Ever wish you could be unbothered—the kind of person who doesn’t spiral when things go sideways? In today’s devotional, Laura Bailey shares a heartfelt story about her friend’s tough day, a voicemail full of frustration, and a powerful moment of conviction from the Holy Spirit. What started as venting turned into a moment of humility—and a reminder that being “unbothered” doesn’t mean we ignore hurt. It means we choose grace over pride. As Romans 12:3 tells us: “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, by the faith God has distributed to each of you.” (NIV) Let this be your reminder:Being unbothered doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means you care more about the person than the problem. Join the Conversation:Have you ever caught yourself in a moment of venting—only to feel convicted later? What helps you respond with grace instead of reacting with frustration? Let us know @LifeaudioNetwork or by email. We’d love to hear your story.
Jesus doesn't begin the Sermon on the Mount with commands—He begins with identity. “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” These aren't tasks to perform, but deep truths to live from. In this episode, we explore three powerful, identity-shaping metaphors Jesus gives His followers: Salt, Light, and a City on a Hill. These aren't random illustrations—they're rooted in the Hebrew Scriptures and steeped in covenant language. Salt reminds us of God's enduring faithfulness. Light reflects our calling to reveal God's presence in a dark world. And a City? It's a picture of a visible, communal people where others encounter the reign of God. Through this lens, we'll see how Jesus redefines what it means to be blessed and challenges us to live lives that are distinct, illuminated, and grounded in the story of God. Whether it's in our neighborhoods, workplaces, or online spaces, Jesus is calling us to be a preserving presence, a revealing light, and a visible people shaped by His Kingdom. Key Themes: Salt as covenant loyalty Light as God's mission The Church as a City that reflects God's kingdom Scripture Focus: Matthew 5:13–16 (NIV) "Let your light shine..." not to draw attention to ourselves, but to glorify our Father in heaven.” Episode Links: Buy Me A Coffee simplyrevised.org Contact Us Receive our newsletter Facebook Instagram Music Provided by Eric Gwin Appain Media: Bible Study Without Borders: Sermon on the Mount BibleProject (podcast): Salt of the Land and Light of the World

Immeasurably More // New Identity Ephesians 4:17-32 (NIV)“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” 1. In Christ, We Have a New Identity. Ephesians 4:22 (NIV)“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.” Ephesians 4:24 (NIV)“And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Colossians 3:9-10 (NIV)“…You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Romans 13:12, 14 (NIV)“…Let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” Ephesians 4:1 (NIV)“…I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Matthew 6:8 (ESV)“Do not be like them…” Romans 12:2 (NIV)"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” 2. In Christ We Should be Honest and Not Lie. Ephesians 4:25 (NIV)“Therefore, each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Christians Are to Have Righteous Anger, Not Unrighteous. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV)“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Psalm 4:4 (ESV)“Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.” Psalm 119:53 (ESV)“Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law.” Mark 3:5 (ESV)“And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart…” Christians Are to Work, Be Generous, and Not Steal. Ephesians 4:28 (NIV)“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.” Christians are to Replace Corrupt Talk with Edifying Talk. Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:30 (NIV)“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Christians are to Replace Bitterness and Rage with Kindness and Forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Colossians 3:15 encourages us to "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts." Imagine being part of a well-coordinated team in a game like Overwatch or League of Legends. Success comes when everyone works together under a unified strategy.Similarly, we're called to let Christ's peace guide our hearts and interactions. This peace isn't passive; it actively influences how we respond to situations and people. As members of one body—the church—we're meant to live in harmony. When we allow His peace to rule, it becomes the umpire in our hearts, making the calls in our decisions and relationships.Prayer:Jesus, we invite Your peace to take control of our hearts. Help us to prioritize unity and love within our communities. Let Your peace dictate our responses and bring us together as one body. In Your name, Amen.

