Isabelle Ducos-Filippi est née à la Varenne Saint-Hilaire, dans le val de Marne dans une famille cosmopolite dont l'activité professionnelle gravitait autour du commerce et des affaires. Même si Isabelle a grandi dans un environnement familial très éloigné du monde des études, ses parents ont toujours placé l'école avant tout. Ses grands-parents ont également joué un rôle primordial en l'abreuvant de livres. C'est ce contexte qui fait prendre conscience à Isabelle que la lecture, l'imaginaire et les histoires seront au cœur de sa vie professionnelle et personnelle. Enfant, nourrie de ses innombrables lectures, deux aviateurs emblématiques vont la fasciner et même l'influencer : Il s'agit de Jean Mermoz et d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. C'est en 1986 qu'elle obtient son CAPES de lettres classiques, puis l'agrégation un peu plus tard. Son premier poste a sans doute été déterminant puisqu'il s'agissait d'une CPPN ou classe pré professionnelle de niveau. Elle rencontre son mari en classe prépa au Lycée Berthelot à Saint-Maur et lorsqu'il devient journaliste dans un grand quotidien national, ils n'ont d'autre choix que de s'installer définitivement en région parisienne. Aujourd'hui, Isabelle vit à Sucy en Bry et travaille en Seine et Marne dans le cadre d'un service partagé entre collège et chargée de mission à la DSDEN. Elle résume très joliment son parcours professionnel en un monde de possibles, de rencontres et d'opportunités qu'elle aura l'occasion de détailler au cours de notre entretien. Actuellement, je suis chargée de mission à l'inspection académique de Seine-et-Marne pour la prise en charge des élèves à besoins éducatifs particuliers parce que j'ai choisi, à un certain moment dans ma carrière professionnelle, de me spécialiser. Cela m'a permis ensuite de pouvoir proposer des formations pour l'ensemble des personnels de l'académie de Créteil sur cette thématique. Je n'ai pas eu de déclic. J'ai été nommée, lors de ma première affectation, sur un poste mixte où j'avais quelques heures à faire en histoire-géographie et quinze heures par semaine dédiées à la prise en charge d'une classe de CPPN [classe préprofessionnelle de niveau]. À l'époque, c'était une classe où il y avait des adolescents qui avaient l'âge d'être en 4e ou 3e, et qui étaient tous en échec solaire. Ça a été très difficile les premières semaines et je me suis dit : « Je vais démissionner. Si c'est ça l'enseignement, ce n'est pas possible, je ne vais pas pouvoir le faire… » J'ai réfléchi et je me suis dit : « Non, je ne vais pas démissionner. Mais, en tout cas, je ne vais pas recommencer avec ces élèves-là ce que j'ai fait depuis deux mois, depuis la rentrée. » J'avais la tête farcie de programmes, de contenus, de progressions, de manuels et j'avais oublié finalement – ce qui maintenant m'apparaît comme une évidence – que j'avais en face de moi des êtres humains. Et donc, j'ai décidé que j'allais retourner travailler dans ce collège à la fin de mon arrêt de travail d'un mois. C'est là que j'ai pris les choses à bras-le-corps et que je me suis mise à enseigner et non plus à vouloir transmettre à tout prix des connaissances. C'est comme ça qu'est venu mon intérêt pour les élèves à besoins éducatifs particuliers. Je demandais aux élèves de rapporter des objets de la maison et de venir en parler en classe, je faisais des textes libres. Je me suis dit de façon très empirique : « Il faut que je donne la parole, que j'organise cette parole. » Donc, j'ai eu l'idée de faire un conseil : le lundi on commencera par un conseil, on parlera de ce qui s'est passé la semaine précédente et on donnera des règles pour la semaine à venir. J'ai compris que c'était une façon de procéder qui leur permettait finalement d'être psychologiquement libres pour les apprentissages puisqu'on avait évacué des problèmes de relations entre les uns et les autres, vis-à-vis de certains enseignants, voire de leurs parents. Je me suis intéressée à la conception universelle des apprentissages parce que j'ai longtemps cru qu'aider les élèves consistait à individualiser les cours. Évidemment, je me suis épuisée. Je crois que si on part de l'idée qu'aider les élèves c'est individualiser les cours, on fait fausse route. Je crois que l'observation des élèves doit être notre premier levier. Il suffit de passer assez rapidement entre les rangs, de voir comment l'élève se tient par rapport à la feuille, tient son stylo, sa vitesse d'écriture, sa façon de s'adresser à moi, ne serait-ce que d'écrire trois ou quatre lignes sur le sujet libre de son choix. Et on voit assez rapidement quels sont les élèves qui sont en passe ou pas d'être en difficulté. L'hétérogénéité des classes est un fait aujourd'hui que personne ne peut nier : nous sommes devant des classes où les profils sont très divers. On peut ressentir cette diversité comme une gêne pour enseigner, mais on peut aussi s'appuyer sur cette hétérogénéité pour aider les élèves. La conception universelle des apprentissages, au même titre que la différenciation, est une façon de répondre à la diversité des profils en organisant la séance, ou les différentes séquences, avec des groupes d'élèves qui ont des besoins différents. En articulant conception universelle des apprentissages et différenciation, on peut imaginer qu'on va pouvoir répondre aux besoins du plus grand nombre d'élèves. Aujourd'hui, l'école est inclusive. Dans toutes les classes, il y a des élèves à besoins éducatifs particuliers. C'est une réalité, c'est une photographie de l'école d'aujourd'hui. Je peux vous dire que dans l'académie de Créteil, cette année [2020-2021], environ 70 % des demandes de formation concernaient l'école inclusive. Moi-même, je suis formatrice depuis dix ans. Je pense avoir acquis une expertise à la fois théorique – ce que sont ces élèves, ce que sont les troubles – mais j'ai aussi une expertise pratique de gestes professionnels, parce que ça fait maintenant plus de quinze ans que je m'intéresse à cette thématique. Mes collègues me demandent des solutions, me demandent de les aider à mieux comprendre, à mieux faire. Et il y a d'excellents retours sur les outils, les gestes professionnels, la posture qui peuvent être abordés dans ces formations sur l'école inclusive. Ce matin, j'ai eu le grand plaisir de recevoir au collège une visite un peu inopinée d'une élève que j'ai eue, il y a une dizaine d'années, qui était une élève dyslexique très sévère, qui ne savait presque pas lire. Et elle m'a dit ce matin, quand elle est venue au collège : « Il y avait quelque chose que je ne supportais pas madame, c'était quand on me disait que je n'y arriverais pas. » Et elle a souvent entendu ces paroles. Mais, heureusement, elle a aussi trouvé sur son chemin des enseignants qui l'encourageaient, qui trouvaient des modalités d'apprentissage, qui trouvaient des adaptations, qui trouvaient des pistes pour l'aider. Aujourd'hui, elle a 22 ans, elle est en deuxième année de BTS et veut devenir manager de transition écologique. Et quand je l'ai vu ce matin, elle m'a dit : « Oui, c'est possible d'accompagner les élèves DYS. Oui, vous m'avez aidée. Oui, il y a beaucoup d'enseignants qui m'ont aidée. Et je suis la preuve que nous, les DYS, nous pouvons y arriver, nous pouvons réussir, à condition d'être soutenus, accompagnés, guidés. »
