It is located on the west coast of the country, on the Gulf of Bothnia. The population of Vaasa is approximately 70,000, while the sub-region has a population of approximately 111,000.
Its waterfront square, Kauppatori, is home to food stalls and the Toripolliisi, a squat policeman statue. The Tietomaa Science Centre offers interactive exhibits and a large cinema screen for 3D films. Nearby, the Oulu Museum Of Art showcases regional works. The Northern Ostrobothnia Museum chronicles the city's cultural history.
In June of 2011, Peter Lindberg, Dennis Åberg and their Swedish OceanX diving team discovered a feature visible on an indistinct sonar image while treasure hunting on the floor of the northern Baltic Sea at the center of the Gulf of Bothnia. The seemingly remarkable circular shape of the object led to tremendous amounts of speculation. Everything from the ruins of an ancient civilization to a downed extraterrestrial craft has been considered. Could either of these be the case, or could this whole thing be a hoax; an attempt by the treasure hunters to sell mystery-driven submarine tours to wealthy tourists? State of research for shear connector performance in steel-CLT composite beams. Mass Timber Construction Journal, 4(1), 1-9. Architects and engineers are turning to an environmentally-friendly material known as “mass timber” to construct buildings. Mass timber, which is made of planks of wood glued together and stacked perpendicularly, emits less carbon than using steel, iron and cement. Roxana Saberi has more. Air Date: Sep 25, 2021. In the larger Housing Project sector is Jackson Clement Burrows' student housing for La Trobe University. With two arcing wings, 624 student units and some facade aspects reflecting the colours of the plantings across the Melbourne bush campus, it is Australia's biggest engineered-timber construction to date. It is also mostly empty at present. LMN Architects' mass timber structure for Founders Hall at the University of Washington Foster School of Business has topped out. The 85,000-square-foot structure, expected to be completed in the summer of 2022, frames the northeast edge of the school's historic Denny Yard, an open space at the heart of the original campus plan. Discovery Paranormal August 17th 2021: The “Baltic Sea Anomaly” refers to interpretations of an indistinct sonar image taken by Peter Lindberg, Dennis Åberg and their Swedish "Ocean X" diving team while treasure hunting on the floor of the northern Baltic Sea at the center of the Gulf of Bothnia in June 2011. The team suggested their sonar image showed an object with unusual features of seemingly non-natural origin, prompting speculation that the object was a sunken UFO. There are new pictures of the object, but research drones cannot get close to it as they electronically shut down as they approach. There is new information about the object, and new findings

The earth’s waters contain many mysteries, most of which have yet to be found. With only an estimated 2% having been explored, we know more about the Moon, than we do about the oceans and seas that make up our planet. So it’s pretty exciting when a discovery is made that rocks not only the scientific community, but also the world of ufology and even archeology...and yes, this discovery was made underwater! In 2011, a team of Swedish divers who were on a mission to find a sunken ship, filled with cases of champagne, happened on what seemed to be the find of a lifetime. An unusual, and not to mention HUGE, anomaly was viewed, on the floor of the Gulf of Bothnia, between Sweden and Finland. Numerous theories of what this mysterious anomaly could be, ranged from a naturally occurring formation, to a crashed ufo and even that it could possibly be the lost city of Atlantis. But what are the facts behind this case and is there any proof that “holds water” to any of these theories? Connect with Us on your favorite social media! Our story today takes place on the west coast of Finland. January 5, 2017 was a sunny winter day. And it was also very cold: -4 degrees Fahrenheit, which is -20 degrees Celsius. That day, there was a woman who was at home, but outside. She was looking west, out over the Gulf of Bothnia – the body of water that separates Finland’s west coast from Sweden’s east coast. It’s about 60-70 miles across, and the surface is frozen in the winter. As she is looking out over that ice-covered body of water, she sees a person skiing across the ice – about 500 yards away from land. And during that brief time that she’s looking that direction, she sees that person drop right through the ice into the water. The person she saw go through the ice was an 18-year-old man named Matt. That was a pretty scary day for Matt. He could have died that day, but he didn’t. Thankfully he survived, and he told me exactly what happened that day. I hope you enjoy it.
