A făcut în paralel o facultate de drept privată din Târgu Jiu și Facultate de electronică, telecomunicații și IT de la Politehnica din București, unde a rămas asistent universitar. România are nevoie de un ministru al Apărării care să încurajeze analizele militarilor și soluțiile lor, într-o lume în care Moscova ar vrea să-și extindă influența cu orice preț.  Războiul are multe fețe, România a exersat deja atacurile cibernetice, creșterea curentului extremist-naționalist deopotrivă în mediul real și în cel virtual, dar și dronele rusești care traversează spațiul aerian al țării și care în mandatul precedent al ministrului Apărării nu au fost doborâte. România a părut nepregătită în fața inamicului său lăsând aceste aparate fără pilot să se plimbe, să monitorizeze, să pună la încercare apărarea țării. Poate că Bucureștiul are nevoie de un ministru al Apărării care să-și asume rapid decizii ferme, care să fie respectat de militari, dar care la rândul lui să știe cum să folosească expertiza ofițerilor, e de părere jurnalista DW Sabina Fati. Până la ora editării acestui material, nici unul dintre cei doi candidați nu a răspuns la o cerere G4Media.ro în care li s-a solicitat numele persoanelor fizice care i-au împrumutat. Ciprian Ciucu e însărcinat cu găsirea de soluții (Libertatea) Primarul ales al Capitalei, Ciprian Ciucu – cel mai de succes liberal al momentului – a fost însărcinat oficial să găsească soluții adecvate momentului, care pot fi, în teorie, și menținerea pe loc a împricinaților Monica Anisie, Ionuț Stroe, Andrei Baciu și, respectiv, Dan Meran. Pentru a calma situația în vederea unor Sărbători fericite, termenul până la care Ciucu poate veni cu propuneri – posibile și de la Forța Dreptei – este finalul lunii ianuarie, citim în Libertatea. Ilie Bolojan dorește performanță cu orice preț, nefiind dispus să accepte tot felul de scuze sau de explicații. Între aceste propuneri de schimbări au existat plângeri venite dinspre primari, care au pus pe tapet problemele pe care le au cu colectarea taxelor și impozitelor. Cele 20 de măsuri concrete de relansare economică, puse pe masă de mediul de business: Ar debloca investiții de 10 mld. lei – ar creștere gradul de conformare cu 2 mld. euro – ar reduce povara administrativă cu 30-40% pentru companii (CursDeGuvernare) Confederația Patronală Concordia, care reprezintă companii din cele mai importante 20 de sectoare economice, având o contribuție de 30% la PIB, propune un pachet de 20 de măsuri de relansare și creștere economică. Este vorba despre politici fiscale pentru investiții, reforme structurale și mobilizarea capitalului autohton pentru competitivitate, scrie CursDeGuvernare. Implementarea pachetului de măsuri Concordia ar genera: Deblocarea a peste 10 miliarde lei în investiții Creșterea gradului de conformare fiscală și a colectării cu un impact estimat la 1,4-2 miliarde euro anual Reducerea costurilor administrative pentru companii cu 30-40% Crearea unui mediu economic favorabil pentru sute de mii de locuri de muncă „Mediul de afaceri este pregătit să continue să susțină creșterea economică, dar are nevoie de semnale puternice și concrete care să arate că statul este un partener, nu un inhibitor, în acest proces,” susține Mihai Matei, Vicepreședinte, Confederația Patronală Concordia. Health and nutrition start with caring for the soil. Food can and should be our medicine. Dr. Robin "Buz" Kloot of the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health and Soil Health Labs shares his perspective on connections with soil health and public health with Eric, Mary, and Jeff in this episode. Buz reflects on his own research but also points out what he has heard from farmers and ranchers he has worked with through the years. Building on the idea that eating is an agricultural act and food can be medicine, Buz would like health professionals, agronomists, soil scientists, farmers, and ranchers to collaborate more on soil and public health research and education.In addition to your own research and study of soil and human health, Buz recommends reading Fred Provenza's book Nourishment: What Animals Can Teach Us about Rediscovering Our Nutritional Wisdom. As always, we encourage you to cooperate with other farmers, graziers, and gardeners for peer-to-peer learning and to follow the four core soil health principles: 1) Keep the soil covered -- Cover crops are our friends and allies; avoid bare fallows;2) Minimize soil disturbance -- Practice no-till or gentle tillage as much as possible in your field or garden;3) Maximize living roots year-round -- to improve biodiversity, soil structure, and life in the soil; and4) Energize with diversity -- through crop rotation, high-quality food for soil and plants, farm enterprises, and livestock integration. The 4 The Soil team recently commissioned a new set of art posters to help people remember the four principles of soil health and celebrate that “We Are 4 the Soil!”.  