Getting up when knocked down. #3 The hurt that heals (Like a physical injury it takes time and proper discipline it will heal) By Pastor George Lehman No matter how far life pushes you down, no matter how much you hurt, you can always bounce back. Story of a man on an island: A man gets stranded on an island, spend hours praying for God to come to his rescue, He builds a hut out of every piece of plant material and wreckage he can find. He goes off to look for food after 4 weeks of being stranded and still trusting God to send help to save him. From a distance he suddenly sees smoke on the other side of the island. He thinks it's a boat that has come to rescue him and he starts running back to his humble little hut he build, just to find that it is his hut that is on fire! Distraught, he shouts and cries out to God why the only thing that protects me was allowed to burn, God why have you forsaken me?. Later, through his tears and cries of anguish, he hears something from a distance – it was a boat! Safely rescued and on the ship, He asked the people on board how they knew that he was there. They replied that they had seen the huge cloud of smoke coming from the island. Nobody likes to be hurt. Whether it is physical or mental. Pain can be traumatic. Throughout history, philosophers, religious thinkers and intellectuals have tried to decode pain. Medical researchers devote millions of dollars every year to find drugs to alleviate pain. Dealing with pain and hurt is an important part of growing up. We can all understand physical pain. However, emotional pain can be just as devastating, often more so! People react to pain differently. The anguish (angs) that results from emotional abuse, the loss of a loved one, a job termination, a friends' betrayal, divorce, disease, and disasters can make us physically sick and overwhelm us that we can barely function. (I know you know.) Many people question God, raising their faces and fists towards heaven and asking God, WHY? Hurting people tend to hurt people. It's so hard to believe that healing is possible when you are experiencing deep pain. Jesus understands your pain, whether you are ready to believe that or not. What sickness can we suffer that could equal the pain of the scourge* that Jesus went through for you and me? *(whip to inflict severe punishment or suffering). The pain of rejection (He came to His own but His own received Him not. Isaiah 53:3 (NIV) – He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. He was betrayed and carried the shame of the cross. Hebrews 12:2 (NIV) – Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. There is nothing we can go through that Jesus hasn't experienced so we can overcome! Hebrews 2:18 (Amp) – For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering]. Our hurts and sufferings give us a new ability to demonstrate the compassion we receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (Amp) – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement), Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God. (This tells us God comes to the rescue) When you're stuck in a bad place physically or emotionally, pain can point us toward true healing. I want to encourage you to consider the following steps designed to move you through and beyond the process of hurts to healing growth. It will work if you give this a chance. #1 Invite the pain in. Many of us are programmed as kids to believe it's wrong to display emotion. ---- We learn to bury the evidence of painful feelings. The problem with suppressing our pain, it shows up in a variety of forms. Anger, anxiety, frustration, depression, sleeplessness, irritability, headaches and more. It affects our relationships and leads to isolation. It takes courage to open yourself to your hurts. You open the way for God to bring healing to your life. Self-pity comes when you lose the intimacy with Jesus. 1 Peter 2:19 (NIV) – For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. #2 Find someone to talk with. Often the best way to deal with inner turmoil is to talk about it. Identify a friend or a mentor someone who will listen without judging or giving you super spiritual advice. A problem shared is a problem halved. #3 Don't rush major decisions. Pain and grief exert enormous pressure on our emotions. In the midst of suffering, it's not a good time to make important or permanent life's decisions. What you're going through will pass – you don't want to create further hurt by making wrong decisions. #4 Trust God to bring good from your hurt. 1 Samuel 30:4(Amp) – Then David and the men with him lifted up their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep. 1 Samuel 30:6 (Amp) – David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God. Those of us who believe in God often blame Him for our troubles and pain. God does not promise His followers a pain free existence. Jesus told His disciples… John 16:33 (Amp) – I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] NB!!!! Many believe and have the view that it means: deliverance from trouble - No it's deliverance in trouble. God does not give us an overcoming life, He gives us life as we overcome. The strain is the strength, no strain, no strength, no perseverance, no endurance, no pain no gain. Paul to the Thessalonica church… 1 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV) – So that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them. What then, is the purpose of our pain from God's perspective? God allows suffering to be a part of our lives to develop our faith, our character and spiritual condition. Paul asked the same question of God… 2 Corinthians 12:8 (NIV) – Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. (A messenger of Satan to torment Paul) God's answer… 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) – But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. One day I believe, we will discover that whatever the hurt, pain or sufferings were, were individually tailor made for us. I walked a mile with pleasure she chattered all the way but left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with sorrow and ne'er a word said she but oh, the things I learned from her when sorrow walked with me. All the hurt and trials and sufferings we are subjected to throughout our lifetime cannot be compared with the eternal life that awaits all God's children. Romans 8:17-18 (NIV) – Now if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. It's like a prick of a needle compared to the joy of eternity.

