All links and images for this episode can be found on CISO Series https://cisoseries.com/i-think-possibly-maybe-weve-solved-diversity-in-cybersecurity/ We're tired of hearing "we're trying" when it comes to the subject of how companies are trying to inject diversity into their organizations. It's a lopsided game and diverse candidates have to make ten times the number of attempts as their non-diverse counterparts. This episode is hosted by me, David Spark (@dspark), producer of CISO Series and guest co-host Jimmy Sanders (@jfireluv), cybersecurity, Netflix DVD. Our guest this week is Jerich Beason (@blanketSec), svp, CISO, Epiq. Thanks to our podcast sponsor, Living Security Traditional approaches to security communication are limited to one-off training sessions that fail to take customers, regulators, and other external stakeholders into account and rarely affect long-term behavioral change. This report lays out a four-step plan that CISOs should follow to manage the human risk. It provides design principles for creating transformational security awareness initiatives which will win the hearts and minds of senior executives, employees, the technology organization, and customers. On this week's episode How have you actually pulled this off? As discussed before on this show, being the next CISO at a company that was recently breached can be very lucrative. We've had guests that have very successfully negotiated huge salaries as the post-breach CISO. Are CISOs setting themselves up for far too much responsibility to be seen as a the company's digital savior? What are the responsibilities of a post breach CISO? Got a better answer than "we're trying?" Over the years we have interviewed dozens of business owners, security professionals, and hiring managers about diversity. Almost all their answers fall into the following buckets: We're trying but there's no pipeline. We're working with XXX group to improve. Diversity is needed because diversity of thought it needed to create a more secure organization. No one will admittedly say they're against diversity. Yet systemic racism, sexism, or just boys' clubism in general continues to exist. It appears most of the non-diverse business leaders are being pressured into admitting it's a problem. So they do it, and we even get token hires, but it all comes off as diversity theater and not the business actually making a shift. What is the story of diversity in cybersecurity many people don't get and need to actually be doing, not just giving lip service to? "What's Worse?!" Eugene Kogan, CSO at a confidential company sets it up: Who do you want on our side: executives or employees? And now a listener drops knowledge "Learn cybersecurity in public," suggests AJ Yawn of ByteChek who recommends joining a training program and then publishing what you've learned on a blog. As AJ explains, "Doing this will help you build relationships & prove to potential employers you’re applying your new knowledge." He concludes with the advice, "Don’t learn in silence." The community responded to AJ's advice. It's great advice, which everyone agreed to in the comments, but why then do so few people actually do it? There’s got to be a better way to handle this Zero trust is not a technology that can be purchases as a solution. It's an architecture, methodology, and framework that you have to consciously adopt, noted Stephen Lyons of F5 on a post on LinkedIn. Can solutions already in-house be rejiggered to adopt a zero trust methodology? And if so, what changes would need to be made to existing systems to have a more zero trust environment?
For this episode, I am excited to welcome AJ Osborne to the Just Start Real Estate Podcast. AJ is an entrepreneur, investor, author, speaker, and popular podcast host of Cashflow 2 Freedom and Self Storage Income. He also owns and manages his self-storage portfolio of $100 million in assets and specializes in acquiring and turning around underperforming facilities with a value-add strategy. AJ loves to show other entrepreneurs and investors on how to focus on technology and automation in order to grow their businesses. AJ starts out by providing some background on how he got into real estate investing. He starts off by telling us that he was an insurance nerd, and even though it is thought of as a boring occupation, it taught him so much because of the lessons it provided him. He was selling group insurance policies, which were very technical, had a long sales cycle, and a very high failure rate. He learned so many great lessons from working in this field but started to see that it was not something he could scale and he wasn’t really working for himself. As AJ began to see that earning a high wage wasn’t necessarily making him wealthy or financially free, he decided to buy brokerages in order to consistently have clients. He had a terrible experience with one of these deals and this changed his entire work strategy. He decided he needed to actually own assets that paid him consistently and predictably. AJ and his dad, working as partners, ended up buying several self storage complexes mostly because they thought they would be easy real estate investments because they didn’t have toilets. What AJ found was that they were more like businesses rather than real estate assets. AJ said that the way they began approaching these self storage investments was to look at the potential for building revenue only. I asked him to explain what he meant by revenue management other than occupancy because this type of investing seems a lot like multi-family properties to me, which hinges on occupancy. AJ gave us some great analogies to explain his philosophy towards creating wealth with this unique wealth-building tool. AJ shares a lot about the lessons he learned in building his business and he found that very few people understand the intricacies of self storage investing so he decided to share all of this information through podcasting and writing a book, titled The Investor’s Guide to Growing Wealth in Self Storage. He said they just starting uploading all of this information and it caught on like wildfire because there are no other resources for this type of investing. AJ mentioned how they get a lot of deals this way because sharing these investment strategies built people’s trust in their business. AJ mentioned he had just started a private equity company, so I asked him to explain what that meant to our listeners. He said that they just take on private investor’s money to give them equity in a deal. He explains to us how he started in this arm of the business and give us some specific examples of deals he has taken on private money. He also shared how doing business this way reinvigorated him because he is a people-person and loves brainstorming with others. I asked AJ to explain the new technology company he is involved with. He said they are partners with Tenant Inc, a property management program whose technology is superior, yet simple and helps to centralize and streamline your self storage business. Some of its functionality includes ways to easily integrate third-party technology, manage your managers, and bolster your profits, equity, and market position. We also talked about networking, how you go about finding and closing self storage deals, how to grow your businesses and still be personally productive, and so much more! You have GOT to listen to this information-packed episode of Just Start Real Estate! AJ is involved in so many different projects and aspects of the industry, you do not want to miss all of the fantastic value he shares! Your personal brand is a business. And if you don't run it like a business, then it will never succeed as one. That's one of our first key takeaways from our previous episode with wildly successful entrepreneurs Kevin Harrington and Mark Timm. Today, AJ and Rory Vaden discuss the powerful insights that arose in that incredible conversation. Our second takeaway highlights the value of mentors in unlocking your potential. Following this, we chat about having the humility to learn from mentors who are younger than you and the challenge of finding the right mentor. Reflecting on the Zig Ziglar quote that, “You don't drown from falling into the water. You drown from staying there,” we explore the importance of having a mentor who has experienced failure before. As AJ explains, they'll know how to help you when you deal with your failings. Near the end of this episode, we dive into Mark's idea that you should treat your family as if it were your most important business. According to this idea, it needs systems and clever planning to run it properly. For our final insight, we talk about the impact of collaboration and how it gives you access to greater audiences — a secret behind both Mark and Kevin's success. Tune in and hear more from our conversation with Mark and Kevin, two business and branding masters.