SUBSCRIBE to our sister podcasts:Your Daily Prayer: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-prayer/Your Daily Bible Verse: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-bible-verse/ Full Transcript Below Focus on Jesus By Alexis A. Goring “I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.” — Psalm 123:1 (NIV) Let's face it: Our world is in complete chaos. But we do have hope! His name is Jesus Christ and He can help us survive this experience on Earth. It's easy to get caught up in all that is wrong with our world today: wars and rumors of wars, division in the Christian church, turmoil in our communities in the USA and throughout the world, bad weather wreaking havoc, political upheaval, as well as personal struggles and the trials we all endure as followers of Jesus Christ. Truthfully, it's a lot and very overwhelming if that's our focus. But the moment we decide to turn our eyes upon Jesus, that is when our perspective begins to change. We remember that planet Earth is not our home. We realize that one day, Jesus will return and usher all His faithful followers into Heaven where there will be no more pain, sorrow, heartbreak, disappointment, or sin. Heaven is a perfect place, and when we arrive there, we too will be perfect. But for now, Earth is our temporary home. God does not expect us to ignore all the problems we have on this planet. Instead, He expects us to serve others as we serve Him. It's our duty to make this world a better place. We can do that by focusing on our faith walk with Jesus. When we ask Him to show us what He is doing in this world, we can learn what we can do to partner with Him in driving out the darkness. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the Light of the world (John 8:12) and as Christians, we are a light for Christ (Matthew 5:14). It is important to spend time with God and ask Him how we can share Christ's light and love with our fellow humans—especially those who don't know Jesus yet. William J. Thoms, a British writer, said, “Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.” Therefore, let's do our best to love God and all people. Our hope is that they will be drawn to Him and learn how much God loves them. When we share the love of Jesus, it helps to ease their pain as they learn how to look to Christ. The lyrics to the hymn, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” tell us that when we look to Jesus, all the problems in this world seem to fade away. Our perspective is renewed as we allow His goodness, grace, and mercy to flood our souls, bringing us close to Him and reminding us that this world is not our home. Several years ago, I was pouring out my heart to Jesus about all the pain in this world and lamenting how it was affecting me. God responded by speaking these words to my heart: “Remember, Earth is temporary and that means your pain is temporary.” He helped me see that all the trials and tribulations, death and destruction, betrayal and pain … it all will be put to a permanent end by Jesus Christ. There is an expiration date to our pain and that date is known as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Only God knows the exact date and time when He will send His Son to take us home (Matthew 24:36). God wants everyone to know Him and be saved in His Kingdom. Let's keep working to share His Light and His love with our world today and every day. There are two songs that helped to inspire this devotional today: “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” by Rachael Lampa and “Turn to Jesus” by Katy Nichole. I encourage you to listen to both, because the lyrics can help us focus on Jesus. Let's thank Jesus for being our safe place, our refuge and ever-present help in trouble. Let's look to Jesus and focus on Him so that we are not consumed by all the pain and suffering in this world. Let's thank the Lord for always being here for us and never leaving us to face life alone. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. This passage from the prophet Isaiah, offering God's words to the people of Israel, is both beautiful and poetic. As followers of Christ, we can apply these promises to our own lives because God has opened every door and provided every gift He holds in His storehouse for us through Jesus. God has created for us a way out of the past and into the realm of the new He has made. He wants us to see, understand, and embrace all He has for us. In what was once a wilderness, He makes a way and what once was a wasteland, He creates a stream. That, my friends, opens up the doors for us to not only set new and exciting goals for our lives, but actually see them come true. Listen to The Message Bible's version of this passage: “Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Declare this with me: I will forget the former things; I will not dwell on the past. I will see the new thing that God is doing! He is making a way in my wilderness and a stream in my wasteland. (from Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV) Let's commit this to prayer: “Father, thank You for the new thing You are doing in my life. I receive it and want to see it happen. Bring Your way, create Your stream, through my life to live as You desire and designed me to live. As above, so below.”

