Happy accidents, the gear that's always moving, and bluegrass Outkast. Jimmy James (Parlor Greens, True Lovers) PARLOR GREENS- Emeralds [RELEASE DATE: 4/10/2026]- https://www.coleminerecords.com "Listening to the abundant sounds of the Seattle-based funk & soul group, True Loves, is like walking down a favorite neighborhood street, slapping five with friends, checking up with clerks in their stores, and smelling the familiar scents of your most cherished locale. The band is its own block party. What began in 2014 as a jam session between three of the city's best - drummer David McGraw, bassist Bryant Moore, and guitarist Jimmy James - has since blossomed into a global force that features percussionist Iván Galvez, trombonist Greg Kramer, and saxophonists Gordon Brown and Skerik. Together, the group's live performances have garnered them much acclaim and millions of streams on YouTube. In 2017, True Loves recorded their debut instrumental LP, Famous Last Words, which received worldwide adulation, earning them performances at coveted music festivals. In 2018, the group released the "Dapper Derp/Kabuki" 45' on WeCoast Records followed by 2019's Colemine Records "Famous Last Words/Mary Pop Poppins" 45 single. The band released their sophomore album "Sunday Afternoon" in 2021, on Color Red Music. 2024 saw the band release their latest "Good Weed and Red Wine" followed by their second European tour. A second single, "Dopus No. 1" was released in January 2025 with a vinyl 7" release of both songs on Valentine's day." What keeps a relationship alive after disappointment? The Torah's most important relationship—between God and the Jewish people—nearly collapses at the Golden Calf. Yet strangely, it becomes deeper afterward. The Book of Exodus begins with one kind of relationship between God and the Jewish people—and ends with another. After the catastrophe of the Golden Calf, the original relationship of command, obedience, and punishment breaks down. In its place emerges something deeper: a relationship sustained by loyalty, patience, and love, even after disappointment. The Torah suggests that this is the foundation of every enduring relationship. We will sometimes fail each other. We will sometimes struggle to understand each other. Yet love grows precisely when we remain committed on the other side of disappointment. As Paul Weinfeld wrote: “True love begins on the other side of disappointment.” What might it mean to stay committed on the other side of disappointment? Are you stuck in a cycle of sin, shame, or ongoing struggle? Do you believe God forgives you—but still wonder if He's disappointed in you? The Bible makes it clear that God's grace is greater than your sin, deeper than your shame, and stronger than your current battle. This message shows why you can't out-sin the cross and how grace gives you power not just to be forgiven—but to be restored. In this sermon, Pastor Travis Hearn of Impact Church teaches that no failure, addiction, secret, or weakness can overpower the finished work of Jesus. In this sermon, you'll learn: Why you cannot out-sin God's grace The difference between guilt and shame—and how to break free from both What Romans 7 really says about ongoing spiritual struggle How grace covers your past, present, and future Why you're not fighting for grace—but from grace Your sin may be loud. Your shame may feel heavy. Your struggle may feel endless. But grace answers louder. Grace stands taller. Grace wins. You are not barely tolerated—you are relentlessly loved. And where sin increased, grace super-overflowed.

Matthew 5:38-48 The undergirding principle of Christianity is love. Jesus modeled the idea of turning the other cheek by giving himself up on the cross. If Christ says "I am love," and we are supposed to imitate Christ, then our lives should reflect that same type of love. What dose God's love look like? This week's Mixtape Rewind takes us back to Season 3 when we first thought of the idea that would become our podcast, The Battle. What happens when two totally different songs share the exact same title? We built a “battle mix” to find out—pairing heavyweights and outliers across genres and decades—then we argue, analyze, and crown winners. From Go to Get Back, each round reveals how a single word can split into protest anthems, breakup arias, dance‑floor bliss, or guitar‑driven chaos. We kick off with Blink‑182 and The Black Keys on Go, weighing a bold tonal shift against a signature groove. Eurythmics steamroll Charles & Eddie on Would I Lie To You with brass, bite, and Annie Lennox's powerhouse vocal. True Love sparks a values debate: Angels & Airwaves deliver a soaring, cinematic build while Coldplay's “lie if you must” line clashes with the title. Roy Orbison's You Got It proves timeless compared to a New Kids on the Block time capsule. Then it's Growing Pains, as Alessia Cara's present‑tense anxiety meets Ludacris's reflective narrative—two coming‑of‑age angles, one title. The center of the card gets fiery. Green Day's Holiday channels mid‑2000s protest energy against Madonna's disco‑pop celebration. Rihanna's Take A Bow serves velvet‑gloved dismissal, while Muse opens an album with a synth‑rock chill that lingers. Tupac and The Beach Boys both claim I Get Around, one with effortless charisma and the other with historic chart significance. Foo Fighters' Run slams with near‑metal intensity, outpacing Snow Patrol's slow‑burn. Happy pits NF's candid mental‑health lens against Pharrell's pure joy machine—two roads to one feeling. And our main event, Get Back, throws Ludacris's peak hit‑maker energy against The Beatles' cultural gravity and complicated context. https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/same-name-different-songs-mix/pl.u-JPAZEoJTLd7Y15jhttps://open.spotify.com/playlist/1sCtai2Hujfbv9kZD0qnU9?si=779125752f4c4f3f Go by The Black KeysGo by blink-182Would I Lie To You? #catholic #sermonSuperbowl billboard during halftime show: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love”. Comment