Psychedelica Lex is the first book to offer a comprehensive survey of the laws and regulations governing psychedelic substances. ABOUT THE PSYCHEDELICA LEX PODCAST AND CHANNEL President Nixon's enactment of the Controlled Substances Act in 1970 banished most psychedelics to Schedule I, making psychedelics for most purpose illegal. However, as the Congressional Record reveals, psychedelics never got a fair trial and little scientific evidence, if any, was considered by lawmakers. Prohibition was more about politics than public health. Yet, historical record, anecdotal evidence, and scientific studies all suggest that prohibition was an unnecessary and harmful overreaction and that many benefits may be derived from psychedelics. Psychedelica Lex puts the question of psychedelics on trial. Hosted by a veteran litigation attorney, each episode will explore psychedelics from different perspectives. As we explore the evidence together, you - the audience - will serve as jurors. Together we will examine every facet. These retreats take place in a small, Kichwa indigenous community called Sacha Wasi Communidad, about 30 minute's drive from Puyo where guests stay in simple, locally-constructed bamboo huts and participate in numerous rituals with medicinal plants, as well as daily hikes and music, ensuring a close connection with la Pachamama, our earth mother. Here seekers can experience the healing power of ancestral master plants such as Ayahuasca, San Padro, Psilocybin, Sananga, Guando, Mapacho, Rape' and others. This is the one who SAYS YES TO THE SPIRITUAL QUEST, THE SOUL QUEST, & THE HEART QUEST by first asking himself: “Why are things like this?”  Through Divine Orchestration and in Perfect and Divine Timing, the Seeker moves through the world retrieving pieces of himself in both the solo chapters of the journey, as well as in the converging ones when he meets foes and challengers, allies and lovers. What you may not know about the Fool is that he represents the infinite: all possibilities, all paths, all experiences, all times. Anything can happen on the quest, which by the way, is also infinite. It does not ever have to end, and there is no arrival point. The magic and the power lies in the infinite moments that make up the journey, lifetime after lifetime, infinitely so. At some point during life, every person is invited on this SOUL QUEST. Not all will say yes. I did. And this is the story of mine.  ***This episode we are exploring the Tarot Archetype of the Fool. I use my own personal experience stepping out on my own Spiritual Quest as the Fool back in 2018, which happened to be kicked off by a synchronistic psychic reading with a gifted Mystic and Clairvoyant. The Fool represents the energy of Zero, the Beginning or Origin, the start of a great Adventure. The challenge is of course letting everything DIE and FALL AWAY, so that a new version of me could be born and say yes to the quest. I was Naïve at times and Brave at times, but always led by Heart with great purpose. It is the sum of my travels & experiences that have brought me to this very present moment in time & space, where I am transmitting codes of Empowerment, Sovereignty, Courage and Truth for the Collective. At a young age, Chris heard the call to be of service to humanity and in 1996 he received a certificate in Phlebotomy and Medical assisting where he worked in a gero-psychiatric unit dealing with the study, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders with the elderly. In 1997 Chris went back to school to study Emergency Medicine and received an EMT certificate and began working as an Emergency Room Tech at a local Hospital. After several years working in the medical field and seeing the profit focused side of western medicine, Chris decided to move to Germany and spent three years studying AlternativeMedicine. In Europe, Chris gained extensive experience working with Sacred Plant Medicines and their ritualistic ceremonial traditions. Chris discovered his spiritual passion for Ayahuasca. After attending countless Ayahuasca religious ceremonies, he realized his true calling … to bring sacred plant medicine back to his homeland – the United States. “All these beautiful plant medicines have, you know, many benefits for everybody, and I encourage everybody to take your life back into your hands and look into every single one of them. Don’t just believe everything that is told to you. I didn’t believe Ayahuasca was going to help me, I didn’t. But it did and look at the person I am right now. I didn’t believe cannabis was going to help me, I thought it was dope. You know that is what I was told all my life. Oh, dope, this, that! I actually went to prison in the military for using cannabis before going to Iraq because I was nervous about it. You know, and then I got sent for longer and stuff. So, it was like I didn’t believe in none of this stuff.”Today Rachel is joined by Josiah Prieto. Josiah shares his story about his military experience and how after sustaining a horrific accident he finds his way of healing through the sacredness of plant medicine. His rawness and vulnerability is something to be admired and is greatly respected. Through his journey, he has been able to take his life back into his hands. This journey led him to Mother Ayahuasca, which was a huge catalyst in allowing him to become the person he is today.Josiah also shares how he became a vegetarian, the health benefits he sees by maintaining that lifestyle along with the physical activities he most enjoys on a regular basis. This man has so much love for all humanity and truly wants to help and serve. Welcome back to the continued adventure of my ayahuasca adventures. This time I went to Guatemala less than 3 months after my first retreat in Costa Rica to get clarity. That clarity I wanted, was if I am truly being called to continue to down the medicine path, meaning, to learn to become a facilitator to serve ayahuasca. This is no easy path. On this path I will be torn limb from limb, have every crevice of my heart excavated and light shone upon everything I'd never want to look at yourself, let alone have anyone else see.  One doesn't put him or herself through that for no reason. I take this path seriously, I respect the medicine, and my intentions for coming to La Familia Ayahuasca in Guatemala was to see if my ego was the one talking or if it was a true calling. I discuss the 4 ayahuasca ceremonies (the last 2 in this episode), the shamanic plant dieta, the transformational healing, the insight, the perfect lessons and the magical experience of being deep in the jungle, all alone. Divided into 2 parts, this is the story...I know this one is a longer than my usual podcast episode length, but it is PACKED full of good stuff, including a poem I wrote, and also a song I wrote called, River, on the guitar at the very end.

Keiko Matsui talks about her deep connection to her fans and understanding how music connects us spiritually. Keiko Matsui is delightful, humble, playful and spiritual. It all comes through in her music! She recalls her childhood and says her first love was sports, gymnastics and soccer. She says she was very competitive. Keiko’s Mom is a traditional Japanese dance teacher but Keiko showed no interest in dance so her Mom sent her off to piano lessons. Thank You Mom ! Keiko started playing piano at 5 years old. She shares the story of competing as a piano student and thinking that after the competition she would quit and write instead. But she says after that competition she somehow started to receive the melodies instead of writing. 17 albums later she still receives the music. “I stop everything on tour and lock myself in a room and instead of writing I wait for the music to come to me …. And it does”. She draws inspiration from everyday life, her thoughts about life and where we came from and from nature. Her ‘Journey to the Heart’ and ‘Soul Quest’ albums are indicative of a personal search. Her music reflects that, her creation of music is very spiritual. She attributes much of her success to her fans. She says, “My music is a journey to my fan’s heart --- because of you I can come this far”.

Since then, Keiko has released another solo project titled “Soul Quest”, as well as teaming up with the legendary Bob James for their album “Altair & Vega.” Outside of the studio, Keiko is a passionate and relentless world traveler, bringing her music to her fans all over the world. In doing so, she captured an incredible performance in her native country of Japan that has recently been released as a CD/DVD combo titled “Keiko: Live In Tokyo”. It’s her first live release in many years and it features past Inside MusiCast guest Kirk Whalum and guitarist Chuck Loeb. Here to talk to us more about this project is Keiko Matsui.