Finding Jesus in Unexpected Places // At the Disciple's Feet Matthew 20:28 (NIV)“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” John 13:1-17 (NIV)“It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, ‘Lord, are you going to wash my feet?' Jesus replied, ‘You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.' ‘No,' said Peter, ‘you shall never wash my feet.' Jesus answered, ‘Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.' ‘Then, Lord,' Simon Peter replied, ‘not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!' Jesus answered, ‘Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.' For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean. When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. ‘Do you understand what I have done for you?' he asked them. ‘You call me ‘Teacher' and ‘Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.'” Mark 9:34-35 (NIV)“But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 10:45 (NIV)“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Luke 22:21-27 (NIV)“But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this. A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. Jesus said to them, ‘The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.'” Mark 4:9 (NIV), Matt 11:15 (NIV)Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” Some Keys to Servanthood: 1. Serving like Jesus means we move in humility, take action on behalf of others.Phil 2:8 (NIV)“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death.” 2. Serving like Jesus means we engage compassionately.Matthew 9:36 (NIV)“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” 3. Serving like Jesus means we must serve graciously.Luke 6:35 (NIV)“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Galatians 5:13 (NIV)“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” 4. Serving like Jesus, we must take time for people.1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” Let your doing be done for the sake of the doing, not to be seen!

Finding Jesus in Unexpected Places // Zacchaeus Luke 19:1-10 (NIV)“Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.' So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.' But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, ‘Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.' Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.'” Ephesians 4:22-25 (NIV)You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. Ephesians 4:28-5:1,2 (NIV)“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others upaccording to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Let us imitate Christ and have the mind of Christ.Ephesians 5:1 (NIV)“Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children.” Philippians 2:1-11 (NIV)“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Keys to a Transformed Life Deny Self Matthew 16:24 (NIV) “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'” Walk in the Light Ephesians 5:8-10 (NIV) “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists of all goodness, righteousness, and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.” Cast Off Hindrances Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Fix Our Eyes on ChristHebrews 12:2-3 (NIV)“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

You don't need to be in the _________________ to be in the _________________.[Luke 8:1-3] Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, [2] along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; [3] Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.Don't settle for being a ___________ in the crowd when you can be part of the _________________.[Matthew 6:21 NIV] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Joanna wasn't just a _________________, she was a _________________.[Luke 6:38] Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."Faithful _________________ is never wasted.[Luke 24:1-2, 5, 10] But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. Called to HOLINESS #4 By Pastor George Lehman Revelation 3:2-3(Amp) – 2Rouse yourselves and keep awake and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight. 3So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. In case you will not rouse yourselves and keep awake and watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and you will not know or suspect at what hour I will come. Those who look to Him are radiant, their faces are never covered with shame. - Psalm 34:5 (King David) RADIANT LIKE THIS: Years ago, when 20th Century Fox advertised in the New York papers to fill a vacancy in its sales force, one applicant replied: “I am at present selling furniture at the address below. You may judge my ability as a salesman if you will stop in to see me at anytime, pretending that you are interested in buying furniture. When you come in, you can identify me by my red hair. And I will have no way of identifying you. Such salesmanship as I exhibit during your visit, therefore, will be no more than my usual workday approach and not a special effort to impress a prospective employer.” From among more than 1500 applicants, this guy got the job. ARE YOU READY? We have been called to a life of Holiness everyday because you