Lucius berates his father for killing his own son, and Titus's brother Marcus implores him to allow them to bury Mutius in the family tomb. Titus grudgingly agrees to it and tells Marcus that he hopes to prosper by Tamora's sudden advancement, since he was the one who brought her to Rome. Assuming that Titus orchestrated her escape with Bassianus, Saturninus publicly rejects Lavinia before leaving to marry Tamora. After the wedding, Saturninus and Bassianus strike an uneasy peace. Bassianus tells Saturninus that Titus had no part in Lavinia's abduction. Tamora also vouches for Titus's innocence, then pulls Saturninus aside and tells him he must pardon Titus or risk the anger of the Roman people. She promises her new husband that she will find a way to get revenge on Titus and his family. Saturninus finally absolves Marcus, Titus and his remaining sons. Tamora reassures Bassianus and Lavinia that they need not fear punishment as long as they behave. As they leave to enjoy the double wedding feast, Titus invites Saturninus to a celebratory hunt the following morning. Outside the palace, Aaron the Moor walks alone during the festivities, ruminating on his love affair with Tamora. He revels in her new status as Empress, looking forward to the power he will wield through her. He comes across Tamora's sons, Demetrius and Chiron, who are fighting each other over who gets dibs on Lavinia. Aaron breaks it up and tells them Lavinia has just married Bassianus. In the wake of the Emperor's death, his two sons–Saturninus (the eldest) and Bassianus (the younger, more popular)--argue over who should rule Rome, as their armed supporters clash in the streets. The Tribune Marcus Andronicus (Titus's brother) intervenes to stop the fight. He announces that the Roman people have chosen his brother, Titus Andronicus, to be the new Emperor because of his legendary military service. Titus enters in triumph with his four surviving sons, the bodies of his dead sons in coffins, and high-profile prisoners of war–including Tamora, Queen of the Goths, and her three sons. Titus refuses the crown due to his old age and instead endorses Saturninus, who becomes the new Emperor. Titus's son, Lucius, demands that the eldest captive Goth prince, Alarbus, be sacrificed to appease the ghosts of Titus's fallen sons. Tamora begs for her son's life, but Titus insists on the brutal religious rite. Alarbus is dismembered and killed. Grieved and enraged, Tamora and her surviving sons swear revenge against Titus and his family. As a reward for his loyalty, Saturninus chooses to marry Titus's daughter, Lavinia. However, Lavinia is already legally betrothed to Saturninus's rival brother, Bassianus. Saturninus abruptly changes course and decides to marry Tamora instead, making her the new Empress of Rome. With the help of Marcus and Titus's sons, Bassianus escapes with Lavinia. Potter Revisited Episode #117 George with a Knife AKA Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 19 "The Lion and the Serpent" We hate Umbridge so so much Harry is feeling so good about the work he is doing in the DA Hermione creates a way for Harry to relay DA meeting dates secretly which is really cool It seems wrong that Hogwarts doesn't encourage students to be friends with others outside their house Confirmation that Hermione was almost put in Ravenclaw  Would Ravenclaw been a better fit for Hermione, especially at the beginning of the series? Hermione using the Death Eater dark marks for inspiration shows how lucky we are that she is on the good side Minerva's dedication to ensuring the Gryffindor Quidditch team wins is admirable  Snape is not putting a stop to the Slytherin's cursing members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, +1 Sucks Point  Harry is used to the ridicule and attacks from the Slytherin's before a Quidditch match but poor Ron is not handling it well  Ron needs to remember he has punched Malfoy before and he can do it again  Luna's Gryffindor Hat is so cool! Luna is obviously very creative and very talented with magic  Tori recalls her fangirl moment when Hermione kisses Ron for good luck  Malfoy has made badges for the Slytherin's to wear - very foreboding  Who is making all these badges for Draco? Tori hates the badges, Malfoy and the fact he is a nepo baby Crabbe and Goyle have made the Slytherin team as beaters, goon Quidditch at its finest  We have missed Lee Jordan's commentary Tori struggles reading the Quidditch game, and feels so bad for Ron  Draco appears to have written and taught all the Slytherin's a terrible song about Ron to sing during the game  What song makes you want to die of embarrassment more, Ginny's singing Valentine to Harry or the Weasley is