If you are personally or professionally interested in printing and framing the soil health artwork, the 16” by 20” posters are available for purchase and printing as single posters or a set of five posters.If you have questions about soil and water conservation practices, natural resource concerns, and soil health principles and practices to restore the life in your soil, call or visit a USDA Service Center, a Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District office, or your local Virginia Cooperative Extension office.  4 the Soil: A Conversation is made possible with funding support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and The Agua Fund. Changing course is never easy, especially if the change requires a complete overhaul at the most basic, fundamental level. Dr. Robin "Buz" Kloot of the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health and Soil Health Labs talks with Eric, Mary, and Jeff about this paradigm shift among farmers and within the soil science community.Buz explains how the shift in thinking and paradigms occurred. In many cases, people were focused more on the symptoms rather than the cause, for instance, soil loss through erosion or poor water infiltration. Understanding the underlying cause required a whole-system approach. Riding Shotgun With Charlie #240 Buz Mills Gunsite Academy, Owner NRA BOD   I met Buz Mills in passing NRA AM a few years ago. I felt a little in awe knowing he owns Gunsite Academy, the world's premier civilian training school started by the late, great Jeff Cooper. This year at NRA AM, I found myself at a dinner and was introduced to him again.  I'm honored that he was able to take time during the very busy weekend to give me an hour. I've been a fan of Cooper and his books since I became a gun owner so I was excited to take with someone else that has a connection to him. The ultimate question was "when am I coming to Gunsite?"   Before we kicked off the show, we spent about 15 minutes just talking in the car. He's got amazing stories to tell and I was able to get some of them on video. Buz grew up in the era where everyone shot, hunted and took their .22 rifles to school. After school, if he didn't shoot any small game, dinner was going to be vegetable soup. He learned to shoot in the Boy Scouts and participated in the postal matches through the NRA. As a kid, he was able to cash in empty soda bottles for .22 ammunition. There wasn't ammo for misses.    Back in the 1970's, Buz was in sales and worked with electronics and cell phones. He said he's not a fortune teller, but just an observer, telling people that one day, we'd have one number attached to us (our cell phone). He got out of that business in 1999 when he purchased Gunsite. Buz met Cooper in 1980 and was a "frequent flyer" at Gunsite.    Next year is Gunsite's 50th anniversary. They have lots of classes to offer. Besides pistol, carbine, rifle, and shotgun, there are tactical courses, knife courses, responding to active shooter courses, and just about anything you can think you'd need. Probably more than you can think of. This year, they've been building a fifth new building in five years. Since he bought the business back in 1999, it's grown from 165 acres to over 3,200 acres!   You can tell that Buz breathes the Second Amendment and the NRA. We talked a lot about the goings on at NRA when we filmed at NRA AM in April 2025. The NRA was formed to teach the North how to shoot after the Civil War. With the passing of the Gun Control Act of 1968, the NRA got more involved in politics.    Having been on the NRA BOD for a few terms, Buz saw that what they were doing was a textbook version of how to "chase your members" away. Particularly, at the members meeting, if someone spoke out, the Board would shut that person down. This tactic chased off about 40% of the membership, according to him.    Mills and a handful of others have been working hard to get the "Reformers" on the board. Last year, about 75% of those elected were Reformers. This year, there's more of them on the ballot. The BOD does need a variety of members with a wide swath of skills, including people who run successful businesses who can handle the business of the NRA. The NRA is working to get back to some of the things that made it what it was, which is training and education. They also want to increase membership. The Association has been around for over 150 years and needs to be around for another 150 years. It is going to take some time to right the ship as it took time for it to go in the wrong direction.    There's a lot of NRA talk in the show. About Doug Hamlin becoming the EVP and his history with the NRA. About getting rid of some of the law firms that were hired for cases. About finding out how the NRA looks for replacements and knows that someone has a 12 month contract to make changes, knowing that it will take more time to make the changes.    