Listeners of The Movie Cellar that love the show mention:The Movie Cellar podcast is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for any movie lover. The concept of the show is unique and refreshing, as the hosts delve into their VHS collection and discuss movies from yesteryear. This podcast succeeds in capturing the essence of movie nostalgia and delivers it with humor and charm.
One of the best aspects of The Movie Cellar podcast is the chemistry between the hosts. Their banter is witty, their commentary is hilarious, and they have a genuine camaraderie that shines through in every episode. Their energy and enthusiasm for movies are contagious, making it easy for listeners to get caught up in their infectious love for film.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the selection of movies they cover. They choose films that many listeners will have fond memories of but may not have seen in years. Bobby give some great suggestions of stuff to check out if you're feeling nasty (get it?!) and helps explain the value of these movies in the discussion of censorship and film history. So, I had the very awesome opportunity to attend the third annual George A Romero Foundation Pioneer Awards virtual ceremony this weekend and see them honor the late great Richard J Ricci, close friend and consistent collaborator of Romero since the very beginning. As part of this ceremony, they screened the premiere of a lost Romero short film. This was something that Ricci and Romero worked on before Night of the Living Dead, all the way back in 1962, and Ricci completed in the last months of his life. It was a really rare and special opportunity and I was so grateful to be there! Click here to connect with the George A Romero Foundation
Another night of Cagemas, another gift for you Cellar Dwellers, tonight we're joined by Jack Thorne from The Reel Thing podcast, a great friend of the show and current King of #VHS4T1D with a recent $250 donation, to talk about Color Out of Space, the 2019 adaptation of the H.P. This is it, you Cellar Dwelling scum, our last episode of the #UPickEm Season, and we're stoked about the movie pick, and stoked about our very exciting guest! Give it a listen, tune in over the next couple months for a bunch of dope bonus episodes, and come back soon for season three, coming very soon!
Welcome to our first attempt at doing something a little different. This bonus series is called Get Me in the Door, and the goal is to introduce the Cellar Dwellers to a variety of fandoms, properties, and activities that have very dedicated fans/followers, but seem really hard to get into from the outside. This series will be focused on encouraging newcomers to check out these things that we love, and assuming it sounds like something you find interesting, our guest will explain how you can get in the door. Whether it is a movie franchise, which movie to check out first, or a game, how to play, where to play, who to play with, or some other activitiy, basically we want our guests to show you where you can start to get in the door. It is the opposite of gatekeeping, we're asking these super fans to hold the door open for us and show us the way into the stuff they love. In this first attempt, we'll have our very own cohost, George, talking about Magic the Gathering, a card game, but so much more! Let us know what you think. Did George make you think you might wanna check out Magic? Do you have something you'd like to share with us about? Hit up our social media (@themoviecellar on insta, twitter, and FB or email us at themoviecellar@gmail.com) and let us know! Hope you dig it, and we'll be back next week to wrap up the #UPickEm season!

We're back for another installment in our Fast Fridays series, this week coming to you on Saturday morning, but still the same spirit! We recorded it on Friday night if that means anything to you, hypothetical person that cares when we release our episodes! Anyway, we're joined in this installment by a big crew, one to rival Dom's crew in Fast Five. We've got the funny guy: Danny, the smart kid: Lily, the classy dude: Zach, the overlord: Dan, and the guy who shows up: George. We could definitely pull a major heist with this crew, but instead we're just gonna talk about a movie, enjoy!
Hard to believe it, I know, but we honor new gods today, check out this short announcement to hear the beautiful and tragic story how this came about, to hear about what the JDRF has been up to with your donations, and to hear about the relaunch and reboot of #VHS4T1D. We're incredibly thankful to all of you who have and continue to donate to helping create a world without Type One Diabetes and we're so honored to use our stupid little platform to help promote and facilitate donations to the JDRF, who is doing incredible things! Much love to the #AlitaArmy who will always be part of the Cellar Dweller family and always have a spot on our show! Today we celebrate Crypto Keepers and their incredible generosity! If you want to donate and have us watch a movie for you, just hit up any of our socials for the link in the bio, or check out linktr.ee/themoviecellar and click "Donate to #VHS4T1D" or just follow this link directly to the donation page!
We're back with another installment in the #UPickEm season, and this time we're joined by everyone's favorite guest, Stephanie Louise! We talk about one of her favorite movies, X-Men, which sparks some great chat about mutant powers, the superhero film genre, and everyone's favorite X-Men!
We're back for the second half of our Fast Friday double header where we talk about the fourth installment in the series, the one that really seemed to nail the formula that they'll run with for the remainder of the franchise. They've got Dom, Brian and crew back together, and we've got Danny, George, Zach and Dan back together to talk about it. Hear what we think of the direction the franchise took with this film and what that means for the rest of the series!
We're back to Fast Fridays, and this week we're heading to Japan and discussing The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift! As the Fast franchise is about family, we decided to make this episode about family too, we've got a whole crew on this one: Dan, George, Zach and Danny! Hear our thoughts on the new cast of characters in this film, how it fits into the franchise, whether it fits in best or worst among the sequels, and furthermore hear us explain why George, as usual, is wrong about everything! Tune in later today for ANOTHER Fast Friday episode, let's end this summer with a bang!

Well, the calendar has turned to the 13th again, and this month it hits on a Friday! Hard to believe at this point that we're onto the seventh installment in this ridiculous series, hard to believe they even made this many of these films in Jason's legacy, but here we are! We've got a Jason vs Carrie wannabe showdown for the ages, and by the ages, I mean it's a wet fart of a movie, hope you enjoy and stay out of the lake this weekend!
A mediocre podcast about a couple mediocre movies, hope you love it!
This week we're joined by Nick and Jack from The Reel Thing podcast. You guys have heard Jack on the show a couple times, now he has his own show with our good friend Nick, and they jumped on to talk to us about the amazing recently unearthed lost Romero film, The Amusement Park. Horrifying and insightful, this film was commissioned to be a PSA from the Lutheran Church, about elder abuse and neglect, but Romero turned it into a nightmarish fever dream that will terrify you at the thought of aging! We get into all the glorious magic and insanity of this film, what critics think, what we think, what this does for Romero's legacy and if the film achieved the intended goal the Lutheran Church commissioned it for! If you're on the fence about checking out this newly released Romero film, then listen to us talk about it for 2+ hours, or just go spend 55 mins watching the movie on Shudder!
Yeah, we know it's the #UPickEm season, and yeah, we know we didn't let you pick our U movie, but hey, it's our show, so we're gonna do what we want! And, what we wanted to do was hang out with a couple of big Weird Al fans and talk about UHF, so that's what we did! We're joined by Ben and Jon from Geeksploration to talk about this cult classic comedy! Hope you enjoy and when you're done, go check out Geeksploration, it's an awesome show!
