In today's episode, I speak with Stephen Smith, CEO of Amsted Industries. Stephen shares his belief that vulnerability is about acknowledging that you can be wrong and being willing to expose yourself as a human being. He emphasized that showing vulnerability helps to level the playing field and eliminates defensiveness, which can hinder effective decision-making. Stephen recounted instances where he openly admitted his ignorance during meetings, which he believes fosters a culture of learning and growth. He also highlighted the importance of sharing personal experiences, such as his joy of becoming a grandparent, to help others see him as a human being with similar joys and emotions. We discussed the importance of balancing vulnerability with strength, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. Stephen believes that being vulnerable can convey strength and security, and it's crucial to communicate both effectively. He also shared that he's been vulnerable in his personal life, such as taking piano lessons at 65 and performing in a recital alongside a five-year-old prodigy. Stephen believes that living a life where you're not always the powerful person but sometimes the vulnerable one is important, especially as a leader. Depuis le 23 juin et jusqu'au 23 septembre, les quais parisiens se parent d'un décor estival attrayant et culturel. Grâce aux installations de cinq artistes contemporains, les promeneurs pourront découvrir sous la fraîcheur des ponts de Paris le parcours « Sens dessus dessous ». Nicolas Laugero-Lasserre dirige l'ICART, l'École du management de la culture et du marché de l'art, et Fluctuart, ce centre d'art urbain flottant qui est amarré au port du Gros Caillou, dans le 7ème arrondissement de Paris. Le voici aujourd'hui commissaire artistique de l'exposition estivale parisienne « Sens dessus dessous ». Depuis le 23 juin et jusqu'au 23 septembre, 5 artistes investissent les dessous de 5 ponts de Paris. Cinq artistes qui rendent hommage et donnent vie à la face cachée de cinq ponts par des installations, des fresques et des projections:  Amsted, sous le pont de l'Alma Philippe Écharoux, sous le Pont Marie Erell, sous la passerelle Simone de Beauvoir ID Textile - Marion & Sylvie Breton, sous le pont de Bir-Hakeim Sébastien Preschoux, sous la passerelle Léopold Sédar Senghor. Les œuvres mettent ainsi en valeur ces ponts, véritables traits d'union entre les deux rives et les arrondissements de la ville. Nicolas Laugero-Lasserre est l'invité de VMDN. Au menu de ce Café gourmand : Amélie Beaucour présentera le Docu-Série Pan African Music, le dernier épisode « Sitos, Kinshasa sur le qui-vive » vient de sortir. Marjorie Bertin est allée à Grignan pour la 35ème édition des Fêtes Nocturnes voir la pièce « Les fâcheux » de Molière, dans une mise en scène de Julia de Gasquet.