never know who is watching you. And know this God is watching all the time!! Ephesians 1:4 (NIV) - “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 2 Timothy 1:9 (NIV) - “He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, And still after 3 sermons on “Called to holiness”, God continues to challenge our relationship with Him. It's so clear that these scriptures tell us what God has saved and called us too!! - they are not optional. “Holiness” is not for an elite few. It is possible for you to walk purely before the Lord. Luke 12:32 – Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your FATHER'S good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. For each generation a “little flock” receives the Kingdom – and are set apart. They go on to fulfill the purpose by God for their generation. Question to us: What about you, child of God – how would you sum up your lifestyle for adding value to this generation – letting His Kingdom come? Everyone who is purifying themselves, even as He is pure, is part of that “little flock”. 1 John 3:3 (Amp) – And everyone who has this hope (resting) on him, cleanses (purifies) himself, just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless). No bible believing Christian doubts the importance of Holiness. 2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV) – Since we have these promises dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that Contaminates* body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. *Contaminate = pollute, infect [Afrikaans = besoedel, besmet) Like sewage in clear drinking water. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 - 23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. God's desire is for us to be wholly Holy. The Bible commands us to be Holy (not suggests). Leviticus 19:2 (Amp) – “Say to all the assembly of the Israelites; [Bikers church] you shall be Holy for I the Lord your God am Holy” 1 John 4:17 – As He is, so are we in this world 1 Peter 2:9(CEV) – But you are God's chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation; God has brought you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Now you must tell all the wonderful things He has done. Story of the young boy who had to stay in class and finish his math test. So, he just filled in any answers – obviously it was all wrong. He had to do it at home. When his dad asked him why he got it all wrong – he said, “nobody is perfect”. Like the bumper stickers even say “Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven” – OR “we're just human” (we all make mistakes, we all fail). Taking it, a bit further super spiritual people quote 1 John 1:8 – If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. This sums up so many times why people reject their “Calling to Holiness.” They make excuses to fail and sin. Is Holiness really that important, maybe it's only for a select few. Matthew 24:4 (Amp) – Be careful that no one misleads you (deceiving you and leading you into error). Five times in the next 22 verses in Mt 24: Jesus repeated His warning. Can I just say this: It's not the absence of sin that produces Holiness. Many non-Christians live clean, upright lives – which you can't fault. Holiness comes from the presence of God in our lives. “Christ in us is our Holiness”. The truth is – as close as our relationship is with Him, to that same degree we reflect His Holiness. Jesus said: Matthew 5:16 – Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works. This light is non-other than the out-raying glory and purity of God. People see God in us. If good works glorify God, then bad works bring Him dishonor. When we're not walking in “Holiness”, sin rules our lives and our credibility to witness is LOST. The world is sick and tired of hearing one thing and seeing another. How do I know when to witness: 1 Peter 3:15(Amp) - “Called to Holiness” – But in your hearts set Christ apart as Holy (and acknowledge Him as Lord) (when I get this part right then part B follows) Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you. Sadly, so many Christians publicly sin in the workplace where most of us spend 8-18 hours a day. They lose their temper, do bad work, they're often late or heard complaining about the boss or their job. They have bad attitudes, yet they still witness. Titus 1:16A (Amp) – They profess to know God (to recognize, perceived and be acquainted with Him) but they deny and disown and renounce Him, by what they do. This to sums up this series “Called to Holiness” – the real evidence [bewys] of Holiness is increasing in “Christ likeness” in which the image of God is increasingly visible in a believer's life. Here's the challenge - what are you going to do about living your “Calling to Holiness? CLOSE: 1 Peter 1:15 (Amp) – But as the One who called you is Holy, you yourselves must also be Holy in all your conduct and manner of living. Luke 1:74-75(Amp) – 74To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our foes, might serve Him fearlessly 75in holiness (divine consecration) and righteousness [in accordance with the everlasting principles of right] within His presence all the days of our lives. Your lifestyle MUST clearly be HOLY!