Text: Hebrews 10 Theme: In one of the most often quoted passages in the book of Hebrews, we find a challenge and an opportunity. This week we'll take a deep dive into both. Key Verses: Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV) “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Message Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49282963
Honor: The currency of the miraculous What is honor? To esteem To Value To give respect to To honor someone is to value them highly or bestow value on them What does the bible say about honor? Romans 12:9-10 ESV 9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Philippians 2:3 ESV Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Who should we honor? 1 Timothy 1:17 NIV Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 6:1-3 NIV Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Leviticus 19:32 AMP You shall rise before the gray-headed and honor the aged, and you shall fear your God [with profound reverence]; I am the Lord. Romans 13:1-3 NIV Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. So the bible tell us to honor: God Our Parents The elderly Those in authority Our Spiritual Leaders 1 Timothy 5:17 ESV Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. Mark 6:4-5 And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” 5 And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. Key take aways: When Honor Goes up, miracles Go up. When Honor goes down, miracles go down The anointing you honor is the anointing you will receive from Honor is never for the person you are honoring. Gratitude is a part of honor. Gratitude is never silent. Say the right thing in the right way at the right time. Brian Priebe | Executive Pastor | June 16, 2024 Matthew 12:34b-35 (NIV)For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. Matthew 15:18 (NIV)But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. Psalm 19:14 (NIV)May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Romans 10:9 (NIV)If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Matthew 12:36-37 (NIV)“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” James 3:9-10 (NIV)With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Colossians 4:6 (NIV)Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer every one. Conversation Characteristics that Represent a Healthy Heart: 1. Full of Grace Proverbs 16:24 (NIV)Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 15:1(NIV)A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Luke 4:22 (NIV)All spoke well of him, and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. 2. Seasoned with salt Proverbs 12:18The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 2 Timothy 4:2 (NIV)Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 3. Know how to answer everyone Proverbs 12:25 (NIV)Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. Ephesians 4:29a (NIV)Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs… Reflection Questions: 1. Share a time where you asked yourself 'Why did I say that?' in reaction to a conversation.2. Read Matthew 12:34b-35 and Matthew 15:18. When we reflect on our words and say, 'Why did I say that?', where do those words come from?3. Read Matthew 12:36-37 and James 3:9-10. Why do our words matter?4. Read Col. 4:6. What does a conversation full of grace look like?5. What does a conversation seasoned with salt feel like?6. What does it mean to have an answer for everyone?7. If you were to analyze your conversations in light of Col 4:6, what would be the area you feel most comfortable with? How about the least comfortable with? Message for 06/16/2024 "Jesus is Interruptible" by Justin McTeer. *All verses are NLT unless otherwise noted* Hebrews 13:8-9a - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Matthew 14:1-13a - When Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, heard about Jesus, 2 he said to his advisers, “This must be John the Baptist raised from the dead! That is why he can do such miracles.” 3 For Herod had arrested and imprisoned John as a favor to his wife Herodias (the former wife of Herod's brother Philip). 4 John had been telling Herod, “It is against God's law for you to marry her.” 5 Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of a riot, because all the people believed John was a prophet. 6 But at a birthday party for Herod, Herodias's daughter performed a dance that greatly pleased him, 7 so he promised with a vow to give her anything she wanted. 8 At her mother's urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!” 9 Then the king regretted what he had said; but because of the vow he had made in front of his guests, he issued the necessary orders. 10 So John was beheaded in the prison, 11 and his head was brought on a tray and given to the girl, who took it to her mother. 12 Later, John's disciples came for his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus what had happened. 13 As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. Matthew 14:13-14a - As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. 14 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat… Matthew 14:13-14 - As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. 14 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Jesus is Interruptible Mark 2:1-5 - When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home. 2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching God's word to them, 3 four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat.4 They couldn't bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. 5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” Matthew 19:13-15 - One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” 15 And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left. Luke 8:41-48 - Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus' feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” 47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” Philippians 2:1-5 NIV - Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Hebrews 1:3a NIV - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. Hebrews 4:16 NIV - Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Seven Days Pt. 5 | March 24th, 2024Pastor Wes Morris Hebrews 12:2-4 (MSG) Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! ✓ BETRAYEDJohn 18:1-3 (NIV) When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it. Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples. So Judas came to the garden, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees.✓ RIDICULEDMatthew 26:63-65 (NIV) The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.” ...Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. ✓ REJECTEDJohn 18:25-27 (NIV) Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him, “You aren't one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying, “I am not.” One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, “Didn't I see you with him in the garden?” Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.✓ ABUSEDMatthew 27:27-32 (NIV) Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.Hebrews 2:18 (TLB) For since he himself has now been through suffering and temptation, he knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted, and he is wonderfully able to help us.Hebrews 12:2-3 (NIV) Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. THE FINAL WORDI. BE QUICK TO FORGIVE.Luke 23:32-34 (NIV) Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” II. SURRENDER YOUR LIFE AND YOUR SITUATION TO GOD. Luke 23:44-46 (NIV) It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. Learn more about Bay Chapel at baychapel.com

Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Bengtson podcast
Episode Summary: Some people refer to ingratitude as a disease. This gives a false impression. Marketing encourages dissatisfaction with what we have. Political parties encourage us to feel as if we aren't getting our fair share. We are a nation drenched in entitlement and deficient in gratitude for what we do have. Many of us live as if we don't have enough. This attitude leaves us feeling left out. According to my guest today, an attitude of gratefulness changes our perspective. The more we focus on ourselves, the less we develop an attitude of appreciation for what we do have. Today we're going to be talking about how to be grateful. Quotables from the episode: I discovered the life-changing power of saying ‘thank you' to God no matter what the circumstance? Gratitude changes everything even when it seems nothing is changing. We change most through suffering. As we grow in our knowledge of who God is through his Word, we grow more confident of his faithfulness and promises to provide for our every need. As I rest in God's perfect provision for myself, I am then able to go out and meet your needs in a more robust and faith-driven way because I can “forget” about myself and seek to minister to you and others. What I learned about myself was I needed to keep my focus on Him…not on the news, not overly focused on politics, not on trying to control outcomes…but focus on Jesus…one day at a time. And I learned personally that the more I gave thanks…the more emotionally level I became. Trusting God! Choosing Gratitude! It's making an impact on how we think and live. He is working to redeem and restore our losses by transforming us into the image of Christ. Determine to make time alone with the Lord a top priority because each of needs to have our thoughts renewed daily and in this fallen world that is becoming increasingly evil…we need it all the more. God's Word is the powerful change agent that changes each of us from the inside out. Scripture References: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15: 57 NIV But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 3: 15 NIV Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Episode Summary: Have you ever been treated unkindly? We live in a world that values kindness but struggles to actually be kind. Today it seems that division runs amuck and people have forgotten how to treat each other with kindness and respect, even when we disagree with them. But kindness can change a heart, change someone's mind, and change a world. Greg Atkinson and I talk about making the world a better place with 10 keys to kindness. Quotables from the episode: We live in a world that values kindness but struggles to actually be kind. We have the power within us to be extraordinarily kind, to be the people of God we were meant to be, to demonstrate over-the-top kindness that goes the extra mile. We must learn to tap into that secret place within us where kindness, love, and peace dwell. Bad things happens when you're not intentional. Kindness begins with forgiveness, both for yourself and others. How you deal with the trauma and pain in your life—including how you respond to it—will shape your life presently and in the future. You can become bitter or better. Kindness is the remedy, and forgiveness is the antidote. Kindness is contagious. Kindness unlocks kindness. Kindness is the prerequisite for making a difference. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” 1 Peter 4:10 NLT You gotta believe you got it! “It takes many parts to make a single body. That's why the eyes cannot say they don't need the hands. That's also why the head cannot say it doesn't need the feet. In fact, we cannot get along without the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest. We take special care to dress up some parts of our bodies. We are modest about our personal parts, but we don't have to be modest about other parts. God put our bodies together in such a way that even the parts that seem the least important are valuable. He did this to make all parts of the body work together smoothly, with each part caring about the others. If one part of our body hurts, we hurt all over. If one part of our body is honored, the whole body will be happy. Together you are the body of Christ. Each one of you is part of his body.” 1 Corinthians 12:20-27 CEV “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. The heart is being formed in such a way that its natural expression comes to be the deeds of Christ done in the power of Christ. Matthew 5:16 NIVLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Redeemer exists to see Christ exalted in our church, community, and world.1. Church1 Peter 4:10 NIVEach of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. 