Master Marc Zirogiannis breaks down his coverage of the July 31, 2026 PFL MMA event and the merger of PFL and Most Valuable Promotions. UBS Arena played host to an action-packed night of mixed martial arts as PFL New York Presented by Arkham lit up the Big Apple with unforgettable performances and thrilling finishes. The event comes on the heels of yesterday's landmark merger announcement between MVP and the PFL. MVP Co-Founders, Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidaria, joined Chief Executive Officer John Martin cageside for the event which created the new platform under the MVP banner. Several global combat sports stars were in attendance to witness this incredible night of action including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Islam Machachev, Kamaru Usman, Royce Gracie and PFL Interim World Champion Johnny Eblen. In the main event, #C-Usman Nurmagomedov (22-0, 1NC) continued his reign of dominance with a first round TKO of previously-undefeated challenger #3-Archie “King” Colgan (13-1) to retain the PFL Lightweight World Championship. Nurmagomedov put his striking arsenal on full display as he dropped Colgan with a well-placed head kick followed by a left hook. Colgan survived momentarily, but the champ put the challenger away with a pair of brutal uppercuts and ground and pound, all in the opening round. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Ach was! Was soll schon passieren? --- In der nächsten Folge lesen wir die zweite Hälfte von H. Tim and Frank take on a deceptively simple question: is Spider-Man actually a street-level superhero? What starts as a debate about subgenres turns into a much bigger conversation — about tone, stakes, and whether the label helps or hurts a character when your hero is literally swinging above the street. Take the humour and playfulness of the LEGO games, mix it with the depth and (much of) the gameplay of the Arkham games, all while covering a fascinating mix of The Batman's history - both fictional and aesthetic - and you've got Traveller's Tales' LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight, which we dive into on this episode. Then we're looking at Unstoppable, which is bringing solo and co-op play to the tabletop via Renegade Game Studios. Rulebook aside, this is a surprising and very enjoyable deck builder with lovely interactions, compelling upgrades, and a dopamine-firing power curve. Finally, we're having the time of our lives with The Boroughs, where everything is not as it seems in New Mexico. All that, and keeping it camp, on Ep251. 00:00 - Just Vaseline 07:28 - LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight 25:39 - An invention a bit like penicillin 31:14 - Unstoppable 50:30 - The Boroughs On this episode were Dan (@ThisDanFrost), Kris (@DigitalStrider), and Sam (@MrSamTurner).

This week- two films about dudes justifying their actions as being pushed to extremes by manipulative outside forces. Odin James, an African-American basketball prodigy, has earned a leadership position on a highly competitive private school's predominately white and upper-middle class team and the interest of many college recruiters. When Odin shares his team MVP award with Michael, Hugo, the coach's jealous son, devises a plot to take them both down so he can step into the team's spotlight. An updated take on Shakespeare and the second directorial feature from playwright and character actor Time Blake Nelson- O. Charles Dexter Ward has inherited the grand mansion overlooking the small town of Arkham, Massachusetts. Little does he suspect that is the same place where the town burned his forebearer, the necromancer Joseph Curwen, 110 years earlier. Welcome back to The Inner Gamer, the roundtable podcast dedicated to analyzing the ideas, trends, and time-value decisions shaping modern video games. This week, we are kicking things off by driving straight into the stunning landscape of Japan with our full critique of Forza Horizon 6. While Playground Games has delivered an absolute mechanical and visual masterpiece, we examine the concept of "excellence fatigue". For busy professionals with tight schedules, does the game's relentless dopamine loop and identical progression structure turn a quick driving session into a trend-chasing live-service project that you've already experienced? Next, a special guest jumps onto the roundtable couch to help us navigate the alien oceans of Subnautica 2, freshly launched in Early Access. We look closely at how the development team has pulled off the impossible: adding native 4-player cooperative play to a franchise defined by crushing isolation without losing a single ounce of its trademark psychological tension. We explore the baseline stability of the build, the massive grassroots enthusiasm brewing inside the game's official Discord channels, and how its modular base-building automation and streamlined blueprint systems elegantly respect an adult's limited hobby hours. Finally, we shift our focus to the structural design trends splitting the soul of the modern industry. We audit LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, evaluating the creative friction that occurs when family-friendly plastic brickwork tries to copy the mature DNA of the Arkham franchise. We close the show by breaking down the newest GDC industry data revealing that over 70% of developers now rely on global co-development pipelines. Using case studies like Fable and Crimson Desert, we expose how fracturing a single game across multiple outsourced corporate entities creates the massive logistical bottlenecks behind modern 6-year development cycles and buggy launch-day builds. Vi pratar också kort om: Vincent Price, Richard Matheson, Peter Lorre, Jack Nicholson, Boris Karloff, Charles Beaumont, Francis Ford Coppola, H.P Lovecraft, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, Lon Chaney, Messiah of Evil, The Resurrected, Elisha Cook jr, Yog Sothoth, Cthulhu, Necronomicon, Arkham, Shadow over Innsmouth, Debra Paget, Leo Gordon och Freud. Mycket nöje!