on Twitter that got four million views: “Imagine getting mad about this and still thinking you're a good person”.But the halftime performer Bad Bunny was singing songs that were completely sensual and debased, and calling it love, while the dancers were cavorting in a perverse way on the stage. What we have here is a debate about the meaning of love. Both sides agree that love is good. But they disagree on what love is. One side believes that love is pleasure; the other side believes that love is sacrifice. Those who believe that love is pleasure think that any enjoyment that any two people have with one another is good, as long as there is mutual consent. They believe that all forms of pleasure should be tolerated and celebrated, just because of the fact that they provide pleasure. They believe that all those who criticize the idea that “love is pleasure” are engaging in hate because they say that such people are opposed to love.St. Augustine famously described these two competing ideas on love in his master work The City of God: “Two loves have built two cities: the love of self even to the despising of God, the city of the earth; the love of God even to the despising of self, the city of God. One glorifies itself in self, and the other in the Lord.”There is a famous Catholic manual on the spiritual life and it lays down two important principles on this topic of love that help guide us. (Tanquerey, par. 310-311)The first principle is that the essence of your perfection is charity. What this means is the primary thing that indicates your worth as a human being, your goodness, your value in the eyes of God, is your level of true love, the Catholic idea of love.We know that Our Lord confirms this in the Gospel when He says that the way we obtain everlasting life is by fulfilling to two great commandments of love of God and of neighbor. This is what St. Paul confirms in today's epistle wherein he seeks to prove that charity is the greatest of the virtues. He excludes the false notion of love when he says, “Charity is patient, is kind; charity does not envy, is not pretentious, is not puffed up, is not ambitious, is not self-seeking, is not provoked; thinks no evil, does not rejoice over wickedness, but rejoices with the truth.”Then he goes on to say that charity is the essence of our perfection by explaining that charity is the virtue that remains when we are in our perfect state, while faith and hope go away. “There remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity”. That is where our perfection lies. The reason why our perfection lies in charity is that supernatural charity unites us directly to God. There is nothing that unites us more to God that true supernatural charity. But our whole perfection is in uniting ourselves with God. That is what makes us perfect. The second principle that we must understand about love is that love requires sacrifice. We do not subscribe to this false notion of love wherein love consists in giving yourself pleasure, wherein using another person for your enjoyment is considered our perfection.
It's the official day of romance (at least according to Hallmark Cards). Valentine's Day bring up feelings of love and adoration, moments of affection, gifts to show one's heartfelt emotions for another. But February 14th doesn't always bring the warm and fuzzies. Sometimes the day brings tragedy, heartbreak, or just something of the bizarre and strange.CHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS (All Times Approximate)…00:00:00.000 = Show Open00:01:10.731 = A Freak Love Story00:11:12.851 = Ghost Love Stories ***00:27:41.588 = Bloody Story Behind Valentine's Day ***00:32:00.771 = Show Close*** = Begins immediately after inserted ad breakHELPFUL LINKS & RESOURCES…https://WeirdDarkness.com/STORE = Tees, Mugs, Socks, Hoodies, Totes, Hats, Kidswear & Morehttps://WeirdDarkness.com/HOPE = Hope For Depression or Thoughts of Self-Harmhttps://WeirdDarkness.com/NEWSLETTER = In-Depth Articles, Memes, Weird DarkNEWS, Videos & Morehttps://WeirdDarkness.com/AUDIOBOOKS = FREE Audiobooks Narrated By Darren Marlar SOURCES AND REFERENCES FROM THE EPISODE…“A Freak Love Story” by Rachel Souerbry for Ranker.com: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/4kr4ep45“Ghost Love Stories” posted at NotebookOfGhosts.com: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/345vwf54, and BurroughsOfTheDead.com: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/4hcjbps8“The Bloody Story Behind Valentine's Day” by Avani Raj for ED Times: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/c759fnnyWeird Darkness theme by Alibi Music Library. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =(Over time links may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. Resentment quietly destroys relationships. You may still love the person, but you're replaying the words, holding onto the moment, or keeping mental receipts. The Bible teaches that love keeps no record of wrongs, but forgiveness feels impossible when you've been deeply hurt. This message shows how true love forgives, how to release resentment, and how to stop letting past pain control your future. If you're struggling to forgive someone — or even yourself — this sermon will help you find freedom. In this sermon, Pastor Travis Hearn of Impact Church teaches what it really means to forgive from the heart and why grace is the only way relationships survive. In this sermon, you'll learn: How to forgive someone who keeps hurting you What “love keeps no record of wrongs” actually means The difference between forgiveness and reconciliation Why bitterness is silently damaging your relationship How to release resentment without ignoring real hurt How to stop replaying past offenses You can't build intimacy while holding onto receipts. You can't move forward while reopening closed cases. And you can't walk in freedom while dragging chains from the past. True love doesn't operate like a courtroom. It operates like a cross. When forgiveness flows, healing follows.
