Peer pressure can have a profound impact on tweens and the decisions we make. Peer pressure can be positive, and it can be negative. Positive peer pressure helps mold us into the best versions of ourselves, while negative peer pressure does the opposite. Negative peer pressure happens when you feel pressured to do something that makes you uncomfortable; often, you are being pushed to do things you're not ready for. Tweens often fall victim to peer pressure because we're so desperate to fit in or be accepted. However, when we give in to negative peer pressure we often feel horrible about our decision because it goes against our morals and beliefs. In this episode, I will discuss the difference between positive and negative peer pressure and give you some easy strategies you can use next time you feel backed into a corner by a peer and don't know how to get out.