Today, Stasi invites us to step into the healing of our past as we learn to see our stories through the eyes of Jesus—with kindness, not shame. Through reflections on forgiveness, restoration, and God's unwavering love, we'll discover that it's not our history that defines us—it's Jesus who does. He invites us to remember our stories with mercy and receive his healing in the places that still ache. Join us as we walk together into his presence, where true healing occurs.…..SHOW NOTES:…..VERSES: John 14:27 (NIV) – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,Act 17:28 (NIV) – For in him we live and move and have our being.'As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.'Philippians 3:12 (NIV) – Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) – Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) – For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:1 (NIV) – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,Isaiah 61:1 (NIV) – The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. Called to HOLINESS #2 We must seek a level of holiness that brings the Glory of God into our lives. Discuss what is Holiness: Holiness is not: Being perfect, never sinning, never being tempted to sin its: To be different Set apart To fulfill His purpose To live our lives in a way that reflects God's glory John 1:14(Amp) – And the word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honour, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favour, loving-kindness) and truth. Ephesians 1:4 (NIV) - For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love Glory of God is prioritizing His honor, beauty, and magnificence above all else in your life. It involves aligning your actions, words, and thoughts with His will and purpose, ultimately reflecting His character and demonstrating His love and power to the world. It means choosing to glorify Goid in all you do, rather than seeking personal glory or recognition. This might involve saying no to opportunities that would bring you praise but not glorify God. John 5:44 - How is it possible for you to believe [how can you learn to believe], you who [are content to seek and] receive praise and honor and glory from one another, and yet do not seek the praise and honor and glory which come from Him Who alone is God? This is a Crossroad scripture - Start good, end bad Galatians 3:2-3 - “I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? For so many Christians: They display a spirituality to impress man – compromising your values and principles to fit in with the ungodly. Seeking honor and recognition from others – wanting validation from man. Living to appear righteous As long as you are being patted, recognized, praised and fussed about and the honor and glory is flowing then… you are a happy Christian. Can one honestly say you are walking near to God when your motivation is the praise of man? Here's a clear sign: We know we are relating correctly to God when our hunger for His glory makes us forsake the praise of man. Greek for Glory is “Doxa”: Glory is: to please – to be of a good reputation – to give honor – full of grace – love – kindness and truth Hebrew for Glory is “Kavod”. To show much splendor [prag, praal]. “A life of Holiness” is seeking to please God and seek His Glory. John 5:44 – how is it possible for you to believe, when you thrive on being recognized and praised by one another. Jesus said it – Luke 16:15 -“He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God's sight. Who are you really trying to impress? When we truly desire a life of holiness – seeking God, no one will have to tell us to be humble, to convince us of our old natures – Colossians 3:2-7 - 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your[a] life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. 5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don't be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. Holiness comes from seeking His Glory - here's the promise: If you take time to meet with God, you will meet Him Jeremiah 29:13 (Amp) - “Then you will seek me, enquire for, and require me (as a vital necessity) and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” Psalm 27:8(Amp) – you have said, seek my face (enquire for and require my presence as your vital need) my heart says to you your face (your presence) Lord will I seek. As you touch Him, something will come alive in you. Your life will become significant. You'll become effective in all you do and say. People will be drawn to Jesus because of you. We are talking about “Called to Holiness”. The sad thing is many Christians have NO higher goal, NO greater aspiration than to live a normal in-effective, fairly boring Christian life. 1 Corinthians 3:3 – Paul rebuked the church in Corinth because they walked “LIKE mere man”. (A holy life is a set apart life) He asks – where is the holiness – difference?. Listen – God has so much more for us than just becoming better people. Romans 8:11 – He wants to flood our lives with the same power that raised Christ from the dead. If we are going to be Holy, we must break away from desiring just an average life. We must seek a level of Holiness that brings the Glory of God into our lives. Jonathan Edwards – 18th century revivalist: ”Grace is but glory begun, and glory is but grace perfected.” The means to holiness is grace. Holiness is a product of grace. You may be thinking, I'll never achieve this teaching in my condition. Then you have only heard half the message. Grace is in the heart of all Gods' truth. Truth without grace is only half-true. John 1:17 - Grace and truth are in JESUS. For while the law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ. What God's truth demands, His grace will provide. Romans 6:22 – But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in Holiness and its end is eternal life. “Holiness is a lifestyle” Seeking to walk close to the Glory of God. Holiness is doing all within one's power to become more like Jesus. 2 Corinthians 3:18(Amp) – And all of us, as with unveiled face [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from on degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