our King song? Imagine if Draco applied himself to other tasks instead of harassing Harry and Ron  Ron is not able to play well understandably, but Harry catches the snitch and is able to win the game for Gryffindor  Draco cannot let this go and continues to say disgusting things about the Weasley's to Harry and the team  George and Harry basically jump Malfoy, and it is deserved  Shay thinks they should of waited to jump Malfoy when their were no witnesses  Draco has gotten away with far too much, what he is saying is vile  Tori goes back to all the times Malfoy was hit in the series and a new counter has been made! Talk Shit Get Hit will count all the times Draco gets hit (which he deserves) Is Hogwarts (and Dumbledore) partly responsible for why Draco is the way he is?  Is Draco more emboldened in OOTP due to Lucius being in both Fudge's inner circle and Voldemort's? Was Draco surprised to be attacked? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes? George with a Knife is the new Harry with a Gun  Would you trust the Weasley twins with a spoon? McGonagall is not happy with Harry and George and plans to punish them but Umbridge arrives to make this worse Umbridge is SO petty  Umbridge confirms that she tried to stop the Gryffindor team from reforming because she has a vendetta against a fifteen year old  Umbridge gives Harry, Fred and George a lifetime ban from Quidditch unjustly, and Fred wasn't even involved in the fight  Tori hates Umbridge, and gives her +3 sucks points for being petty, being bias, being power-hungry and for being a huge bitch  How does a lifelong ban even work? It seems wrong for Umbridge to confiscate Harry and the Twins brooms since they are their property that they paid for  Harry needs a lawyer Umbridge gets another sucks point for the unfair Quidditch ban +1  Ron hasn't been seen since the game and comes back so sad and wanting to resign Harry has also had a terrible day and refuses to let Ron resign  What would Oliver Wood have to say about Harry's lifelong Quidditch Ban? Hermione tries to cheer the boys up by letting them know that Hagrid is back  Hagrid save us all!! Tori probably sweared more than Shay in this episode - a new record! "You need to be somewhere where you allow yourself to be totally stupid," say Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius. Not great life advice, but it's fantastic advice for the creative process. In other words, the initial stage of any creative process means getting out of your own way and releasing all inhibitions. It's about putting everything down on paper, no matter how stupid, and deciding later whether it belongs. Wolfe and Laessig's initial stage involves fantastic word games. One will open a book, close her eyes, then put their finger on a random word. They then write about that word for ten or so minutes in a freewriting exercise. Which of those two do you need to hear more right now?4.     Sometimes the same quality that makes a church warm and welcoming is exactly what wolves exploit. How do you hold those two things together — staying genuinely open and also genuinely discerning?5.     If you are a Christian, what do you find to be your personal hurdles to engaging in free, full-hearted worship of God?6.     Quartus — "Number Four" — a nobody with a slave's name, whose name ends up in the most important letter ever written. Is there someone in your life right now who feels invisible or nameless to the people around them, and what would it look like for you to do what Paul did?

Acts 13:1-8 New International Version   13 1 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. 4 The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. 6 They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, 7 who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.

Tune in this week for a quick eructation as Jeff and Dave review the disturbing story of Lucius Pedanius Secundus, Roman aristocrat, who in A.D. 61 was murdered by one of his household slaves. The aftermath of this violent act was notoriously brutal: Tacitus tells us all 400 other slaves in Pedanius' house, whether implicated in the crime or ignorant of it, including women and infants, were scheduled for crucifixion. Tacitus also records that a mob of Roman citizens rioted and stormed the senate building, seeking to prevent the enforcement of the ancient law. Drawing from Annales XIV.42-45, the hosts look at arguments for and against the justice of such an act, the constraints of mos maiorum, and the final outcome of the whole nasty affair, because of Nero's intervention. Grim, yes, but history, as Edward Gibbon says, "...is, indeed, little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind."
