Enigmatic is an adjective that means mysterious. Enigma comes to us directly from Greece, where it means ‘riddle.’ Comic book fans may recall a character named Ed Nygma, the alter ego of the Batman villain known as The Riddler. Not everyone called enigmatic has such a direct connection to riddles, but the word generally refers to those who are — like a riddle — difficult to figure out. Having Eric as a boss can be a challenge. It’s hard to figure out the needs of someone so enigmatic.

It's all come to this. The Gotham Season 4 finale but thankfully not the Gotham Finale. We discuss our Top Five case notes in our Gotham Season 4 Episode 22 Review of "No Man's Land". As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to the podcast. Synopsis for Gotham Season 4 Episode 22 Review No Man's Land Podcast Directed by: Nathan Hope Written by:  Seth Boston and John Stephens As the army comes in to take control of Gotham and the city continues to be evacuated, Jeremiah Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), back behind bars at the GCPD, warns a skeptical Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) of more bombs and destruction to come. Meanwhile, Jim is kidnapped by The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and narrowly escapes death after Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) convinces Ed Nygma to leave Gotham. But Ra’s Al Ghul’s (Alexander Siddig) plan swings into action as a bomb detonates killing the Mayor of Gotham and forcing Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) to leave a hospitalised Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) to confront Jeremiah at the G.C.P.D. But he in turn is kidnapped and taken to Ra’s where he is rescued by an unexpected team, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas), Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) who arrive, saving Bruce and killing Ra’s Al Ghul. As Bruce is saved Jeremiah's bombs destroy every bridge out of Gotham, reducing the city to lawlessness. As the city is carved up between competing criminal gangs Penguin takes his revenge out on Tabitha Galavan for the death of his mother and we say goodbye to Butch Gilzean/Solomon Grundy (Drew Powell). Finally Bruce Wayne is forced to make a life changing decision and to come to terms with his future in a Gotham that is cut-off from the outside world. Synopsis for Gotham Season 4 Episode 21 Review One Bad Day Podcast Directed by: Rob Bailey Written by: Tze Chun As Gotham falls into complete anarchy, a group of unlikely disparate heroes step up to save the city, themselves and their loved ones from the maniacal plans of Jeremiah Valeska (Cameron Monaghan). With Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) presumed dead Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) takes the lead at the GCPD to evacuate Gotham and find the location of the bombs planted around the city. Elsewhere, in the Narrows, Jim begins to recuperate at the hands of Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) as she persuades The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) to solve Jeremiah’s puzzle and find the bombs locations. But in doing so Ed Nygma is caught off guard by Jim and so are his feelings for Lee. As Jim heads to the GCPD to help bring the chaos to an end Harvey steps up to disarm the bombs and save Gotham. Meanwhile, as Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) goes to save the kidnapped Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) from Jeremiah and the Scarecrow (David W. But just as one bad day seemingly comes to an end with the help and friendship of Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Jeremiah is approached by Ra’s Al Ghul (Alexander Siddig) to form an alliance and have other thoughts. Bruce’s bad day continues back at Wayne Manor and Selina is shot by Jeremiah. As Alfred subdues Jeremiah, Bruce frantically tries to keep Selina alive. Thompson), his psychological limits are tested severely as those close to him are put in danger. In an attempt to deduce the identity of the mystery caller who framed him, Jim approaches Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) for help. However, Jim quickly deduces that all is not right with Ed as his strange behaviour alerts Jim to the possibility that he was involved. This is confirmed when Dark Nygma tries to kill Jim who manages to escape and entrap The Riddler down in the woods with the help of Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Harvey Bullock, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and the G.C.P.D. Meanwhile, with Ed Nygma arrested, Jim refuses to return to the G.C.P.D. and restarts his investigation into the Wayne murders. As Jim makes a call to Leslie Thompkins another female acquaintance, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), seemingly cured of her mental illness is released from Arkham Asylum by Professor Hugo