Finding Jesus in Unexpected Places // The Human Womb Isaiah 7:14 (NIV)“Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (God with us)” Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” Colossians 2:9 (NIV)“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” Colossians 1:15-22 (NIV)“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.” Isaiah 40:12,15 (NLT)“Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale? … For all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.” John 1:1-4 (NLT)“In the beginning, the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.” Luke 1:30-39 (NIV)“But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacobʼs descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.' ‘How will this be,' Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?' The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.' ‘I am the Lordʼs servant,” Mary answered. ‘May your word to me be fulfilled.' Then the angel left her. At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea.” Luke 1:41-42 (NIV)“When Elizabeth heard Maryʼs greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!'” Luke 1:44-45 (NIV)“As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” Hebrews 4:15-16 (AMP)“For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God's gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” John 1:14 (NIV)The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (MSG)“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son.” John 1:9-11 (NIV)“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.”

Then GODspoke to him: “Get up and go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I've instructeda woman who lives there, a widow, to feed you.” 10-11 So he got up and went toZarephath. As he came to the entrance of the village he met a woman, a widow, gathering firewood. He asked her, “Please, would you bring me a little water in ajug? I need a drink.” As she went to get it, he called out, “And while you're at it,would you bring me something to eat?” 12 She said, “I swear, as surely as yourGOD lives, I don't have so much as a biscuit. I have a handful of flour in a jar and alittle oil in a bottle; you found me scratching together just enough firewood tomake a last meal for my son and me. After we eat it, we'll die.” 13-14 Elijah saidto her, “Don't worry about a thing. Go ahead and do what you've said. But firstmake a small biscuit for me and bring it back here. Immeasurably More// Faith Under Fire// March 30, 2025Ephesians 6:10-20 (NIV)“Finally, BE STRONG in the Lord and in the strength of HIS MIGHT. Put on the full armor of God so we can take our stand against the devil's schemes because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers and against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV)“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does…On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”Isaiah 59:14-17 (NIV)“So, justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene, so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.” The armor is about confidence in God's ability to hold all those elements of the armor true and together. The Helmet is His Salvation Isaiah 12:2 (NIV)“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” The Breastplate is His RighteousnessPhilippians 3:8-9 (NIV)“What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.” The Belt is His TruthPsalm 33:4 (KJV)“For the word of the LORD is right, and all His work is done in truth.” Ephesians 4:14 (NIV)“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.” The Sword of the Spirit is His WordHebrews 4:12 (NIV) “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The Shoes are His Gospel of PeaceIsaiah 52:7 (NIV)“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” The gospel is meant to be peace with God and peace with one another. The Shield of FaithFaith is deliberate confidence in the character of God.Faith is not about my ability to believe but it's about His ability to BE.His unfailing character and person. Faith is not about my ability to believe but it's about His ability to BE. John 14:26,27 (NIV)“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you…Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Welcome to the podcast! In this episode, I discuss the vital importance of forgiveness in achieving true freedom and liberation. Forgiving others not only heals our hearts but also releases us from the burdens of anger and resentment, allowing us to reclaim our peace and strength. It frees us from the enemy and allows to so grow closer to God for his Plan and Provision to be received. Join Me as I explore how embracing forgiveness can lead to profound personal transformation, helping us break free from the chains that hold us back. My hope today is that this helps you release the strongholds that might be upon you so that you may enter a space of freedom through God's works.
