A bit of a first for PHUK. We're introducing Dave Moyle who has produced an entire mix of his own productions, which we've never done before on this podcast. It is therefore a very unique journey and adds to the variety of talent we offer and showcase on this podcast.Hugely inspired by music during his childhood, Dave became captivated by the sounds around him, ranging from various genres and movie soundtracks. He would often attempt to mix two tapes or even vinyl with tapes to create a unique blend of music. As he grew older, he frequented local events and clubs, where he was enamored by the DJs spinning and mixing tunes. This led him to purchase a set of turntables and he has been mixing ever since, covering all genres of music including 80s, 90s, Dance, House & Trance.Dave drew inspiration from well-known DJs like Armin Van Burren, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules, and Pete Tong, whom he admired for their work on their Radio 1 shows. He honed his skills in music production during his twenties, learning and perfecting his own style and sound. Dave has been a warm-up DJ for well-known artists such as Lange, Scott Bond, Solerstone, Dave Pearce, Manuel la Saux and Lee Haslem. He has also played on radio stations such as Sunderland's Spark FM, Unite Radio based in County Durham, and AATM in London. Dave has had numerous releases on record labels like Neostatics Sounds, Affiliate, Green Nights Records, and Blank Capsule Records, with many unreleased tracks on his Soundcloud account. His current sound is very unique and original, featuring nods to the 80s and 90s with melodic progressions and movie-inspired tranced-out beats. After a chance meeting in a Montreal after-hours club in in the mid 2000s, Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard quickly discovered that they had a natural musical chemistry. They soon began collaborating on original songs, remixes, and songwriting, officially forming Sultan + Shepard in 2010. From collaborations with revered EDM artists like Dillon Francis, Tiesto, and Fedde Le Grand, to remixes for major pop acts like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, and Madonna, the duo established themselves as one of dance music's leading partnerships. The 2012 release of their anthem "Walls" vaulted them on tour across the globe with stops at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, and a residency at the Wynn in Las Vegas. In 2013, their remix of Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven" earned them a Grammy nomination. More recently, the duo received the SOCAN Music award for International Song of the Year for "Bad", a multi-platinum single which they co-wrote alongside David Guetta, Showtek and Vassy. In early 2016 the duo inked a multi-single deal with Armada, and their first track under the label, “Love Me Crazy”, was released that summer. Most recently, the duo reunited with singer Nadia Ali to release the folk-inspired dance anthem "Almost Home”, also featuring NYC-based songwriter Iro.