Strange (BD Wong) and Ms. Peabody (Tonya Pinkins). Elsewhere in Gotham, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) is also beginning to learn a new truth about his step-family's role in his father's death. As he awakens from his conditioning in Arkham he truly believes that revenge is best served sold as he serves up a meal that the Van Dahl's will never forget. At Wayne Manor the sound of a computer rebooting offers Bruce the promise of another truth but one that comes with a very personal cost. Hello my dears and welcome to our Gotham S02E15 Mad Grey Dawn Podcast. From the biggest Batman '66 moment to date, to Barbara getting a creepy wake up call, the introduction of the Van Dahl clan and Jim getting arrested for a crime he actually did commit. We talk about it all on Episode 67 of Gotham TV Podcast Synopsis of Gotham S02E15 Mad Grey Dawn Podcast Directed by  Nick Copus Written by Robert Hull Paranoid that Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) suspects him of killing Kristen Kringle, Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) begins a dangerous game of cat and mouse around Gotham. In the meantime, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) tries to adjust to life out of Arkham Asylum and visits his old friends to make amends. Whilst at his Mother's grave he crosses paths with Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Reubens), who is revealed to be his father. Van Dahl recounts the history of him and Gertrude to Oswald and welcomes Cobblepot into his family. As Gordon and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) investigate a trail of brain teasers and clues at the Gotham Museum of Art, an anonymous tip-off prompts Internal Affairs to reopen the case against Jim Gordon's possible involvement in Theo Galavan's murder. As Jim's past confronts him, Ed Nygma's paranoid plan takes shape, and the Riddler frames him for the murder of the anonymous informer, a member of the GCPD Strike Force, whilst revealing his role in the brutal death of the former Mayor of Gotham. Gordon is arrested by Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis) at the GCPD and, after a trial, Gordon is determined guilty and sent to Blackgate Penitentiary. All the while Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) navigate and survive (just) the streets and criminals of Gotham's underworld with the help of the green fingered Ivy Pepper (Clare Foley) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) awakes from her catatonic state at Arkham Asylum. We're all invited to a wedding this week on our Gotham S02E8 Tonights The Night Podcast. We had a little bit of a delay this week but here we are with our Top 5 points, our Batman 66 moment, Bullockisms of the week and a rare appearance of a reference to Tim Burton's Batman Returns in our in depth discussion about Gotham Season 2 Episode 8 Synopsis for our Gotham S02E8 Tonights The Night Podcast - Gotham Season 2 Episode 8. Directed by   Jeffrey G. Hunt Written by Jim Barnes Theo Galavan (James Frain) offers Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) a proposition: Information about the killer of his parents in exchange for a  controlling stake in Wayne Enterprises. In the meantime, Theo has also instructed Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) to kill Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and she confront him at the G.C.P.D. where Gordon risks himself and his integrity to find more information about Galavan. However, en route to an unspecified location the police convoy is attacked and Jim is taken hostage....hostage to Barbara's fantasy for a twisted wedding at Gotham cathedral. However, Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis), and the Strike Force discovers Gordon's location and Barbara is given a bigger let down at the alter than she was expecting. Elsewhere Galavan's other plan begins to unravel as Bruce declines Theo's proposition just as Gordon arrives and arrests  following information obtained from Barbara.  Meanwhile, if you go down to the Gotham woods today you are sure of a big surprise, as was Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) who has a run-in with a familiar face. Thank you so much for listening to Gotham TV Podcast. In the penultimate episode of Gotham season one we discuss Episode 21 of Gotham The Anvil or the Hammer on Episode 46 of Gotham TV Podcast. This episode was great, we loved it, Gotham The Anvil or the Hammer was in parts gruesome, edgy, sassy and fraught with danger for all the main protagonists. Written by Jordan Harper and directed by Paul A. Edwards this is definitely one of the best episodes of the season so far. The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia) reveals his true intentions to Barbara (Erin Richards) as he slowly, but surely begins to emotionally break her! With these disturbing developments the G.C.P.D's investigation intensifies as Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) track him to an out-of-town location after a surprising personal testimony from an employee of the Fox Glove nightclub, a previous haunt of Jason "The Ogre" Lennon. As they close in on the Ogre, Barbara's life and the lives of people close to her are in deadly jeopardy. All the while, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) begins to move his pieces on the chess board that is Gotham as he seeks to begin the turf war between the rival gangs of Don Maroni (David Zayas) and Don Falcone (John Doman). As the chaos begins so Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) finds himself in turmoil as he must come to terms with revelations about his father - Thomas Wayne; and Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) must clean up after his actions from the night before, but all with a sly sense of humour and, of course, a clue!. The outro music for this week is again the The with their fantastic tune "Boiling Point" someone loves their UK indie music over in Gotham we suspect Danny Cannon and Bruno Heller. Join us again next week for the season finale of Gotham as we discuss Episode 22 All Happy Families Are Alike. Don't forget that we will also be drawing the winner of our competition for the signed Christopher Uminga print of Oswald Cobblepot , the first five issues of Gotham By Midnight with art by Ben Templesmith and more goodies. This week on Gotham it was time to be very very afraid as we were introduced to the Crane family in Episode 14 of Gotham The Fearsome Doctor Crane which aired in the UK on Monday 30th March 2015. We also introduce another Doctor from Gotham in the shape of the (former) G.C.P.D. Medical Examiner, as Philip Hernandez who plays Doctor Guerra left a very special message for our listeners. In the message he explains his scenes in the episode and provides some extra little bits that he brought to the character of Doctor Guerra. He also vows to return to exact his revenge on Ed Nygma! You can follow Philip Hernadez on Twitter and check out his website and blog for all those interested in acting and learning the profession. In this episode of Gotham the G.C.P.D. investigate a series of murders that surround an anonymous support group for people with debilitating phobias. The perpetrator seemingly is extracting their adrenal gland for no obvious reason. As Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock investigate these crimes, Jim is released from his involvement in the investigation of Thomas and Martha Wayne's murder by the young Bruce Wayne, seemingly frustrated at the lack of progress in the official case. All the while a romantic air falls over the G.C.P.D as Harvey finds his soft centre for the leader of the support group, Ms. Mullens, and Jim's relationship with Leslie Thompkins evolves through an unexpected dinner date. Meanwhile at the Precinct a professional spat between the Medical Examiner, Dr. Guerra and Ed Nygma leads to the suspension of Ed from the Forensics Unit before he implicates Guerra in the collection of spare body parts from the morgue. Is Guerra Ed Nyma's (aka The Riddler) first victim? As Jim and Harvey narrow down their list of suspects, they race to an abandoned swimming pool where Mullens is in danger as a Doctor Gerald Crane is revealed as the murderer at large. With his actions are driven by a longing to release him and his son, Jonathon Crane from their debilitating F.E.A.R. We discuss all these top five case points surrounding  Episode 14 of Gotham. Feedback We discuss all the feedback that has come in from our listeners on everything from Welcome Back Jim Gordon to our thoughts about whether Gotham should have a time jump. Make sure to send your thoughts to feedback@gothamtvpodcast.com We also give a big shout out to Victoria Cartagena (Detective Renee Montoya on Gotham) who celebrated her birthday on the 31st of March. If you haven't had the chance you can hear our interviews with Victoria and of course her partner Detective Crispus Allen (played by Andrew Stewart-Jones) at the links below. We want to wish Victoria a great birthday and another great year on Gotham. Interview 1 - https://gothamtvpodcast.com/gotham-tv-podcast-exclusive-in-the-interview-room-with-gothams-victoria-cartagena-and-andrew-stewart-jones/ Interview 2 - https://gothamtvpodcast.com/gotham-tv-podcast-live-mcu-interview/ The music at the end of this weeks episode is Nouvelle Vague's cover song of Love will Tear Us Apart (feat. Eloisia) from their self-titled album Nouvelle Vague. This song was playing in the background of the restaurant where Jim Gordon met Leslie Thompkins for what she thought was another date but turned out to be some professional consultation. Join us again next week as we discuss Episode 15 of Gotham The Scarecrow. We're excited to see how the beginnings of Jonathon Crane's fear leads to his journey towards becoming the Scarecrow.