Buz shared a lot of wisdom he's acquired over the years being in the firearms community and running a successful business. Between Gunsite and NRA, he's a very busy and well respected man. And he keeps asking me "when am I coming to Gunsite?" Interviu cu arhitectul celei mai mari catedrale ortodoxe din lume (HotNews) Bolojan: Eu pot să plec mâine. Dar să mi se spună care sunt soluţiile geniale, care corectează lucruri şi nu deranjează pe nimeni (News.ro) Premierul Ilie Bolojan afirmă că poate în orice moment să renunţe la funcţie, dar solicită să i se spună care sunt ”soluţiile geniale” prin care deficitul bugetar poate fi corectat, scrie News.ro. ”Orice partid consideră că Guvernul nu-şi face datoria are posibilitatea să depună moţiuni de cenzură şi să facă o majoritate în Parlament, în aşa fel încât, cu AUR, cu cine se poate, ca Guvernul să plece”, adaugă prim-ministrul. ”În administraţia locală din România, în majoritatea unităţilor administrative, cheltuielile de personal reprezintă între 60 şi 90%. Sorin Grindeanu are ambiții mai mari, vrea să fie ales, la Congresul din 7 noiembrie, președinte plin al PSD. Pentru a ajunge acolo, trebuie să-și protejeze oamenii mai bine decât a făcut-o în 2017 (când a adoptat Ordonanța 13, care anula infracțiunea de neglijență în serviciu, introducea pragul de 200.000 de lei pentru existența infracțiunii de abuz în serviciu și anula ideea de favorizare a făptuitorului în cazul în care un membru de familie îl proteja pe un altul. Sub presiunea străzii a renunțat în final la aceste idealuri pro-corupție).  Miza e în continuare controlul asupra Justiției. Ministrul de resort, Radu Marinescu, este omul trimis de primărița Craiovei, Olguța Vasilescu, devenită una din cele mai puternice figuri din partid. Ministrul Justiției este omul cheie din guvern care îi propune președintelui întreaga elită a parchetelor: procurorul general, procurorul șef al DNA și adjuncții lui, șeful Direcției de Investigare a Infracțiunilor de Criminalitate Organizată și Terorism (DIICOT) și adjuncții lui, plus șefii de secții. Anul viitor se fac noi propuneri. PSD vrea să controleze cât mai mult din această mare felie a magistraților, așa că încearcă să-i ajute, pentru ca, la rândul lor, să fie ajutat. Înalta Curte a făcut deja câțiva pași prietenoși spre PSD, în dosare importante, iar după respingerea legii la CCR, cei mai mulți procurori și judecători au ieșit din greva în care intraseră la sfârșitul lunii august.  Cu ce tinichele de coadă candidează Marcel Ciolacu la CJ Buzău: scandalul cu jeturile private Nordis, farmaciile și fotovoltaicele nepotului, afacerile protejatei, deficitul-record (G4Media) Marcel Ciolacu are o șansă mare să câștige în sfârșit la vot pe persoană fizică la CJ Buzău. Fostul premier PSD părea anulat politic de înfrângerea de la prezidențiale, de blatul cu George Simion, de scandalurile de corupție și de cel mai mare deficit bugetar din UE. Spre deosebire însă de colegii de coaliție Klaus Iohannis și Nicolae Ciucă, Ciolacu vrea cu orice preț să revină în prim-plan. Nu am văzut până acum la fostul premier nici un gest de regret ori penitență pentru la dezastrul politic și bugetar din 2024. Doar declarații care sfidează bunul simț. Ciolacu e în pole-position la alegerile din 7 decembrie pentru că nici un alt partid important nu și-a anunțat un candidat la șefia Consiliului Județean Buzău, un județ oricum dominat copios de PSD, care are 76% din primari. În plus, el a negociat în ultimele săptămâni cu mai multe figuri relevante din județ pentru a se asigura de susținerea lor sau măcar de non-combat, potrivit informațiilor G4Media. Iar sâmbătă, Ciolacu vrea să își asigure la o mare conferință de partid sprijinul primarilor PSD din județ. VIDEO „Patriarhia a aplicat un sistem privind bugetul cu care noi nu eram obișnuiți”. Cum a fost construită Catedrala Națională. Interviu cu arhitectul celei mai mari catedrale ortodoxe din lume (HotNews) „Un manager de proiect elvețian m-a întrebat: «de ce vă trebuie o biserică atât de mare? În Elveția toate catedralele noastre sunt goale»”, povestește, într-un interviu pentru publicul HotNews, arhitectul Constantin Amâiei, cel care s-a ocupat de proiectul Catedralei Naționale. Cu câteva zile înainte de inaugurarea construcției monumentale începute în 2010, Constantin Amâiei dezvăluie detalii neștiute despre lucrările ale căror costuri se ridicau la începutul acestui an la 270 milioane de euro, potrivit Patriarhiei.   „Am avut și critici de la colegi arhitecți care spuneau că trebuia să facem o catedrală din secolul 21 cu sticlă și metal. Noi a considerat că e mai bine să fie o catedrală tradițională pentru că noi, ortodocșii, avem în mentalul colectiv o anumită formă a bisericii. Dacă o modificăm, nu o mai recunoaștem”, spune Constantin Amâiei.  Constantin Amâiei este din Bacău, membru al Ordinului Arhitecților. Este de asemenea, autorul Catedralei „Înălțarea Domnului” din Bacău. Catedrala Națională sau a „Mântuirii Neamului” va fi inaugurată în 26 octombrie, după mai bine de 15 ani de la începerea lucrărilor. La eveniment va fi prezent și Patriarhul Bartolomeu I al Constantinopolului. De asemenea, sunt așteptați mii de credincioși din toată țara.