In this episode of FitBiz Talk, we talk with AJ Richards. AJ was the founder of Crossfit Mesa and Rush Club Nation. Rush Club Nation was a UFC style head to head fitness competition under the lights in front of a large crowd that was streamed live to over a half a million viewers. Unfortunately, Crossfit Mesa and Rush Club Nation met their demise and AJ had to file for bankruptcy. AJ speaks in depth about the lessons he learned building a Crossfit gym and a widely successful competition and most importantly what their failures taught him. AJ is now the founder of Dream Big Play Bigger and is not only a fitness coach for individuals looking to lose weight but also helping with mental and emotional issues. There is a lot to learn from this episode as AJ has seen both sides of being very successful and the failures that may arise if you don’t have your business running effectively. As AJ looks back upon his past, he passes on recommendation on how you can set yourself and your business up for long term success.
Deep Cut (Urban Dictionary): A song by an artist that only true fans of said artist will enjoy/know. True gems that are found later in an album, a b-side. Rarely if ever played on the radio. The purpose of Stanley's Monthly Pick's is to spread the word about tomatoband. Each episode that comes out the 2nd Tuesdee of each month is carefully crafted to beg shared to anyone who likes good music. But there are also some gems that fans have come to love that don't fit in the episode structure but are so good that I can't not play them. These are the deep cuts. This version of I Know You Rider, is essential tomatoband listening. As AJ said in the episode 2 voicemail segment, this is one of the music highlights of the summer. it also shows why tomoatotuesdee is a special event at the Charleston Pour House. This jam just builds and builds till around 12 minutes then launches into outer space and a sweet, sweet Buz solo! Full show can be found here. Want to leave a voice mail for the show? Hi friend, I hope you are having a most awesome day. Today I want to share a special story with you. My guest on this podcast is AJ Miller. She is a Boot Camp Challenge® (BCC) trainer and BCC Master Trainer. She is also the daughter of a Vietnam veteran who passed last year. What AJ did not know was her father had left behind a journal, a memoir. After trying several times to read the memoir, and failing, she decided to return to Vietnam and retrace her father’s footsteps. Her purpose is to unveil her fathers’ story and share his memoirs right where they happened. She has only been able to make it through one entry so far but it was a big one. In it he talked about flying his chopper, thoughts of suicide, how he felt he never really came home and what his job was in the US Army during the war – he was a Scout. And, according to him, a killer. It was the last line that caused AJ to freeze. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. She’ll explain in the podcast what happened next, and let’s just say, shocked is an understatement. As AJ continues traveling across this country and visiting places her father stayed, she is trying to understand her father. How did he live with such cruel and unimaginable memories? How did he appear to function in society after the war? How did he manage his undiagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? AJ also shares the following: - Her FIRST reaction when learning her father was a killer. - Meeting a Viet Cong soldier who fought against her father in a coffee shop. - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – what it really looks like. - How she compares Vietnam and fitness. AJ also shares some stories about war that may be difficult for you to hear. If this topic is a trigger or draws you to a place of darkness, best you skip this podcast and we will catch you in a few weeks when our next one drops. We get quite emotional and the language, quite real. In fact, it may be offensive to some. Please take all of this into consideration before listening. There are lots of components of the wellness wheel. While we usually focus on the fitness and nutrition components, today, we focus on the emotional. In AJ’S word’s, this was boot camp for the soul. Smiles,Lorixoxo

