Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of The Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse Schwamb and Tony Arsenal delve into the letter of Philemon, focusing on the transformative power of the gospel in relationships. They examine Paul's heartfelt appeal to Philemon on behalf of Onesimus, a slave who has become a believer and is now returning as a brother in Christ. The discussion reflects on the profound theological implications of forgiveness, reconciliation, and Christian unity, as well as the way the gospel subverts societal roles while upholding spiritual kinship. Jesse and Tony explore the delicate yet powerful language Paul employs in his letter, highlighting how he appeals to Philemon's faith and love to guide his actions. Paul's request challenges Philemon to see Onesimus not just as a slave but as a beloved brother, emphasizing the radical equality that the gospel brings to all believers. The hosts unpack the layered dynamics of this relationship, showing how it serves as a practical application of the theology outlined in Colossians. The conversation also touches on the broader implications of living out the gospel in everyday relationships. Through Paul's example, believers are encouraged to prioritize love, forgiveness, and humility, embodying the transformative work of Christ in their interactions with others. This episode offers rich insights into how theology intersects with daily life, challenging listeners to reflect on their own relationships in light of the gospel. Key Points: Paul's appeal to Philemon demonstrates a balance between authority and love, showcasing how Christian leaders can guide others in faith. The gospel transforms relationships, breaking down societal barriers and emphasizing spiritual equality among believers. Forgiveness and reconciliation are central themes, as Paul challenges Philemon to welcome Onesimus back not as a slave but as a beloved brother in Christ. Questions for Reflection: How does the gospel challenge societal roles and transform relationships in your life? What can we learn from Paul's approach to addressing sensitive and difficult situations with love and tact? How does recognizing the spiritual equality of all believers impact your interactions within the church and beyond?
The Exodus Way E12 (Bonus Interview) — If we come to the New Testament without much knowledge of the Hebrew Bible, we may think that baptism is just something that John the Baptist made up and Jesus carried on for new disciples. But there are multiple levels of meaning in this practice, including ritual purification, Israel's passage through the Red Sea, entry into the promised land, and, most importantly for Jesus, a symbol of his death on our behalf. In this episode, Jon and Tim have a wide-ranging conversation with prolific author and theologian N.T. Paul the apostle was one of the most dedicated people in scripture and that dedication saved him from destruction. In this message, we look at how dedicated Paul was and the benefit of that dedication that we can apply in our own lives
Central Baptist Church in Kansas City Sunday sermon with Daniel P. Colossians 1:15-20
In his latest teaching episode, Bishop Wack concludes his three part series on the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. The Apostles featured in this episode are:James the Less, Simon the Zealot, Bartholomew, Jude/Thaddeus, Matthias and Paul
In this sermon we conclude our series on the saints by looking at the life of Saint Paul the Apostle. We consider the devotion (yes, that's right) behind his efforts to destroy (ravage, roundup, jail, kill) the church and how Christ was able to break through and change the direction of his life. From there we consider a couple passage from his letters and with the help of something called sympathetic resonance (it's a piano thing) what it means to abandon our lives to way of Jesus.
Explore the life and legacy of the Apostle Paul in this episode of The Church History Project. Thank you. In part 5 of the 16ll KJB studies into the validity and Paul the Apostle, Howard Elseth continues to dig deeper. He opens up with Hebrews 4:11: "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief." There is a lot of misunderstanding about what this really means. It is not a works oriented, earned rest as it may sound. This involves the very little discussed "Urim and Thummim." The widely held belief is that it is like a couple of black and white dice thrown to see outcomes. But this could not be further from the truth. The Thummim represents the material world. The Urim represents "doctrine and truth" and the spiritual world. Main stream Christianity reads out of Alexandrian/Eyptian texts that never take them any further out of a material experience. They never enter into the Urim of the Sabbath rest. It is going from the Thummim of the material world into the realm of the Urim of the spiritual that brings brilliant new life. It is the difference between night and day. It is like going from dwelling on a little hill to sojourning in the heights of the majestic mountain of God. Listen as Howard, a master theologian teaches the depth of this subject from the great 1611 King James Bible. "Reading Christians are growing Christians. Some people believe that if anyone reads the 13 books he wrote they are going to hell and multitudes are falling for it. In the ongoing discussion about "the Validity of Paul The Apostle" in the final message of part 4 today, Howard continues to establish the beauty of Paul's words that are forever written in the infalible 1611 King James Bible. How Paul was undoubtedly called by Jesus Christ to preach the pure gospel entrusted to him. He completely and selflessly admonishes all to run their race full, vivid and strong to "win the incorruptible crown." The lesson stretches out to Moses and His powerful work given by God to Him. Both men endured severe hardships but were potent in their callings and finished gloriously. There is so much wealth in the way Howard uncovers and stretches forth the line in understanding the original old English language. Revealing deeper meanings in the letterings, spellings and the numbers of the words that substantially prove there is none other Bible than the 1611 King James Bible. Listen how Howard masterfully goes into the depths beyond my ability to describe here. This message is so deeply rich and beautiful. "In heaven we shall appear, not in armour, but in robes of glory. In like manner has the body of Christ left off reading the 1611 KJB for many generations in lieu of Alexandrian Text Bibles created by men. In this week's episode of Crazy Faith Talk, pastors Sarah, Erica, and Sarah begin a round of conversations highlighting people in the Bible they would like to be, or would want to have some part of. And to get this started, we'll take a look at Saint Paul, famously known as apostle to the Gentiles and the voice behind a large part of the New Testament. He can be bold and confident, and yet sometimes he struggled to be heard with respect and struggled with finding his place in God's work amid suffering, imprisonment, and adversity. What would have been the benefits of being Paul--and what would have been the challenges? Listen in and find out more here on this week's edition of Crazy Faith Talk!