Me and Jenny go together like Plok and Rayman. This week, we're taking a big look at the start of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the latest from Traveller's Tales' Lego series. With refined, Arkham-style combat and the most detailed characters to date, it feels like a whole new era for the delightful franchise. We're also back with more Requiem as Leon and Grace's journey continues, namely in Raccoon City's RPD. Motorslice is here as well, with some gripes coming in on the game's third big level. We also delve into the Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition that dropped earlier this year and came with its own set of huge complaints. And in news, the end of Destiny 2 has been announced. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

On the last surviving star, a civilization that has mastered time, matter, and life itself faces a slow extinction they cannot stop. When a newly created mind claims victory over the unstoppable force consuming the universe, one decision will determine whether anything at all remains. The Red Brain by Donald Wandrei. That's next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast.Author Donald Wandrei makes his debut on the podcast today. Born in 1908 in St. Paul, Minnesota, he built a reputation as a science fiction writer, poet, and editor—and, like many writers of his era, he shared a strong connection with H. P. Lovecraft. As a teenager, Wandrei hitchhiked from Minnesota to Rhode Island to meet Lovecraft in person. That journey led to his involvement in the Lovecraft Circle, alongside writers such as Frank Belknap Long and Clark Ashton Smith.Wandrei also played a crucial role behind the scenes. Without his intervention, The Call of Cthulhu might never have appeared in Weird Tales. He wrote directly to the magazine's publisher, making it clear that if Lovecraft's work wasn't accepted, the author would take his stories elsewhere. In late 1937, after H. P. Lovecraft's death, Donald Wandrei and August Derleth tried to publish a memorial collection of his best weird fiction. When major publishers passed, they created their own company—Arkham House—to release Lovecraft's work in hardcover. The name comes from Lovecraft's fictional city of Arkham, Massachusetts.Donald Wandrei went on to write nearly 100 science fiction short stories, and he was just 16 when he wrote the one you're about to hear—his first to be published, in Weird Tales magazine in October 1927 on page 531, The Red Brain by Donald Wandrei…Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, Humanity finally reaches Mars expecting discovery, only to stumble into a revelation that quietly rewrites Earth's entire history. What begins as triumph turns into a cosmic joke with unsettling implications no one is prepared to accept. Mimsy's Joke by Millard Grimes.
Our hosts return to the Podcave to review the final episode of Batman: The Animated Series, “Judgment Day.” Alex and Will dive into the debut of The Judge and explore just how much he mirrors The Phantasm. Such as both characters being shadowy, masked figures with chilling voices, who stalk their targets in deeply unsettling ways, and all the while building toward a surprise identity reveal.Along the way, they wonder what happens to Two-Face's apartment while he's locked up in Arkham? Why doesn't The Judge find it suspicious that he knows so much about Two-Face? And how does Batman expect anyone to not notice his wildly over-the-top pirate disguise? The episode also serves as a tribute to Richard Moll, arguably the greatest Two-Face ever put on screen. As a final goodbye, Alex and Will pack the discussion with enough “number two” puns to make your head spin…TWICE!But, DO NOT think that this is the last episode of the Podcast, as our hosts will be continuing their journey through the DCAU and following Batman into Justice League.Tip Jar: https://buymeacoffee.com/batmantaspod ThreadHeads 20% Off: https://www.threadheads.com/BATMANTASPOD87466Outbreaks Issue 4 Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/speechcomics/outbreaks-1-4-an-ongoing-zombie-anthology-seriesMobster Mash 1-2 Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/speechcomics/mobster-mash-1-2-classic-movie-monsters-as-mobsters Join Our Discord - https://discord.com/invite/bQF76V3nUs TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@batmantaspod?_t=8zn1yhsgnfz&_r=1 Follow us on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@batmantaspod Follow the Pod on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/batmantaspod/ Follow the Pod on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BatmanTASPod Follow the Pod on Twitter - https://twitter.com/batmantaspod1 Subscribe to Will's Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/willrobson Speech Comics Website - https://www.speechcomics.com/ Will's WhatNot Page - https://www.whatnot.com/user/speechcomics

I seem to have stumbled upon another “type” of game that I enjoy. The kind of game where you try to break it. Not actually break it but you take its rules and gameplay and find ways to do absurd things with it. It's the nature of the game itself and could easily be called “ways to crash your PC”. There was Ball X Pit and CloverPit, Vampire Survivors and Mega Bonk, and now I'm doing the same with Raccoin. I'll probably stream some gameplay here not long after this has been posted. I'm always surprised by what can hold my attention. More and more it's games that let you play for about 30 minutes or so before you've done what you needed or wanted to do and then it's your choice to continue or to stop. It always makes me wonder if my tastes are changing but then I look at what's coming out that's exciting to me and realize that no, my tastes are just as they've always been. I say that because I saw a new video of the Lego Batman game due next month and I'm just as excited for it as I would be any other game in the Arkham series. In other news, Matt's still alive and finally getting around to Cyberpunk. And finally getting around to joining us for his first episode of the year. In other bad news, more layoffs and more price increases. In no news whatsoever, we're still waiting on Splinter Cell. Ubisoft, it's been 4,626 days since a new Splinter Cell game (non-animated series or guest spot in another game franchise, remake, BBC radio drama, or VR exclusive) was released. Also, there's been 3,248 job losses in the gaming industry since January 1, 2026.

The game thrives on its tension: every decision feels like a trade‑off between speed and sustainability, and the modular map keeps each journey fresh. It's a thoughtful blend of exploration and logistics, capturing both the wonder and the hardship of charting unmapped territory. Arkham Horror: The Card Game, by contrast, plunges you into a very different kind of expedition—one into cosmic dread and psychological unraveling. Its living‑card‑game structure turns every campaign into a branching narrative where your deck evolves alongside your investigator's triumphs, traumas, and terrible choices. Scenarios twist the rules, warp the environment, and force you to improvise under pressure, making each session feel like a bespoke horror story. Where Corps of Discovery celebrates discovery and perseverance, Arkham Horror LCG revels in uncertainty and creeping doom, offering a deeply immersive experience that rewards clever deckbuilding and narrative investment.