2. Community1 John 4:20-21 NIVWhoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 3. WorldHebrews 10:23-25 NIV“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Matthew 28:18-20 NIVThen Jesus came to them and said,“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Sermon Notes How do you know if you found "the one"? One of the beauties of early relationships is the pursuit of the other person. Song of Songs 1:9 NIV I liken you, my darling, to a mare among Pharaoh's chariot horses. Song of Songs 1:10 NIV Your cheeks are beautiful with earrings, your neck with strings of jewels. Song of Songs 1:11 NIV We will make you earrings of gold, studded with silver. Song of Songs 1:12 NIV While the king was at his table, my perfume spread its fragrance. Song of Songs 1:13 NIV My beloved is to me a sachet of myrrh resting between my breasts. Song of Songs 1:14 NIV My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms from the vineyards of En Gedi. Song of Songs 1:15 NIV How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves. All of this intense pursuit and conversation back and forth creates the perfect scenario for explosive passion! Song of Songs 1:16 NIV How handsome you are, my beloved! Oh, how charming! And our bed is verdant. Song of Songs 1:17 NIV The beams of our house are cedars; our rafters are firs. Song of Songs 2:1 NIV I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. Song of Songs 2:2 NIV Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women. Song of Songs 2:3 NIV Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. "The woman felt completely safe in Solomon's presence: "I sat down in his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste" (Song 2: 3). She was entirely at ease with Solomon. She experienced no threatening or unsettling moments in his presence. The apostle Paul told us that a man should nourish and cherish his wife. (See Eph. 5: 29.) The woman experienced that in their premarital relationship. In his "shade," she was cherished. By his "fruit," she was nourished. And note: this must start before marriage. Never trust a future mate to do a turnaround after marriage." - Tommy Nelson, The Book of Romance: What Solomon Says About Love, Sex, and Intimacy What would happen in your relationship today if you were to use your words to make the other feel totally safe? Song of Songs 2:4 NIV Let him lead me to the banquet hall and let his banner over me be love. Song of Songs 2:5-6 NIV Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me. Song of Songs 2:7 NIV Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires. The same God who created a passion for marriage also created the power for restraint until it's time. 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. James 4:4b-5 NIV Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? James 4:6 NIV But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." James 4: 7-8 NIV Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:9-10 NIV Grieve, mourn, and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Father in Heaven, I know you are here with me. I know you love me. I know you want what is best for me, and I believe that all your ways are good. I have not always resisted temptation when I knew I should. I have sinned against you, and I confess this to you. I ask you to forgive me, heal me, and take away my sin in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen
Walking in Faith: Abraham's Obedience and its Relevance TodayLet's imagine you're on a road trip. You've meticulously planned your route, dotted your Is, and crossed your T's. But as you're driving, your GPS suddenly instructs you to make an unexpected turn. Confused and uncertain, would you follow its guidance? Today, we're going to explore a similar experience in the life of Abraham and its implications for our own journey of faith. The scripture that underpins our sermon today is from Genesis 12:1 (NIV): "The Lord had said to Abram, 'Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you.'"1. Abraham's Call and Obedience: Abraham was instructed to leave everything familiar—his country, his people, and his father's house. Yet he did not hesitate or negotiate with God. He packed up his family and his belongings, and he embarked on a journey to an unknown destination simply because God told him to (Genesis 12:4-5). This obedience was credited to him as faith.2. Abraham's Faith in Promises: God promised Abraham that He would make him into a great nation, bless him, and make his name great. Despite having no child at that time and his wife Sarai being barren, Abraham believed God's promise (Genesis 15:5–6). His trust in God was not dependent on his circumstances but on the One who made the promise.3. Abraham's Faith Tested: The pinnacle of Abraham's faith journey was when God asked him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. This was the son through whom God had promised to fulfil His words to Abraham. Despite the seeming impossibility of the situation, Abraham's faith did not waver, demonstrating that his confidence was in God and not in the promise (Genesis 22:1–18).Abraham's Legacy and Our Walk of Faith: The life of Abraham teaches us that walking in faith means trusting God's directions even when the destination is not clear, believing in His promises despite our circumstances, and keeping our faith in God even when our understanding is limited. The writer of Hebrews affirms this when he says, "Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1, NIV)Let's bow our heads in prayer:"Heavenly Father, we thank You for the example of Abraham's faith. Help us to trust in Your guidance, believe in Your promises, and maintain our faith in You regardless of the circumstances. May we walk in obedience as Abraham did, fully assured that what You have promised, You are able also to perform. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."As you leave this place, may the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Let the faith of Abraham inspire you to trust in God's perfect plan for your life, even when the road ahead seems uncertain. God bless you all.
