (NLT) They led from a selfish position: They themselves were defiled: They refused to teach the truths of God: “Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.” (NASB) Matthew 23:23-25 says: “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel. “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.” (NIV) “Someone has said that a politician is concerned about his party and asks. “Is it popular?” The diplomat is concerned with policy and asks, “Is it safe?” But the statesman is concerned about the good of the nation and asks, “Is it right?” (Wiersbe) What do I want for my children spiritually? How am I modeling that or leading them toward that? The Problem of the Church. 2:3 – “Seek the LORD, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the LORD will protect you—protect you from his anger on that day of destruction.” (NLT) Psalm 86:11 – “Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.” (NLT) “Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen, such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of God on earth.” (John Wesley) Stop lobbying, start seeking.
It’s very easy to get our life out of order. Sometimes we need to take a step back and assess what we’re making a priority in our lives. As we continue, In God We Trust, Bill walks us through this idea through the lens of Genesis 13 and the story of Abram and Lot. Prioritizing Life In God We Trust | Week 2 November 6, 2016 | Bill Clark Are you prioritizing the big rocks in your life? Matthew 6:33 (NIV) Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you as well. Genesis 13:1-18 (NIV) 1 So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him. 2 Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold. 3 From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier 4 and where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the Lord. 5 Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. 6 But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together. 7 And quarreling arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time. 8 So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.” 10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. 13 Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord. 14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” 18 So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the Lord. Lot’s decision came down to his self-interest, his comfort, and his desire for more material wealth. God was his first priority. Proverbs 11:24 (NLT) Give freely and become more wealthy, become stingy and lose everything. What or who do you put FIRST in your decision-making about the use of your resources? What would need to change if God received the first and best of your resources? Are you a blessing receiver or a blessing giver?
Friday, June 28, 2013 Schedule it Today I read Leviticus chapters 21-23, why not read them today with me? ________________ Leviticus 23:2-4 NLT “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as official days for holy assembly. “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live. “In addition to the Sabbath, these are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the official days for holy assembly that are to be celebrated at their proper times each year. _______________ I'm a big one for putting it on the calendar. I like a plan. Oh to be sure I like spontinaity but I think being flexible works best in a framework or a structure. Along side the details of plans, diaries and expectations I love to see the big picture. I like a good overview. Life benefits from both a healthy analysis as well as a synthesis. Look at the parts and how each part works individually and from very limited perspectives. Then look at the whole, the trends the big picture and see the parts with in the whole. Leviticus contains instructions about the details of seven national annual festivals or holidays (Holy Days). These days were in addition to the weekly Sabbath days. So a Jewish community calendar would have a lot to look forward to. But also there was the expectation that like western Christmas lots of money went into these festivals. Nearly each one required specific sacrifices. Since the real daily commodity of life is food and nearly all the required festival sacrifices were food a family would have to plan. No holiday is complete without a big meal so it was more than a double consideration that a portion of the best food would be taken to the tabernacle /temple as a sacrifice and then there were the hungry families to feed. These regular frequent privileges and equally obligations required planning. But ultimately God was teaching his people to be careful and regular about recognising him as thier provider, protector, defender and rescuer. I can see how the whole system might become rather expensive and difficult to keep up with. But God said he'd provide. By giving up a portion of the best regularly and then celebrating lavishly God's people had inbuilt systems to keep them dependant on God. Do you see God's provision? Are you completely dependant on him? Do you have in your life specific times to celebrate? Are you preparing to honour God with your first fruits and remembering his rescues? How about putting it on a calendar?
