#1: Bowen Therapy with Joy Marcinkowski

Know Better | Do Better

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 23, 2022 41:21

Bowen Therapy... What is it, you ask? This is a therapy everyone needs to experience! Originated by an Australian man by the name of Tom Bowen, "Bowenwork" is a therapy that works with the body to stimulate a healing response for things like pain, inflammation, tight or sore muscles, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, internal organ health, lymph drainage, sleep, stress, and so much more. It's like a magical reset for the body, powerful and effective, yet ever so gentle. You'll hear in this episode how it changed my own blood work, and supercedes anything I've personally experienced.  I'll be chatting with Joy Marcinkowski, a massage therapist of 15 years. Joy started specializing in Bowen work in 2012, she's now trained to teach the therapy technique, and has a passion for helping people with Bowen in ways that massage never quite helped. You'll love her sweet spirit and our conversation around this fascinating and incredibly effective therapy. Get ready to open your mind, and then run to find a Bowen Therapist near you.  Check out Joy on her website. And if local to Southern California, she travels! So feel free to book an appointment with her HERE. SUBSCRIBE to the "Know Better | Do Better" Podcast newsletter for upcoming guest notifications and special info you can only get as a subsciber. What is a migraine? What is cortical spreading depression? What is trigeminovascular system activation? And what does it mean when this causes temporary 1-sided paralysis? And most of all: what if it's not a migraine—what if it's a stroke? Migraines generate more questions than answers, but this episode will help sort out some of the basic factors.   Sponsors:     Books of Discovery: www.booksofdiscovery.com      Advanced Trainings: advanced-trainings.com   Host Bio:                    Ruth Werner is a former massage therapist, a writer, and an NCBTMB-approved continuing education provider. Healing with Bowenwork® Do you suffer from a frozen shoulder, knee pain, arthritis pain, carpal pain, well you are in for a highly informative show today? Recently I had hand injury, it healed, did some hand therapy, but it was stiff and although I made progress it was still inflamed. I was referred to a Bowen worker from a gentleman who received amazing help with a torn ACL, without surgery he is a triathlon runner. I did not know what it was but wanted my hand back fully functioning. On my first treatment my fingers were less swollen, and I could wear my rings again after. Sharon Edminston discusses with Darielle the healing benefits of Bowenwork®. Host: Darielle Archer Guest: Sharon Edminston, 916.799.7703 website: bowenworkforhealing.com