Sermon Notes Is it better to choose your spouse or trust your family? Song of Songs 1:1 NIV "Solomon's Song of Songs." Song of Songs 1:2 NIV Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth — for your love is more delightful than wine. – The Woman 2 Corinthians 13:12 NIV Greet one another with a holy kiss. Song of Songs 1:3 NIV Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you! "Choose to be attracted to a person who is living out faith in an active, vibrant way — a true follower and disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, not just an occasional churchgoer." — Tommy Nelson, The Book of Romance: What Solomon Says About Love, Sex, and Intimacy Are you known as a person of Godly character? "So often today, girls will say about a guy, "He's a real hunk." The question begs to be asked, "A hunk of what?" There is nothing wrong with being handsome and appealing, but the real issue is not whether a man is good-looking but whether a man is looking for what is good in God's eyes. Nothing is more discouraging for a woman than to be married to a man whom she discovers later she would not want as a waiter." — Tommy Nelson, The Book of Romance: What Solomon Says About Love, Sex, and Intimacy Genesis 24:12-14 NIV Then he prayed, "Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too'—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this, I will know that you have shown kindness to my master." When was the last time you prayed for your spouse and trusted God was working on it for you? Genesis 24:15-21 NIV Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder… The woman was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again. The servant hurried to meet her and said, "Please give me a little water from your jar." "Drink, my Lord," she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. After she had given him a drink, she said, "I'll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink." So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels. Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful. Look for a spouse whose words and actions line up. Be cautious when they don't. Song of Songs 1:5-6 NIV Dark am I, yet lovely, daughters of Jerusalem, dark like the tents of Kedar, like the tent curtains of Solomon. Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun. My mother's sons were angry with me and made me take care of the vineyards; my own vineyard I had to neglect. Song of Songs 1:7 NIV Tell me, you whom I love, where you graze your flock and where you rest your sheep at midday. Why should I be like a veiled woman beside the flocks of your friends? Do NOT be willing to compromise on your convictions! Song of Songs 1:8 NIV If you do not know, most beautiful of women, follow the tracks of the sheep and graze your young goats by the tents of the shepherds. Look for a spouse who supports and honors you like Jesus does His children. Psalm 78:52-53 NIV But he brought his people out like a flock; he led them like sheep through the wilderness. He guided them safely, so they were unafraid…

Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 103 will be the last Psalm! I mean for now. I have no plans to do any more psalms at this time, but never say never, you know. While I was studying this, I just felt like it was the perfect one to end on. I think you will understand why as we dig into it. From here we will go into the New Testament! Matthew here we come! This psalm is all about how much God loves us and what the benefits of that are. David begins and ends this psalm with praise. “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.” NIV“Let all that I am praise the Lord.” NLT“Praise the Lord with my whole life.” PassionKeep learning:Follow along with the full show notes on the website Listen to this week's playlist on Apple MusicRecommended Bibles (if you purchase via these affiliate links, you will support Bible Talk!): NIV Chronological Study Bible, Hardcover NIV Life Application Study Bible The Passion Translation New Testament The Jesus Bible Artist Edition NLT Wide Margin Bible NET Full Notes Bible NRSV CS Lewis Bible NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible Mr. Pen Highlighters ---Check out the Nothin' But Fine blog and website.Follow us on social media: Instagram Facebook Twitter YouTube Want everything in your inbox? Hunter Biden's Sweet Deal and Trump's FOX Interview: Contrast and Compare. The DOJ's eight year long obsession with taking out Donald Trump has culminated with what we predicted it would: a criminal prosecution. For now, it is the document case, soon will come the prosecution for leading an “insurrection.” We cannot reasonably assess the latest move by the people who run Joe Biden by pretending the case against Trump stands in a vacuum or that it is about Trump at all. What is on trial, once again, is whether we have laws in America or laws for certain Americans. Where the DOJ has dug through every element of