In this explosive episode, the host delivers a searing indictment of government inaction—from Governor Henry McMaster's failure to replicate Florida's crackdown on illegal immigration to the hidden dangers of everyday chemicals poisoning American families. Using the tragic murder of a South Carolina woman by illegal immigrant gang members as a flashpoint, the host calls out political cowardice and exposes how Ron DeSantis' partnership with federal agencies is successfully driving criminal migrants out of Florida. The conversation then shifts to a sweeping public health crisis, connecting fluoride, microplastics, and toxic food additives to rising neurological disorders like ADHD. Drawing parallels to Big Tobacco's cover-up, this broadcast warns of an inevitable wave of lawsuits and societal awakening. Raw, urgent, and unfiltered—this is a call to action for a nation on the edge.
I had a budding career as an attorney. I was making more money than I knew how to spend. I was living in the Upper East Side. Everything looked promising. On paper, it seemed like Justin Maffett had achieved the life he'd always wanted, but instead of enjoying it, he felt trapped in a career that was making him miserable. Then in 2020, COVID lockdowns forced Justin into a state of physical and emotional isolation, and that simmering resentment he felt towards his work turned into a mental health crisis - followed by arrests and felony charges - that would upend his entire life.May is Mental Health awareness month, so in this episode we're hearing about Justin's long journey back from the brink, and why when it comes to Mental Health, we need radical transparency.About JustinJustin Maffett is a writer, lawyer, and current graduate student at HEC Paris Business School. Previously, he was a New York City and later Washington, D.C. based corporate lawyer at two premier international law firms where he specialized in financial regulations. "This composition is intended to hiss out of speakers in a similar manner to the liquid nitrogen hissing from the storage tanks outside the Department of Earth Sciences. It's a sonic reflection on standing in this small street, being surrounded on every side by the sounds of humming machinery, coolant and air conditioning, the administrative machinery that underpins and helps to make possible Oxford University's scientific research. This machinery is the unsung hero of our piece. "A tribute to the sounds of science here in our home city, layers of the liquid nitrogen field recording are delayed and granular synthesis is applied, over which huge, steady waves of ambient guitar wash, and a synth made from the sounds of metals provides an ambient pad undercurrent." Liquid nitrogen tanks at Oxford University reimagined by Cities and Memory.

In this episode, we return to the ever-escalating tensions in the Middle East. From the latest prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas—where each side's reactions reveal deep-rooted asymmetries—to repeated violations of agreements, the region is once again teetering on the edge.We also turn our attention to Hezbollah and a lingering question—can you truly defeat an organisation's ideas through military force alone? Meanwhile, Syria briefly steps back into the international spotlight, even earning a mention in Vatican News. That's more than enough reason for us to examine what the Western Bubble gets wrong about the country's latest developments. And, of course, no episode on Middle East would be complete without the familiar Western headlines: Iran is once again "on the brink" of building a nuclear weapon—just like it has been for the past two decades. This podcast is published with the help of RAIA NOW gUG but is an individual project between the Director of RAIA Dario Hasenstab and Balder Hageraats. In this episode, we're exploring the world of climate journalism – specifically how climate change is covered across a variety of media from short form rapid response news to long form narrative documentaries – and how it's evolved over the years. First, Executive Director of Climate Group North America Angela Barranco joins with Sammy Roth, Climate Columnist at the L.A. Times and host of the new podcast Boiling Point, on how major print publications are covering climate and communicating climate risk, how this has changed, and what we can do to combat misinformation. Then, Climate Group's Adam Lake speaks with Stephanie Abrams, Meteorologist at The Weather Channel, to explore how broadcast coverage of climate change has evolved and how audiences are responding to more frequent instances of extreme weather. Finally, Climate Group's Liisa Kaufman joins with Kira Akerman, Director of the climate change documentary Hollow Tree, to walk us through her filmmaking process and how longform media and storytelling can shape the narrative around climate action.