Christmas Eve – No More Darkness Isaiah 8:21-22 (NIV)“Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.” Isaiah 9:2,6 (NIV)“The people walking in darknesshave seen a great light;on those living in the land of deep darknessa light has dawned…For to us a child is born,to us a son is given.” Luke 2:8-10 (NIV)“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” The Light of Christ: 1.Reveals the Truth about God and Salvation. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 8:32 (NLT)“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 2.Seeks and Saves the Lost. Luke 19:10 (NIV)“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Matthew 20:28 (NIV)“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 3.Illuminates Your Path and Guides Your Steps. John 8:12 (NLT)“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness.” 4.Brings Healing in Your Life. Luke 4:18 (NIV)“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisonersand recovery of sight for the blind,to set the oppressed free.” Psalm 147:3 (NIV)“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” John 1:4-5 (NIV)“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. Pastor Angela shares a message on biblical remembrance. Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Judges 2:10 NIV And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel. 1 Corinthians 1:5-7 NIV For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge—God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 1 Corinthians 10:11 NLT These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. To forget a person is to lose touch with the story of the relationship and all it meant in the past and should still mean now. - Christopher J. H. Wright “To be without a story is to live without any sort of script that might help us to know who we are and what we're about. We flail and meander. We frantically try on roles and identities to see if they fit… to see yourself in the story is to have a name, a backstory, a project - all of which serve as rails to run on, something stable and given we can count on.” - James K. A. Smith Romans 12:1-2 NIV Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.Philippians 1:8 (NIV) — God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 (NIV) — Instead, we were like young children[a] among you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.John 2:24 (NIV) — But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.…..RESOURCES:Beautiful Outlaw: Experiencing the Playful, Disruptive, Extravagant Personality of Jesus by John Eldredge https://amzn.to/4dFyf8ACaptivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredgehttps://wahe.art/3L9tLMcTodd Pierce (horse ministry) RidingHighMinistries.org…..Don't Miss Out on the Next Episode – Subscribe for FreeSubscribe using your favorite podcast app:Spotify Podcasts – https://spoti.fi/42SsOipApple Podcasts – https://apple.co/42E0oZ1 Google Podcasts – http://wahe.art/3M81kxLAmazon Music & Audible – https://amzn.to/3M9u6hJ

Gospel Scripture: (all NIV) Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:24 “and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:25 (a) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.” Hebrews 9:22 (b) “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:11 “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Luke 15:10 says “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 1:13–14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Faith is not the absence of fear, it's the presence of trust in the midst of fear. Faith in God doesn't eliminate fear, it overrides fear; this can be seen when God is speaking to Joshua as he is trying to lead the Israelite people. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
In moments of darkness when you feel lost, desperate, and overwhelmed, Jesus stands by your side, offering light, hope, and healing. As you embrace the light and experience transformation in your life, you'll be empowered to extend that same healing and hope to others with Jesus by your side. “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.' So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” (Mark 5:18-20 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God.'” The verb in the ancient Hebrew (that this was originally written in) for “be still” can also be translated as, “let go; relax; let drop.” We can let go of our tension and self-guarding in our body when we remember to “know” what it means that God is God. Psalm 100:3 (NIV) “Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his.” Psalm 100:5 NIV “For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Who can you share this podcast with? Want to impress God or want to truly amaze Jesus? Then, be humbled, surrender, and recognize the authority of God's word. “When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, ‘I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.' Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.” (Luke 7: 9-10 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
The Centurion Soldier mentioned in Luke 7 wasn't a flawless religious figure, yet he profoundly understood true authority and leadership. He recognized the extraordinary power within Jesus because both leaders grasped the importance of valuing individuals regardless of their position in society. “So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: ‘Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.'” (Luke 7:6-7 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