In the ongoing discussion about "the Validity of the Paul The Apostle" in part 2 today, Howard sets the steadfast mark of Paul's commission from Jesus Christ Himself. The detailed, vital keypoints of His calling are brought to crystal clear light in the first half. Then in the last half he answers with clarity, the age old question of what is the "accursed thing" and/or the "unclean thing" that Paul strongly warns not to touch. It is fascinating as He opens up doors of solid theological, iron clad truths and so much more. Keep in mind he is teaching out of the 1611 King James Bible that is written in the purest orginial English language in gothic. So the spellings will be different most likely from your 1769 King James Bible Version. This is a most excellent, compelling study. Messianic Apologetics editor John McKee reviews Galatians 2:7-10. Advocates of a bilateral ecclesiology, commonly argue that the different missions assigned to Peter and Paul, indicate a bifurcated Body of Messiah. Is this is the only way this passage can be approached?

As we finish the Book of Acts, Paul and Luke finally get to Rome via a pit stop in a small island called Malta. There they encounter a native tribe that shows them unusual kindness and for three days entertained the 276 from the ship and showed them great hospitality! As Paul is attacked by a deadly viper the natives wait for his iminent death. When Paul shakes off the snake and lives the people are sure that their pagan god "Justice" will not allow him to live. Not only does Paul live but heals others on the island in Jesus Name! When Paul finally arrives in Rome he is met again with resistance as the Jews once again do not "have ears to hear" the truth of the Gospel and that Jesus wants to set them free! The book of Acts ends with Paul proclaiming the Kingdom of God as the Gospel is taken to the "ends of the earth" and Yaweh reclaims the nations for his own.Want to be part of what God is doing through the Revelations Podcast? Some people believe that if anyone reads the 13 books he wrote they are going to hell and multitudes are falling for it. The problem with this false belief poses a problem. Then the world is left with an unfinished Bible. This unfortunately has become a contentious, even violent issue. Others are still wet behind the ears "teaching" and trying to disprove Paul's disqulifications by isolating scriptures and building lies. Today Howard begins to validate the person of Paul in depths that go deep into the 1611 King James Bible Old Testament texts spreading out through the New Testament. His teaching is rich, profound, scholarly and brilliant. "The apostle was ready to go anywhere with the gospel, but he was not ready to preach another gospel; no one could make him ready to do that. Listen in to the first part of Chapter 5 of Scepter's newest release: Coached by Paul the Apostle by Fr. Nathan Cromly. This chapter focuses on overcoming fear in order to lead.
In Acts 22 and 23 Paul gives his testimony again to the temple mob in Jerusalem as he shares that he was a murderer and was blind, but because of Jesus now he sees. When Paul preaches that God "sent him to the Gentiles" the crowd goes wild and wants to kill him. God comes to Paul in a vision and tells him to "Take Courage!" and reminds him that what the enemy uses for evil, God uses for good and His plans will not be thwarted! Paul is senet to Caesarea before 40 zealous men who took an oath to murder Paul can get to him. God provides for Paul once again and the Gospel continues to go to the ends of the earth.Want to be part of what God is doing through the Revelations Podcast? Better Stories - Paul The Apostle by Lifehouse
Bible Scholar Melanie Hurlbut is back to wrap up Acts 17! Paul preaches to unbelievers who are worshipping an "Unknown god" in Athens, Greece a city filled with paganism and idol worship. Paul breaks down the difference between religion and faith in the One True God and how worship of little g gods only leads to death. Paul proclaims, "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands."In light of the spiritual warfare going on this city the unseen realm becomes more real as Paul preaches that Jesus is the Messiah because God raised him from the dead and one day will come back to judge the world with justice!Want to be part of what God is doing through the Revelations Podcast? Find the accompanying PowerPoint Here. Paul the Apostle - From Adversary to Ally, by Stephen Smith. 4/7/2024 Sunday PM Sermon.
Book of Acts and the challenges faced by early Christians in a hostile world. Pastor Josh reviews the shift in society's view of Christianity from positive to neutral, and now to negative, highlighting the legal and cultural shifts that have marginalized Christian beliefs. Despite these challenges, Pastor Josh emphasizes the importance of staying true to one's faith, focusing on Jesus, and living a life that exemplifies Christian values. Pastor Josh recounts Paul's defense before King Agrippa, showcasing Paul's unwavering commitment to spreading the Gospel, regardless of personal risks. Pastor Josh encourages Christians to be bold in their faith, compassionate towards others, and to always keep Jesus at the center of their discussions and actions. Thanks for listening! visit www.gracecitychurch.com for more content.
In this sermon, Pastor Josh McPherson discusses the story of Paul in Acts chapter 23 and highlights three things to remember about God in a negative world reality. The first point is that the plot of the enemy only serves to propel the purposes of God. Pastor Josh emphasizes that even in the face of opposition and attacks, God is sovereign and in control. The second point is that evil men, godless men, and secular infrastructures can be used by God to fund and facilitate His kingdom work. Pastor Josh uses the example of Paul being protected by Roman soldiers and being provided for by the Roman government while in prison.