Trump's life, including lying to the un-American FISA Court to illegally gain permission to spy on his associates, the https://thefederalist.com/2023/06/20/did-the-fbi-prevent-delaware-agents-from-investigating-biden-bribery-allegations/ on which he evaded taxes. Do we have laws in America or laws for certain Americans? If President Trump did as the DOJ indictment claims--and no one has any reason to believe anything the DOJ says about Trump or Team Trump--and https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/06/trump-denies-having-or-showing-iran-attack-plans-contrary-to-indictment/, that was wrong and ill-considered. Not until after I recorded did I see https://archive.vn/IaXqe#selection-695.0-695.16 about the document case did I find a conservative with a large audience who thought President Trump helped himself with that discussion; https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/06/six-theses-on-the-trump-indictment-part-5.php. Funny thing, though, I cannot recall FOX Interviewing General Miley about his decision to commit treason by calling his counterpart the Chinese Communist Party Army to assure him that, if the elected civilian leader of America and the Commander-in-Chief of American Armed Forces gave an order to attack China, Miley would warn the CCP in advance. Nor do I remember the DOJ filing charges nor do I recall the Military's version of the DOJ prosecuting Miley. Trump is accused of flashing a document to a writer and a staffer and he faces a decade or more in prison; Miley admits his act of treason and he is still a General and still free to install Communist inspired Critical Theory into the fabric of our military. Do we have laws in America or laws for certain Americans? What does God's Word say? In America, we have as our ultimate law the Constitution. God demands it. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%2013%3A1-5&version=NIV Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”[a]6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.Episode 912 Links:- https://archive.vn/IaXqe#selection-695.0-695.16.- https://thefederalist.com/2023/06/19/how-did-biden-really-make-his-millions-its-time-for-a-special-counsel-to-find-out/- https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/alex-christy/2023/06/20/hunter-gets-indicted-msnbc-attacks-gop-hails-good-news-joe- https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/06/hunter-biden-pleading-guilty-to-firearm-felony-tax-misdemeanors/- https://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1671148726797180928.- https://twitter.com/tolmanbrett/status/1671150389591441415. - Brett Tolman, Executive Director of @RightonCrime. “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:13-18 NIV “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:9-21 ESV - We lift up and encourage one another... “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25 NIV - We intercede for one another... Richard foster writes… If we truly love people, we will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them, and his will lead us to prayer. Intercession is a way of loving others… intercessory prayer is selfless prayer, even self giving prayer. In the ongoing work of the kingdom of God, nothing is more important than intercessory prayer! Richard Foster ““Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”” Luke 22:31-33 NIV “So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.” Acts 12:5 NIV - We remind ourselves and others we are in this together... “When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”” John 21:15-19 ESV

There was an immediate bond between them, for Jonathan loved David. From that day on Saul kept David with him and wouldn't let him return home. And Jonathan made a solemn pact with David, because he loved him as he loved himself. 5 Whatever Saul asked David to do, David did it successfully. So Saul made him a commander over the men of war, an appointment that was welcomed by the people and Saul's officers alike. When the victorious Israelite army was returning home after David had killed the Philistine, women from all the towns of Israel came out to meet King Saul. They sang and danced for joy with tambourines and cymbals. This was their song:“Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands!”This made Saul very angry. “What's this?” he said. “They credit David with ten thousands and me with only thousands. Next they'll be making him their king!” So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David.(14-15) David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him. When Saul recognized this, he became even more afraid of him.