Originally from the USA and now relocated to Valencia Spain, Eric Estornel is making incredible leaps and strides releasing some of the most devastating yet unique music in the industry. His sudonyms Maetrik, Mariel Ito, Plaex, and now Maceo Plex are under great demand for the rich dynamic production and unique blend of techno, house, funk, and electro that only Eric can devise. Perhaps it's because of Eric's clear Cuban roots or his years in the game, but without a doubt 2010 was an incredible year and only more amazing things are expected of his truly unarguable talent. In 2010 alone Eric released under the names Maetrik and Maceo Plex remarkable releases on labels like Cocoon, Audiomatique, Crosstown Rebels, Dumb Unit, and Mothership. Not to mention a slew of amazing remixes for the likes of Morcheeba, John Digweed, Robert Babicz, Max Cooper, Martin Eyerer, and many more. Now in 2011 Eric after the release of hugely successful "Vibe Your Love" on the very respected Crosstown Rebels, as Maceo Plex, Eric will be releasing in Febuary his full lenth album aptly titled "Life Index". It will be the start of a great career on Crosstown Rebels and will be huge departure from his typical futuristic tech sound as Maetrik. Without leaving the Maetrik brand behind, Eric will also releasing a hot new ep on Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts imprint, and a new ep on Cocoon. Also for 2011 remixes of Mandy & Booka Shade, Timo Maas, Adam Beyer, among others already confirmed. 11 years since his first release on the respected Immigrant Records back in 2000, Eric is still holding strong to his quest for the future of dance. Whether working on his "other worldly" compositions as Maetrik, his alien sounding electro as Mariel Ito, or his innovative dark house music as Maceo Plex, Eric is always putting his blood sweat and tears into everything he does. Putting aside trends and crushing genre boundaries, no one can argue that Eric has always stayed true to what comes from his heart or his sometimes choatic mind.

MATTHIAS MEYER (GERMANY) Long-time Watergate resident DJ and Producer Matthias Meyer is set for a stellar 2022, propelled by career defining moments, including a series of acclaimed releases and a worldwide tour. The Berlin-based artist's previous release on Watergate Records with Budakid, ‘Sweet Ease' / ‘Hybrid Society', reached No.1 on Beatport Indie Dance towards the end of 2021 and was a highlight of countless DJ sets, including in WhoMadeWho's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Having launched his own label, Strangely Enough, in 2020 with the sumptuous ‘Strangely Enough' EP, Matthias Meyer delivered the highly original and powerful ‘The Choir' EP in January 2022 on the imprint. Further releases will follow on the label throughout the year, which will present Matthias Meyer's own unique sound, alongside other artists which share his vision. As a highly in-demand selector, Matthias Meyer's DJ sets showcase his unique style which ranges from uplifting and orchestral, to deep and hypnotic tribal grooves. In addition to his nearly 10 years as a Watergate Berlin resident, Matthias Meyer held a residency at Hot Since 82's Labyrinth event at Pacha, Ibiza. This episode, UVS hosts a very special guest, Eric Louis. Hailing from NJ, Eric Louis is a DJ and producer with eclectic taste and refined skills behind the decks and in the studio. A former intern at Deeper Rekords under NYC legend Jonathan Peters, Eric honed his early production chops creating edits played for thousands in Peters' iconic marathon sets. Active in the NYC scene with a 5-year residency and numerous gigs across the region, Eric broke out in 2015 by winning Victor Calderone's remix contest out of 300 entries. That release propelled him to international recognition with tracks on labels like Nervous (NY) and Berlin's Get Physical. Blending underground sensibilities with forward-thinking sounds, Eric launched his own imprint “Devilish Affair” in 2021. The label has earned major support—John Digweed championed “Waiting in the Rain” and Ryan Elliott charted “AM Dubs” in late 2022. In 2025, Eric continues expanding Devilish Affair and releasing on respected labels like Spclnch, OHM Series, MixCult, and Bondage. He's also joined forces with rising star Cristina Lazic and her La Zic Academy, mentoring the next generation of DJs and producers. UVS has been an early supporter of Eric's deep, dubby house and techno sound.
