What Ales Ya: Florida Beer & Brewer Tour
With everything going on, I wasn't too sure on if What Ales Ya needs to be posting episodes, but thank you for your desire for more episodes. I recorded two episodes for Taster Tuesday's before the mandatory stay at home went into effect. So here is one of them, as I sat with Cameron for the St Patricks Day episode & Tampa Beer Week recap. Thank you everyone for asking for these episodes. ALSO! Go to our YOUTUBE channel for a new daily series called "Wait, What Is Today?" in which I record what the day is, and celebrate the National Day of the day. Thanks again! See you soon friends, we've got this. - Quain
Quain sits at the lovely beer bar/food truck stop called A La Cart in Orlando with head brewer/co-founder Vince and social media sensei Mike from DSSOLVR Brewing in Asheville, NC. DSSOLVR Brewing is brand new in Asheville, but with their amazing collabs, branding, social media...they have made such a massive impact, and here's their story. Thanks to A La Cart for their amazing spot, and thank you Dustin, April, and as always Sam for being amazing.
We're back! And with our goof friends Horus! Horus has many hats in the Orlando brewing scene. Head Brewer at Blue Springs, co-founder of Centermost Point Invitational with our host Quain, and now soon to be the brains and voice of a podcast...but first...this episode. Quain sits with Horus to talk about CMP, Orlando Beer Week, Tampa Bay Beer Week, and the Orlando culture for the more open minded. Let's talk!
Our host Quain sits with Gary (head brewer) & Jordan (creative director) of Bhramari Brewing Co. over at GB Bottle Shop & Tasting Room, and so much beer tasting and geeking out happens in two hours. We love talking Asheville and whats the happening over there in their neck of the woods, but now Asheville gets to talk Florida beer and also hear who Bhramari was able to collaborate with while here in Florida. HUGE thank you to GB Bottle Shop for letting us record and go visit them while in Orlando. Follow on FB & IG.
Quain sits in Shankly Studios with the man, the myth, the legend Cameron Henson. Cameron is What Ales Ya's right hand man at events and always making sure friends, and fans are happy with stickers, shirts, beer, and just a smile or hug. Cameron has only been on the mic once before at SMaSH Beer Fests Taster Tuesday last September. Get to know Quain more on film, 80's TV, good music, as they drink Virginia Beach's best and a Centermost Point brewery that poured, Commonwealth Brewing. Thanks Cameron and to our friends at Corkcicle & Florida Brewers Guild Fest in March.
Hosts Quain & Pieter sit with Jeremy Pitman & Danny Diaz over at Rockpit Brewing in Orlando, FL, as they are coming to their one year anniversary. They discuss the culture of Orlando brewing and breweries, but also Florida as Danny gets into his brewing career. Jeremy talks "shop" since they have a home-brew shop in the brewery, and Pieter enjoys his Taco Bell. We really appreciate their time and energy, and congrats to RockPit on one year.
Welcome to the year 2020, and Pieter comes right out and is wanting his DeLorean to go back in time. Join your hosts as they discuss the new year, Orlando Beer Week, what to expect in 2020, and just being happy to be back on. We experienced a hiccup in the audio while recording, Sadmyth did everything he could in surgery to save the episode, but it was when we were actually recording. BUT! Still, enjoy, and checking all equipment now before we record again. :)
Quain sits with punk & folk singer Frank Turner from the UK to discuss Frank's latest record & podcast "(Tales From) No Man's Land", growing up, punk rock, some beer tasting, & being a newlywed. We were able to meet up with Frank in St Pete, FL. & introduce him to Green Bench Brewing in the tiniest dressing room at the Palladium Theater. It truly was an honor to get to know him, & can't wait for the next record & talk again. Listen to the podcast: Tales From No Man's Land ... The album No Man's Land Or search Spotify: Frank Turner No Man's Land, & don't forget to subscribe to the podcast & download his albums.
Quain's passion for local podcasts finally makes its mark on WAY as he brings chef & podcaster Eliot Hillis (Off Cuts Podcast, Orlando Meats) on the mic. The two get into some beers of course, but they discuss Orlando food, his podcast, where to bring a nuisance lamb, & welcome Eliot's food to our beer fest, Centermost Point. Quain has ALWAYS loved his food, his food knowledge, & his food podcast...and the two voices paired up perfectly.