√ PRIDE√ RESENTMENT√ FEARI Samuel 18:20-21 (MSG) Saul's daughter Michal was in love with David. When Saul was told of this, he rubbed his hands in anticipation. “Ah, a second chance. I'll use Michal as bait to get David out where the Philistines will kill him.” So again he said to David, “You're going to be my son-in-law.”James 4:1-2 (NLT) What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don't they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can't get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. A UNITED HOMEJohn 17:23 (MSG) The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, so they might be one heart and mind with us. Then the world might believe that you sent me.I. A CULTURE OF HONOR. Romans 12:9-10 (NIV) Let love be genuine. Hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.√ We believe the best.Philippians 2:3 (NLT) Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.√ We speak life-giving words. II. A HEART OF GRATITUDE. Psalm 138:2-3 (MSG) Thank you! Everything in me says “Thank you!” Angels listen as I sing my thanks. I kneel in worship and say it again: “Thank you!” Thank you for your love, thank you for your faithfulness; Most holy is your name, most holy is your Word. “If we put God first, allowing Him to impact our lives, His Word to be our Guide, and His Spirit to abide in us, then we're going to sow that into our children's lives and reap what we sow.” We continue our podcast series, Standing in the Gap, focusing on amazing intercessors in the Bible. Stacy welcomes Joy Moreau, former Moms in Prayer Appalachian Division Coordinator, who shares the importance of living a godly life as an example to our children. God knows we get discouraged and anxious at times, so we need to come to Him in prayer, listen, and be aware that He wants to speak to us. Joy gives us examples of how to do this through the minor prophets in the Bible. ABOUT OUR GUEST Joy Moreau has the gift of encouragement wrapped in the package of a gentle and quiet spirit. She has been involved in Moms in Prayer for more than 20 years and is the former Moms in Prayer Appalachian Division Coordinator. She leads a Bible study at her home church, University Hills Baptist, in Charlotte. The desire of her heart is for the lives of children to be so impacted for Christ that they follow Him all their days. She and her husband, Joe, reside in North Carolina and have three grown sons, two daughter in loves, and three grandchildren. SCRIPTURES And God spoke all these words: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:1-3 NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for your sins have brought you down. Bring your confessions, and return to the LORD. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.” Hosea 14:1-2 NLT “As my life was slipping away, I remembered the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone.” Jonah 2:7-9 NLT The Lord has shown you what is good. He has told you what he requires of you. You must act with justice. You must love to show mercy. And you must be humble as you live in the sight of your God. Micah 6:8 NIRV “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?' or ‘What shall we drink?' or ‘What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33 NKJV MOMS IN PRAYER · New to Moms in Prayer? A Bigger Life Prayer and Bible Devotionals with Pastor Dave Cover
My goal in this podcast — Christian Meditation for A Bigger Life — is to help 21st-century Christians in the always distracted digital age — to connect with God with your whole being — including your body — and to wire into your brain the reality of that embodied connection in each moment. And I think most of us as Christians are often living unconsciously anxious and tense lives with a kind of disconnection between our body and mind, and disconnection between our body and God's Spirit. Where our “Christian faith” has become almost exclusively about certain beliefs rather than an embodied experience with God's Spirit who is always 100% present with us and in us in the NOW. If your podcast app is set to skip the silent sections, disable that in your podcast app for this podcast. Hebrews 4:16 NIV “Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Luke 3:21-22 (ESV) “Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.'” Henri Nouwen — reflecting on how often we read that Jesus would get away on a mountain top to be alone with God the Father “Solitude is being with God and God alone. Is there any space for that in your life? Why is it so important that you are with God and God alone on the mountain top? It's important because it's the place in which you can listen to the voice of the One who calls you the beloved. To pray is to listen to the One who calls you "my beloved daughter," "my beloved son," "my beloved child." To pray is to let that voice speak to the center of your being, to your guts, and let that voice resound in your whole being. Who am I? I am the beloved. That's the voice Jesus heard when he came out of the Jordan River: ‘You are my beloved; on you my favor rests.' And Jesus says to you and to me that we are loved as he is loved. That same voice is there for you. When you are not claiming that voice, you cannot walk freely in this world.” Who can you share this podcast with?
