Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the third and final season of Dark , and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss alt Martha’s developing relationship with Jonas and the impact meeting her future self will have on the overall narrative. Adam’s motives remain unclear, and the provenance of the “For Charlotte” pocket watch adds even more mystery to the story. We also contemplate whether or not the cycle can even be broken and whether individuals are doomed to repeat their pasts. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave and his wife binge the final season of the Spanish Netflix series Cable Girls, and he gives a thumbs up to the pilot episode of Simon Barry’s (Continuum; Van Helsing) latest offering, Warrior Nun. Wayne and his family check out Disney’s latest streaming effort of the hit Broadway play Hamilton, and he learns that his son still remembers the lyrics to the soundtrack. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands lets loose with a diatribe aimed at Netflix’s decision to drop the final season of Dark in one fell swoop. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the Dark season 3 premiere, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the return of Dark for its third and final season which appears to now center on Jonas and Alt Martha and their attempt to save both their worlds from disaster. Will the Adam and Eve motif ultimately lead to a Garden of Eden scenario that allows both universes to survive, or will difficult choices have to be made? While we enjoy a certain familiarity with most of the characters, the introduction of a mysterious trio raises even more questions. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave nears the end of season one of Once Upon a Time and begins the sophomore offering of the Netflix fantasy, horror series The Order. Wayne suggests Dave check out the Matt Damon drama Ford v Ferrari. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands feels the Perry Mason reboot falls flat, and Karen from Colorado joins the SFTVR family as a listener, contributor, and patron. Does it contain way too many voiceovers for Wayne, and do scenes from the new season constitute major spoilers? Is Wayne correct in his thinking that Martha 2 represents Jonas' counterpart on the other side?Tune in and find out.  In our What We're Watching segment, Dave highly recommends the British detective series Marcella which just dropped its third season and gives Once Upon a Time a second look. Interestingly, Gry emerges as the conscience of the audience, but once the smoke clears, she’ll have some dramatic soul searching to face. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave completes his watch of The Last Kingdom, and Wayne finds yet another reason to hate Tom Brady whose golf match interrupts the second episode of Snowpiercer.  In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands revives his theory concerning Laurits’ parentage.  Remember to join the genre television and film discussion on the SciFi TV Rewatch Facebook group and follow us on Twitter @SciFiTVRewatch for the latest genre television show news and podcast releases. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the fifth episode of the Netflix fantasy series Ragnarok, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the turmoil within the Jutul family as Vidar and Ran engage in a brief knife fight, but it’s the well designed clash between brother and sister that highlights the episode. Is Fjor’s affection for Gry true, and will she be collateral damage once the real battle begins? Perhaps just as important are the hints that Iman may be the seer described in the opening sequence. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave makes it to season four of The Last Kingdom and reminds listeners of the return of The 100 and Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Wayne provides a cautionary warning about the HBO series Run. His basic message? Run away as quickly as you can. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands wonders who, in fact, is in charge of the Jutul family. Remember to join the genre television and film discussion on the SciFi TV Rewatch Facebook group and follow us on Twitter @SciFiTVRewatch for the latest genre television show news and podcast releases. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for the pilot episode of the TNT series Snowpiercer, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long awaited TNT addition to the world of Snowpiercer starring Daveed Diggs as Layton and Jennifer Connelly as Melanie, the voice of the train. Wayne mentions initial difficulties divorcing the events of the pilot episode from those of the film, but once that was accomplished, both hosts give “First, The Weather Changed” high marks. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave binges the first season of The Last Kingdom, and while he’s not ready to pronounce it better than Vikings, it’s at least in the conversation. Wayne goes international with the Netflix drama Fauda, a series that explores the human side of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands reminds us that even though he wasn’t able to watch the series opener in time for the podcast, the film piqued his interest. I was wondering if you have any thoughts on different knitting styles and how you wrap the yarn around when you knit. The way I learnt to knit as a child, is what I understand is called continental style knitting. This is where you hold the yarn with your left hand, over your left index finger, and use your right needle to “hook” the yarn and then pull it through. The only time I knit while wrapping yarn around using my right hand is when I do colour work. On the occasions where we can see you actually knitting on your podcast, it seems that you might be knitting the wrap-around-style, and that has always seemed to me to be a (sorry) slower way of doing it. Have you tried other styles of knitting, or have you any other thoughts on this? What do you think are the pros and cons of knitting this way or the other?Originally asked/answered in 2015Misc. - ~Threads Entwined - 15% off until the end of May, 2020, with the coupon code geeky15~Support the Podcast, Become A Patron~Want another way to help support our podcast? Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the Netflix production Ragnarok, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long awaited revelation of Magne’s true identity and that of the Jutul family. As both sides begin jockeying for position in the coming battle, a new character enters the picture, and Gry takes her relationship with Fjor to the next level. Does Turid possess knowledge of the ancient battle between the gods and the giants, and who will ultimately stand with Thor as he attempts to restore order on Earth? In our What We're Watching segment, Dave finally checks out the HBO alternate history series The Plot Against America which employs Philip Roth’s 2004 novel as a jumping off point for a story that finds American hero Charles Lindbergh defeating Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1940 presidential election. Wayne, once again tries to convince Dave to check out The Last Kingdom. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands reminds us that the showrunner and Executive Producer of the upcoming series Snowpiercer is none other than Orphan Black EP Graeme Manson. Remember to join the genre television and film discussion on the SciFi TV Rewatch Facebook group and follow us on Twitter @SciFiTVRewatch for the latest genre television show news and podcast releases. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the long range implications of the visual reveals that take place during dinner at the Jutul home, and the role Gry might play as the story unfolds. We consider who’s in charge of the Jutul family anyway, and speculate about what they buried in the mountain way back in 1967? In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne decides to rewatch  the first two seasons of The Last Kingdom as he works his way through season four which dropped in late April. Dave begins the newest season of Showtime’s Billions and binges the second season of My Brilliant Friend on HBO. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands informs us that he’s chosen the third episode of Hemlock Grove’s first season as one of his Patreon rewards. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss episode 2 of the Norwegian Netflix fantasy series Ragnarok. It seems fairly clear to both of us that Magne’s transformation into the god Thor has nearly reached a tipping point, and a large scale act can’t be far behind. Enough hints are also dropped about his brother Laurits that we feel safe in anointing him the 21st century Loki. But what of the Jutul family? Gods or giants? In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne reluctantly can’t comment on the current season of Westworld, but suffice it to say, he loves it. Dave continues his Westworld rewatch and has nearly completed the second season. He also looks forward to the new incarnation of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.  In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands still feels good about his prediction that Laurits may be Vidar’s son. This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the premiere of the Norwegian Netflix fantasy series Ragnarok. Now that Magne and his family return to Edda, life begins to change as he adjusts to his newly discovered powers. Is he Thor brought to life, and his brother the trickster Loki? And what about Vidar and his eternally young family? Mysteries abound in this well crafted pilot, but it’s Isolde’s puzzling accident that sets narrative alarms on alert. In our What We're Watching segment, Wayne continues with his Star Trek concentration and discusses his decision to rewatch the four companion movies for Next Generation. Dave completed the Alex Garland series Devs and now plans a rewatch of his film Ex Machina. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands points out the many and varied visual associations Ragnarok enjoys with Dark. This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the season and series finale in which Henry learns some painful truths about Nikolai and her father. However, it’s the final scene in a Barcelona square that raises the most questions, not only about Henry’s future, but also about the lost storytelling opportunities resulting from the series cancellation.  In our What We're Watching segment, Dave’s return to Westworld leads him to go back for a season one rewatch, and points out the new Freeform series Motherland: Fort Salem. Wayne finally reacts to Fred’s high praise of CBS All Access’ Picard and binges the entire season.  In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands lets Dave know he can rest easy about the closure provided by the Impulse series finale. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss Henry’s decision to temporarily remove Anna Hulce from the narrative equation, and whether she truly intends to return her to safety. Wayne contends that Thomas has committed the biggest relationship blunder a man of his standing can make, and Dave worries a bit about the coming season and series finale. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave finally gets caught with The Magicians and has a positive reaction to the series’ finale. Somehow, he also returns to HBO’s Westworld and in response to its complex third season has also initiated a series rewatch. Wayne zeroes in on the unusual Oscar nominated film Jo Jo Rabbit. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands questions the extended screen time of Nikolai’s fight with his sister, and trusts Dave that the season finale can provide some measure of closure for the series which was not renewed for a third season. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss Henry’s attitude changes and her decision to open up a bit to not only her work colleague but Nikolai who continues to shepherd through this difficult transition. As Henry gets better, Jenna appears to be entering a downward spiral as the life she knew disappears before her eyes.  In our What We're Watching segment, Dave checks out the first two episodes of Apple TV+’s Amazing Stories and returns to the printed page with the fantasy novel The Night Circus. Wayne talks about the fourth season of The Expanse and points out it might be the best of the series. Fred from the Netherlands wonders about Henry’s transformation and the 6th candle Nikolai lights in the Romanian church in Listener Feedback. More puzzling, however, is Lucas’ stunning admission and proposal regarding Henry and her role moving forward. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave’s hooked on the FX/Hulu series Devs but still finds time to watch the Australian drama Offspring with his wife. Wayne zeroes in on the new season of Westworld.  In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands wonders about Henry’s reaction to Lucas’ pronouncement and whether she’s even more afraid of him than before. Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the guys are currently watching, commentary and analysis for this week’s episode of the YouTube production Impulse, and our listener feedback.  This week on SciFi TV Rewatch we discuss the evolving relationships in “Seven of Hearts,” an episode which forces Henry to accept that Nikolai is truly trying to help her evade the people who want to explore her powers. The Mennonite story arc continues to flounder, and Anna doggedly pursues new leads. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave opts for a tip-of-the-week and goes off on a mini-rant about people ignoring CDC social distancing recommendations in the fight against COVID-19. Taking a more traditional approach, Wayne follows up with his thoughts about Altered Carbon’s second season.
