In this discussion he talks about everything from his own musical beginnings to Operating Theatre, and from The Diceman (Thom McGinty) to James Joyce. Roger Doyle's music is available from https://rogerdoyle1.bandcamp.com/ This edition of the podcast is dedicated to the memory of my friend Hughie Friel. All City Records has gifted both Ireland, and the global stage, a wealth of releases. From propulsion of modern hip in the LA 7x7 compilation release, to recent unearthing of Ireland's forgotten funk and jazz eras with the AllChival series, All City has developed a calibre of pristine taste rivalling the world's best record labels today. This episode digs into the landmark releases and evolution of the very fine Dublin based record label.

Joyous scenes in NO ENCORE HQ as the status quo officially changes forevermore. And then the Hozier video takes centre stage and it all gets a bit upsetting. Elsewhere, the great David Kitt drops by for an in-depth chat as he releases his brand new Like Lightning EP - out now on All City Records - and the boys pour cold water all over The Blaze. ACT ONE: Yet another big announcement. ACT TWO: Hozier is back and everyone's lost the run of themselves. Including him. ACT THREE: The news section finds the team reflecting on the sad and sudden passing of Mac Miller, Paramore make a progressive stance and Fall Out Boy come under righteous fire. ACT FOUR: David Kitt in conversation talking his latest work, New Jackson and his plans for the future as Dublin continues to become a difficult place for artists to prosper. ACT FIVE: Podcast favourites The Blaze have dropped debut album Dancehall. Gotta be great, right? ACT SIX: Songs of the Week with Rostam, Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa and Kanye West. This week, we’re delighted to say hello to Olan O’Brien from All City Records. Olan was a Banter guest in our very early days and he was great value for the interview, but we never recorded that one so it was fantastic to make amends for that at the Shore Shots Festival in The Model in Sligo a few weeks ago. A great conservation about running a record shop, operating a record label, the state of hip-hop today and various other matters.
