Being an only child when was little I always wondered what it'd be like to have an older brother. Well, all it took was a move to small town and right across the street I got it. Lex and my family both moved in to town within a week or two of each other and my mom would babysit him and his siblings. So by proxy I ended up with five siblings. And believe me when I say it's defiantly a sibling relationship with ups, downs an all around to say the least but Lex has grown up and carved a nice career for himself managing and working behind the camera for a number of sporting events. I pretty much grew up with the the guy so it was nice to catch up with my first big brother. It's cold outside, and while most of us would like to hide in side huddling by the heat, that can not be said for Mr. Kevin Burnside Jr. Born with Spina bifida and sadly lost both his legs, but Kevin has continued to beat the odds. Going from basketball and now working towards becoming a Paralympian Nordic Skier of all things. After hearing Kevin's story if you don't feel motivated to do more I don't know what to tell you. 2020 may have been tough for him, but it hasn't killed his drive to make the US Olympic team and perform at the highest stage in his sport. While most of us, including myself, would've probably just settled for what life gives us, Kevin is a shining example of going through the muck of life and following your passion even at the grimmest of times. In the last couple episodes I've mention my fantasy football league and sadly injury has ruined my season. Luckily I know someone who actually coaches football in my boy Mr. Bill Creed. Bill was one of my first dorm mates and friends I made when I went to school and even from the first day I met the guy it was obvious there would be few people I'd probably meet in my life more in love with the football then Mr. Creed. Who would've thought my stupid decisions as a kid would've got me sent to day camp where I would me the girl I lovingly refer to as my favorite Jew. Now, don't get it twisted, while being Jewish was always a big thing for her, trust me when I say there much, much more to the tory than just that. This a case of two people who have know, talk and even worked together but never honestly had a REAL talk between them. This one might be a hot topic one for some of you. Ryan is a pastor of his own church, hoping to find a better way to grow and share his faith. Podcasting, YouTube and working on a book Ryan studied theology and is pretty well read on the scriptures. Religion is often a hotbed of debate and Ryan and I touch a lil on a couple of them (abortion, trans issues, etc). I don't have much confidence in many things, but when it came to writing I'll be the first to admit I do have a bit of cockiness over. Then freshmen year in college I met this girl who not only had the same major as me in Professional Writing, but who I also had the EXACT same schedule as. We formed a quick bond and she quickly became one of my favorite people despite leaving and moving on to bigger, better things. Working in fashion the combo of the pandemic and becoming a new mom forced her to change course and, oddly enough, she's found herself back in the world of writing again. I've been on record as stating that if anything was to happen to me that she would be the one that'd get all my story notes/maps and drafts because of the respect I have for her. Years ago I tried starting a kind of nerdy podcast called "The Loser Report" with a couple of friend. My main partner in this was my boy Anthony Smith. So before I do my solo episode to celebrate 20 episodes I decided to have him on. Now I APOLOGIZE for some audio issues as Ant kind of surprised me by actually showing up at my place to record. I had to dust off the old equipment and deal with the...wildness of my neighbors as this was the saturday before July 4th. So you'll probably hear some screaming/yelling, some police sirens among other things as apparently things started popping off outside.
