Hun har lang erfaring med behandling av angst, depresjon, relasjonelle problemer, sorg, traumer og seksuelle overgrep. Hun jobber med emosjonsfokusert terapi for individer, par og familier, men hun gjør også fosterhjemveiledning og sakkyndig arbeid. Hun brenner for følelser og har skrevet flere bøker, blant annet Sinte barn og sinte voksne (2021) og De seks store følelsene (2020).Elyas Mohammed er ungdomsarbeider på en ungdomsskole og foredragsholder. Som ung var han tilknyttet gjengen Young Guns på slutten av 80-tallet etter mange år med utenforskap og diskriminering. Han har bakgrunn som miljøarbeider og engasjert talsmann for ungdommenes perspektiv og aktiv forebygging, helt siden han mistet sin bror i 1989. Han var blant annet med å starte opp ungdomskultursenteret X-ray, som for mange i Oslo har vært et hjem i møte med livet og en katalysator for mestring og fremgang. This week, we head back to the 1800's to meet the man who would become known as Billy the Kid!  Born Henry McCarty in New York City, he eventually went west with his Mother and brother with stops in Indiana and Wichita before landing in Silver City New Mexico.  His mom died when he was just 14 and his stepdad abandoned him to head to California to start mining.  Henry's first criminal act was to steal food for which he served ten days in jail.  Later he went on to become a horse thief and a Regulator and fought in a conflict called the Lincoln County War.  He killed a corrupt Sheriff and his deputy and became fodder for tales of the Wild West and Newspapers, building a legend as a killer that it's possible he didn't earn.  We talk about his life, his death and the mysteries and surprises he left behind, including a possible survival under the name 'Brushy' Bill Cody!  All this and Arthur talks school and the Finch App and Laura and Dean discuss whether or not Jon Bon Jovi qualifies as butt rock in this special Young Guns episode of the Family Plot Podcast!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.

In this episode of Derms and Conditions, host James Q. Del Rosso, DO, is joined by Diego Ruiz DaSilva, MD, dermatologist at Forefront Dermatology and assistant professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Together, they discuss Dr DaSilva's recent publications and his journey in building a collaborative research career focused on real-world clinical insights.  To begin, Dr DaSilva shares the inspiration behind his recent publication that evaluated oral JAK inhibitors in elderly patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Motivated by the positive feedback from older patients and the perception that JAKs are underutilized due to safety concerns, he conducted a multicenter retrospective study that found strong efficacy and a reassuring safety profile in patients aged 65 to 96. Next, the discussion turns to nemolizumab, an IL-31 receptor antagonist recently approved for prurigo nodularis and atopic dermatitis. Dr DaSilva highlights a patient case that prompted a broader series: a patient with cancer experiencing recalcitrant itch who saw complete resolution within days of starting nemolizumab. Across 10 cases, 8 showed a rapid and marked itch response, with no adverse events or ocular surface issues. Finally, they review a case report on palmoplantar psoriasis treated with topical roflumilast 0.3% cream. Used initially as a bridge to systemic therapy, the patient achieved unexpectedly robust results with the topical alone, avoiding the need for a biologic. Dr DaSilva notes the importance of keeping nonsteroidal topicals in mind, especially for steroid-sparing strategies.