Life on Fire TV (Audio) – Online Business Coaching With Nick Unsworth
Musician and rockstar turned Twitter guru and marketing strategist, AJ Amyx, joins us for a follow-up episode to teach us how to build relationships, a following, and your business using Twitter! For AJ, where it all starts in business is helping and inspiring others to pursue their passions. Many times we feel stuck in a job we’re not happy with, or simply unfulfilled with what it is we do for work each day, but it doesn’t have to be that way. A bridge that AJ found to quickly connect with people, join conversations, and build relationships (and ultimately customers) was Twitter. What’s unique about the Twitter community is that unlike most other social media platforms where conversations are private, Twitter conversations are intentionally public and when you join the conversation with something valuable to add, you are welcomed! One question that often comes up is how do I create meaningful, valuable content in only 140 characters? AJ’s recommendation is start to think like a journalist. View your tweets as headlines that are there to motivate someone to click your link to a longer article, post, etc.. Another common question that comes up is, since people are there to connect with other people, what percentage of the time do you weave in personal content or information? AJ’s tweets are about 5-10% personal (which are still related to his overall content strategy), and 90-95% his core content strategy. Next, we’ve heard a common theme over and over again, when it comes to establishing relationships with influential people in your niche, which is to GIVE first. On Twitter, that couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is share or retweet pieces of their content that you like! Direct messages, are they still relevant on Twitter? Absolutely! But, you have to use them in a genuine and “human” way. Nobody wants a spammy auto response direct message to go buy something, etc.. Using direct messages the way they were intended is a fantastic way to connect with people! As AJ points out, “It’s all about relationships.” And, Twitter is arguably the best social media relationship-building platform available. One of the biggest opportunities we see on Twitter is the ability to advertise. Historically, new platforms like Google AdWords and Facebook went through a period of coming into their own with regard to advertising. Twitter is approaching that tipping point. So, how do you get started on Twitter if you don’t have a lot of time? As AJ mentioned in his last episode with us, your graphic design is hugely important when it comes to how you and your brand are perceived. So, make sure you have good design, a good photo of you, a great bio, and start building a history of tweets with high value content. And, a final thought from AJ: “Figure out what is your stance, and then buy into it that you are literally born to liberate somebody.” That’s it! Go! Liberate! If AJ’s passion, tips, and enthusiasm has you fired up, please write us a review in iTunes telling us what you love about Life on Fire TV and leave us a 5-star rating. Thanks so much for subscribing! You’re a liberator!

A do t'ia dalë mbanë? I mbeten vetëm 30 minuta kohë.

Asaj i mbeten vetëm 60 minuta. A mund t'i besojë ajo pastorit? A do të mjaftojë kjo kohë?

Po a mund të jetë e mundur kjo?
